Hi guys, I want to inform you that tomorrow we should release the new Demo covering all Hellena events. It was one of the hardest part of the game cause Hellena is not a regular map and has a lot of events, but we have done it. We have done the Prairie maps and we already have the sprites of the enemies so the next release should be soon after this, considering there are not so many events in that zone. Thanks to the guys that are helping me and to all patrons that support me.(I'll add you in the credits of the game) My goal is to give new life to The Legend of Dragoon, maybe if we achieve enough interest, Sony decides to create an official remake/remaster who knows.

@@marc0lin00 Si esiste, per il momento è disponibile solo per i patron, questo perché con quelle donazioni facciamo realizzare gli sprites dei personaggi e dei nemici in battaglia più altre cose in base alle esigenze del momento.

I would not trust any fan project to match the story design and proofreading of the original. (Unless it was done by me, but I have gone against doing fan projects because I feel people rely on them too much. Even movie producers are essentially cashing in on fan-fiction.)
Yeah. The story about Rose's birth, about beginning of Dragon Compain, about those 10000 years after Compain, about all those Moon Childs murdered by Black Monster, about Rose's last murder in Neet, and about Dart and Shana's way to Seles.
I have always loved this game ever since it first released and have always wanted to see a modern remake.
It's amazing to find someone with passion for Legend of Dragoon to really bring it the attention it deserves.

Amazing work. The game looks so far like almost a perfect 2D recreation of the original, which is impressive if you take into account RPG Maker limitations. Looking forward to seeing how the project proceeds.
BTW, did you actually manage to implement "Additions" as they were in the original game? Or what you show here are just automatic combo attacks without any player intervention?

Magnificent work. I do hope that you implement The Flying Zamboni's script overhaul in the final product. There is such potential here to make this a more definitive gameplay experience than a simple one-to-one reconfiguration of the original game.
And like others have said, there's a lot of potential to do a prequel game as well.
I know this sounds crazy but what about. Sequel prequel at some point then do a one to one of the original and then sell it as a pack

I'll be honest. I prefer the original in game art style. I respect the effort put into the pixel art version but there's something about the mature nature of the original. It has a soul I can't seem to shake. This game brings me back time and time again...keep up the hard work.
Seriously I've put more than 1500 hours into the original since it came out....I'm thirty now 🤔...anyways I've waited for any kind of Remake/Remaster of this game ever since the original came out, or even better a continuation...although maybe a prologue would be better...something set during the dragon campaign. Seriously though you guys are my heros for doing this. I Can't wait to see the final product. I saw a guy in the comments mention a tweak in the combat for the additions...and that's my only qualm so far....that's what really made the game stand out. I'm not real smart about tech stuff but could it maybe be for the additions...say for mobile....where you just tap the screen in time with the attacks..similar to tapping X in the original. As for the counterattacks...I'll leave that to the experts. Looks awesome as is though, I actually dig the look. Just a suggestion...maybe it's impossible to do...but remember in the original you could angle the camera during battle...is that something you can do? It's not a deal breaker but I remember at the start of every battle I'd put the camera how I liked it...in my head it made the additions easier when the camera was set behind my characters facing the enemies
Having attempted to create my own game "inspired by" LoD using RPG Maker MV I stand in awe of your work and dedication.

I love this game in a 2D style. The animations are looking grest and the additions look interesting. Dont know how intuitive it is. I hope developement is still progressing on this

I recently played this on my PS3 and the sounds and dialogue are nearly identical but I dont like that it seems like a pokemon game for the gameboy color. This is going to be the closest thing we ever get to an updated LOD game. Playstation wont be making a remaster/remake anytime soon. This is pretty cool though and I'm sure a lot of hard work was put into this!

All right this is pretty impressive. But im an little afrait about copyright stuff. The Intro and Music is clearly an 1x1 copy. Way too perfect for an selfmade Remake.
And even about remakes its kind of risky.
You clearly have amazing skills and efford, so maybe its smarter to make yust an similar Game using some of the Mechanics but having its own Heroes and Story.
Is it really not possible to implement lod combat system? Pressing the button in the right time to execute combos?
This game will be unbalanced with unlimited items unless you raise the price. With 99 potions, the challenge becomes almost non-existent.

They are having a Patreon to fund it. You can not charge money for a fan project, as far as I know.

I would suggest rather than having a basic attack function you utilize Yanfly's Weapon Unleash plugin. It would make it more authentic and requires very little in the way of alteration in the database.

sup pal log time no see you how is going the game? will be the stardust side quest available in the game ? or are you going to add more sidequest to the game?
The stardust quest will be in the game, you can find the first in Seles. We want to remake the game so I don't think we'll add more sidequests, but we'll see.
@@YouDigitalDream in the original game that was the only real side quest beside going for the transformation for kongol so i think it would be nise to have some of those but not the kind when you need to get back to the first town or something more like you go there kill a number of a certain enemy and get a bonus exp by claiming it in the next town or items meavy a quest when you can get the legendary helmet or armor that cost 10000 those where rly hard to get unles you farm for hours in the first cd there is a loot of things that can be inprobed if you need some ideas i can always help

We want to make the addition like the original game, so we'll remove normal attack and leave only the equipped addition.

All the overworld maps have the wrong angles. Ie, turning right instead of left to go around the corner in Seles. Or how the forest after Seles is just a big grid, instead of the unique map the actual game.
(Not like a 2D game needs the map of a 3D game. I mean that the directions of how to get through it should be the same)

I myself never played the OG game, but have read up about it enough to wonder if the OG's 2 most noted "flaws" are addressed: the rather low item cap, and Shana's lack of usefulness.
I have never verified it myself (mainly because I find their lack of Additions too boring), but I've seen a lot of players who claim that Shana/Miranda can actually become the most OP characters of the game if you use them right. Their forte are magic items, and if they are leveled up enough, they can deal a lot of damage with them.
Speaking from experience....playing the original game....I've put over a thousand hours into it. Anyways, yes I started out working with shanas' dragoon as soon as I got it. There are a few times when Shana is unaccesible to play as....story related stuff 😎. But once you get her dragoon to level five...the normal attack is still rather weak but her dragoon magic heals %100 hp of all characters and cures all,status ailments...and revive them if they're down, Plus her dragon attack is basically a one hit kill on any enemy besides bosses...same goes for Miranda when she swaps out for Shana. Another underrated character is Meru....chicks additions were tricky but her dragoon attacks were insanely powerful
@@calebmcvay4224 In my latest playthrough I gave Meru a chance and, despite I was about to lose my patience with her at the start because of her initial weak stats, she eventually became one of my default party characters. She is very balanced and, the fact that she can get more turns than the other characters, means that you can use her Dragoon skills more often, which comes in handy.
Also, while tricky indeed, I found her additions very fun. They are not as hard and frustrating as those of Haschel (their counters are always a pain to me, at least on a PC keyboard).
