I would literally buy a new console just to play a remake. Imagine fully recorded dialogue? Epic. I'm happy with it being a standalone game, but I would seriously kill for a remake.
My words. I cant get enough of that Lore and Story. I played it recently and enjoyed it for the 10th time or so. I even bought it from the PSN Store to signalize to Sony that it can generate Money even after those years 😂 I would love a Prequel with the complete Dragon campaign in Detail and if that sells good enough they could use the engine and assets to make a follow up remake of the OG game. Cherry on top for me as a Monster Hunter Fanboy i want a collab to fight a Virage and get a Dragoon Armor for my Hunter character. Oh God i got driven away in daydreams that would never come true 😢😂
This was the game that actually hooked me on JRPGs (Legend of Legaia left a bad taste in my mouth before that). I would even go on to do an art project for a college course based on LoD. It was Inca History, and we had to make our own quipus (Inca record keeping devices, with certain information indicated by the weft of the fiber, color of thread, pendant threads, and number/types of knots). I was replaying LoD at the time the assignment was issued, and inspiration struck. My quipu highlighted the seven playable characters in the game, with knots and pendant threads detailing particular stats on my save file at the time. Had to deply, reply, and dye the threads myself (took about a week). Got an A on the project, and I think I still have the quipu in a drawer somewhere.
This was a nostalgia bomb. One of the first games my mom got for me when I was really little, I had no idea how jrpgs worked, but man it captivated my child brain. I adored the game as I got older and it's one of the factors in what made me love dragons and fantasy to begin with. 🤟
The fact this game never got a real remaster bothers me. One of the greatest games I ever played on my PlayStation. I still even have the original hard copy with the 4 disc
I was eight when this game came out. My mother passed away that same year and this game helped me deal with loss. This game will forever have a special place in my heart
It’s incredible that to this day, this game connects so much with a lot of my love for gaming since I was a child. I remember finishing the game over and over to hear the ending credits song. ❤ Thank you for this!
FAAAAAAAA MAN! thank youuuuuu very much! I was playing this game when I was like 6 to 9 year old.... A game that has a huge space in my heart. Thank you for this video! LOVE IT! Love to understand what was all about also lol
Melbu Frahma was the one who sealed the divine dragon in his prison. That's why its dragoon spirit chose dart in the final battle. He wanted to get a piece of Melbu.
This game is a relic of my childhood my big sister and I used to play it together it was one of our favorites it’s nice to know people still remember and appreciate it.
Excellent video. I have played this game so many times and never caught some of the details you brought out. Puts the story in a whole new light. Thanks.
I see The Legend Of Dragoon is gonna get the Legacy of Kain treatment....AN IM HERE FOR ALL OF IT. This. Channel really goes deep on its researchs and story and lore I LOVE it. And knowing this game is gonna get that treatments gimme goosebumps.... Can't wait for the rest of it 💪🏽.
Wow, this was incredible. I did not realize there was so much detail around the Dragon Campaign, and you pieced it all together so masterfully! The game's story was even deeper than I remembered!
I had been all nostalgic over this game again and busted out the PSX to play earlier...And here I find a fun video detailing the Dragon Campaign? Love the video, nice presentation, and a decent pacing allowed for it to be a comfortable listen in the background. Keep up the good work.
@@jeggsonvohees2201 I enjoyed it myself but I'm very divided on the Remake outright altering events from the original. That and changing story, character, and in-universe things due to possibly being "problematic" for modern audiences and other nonsense. For example, read up on the whole Honey Bee Inn thing with Tifa and Aerith. Really is some eyerolling stuff.
The lore of this game was insane. I hope it never gets a sequel. A prequel would be welcome thougj following zeig, Rose and the rest set in the time of the Dragoon Campaign
Severed Chains is worth it. Before long they're going to roll out upscaling, but they've got the game playable and there are already a couple of (optional) mods.
Ty for talking about this lost gems! Games like Legacy of Kain and Legend of Dragoon, should never be forgotten. I wish we had games like this for this generation. 🔥
Such a criminally underrated game. It's funny. I love the classic Final Fantasy games, and the Dragon Quest franchise. But there's just something about obscure JRPGs that always caught my attention. Skies Of Arcadia Legends was another one.
LOTD had sick soundtracks, fit for every location you passed by. Best JRPG game of all time back in the day, and wish this game get a remake that we all deserved
This was my first game on my ps1! I remember as a kid i loved dragons and this game was everything i could ask for! I never got to complete it however because of the multi disk thing, i got to the end of disc 2 and my 3rd didnt work 😩. I was able to play it again when they released it on ps3! Got to the same part ironically, and then my ps3s ssd decided to take a shit so i still couldnt play. Fast foward to 2024 i finally got a ps5 and saw this game on ps premium. AND I FINALLY BEAT IT! took me 2 decades but i did it! Game needs a remaster/remake/sequel/prequel. The story telling was magnificent so many twist and turns! This game would go bonkers if released on current generation!
Heyo, thanks for making the video! I've gotta provide one correction to keep the lore straight: Platinum hair is rare among Winglies. Lloyd and Meru have it, but most Winglies have white hair.
Great video! Thanks as always. Would really love a remake or remaster of this game, as of right now I don't think there's any way to play it besides emulators.
Fascinating as always. I would venture a slight disagreement regarding the Gigantos; judging by Kongol's general behavior, I tend to think the third person stuff is more an incomplete mastery of human language, and he is more intelligent than he appears. That aside, it never occurred to me that the Dragons were humanity's willing allies, as opposed to extremely powerful servants. In retrospect, I should have thought of it, if only because a Dragoon Spirit chooses its master. Which raises the question, why DID the Divine Dragon recognize Dart? Can't wait for the next installment.
@@1Tekkaman Indeed, he jumped in and got the spirit first. Dart got it once he was beat by the final boss. Does the Divine Spirit always side with the strongest perhaps? Maybe it also had something to do with Dart already having the Red-eye Spirit at the time.
@@barubary436 The funny part is the divine dragoon stone never glowed for Lloyd, which meant that it never recognized him as it's user. When Dart gained it from Lloyd it glowed. Makes one wonder, if the Red-eye only chose Dart because he is Zeig's son. If so that might explain why Zeig was much better at using it then Dart was.
@@trisertricordoh2127 The Red-Eye spirit didn't choose Dart. He had it for eighteen years and it never once shined in his hands. It wasn't until Rose forced the spirit to awaken that the Red-Eyed spirit chose to allow Dart to use it rather than kill him. (Rose says if what she'd done had failed Dart would have died) The Divine Spirit probably accepted him because he led a group of people to defeat it. Lloyd stole the final blow in order to create the spirit, but Dart and company were responsible for its death. By the time Dart gets the spirit, he has become one of the most powerful people in the world working hard to save it, protecting humans and fighting against Melbu.

Ya know I noticed that everyone spells and says Melbu Frahma cuz it looks and sounds exactly that. But in the cutscene with the dragoons fighting the Virages Zeig says “Mabel Frahma” and I wonder if that’s actually how you pronounce it or is it just an accent Zeig is using that makes it sound that way?
It's almost criminal that Legend of Dragoon was a single title and not an ongoing JRPG series.
Or at least a re-release. I would love a remastered version of this.
I would literally buy a new console just to play a remake. Imagine fully recorded dialogue? Epic. I'm happy with it being a standalone game, but I would seriously kill for a remake.

This game deserves a remake.
We should probably wait till _after_ DEI/ESG/BRIDGE is no longer an issue. Otherwise, we'd risk them tainting the IP, like everything else these days.
