No offence but as someone from the RPGMAKER community it looks a lot like a first-time project using included assets and a collection of plugins from the community. I won’t talk of the illegal use of LoD IP to make profit on PATREON because I don’t think it will be profitable.

THIS, is RPGMAKER on steroids. THIS is what should get attention! Totally original with resources made from scratch.
Here I’m not saying it’s bad or anything (more like a rookie project like I said, nothing wrong with that) but seriously it wouldn’t get nearly as much attention if it didn’t have that title because it truly looks like a generic RPGMAKER game as it is right now despite the bunch of plugins.
In my opinion it would be preferable to keep learning the engine and then go with your own IP later when you feel ready, but as a test-project to learn development it’s pretty good and I wouldn’t have any problem with that if it wasn’t for the PATREON.

I've never been able to understand why Sony never saw the potential for this series. Such a good game. I've relayed like 10 times.
The original tram just stopped working on it for no reason not even the guy in charge knew from a few articles I have read a while back
It was a critical failure in Japan. It sold over one million units outside Japan, but looking at the total sales you can estimate that only a few thousand people in Japan played the game.
Same with Nintendo & Golden Sun. I mean, at least Golden Sun had more than one installment in the franchise, but still...

Much like the PSP, Sony shot themselves in the foot when they had an amazing product in hand
They actually did see the potential and even funded a second game, but it ended up in development hell and canned.
Seeing this just makes me wish Sony would remaster or remake this epic game.
Sony doesn't own the licensing for it anymore, sadly. So, we won't see that anytime soon.

Rumors are floating around that the Remake project Bluepoint is working on is well, a Legend of Dragoon remake. But I don't buy it.

150k views for the first video of a channel that was just born. What were the odds of a channel this small and a video this hidden to be seen by 150k people? And it was also a RPG Maker project, so not a real full remake. That shows how many people would want a remake of this. Imagine a real remake posted by Sony. The views in my opinion would be a lot.

@@alanvang2931 it probably would have been much better if it had released back on ps2 than on modern consoles now. back then it would still be very similar to the first game, having cool new additions and some added depth to the dragoon form options. if it were to release now it may turn out to more more of an action game than an rpg, which many people would probably like but it would ruin it for me.

Purely amazing Legend of Dragoon shall rise again one way or another and as fans we must each play our part I have introduced many people to Legend of Dragoon and I am in the process of writing a fanfiction that while following the main story it has new characters added in.

It seems we have the same goal. I've been working on a Dragoon remake in MV for quite some time, although I started with the Marshlands portion of the game as my demo, and I have no cut scenes. My focus has been on the game's underlying damage/balancing; the original game uses a divisor for it's damage formulas, which is why enemies have no defense stat in the original game, instead percentages were used for defense. I've been working for years trying to perfect this system. I found that by using this formula... (a.atk * a.atk * 5 / b.def +3) for damage calculation, and setting all enemies defense to 200, then adjusting to Physical/Magical Sp- Parameter for enemies will give you the most accurate replicate of Lod's damage system.

But the tragedy arrived, I lost the book and with it the years will give you work, now I am looking for enough motivation to start again, not even a photograph will take ... Finally what I was looking for was that this worldview will reach the big screen.

Fuck no. Star Ocean is also the superior tri-ace game. I also enjoyed radiata stories more than I did VP. Also, VP was good but VP2 was straight up mediocre.

Hi guys, I want to inform you that tomorrow we should release the new Demo covering all Hellena events. It was one of the hardest part of the game cause Hellena is not a regular map and has a lot of events, but we have done it. We have done the Prairie maps and we already have the sprites of the enemies so the next release should be soon after this, considering there are not so many events in that zone. Thanks to the guys that are helping me and to all patrons that support me.(I'll add you in the credits of the game) My goal is to give new life to The Legend of Dragoon, maybe if we achieve enough interest, Sony decides to create an official remake/remaster who knows.
Is this all done with RPG maker mv tools or did you program some stuff yourself?

Awe this is one of my fave PS1 games. Just hearing the music reminds me of the good days. Really can't wait for them to remaster this game. Been waiting for this game to come out for years
The jump sound made me laugh out loud, and at the beginning I thought it was a parody and not real, but then... man, this is just perfect. Keep developing, just change the jump sound, please, it sounds like raping the childhood.

Damn this actually looks awesome. If there is someway he/she can make the Dragoon Level up system better then this will truly be the perfect RPG
If you could implement that similar combat system would be amazing. But I loved anyway
You can see in the combat there literally was additions mode, and Dart did the double slash attack. So the ability of doing so is completely possible.

Well that just kicked my nostaligia into overdrive! My only issue with it is the fact that Additions use AP. They should have 0 cost to use. Otherwise, great sprites, excellent combat animations! Looking forward to seeing how you'll replicate the Dragoon transformations!... now then, where did I store my LoD discs...
I can say that AP system it's not the definitive system, if I can realize something more similar to the original game is better.
It's been a few years since I've messed with RPG makers, (rpg maker VXAce) but I vaguely remember adding an AP charge skill. I may be confusing it with mp charge.. anyway, if you could edit the additions so that they replenish all used AP, you'd have free additions then, right?
@@Xannolc1 I found a way to use them as equippable skill without ap, exactly like the original game. I am managing with the plugin now.

You know I loved the addition system and want to see it come back as additions. But in the case of this it's not really a huge deal. The additions when executed make the game s cake walk so make em strong and have em cost magic if it's always gonna work anyway. I remember getting gust of the wind dance down to where I could get it every time and your pretty much untouchable st that point if you can and that is not Albert's final addition

I like this, but I dont know the addition system was THE reason I loved this game. That and guard healing and the super limited amount of items you could hold. I feel like the option to avoid those things makes me sad, even sadder is limiting the number of times I could do additions. That said I can definitely see the strategic depth still present in the game. Gaurding to give your AP time to build for MORE double strikes and additions seems like an interesting compromise.

For what this is, pretty fine work. It's no hd remake or sequel, but there's a lot of charm in spritework. I'll be interested to see how far this goes, and if it ever reaches completion

I didn’t hear a sound effect of when someone is hit, but they’ve guarded. I can still hear the sound effect in my head clear as day even though it’s been years since I’ve played.

The jump sounds at the start do NOT fit the theme of legend of dragoon at all...
The Jump sound is default as replacing sounds in modern RPG makers is hard. All sounds used to be wav. and Midi in that day and age and they don't work on new makers. They have to be converted and as far as I know no resource exists to convert sound effects. Only music. Embarrassing really. It's why most MV games have amazing resources but default sounds unless a sound pack that's ready-made exists I do believe.

hey :) ! im a realy big fan of the legend of dragon even when the character models coul be a bit better but gameplay, story, characters, soundtrack etc. are totaly great. the most interessted character int his game is rose for sure.
and its cool to see that you make a remake of this game with the rpg maker. at the moment i can only criticicse that you can edit the hipsets so it fits more to the game but still its totaly ok.

This is great! I loved this game as a kid.
A bit of advice: don't take the dialogue verbatim. The original game's translation was pretty bad, and you could fix that in your remake.

That battle system is quite impressive for a picture based one. Though the menu icons need replaced it doesn't totally detract from the wonderful flow it has. Good remake! Would love to see your plugins list.
Sony needs the prequel, the dragoon wars 10,000 years prior to events of LOD, but I think they need to remake LOD first to create interest for the prequel.
