I so very much wish I had a time machine. I’d give anything to take my wife of forty years and go back to see every rock concert from 1964 to sometime in the 80s.
Great in the 70s, still great in the 90s, and now, still great 30 years beyond in 2024. The music of the 60s and 70s was an era not to be missed. Those of us who experienced it as teens and in our 20s were so lucky. We knew the music was great, especially after the advent of rock FM radio permeated everywhere we went. We had the music, the musicians, affordable home stereo gear, and concerts where a ticket ranged from free to working about 3-4 hours at minimum wage. 55 years later the memories are still fresh. Front row seats at Jefferson Airplane. Standing in the pit six feat from a weaving and wobbling Jim Morrison. An intimate college auditorium with CS&N. Jimi Hendrick, packed house in Dallas, some guy passing a joint. A cop holding a door open for me so I could crash The Who playing Tommy. Falling asleep in the grass at the front of the crowd, waking up a half hour later with the crowd now stretching out in front of me, and Chuck Berry rocking and rolling to My Ding-A-Ling. Thanksgiving feast with friends just out of HS, with Alice's Restaurant playing in the background.
I dont think these guys should be characterized as 'forgotten'. Todd Rundgren, Joe Walsh Timothy B Schmidt and Nils Lofgren can hardly be called forgotten. and while Burton Cummings hasnt had a hit in decades, his voice and delivery havent degraded much at all.
I’m just going to say it: Ringo Starr’s Allstars is such a great concept and execution that it could have come only from Ringo. Who could say no to Ringo? And thank God for that!
I asked Gary Burr why he wasn't recording his own hit songs. He said he preferred having other artists making money for him while he toured with Ringo. I had to agree.
All the talent that Ringo can aggregate at one time is phenomenal. He let's each performer do their thing and is STILL the ringmaster. Love this version of the song.
As a Canadian, I’m proud of Burton Cummings, Randy Bachman and The Guess Who for their awesome contribution to rock music worldwide! Burton’s unique vocal talent has been underrated for years. Saw him live in Toronto a couple of years ago. He still delivered the goods! Rock on Burton! 🇨🇦
I was in the audience for the "Live at the Paramount" recordings in the Seattle Paramount theatre back in 1972. That was a fabulous concert. One of the opening songs was "Albert Flasher" with Cummings on the grand piano. His voice was so powerful and his piano playing on that song was just killer. Kurt winter's lead guitar was perfect on all those songs.
The sheer talent gathered on this stage is immense. Having Todd Rundgren, Timothy B. Schmidt, and Dave Edmonds perfect voices there just to back you on harmony ... blows my mind!
Timothy B. Schmidt's voice adds those sweet high parts that veteran vocalists often have to give up simply due to the ravages of time. He has always made any ensemble he is a part of exponentially better, without seeking the limelight for himself. To me, he comes across as one of those people who are simply about making music better.
I was at the show in Sunrise Florida and sitting front row in front of Burton. Ringo looked at me and said your old enough to remember this song Little help from my friends and stuck the mic boom in front of me to sing, and sing i did. One of the great times in my life! One of the best shows I ever attended. Thanks Ringo and all the great musicians on that stage.
And it would have been equally good here had there been a pro soundboard mixer. But the ass significantly dialed back the harmony mics while keeping Burton's too hot, thus that kind of baritone sound dominating which should have been the full spectrum harmonies. You hear them vaguely in the background, But do you hear Todd rundgren? No. You shouldn't judge the harmonies here based on the shitty soundboard mix, they were all dialed way too down.

@@mstewart109 I refer to it as an art form. Music had melody, harmony's, and rhythm as we think of it. Musical scales of Western tunings. Try naming notes on a sitar. Lol
Even living through the music of the 70s, 80s and 90s, my jaw still drops when I see an assembly of people like this on the same stage......never saw this concert before. People who didn't live through the 60s and 70s might not fully appreciate the sheer star-power standing side by side in this video.
You had to love the 60s, when guitars were panned left and right. And the Beatles would mess with you by moving vocals from side to side. Glad that Burt and Randy made up. Can't wait to see them this year.
Last week I finished up MY list of 100 greatest rock songs. This took awhile. Out of the many good Guess Who songs American Woman, No Time, No Sugar Tonight, These Eyes, etc., etc., etc. only 1 song made the Top 100. No Time #79
Dear Ringo, a FINE gentleman you are! Oh so gracious, endearing, engaging, and a most wonderful entertainer. You share your joy and talents with all your peers and make them shine! You shine because of your love!
That was fantastic .... I know Burton was loving the hell outta that .... great song and the nailed those guitars , perfect sound , vocals spot on too .... of course .... a stage full of legends
The Guess Who, one of the most underrated rock and roll bands of all time. Why the hell are they not in the R&R HoF? Music like this is a long gone era. Thankfully I have over 500 records which I take great pains to preserve. I have burned most of them to CD's so they will most likely outlive me. When I leave this earth, someone is going to wind up with a rock and roll gold mine collection.
What's a CD? Just kidding, as I lived through it all -vinyl, 8 track , cassettes, lazer disc, walkman, CD, cloud, streaming .... but the reality is you could probably save a million songs on a memory stick these days -mind boggling really. I haven't played a CD in years but I still have me old vinyl's.
Not just one of the absolute greatest rock songs ever written and one of the best guitar riffs ever created but performed by what was indeed an absolute All Star band. The collection of talent on that stage and their connections and contributions to the history of rock n roll is amazing.
Two reasons: 1) He's the drummer of the biggest band in history 2) His All Star band has always been made of top tier musicians, so joining is an honour
@@dianadundidit5343 Johnny Rivers still is not H of F, you may have a while to wait. A lot different than Burton, but still beyond compare. He should be in there for Poor Side of Town alone. That song defines classic rock ballad.
Music to my ears ! This just popped up on you tube for me and this is the music I grew up with. Never gets old. What a cast of players!!! Guitar play was badass awesome LOL! 👍
Saw Burton all alone at the piano inside the Halifax Citadel on a drizzly, damp evening, and never felt warmer. He's written more great songs than most people realize. This was incredible. Thanks for posting!
If video killed the radio star, computer technology killed the live music star. Guitar has all but disappeared from popular music today as has drums and pretty much every other live instrument because all you need is a microphone and a computer. It's sad. THIS right here is an all-star supergroup rocking the house and so much of today's music lacks that energy that live musicians and simple song structures bring. I thank God I grew up in the 70's and got to experience this generation of musicians both as a young child (who started playing drums at age 3 and experience it from the stage!) and a half-century old man who has You Tube (the better side of technology) to now see all of these amazing live performances that I could never have seen back then. Burton Cummings is a rock vocal God IMO and that entire band was incredible. I never ever get tired of watching this performance, even if Zack Starkey did get just a little overanxious when he counted off the song LOL.
Ya, I was in Germany, 1972 I believe. I was in the Army. Sitting with friends, colored posters on the wall, black lights and this song playing from America. Smoking some great hash from Afghanistan and Pakistan. This song brings back great memories. Great song.
I think he just is always having good times, I ran into him at the Hard Rock Casino in Tulsa,Ok. last month-i asked what he was doing there and he just said well I am Ringo so I must be here for the Bingo- he was doing a show later that weekend.but having a blast with Bingo-too cool
@@RShea-lp9wk It's been over 40 years since he was in the Beatles. I doubt that he's so small-souled as to still be riding life on that ticket. He's just a good guy.
This was the year I ran into Ringo in lake Buena vista near Disney at the sun trust bank when I was a gardener for Disney. I saw an amazing Porsche come in the parking lot so I got off my mower watched too see what kind of person gets out. As he got closer I realized it was him or a lookalike and we had a nice conversation which ended with him giving me a ride across the street to Disney market place where I went to the employee cafeteria for lunch. What memories I have of Disney and all the people I met!
I don't think rock could be played any better than this. From vocals, down to the bass, and everything in between, no hyperbole intended, this was absolutely Fantastic. And it appeared like a walk in the park for them.
A former co-worker and friend ran into to Ringo in a casino in Vegas. My friend was very impressed. He said Ringo was very gracious, unassuming, and generous with his time, just a regular guy. Of course you can get a picture, he said
Love that Zak Starkey is hammering the drum kit between verses to drive these superstars on this classic Guess Who track. Burton sounding great AND Timothy B. Schmit ... strong, strong performance on vocals. Wow! What a live version of a Canadian iconic song. Maybe the best ever.
Saw this show and line up at Canada’s Wonderland in ‘92. Favourite part was during Todd Rundgrens Bang The Drum and Joe Walsh came out on stage dressed as the energizer bunny banging away on a big bass drum strapped to his chest.

Ringo a proud dad.....and Zack a proud son!
I saw Zack years ago when he was with the Who for Quadrophenia! Billy Idol was the bellhop. Incredible show!!
Burton Cummings has one of the BEST voices in rock!!!
Robert Plant thought so too. Yes, that Robert Plant!
Burton Cummings, what a voice.
Burton Cummings has an incredible voice wow,,,,he should be in the rock n roll hall of fame for sure
All of these guys are STELLAR PERFORMERS
Yet run dmc is in the rock hall of fame? Who the fuck is making these decisions? Why is any rap even considered music at all?
@@stripervince1 should be the "rock&roll hall of fake".
Yeah Burton Cummings is almost unfair. It isn't just his voice or even how long he could hold that last note on "Undun"... it's that he was still capable of pulling it off well into the 2000's.
Definitely HoF material
We know who isn’t!
@@stripervince1 Fuckin A, you are so right.
Ringo was so faithful to fully use the gifts given to him. Legend Burton Cummings. Thank your Ringo and Burton.
There is so much talent on that stage, you can literally see the stage buckle under the weight.
you said it...the best of the best all on one stage at one time...
Been playing this almost daily. What a kicking line-up!!!
a Supergroup if there ever was one. they should release an LP.
Christian Stewart you are so right on there
Lotta heavy duty guitarists on stage!! Great song and a great job!!! Some of the best in the business
holy shit !! i just stumbled upon this. What a fucking jam. superstars everywhere. So many band like the Guess Who are kind of overlooked and forgotten. what a fucking song
Totally agree. Just stumbled onto this right now. Late 60s and all 70s were my generation. Music now is crap to me....
How many stars can you pack onto one stage? The guitar players alone could be one great show!
Not overlooked. Not forgotten.
@@mstewart109 I refer to it as an art form. Music had melody, harmony's, and rhythm as we think of it. Musical scales of Western tunings. Try naming notes on a sitar. Lol
@@mstewart109 Me too Margaret Ann😃
Even living through the music of the 70s, 80s and 90s, my jaw still drops when I see an assembly of people like this on the same stage......never saw this concert before. People who didn't live through the 60s and 70s might not fully appreciate the sheer star-power standing side by side in this video.
"No Time" hands down one of the best songs of all-time.
A grade 100
100% the greatest
You had to love the 60s, when guitars were panned left and right. And the Beatles would mess with you by moving vocals from side to side. Glad that Burt and Randy made up. Can't wait to see them this year.
In your opinion. It’s OK in mine, but nothing great.
Because they're Canadian.
Why the hell are they not in the R&R HoF? because the RRHOF is bullshit
Give me your address and I'll Fedex a 4TB external drive. Will that be big enough? lol
because its an american corporation
What an amazing compilation of superstars!!! 🖤💜🖤💜🖤
Grand lineup and intro. By ringo starr rock on ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Here it is 2020 and the song still sounds great ,,even with all the great help
You mean,"especially with all the great help!"
Burton Cummings is timeless!
And Burton and The Guess Who did it in either '69 or'70! FIFTY YEARS and it still ROCKS!!
@@tantraman10 yes beautiful song.
6-2022
Nils Lofgren has a style all his own on guitar without using a guitar pick. Awesome!
played with Neil Yong and Springsteen among many others in between
This is awesome. Cant believe im just now seeing this. What a line-up!
What a lineup! Burton Cummings is one of my fave rock singers, ever!
Thanks for your love and support ♥️❤️♥️
Not just one of the absolute greatest rock songs ever written and one of the best guitar riffs ever created but performed by what was indeed an absolute All Star band. The collection of talent on that stage and their connections and contributions to the history of rock n roll is amazing.
How did Ringo do it, putting so many musical legends on one stage? Incredible.
He's Ringo Starr.
Spot on, Freg Gerken.
He’s a bloody Bea’le.
When you're ONE of The Fab Four & Ringo calls you ANSWER..
Two were easy Zak is his son and Joe Walsh is his brother in law.
Two reasons:
1) He's the drummer of the biggest band in history
2) His All Star band has always been made of top tier musicians, so joining is an honour
That was killer. Always had a soft spot for the Guess Who, and Burton Cummings is a way-underrated vocalist.
Bosco Hern I totally agree!!I'm still waiting for them to be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame!!
Know this is a couple years ago but.... you had the best and we're still seing it!!!! FK the others!
@@dianadundidit5343 Johnny Rivers still is not H of F, you may have a while to wait. A lot different than Burton, but still beyond compare. He should be in there for Poor Side of Town alone. That song defines classic rock ballad.
john o'neal I agree, there's still so many others as well..Three Dog night!
IMO, Burton Cummings had one of the best voices in rock and roll.
I swear... the guess who NEVER got the recognition THEY RIGHTFULLY DESERVE!!
Why haven't they been inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame??!!!!
WAY overdue. Lets hope they make it the next few years.....totally deserved.
Obviously they were from the North End !
Great group!
One of my favorite bands---Saw both the Guess Who and BTO
Music to my ears ! This just popped up on you tube for me and this is the music I grew up with. Never gets old. What a cast of players!!! Guitar play was badass awesome LOL! 👍
Burton Cummings and the Guess Where were Awesome.
Guess Who*

EVERYONE knows the GUESS WHO should be in the Rock N roll hall of fame
Who?
@John Linnon guess ?
my Dad loved that Band!
The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame is a farce, and should be disregarded.
You mean their Still Not????
Omg. What a band!!!
No losers in this bunch.
except Nils Lofgren. His shortness gives him Napoleon syndrome. He is always trying to be the center of attention, crikey
Ya, I was in Germany, 1972 I believe. I was in the Army. Sitting with friends, colored posters on the wall, black lights and this song playing from America. Smoking some great hash from Afghanistan and Pakistan. This song brings back great memories. Great song.
Ringo always looks like he's having such a great time...
If you had the Beatles 1st on your resume, it might give him some confidence and peace of mind.....
How about ... because he is!!!???
I think he just is always having good times, I ran into him at the Hard Rock Casino in Tulsa,Ok. last month-i asked what he was doing there and he just said well I am Ringo so I must be here for the Bingo- he was doing a show later that weekend.but having a blast with Bingo-too cool
@@RShea-lp9wk It's been over 40 years since he was in the Beatles. I doubt that he's so small-souled as to still be riding life on that ticket. He's just a good guy.
Alden21 it's all about attitude👍
This was the year I ran into Ringo in lake Buena vista near Disney at the sun trust bank when I was a gardener for Disney. I saw an amazing Porsche come in the parking lot so I got off my mower watched too see what kind of person gets out. As he got closer I realized it was him or a lookalike and we had a nice conversation which ended with him giving me a ride across the street to Disney market place where I went to the employee cafeteria for lunch. What memories I have of Disney and all the people I met!
without a doubt Burton Cummings is one of the greatest voices of Rock ever
I don't think rock could be played any better than this. From vocals, down to the bass, and everything in between, no hyperbole intended, this was absolutely Fantastic. And it appeared like a walk in the park for them.
Ringo is a real class act!!
Agreed
A former co-worker and friend ran into to Ringo in a casino in Vegas. My friend was very impressed. He said Ringo was very gracious, unassuming, and generous with his time, just a regular guy. Of course you can get a picture, he said
And he will be the last Beatle to leave this earth.
@@christianresearchproject oh God are you one of that bunch who thinks Paul is dead?. Lord.
Yes he is and certainly a Nose ahead of the rest
Look at all that talent!!!! Love Burton Cummings!
I met Tod rundgren in person in 90,s.. Interactive Concert.. Great and this concert was fantastic with this people..
That was tight. Timothy B. Schmitt on bass and vocals. Quite a luxury really.
Killer performance by the All Starrs. I gotta say, I love Todd Rundgren. 😁
These guys sound great together. And why not -- individually, they're all incredibly talented and accomplished.
Saw this show and line up at Canada’s Wonderland in ‘92. Favourite part was during Todd Rundgrens Bang The Drum and Joe Walsh came out on stage dressed as the energizer bunny banging away on a big bass drum strapped to his chest.
I've seen Burton several times in concert he never fails to entertain and amaze a true Canadian treasure
Burton is still great - 2021....Check out hid awesome fb page......hevloves to post tons of stuff...all great!
and Order of Canada recipient too
@@RG-hf4et Burton Cumming seems to really like to perform , and puts a lot into it . I saw him in Edmonton at Rexall Place , when he was doing a " reunion " tour with Randy Bachman , and it was terrific . However , I also saw him doing a small show during K- Days , which was a free show to anyone who paid to get into the exhibition , and he put a lot into that show as well .
I just happen to click on this video, Have Mercy, What a great bunch of very talented musicians all in one room playing together. In sink with one another, it doesn't get much better than that. There should be a concert of a lifetime held in the USA where all the great musicians of rock n roll and our generation come together to have the greatest concert ever, And dedicate it to the musicians we have lost. I am 59 and have never been to a concert. I would not miss that one.
Wow what an all-star lineup; very nice to see these greats give Cummings/The Guess Who their due, even if Cummings' voice isn't what is was.
What a band. Only Ringo could put all these stars together to play with him!
Amazing!!!!
I'm not sure if Ringo never got enough credit all these years of the All-Star bands Ringo is a wonderful human being if we all had half the love I believe he has inside of him this world will be a beautiful place thank you Ringo in all your pals. For all the years of live music you brought to this world. We love you Ringo. And all of your pals. Keep on rocking. Too bad you couldn't get Polly out there. Oh well his loss. Love you Ringo
Just glad Ringo and these guys are still alive and walking the earth. Grew up singing to this cranked up on the car radio. When they're gone it will be the end of my era.
Wow! Always loved Ringo but to assemble this bunch of rock icons is magic. It’s the wrecking crew I’d love to be able to go see - NOW!!!
Ringo's All Star bands are the best ensembles you ever will find! 🌟
Thanks for your love and support ♥️❤️
I saw them on this tour. The best show soundwise ever. You could hear every note, every word. The songs were killin'. The crowd had fun, the band had fun, they were joking around goofing and playing there asses off.
Man, Ringo just has a blast playing after all these decades!
RINGO has the fun personality that everyone likes. It gives the oldies a chance to play live which is what we all liked to do
at 75 I still rock to these oldies!
I repeat Why isn't the Guess Who in the Hall of Fame??????
