Could something as simple as looking at your tongue help you determine if you could have a vitamin C deficiency? Check this out.

    0:00 Determining a vitamin C deficiency
    0:10 Scorbutic tongue
    1:00 Vitamin C deficiency
2:10 Other vitamin C deficiency symptoms
    3:05 Great vitamin C sources
Today we’re going to talk about how to determine a major vitamin C deficiency just by looking at the tongue. The name of this is called scorbutic tongue.
Scorbutic tongue is a combination of:
    1. Glossitis - A condition where the tongue is inflamed and has a shiny and sometimes red appearance.
    2. Red blotches - This is very tiny micro hemorrhaging of the blood vessels. You may also notice this in other places around the body.
Vitamin C deficiency starts off very gradually, and the more deficient you are, the more symptoms you have. You don’t really want to wait until you have all of the symptoms to do something about it.
It could take about a month of not consuming vitamin C for symptoms to show up. Other things can cause a vitamin C deficiency by preventing the absorption of vitamin C in the body. You may be consuming vitamin C, but your body may not be absorbing it, which could create a deficiency. Sugar can especially block the absorption of vitamin C.
    Other vitamin C deficiency symptoms:
    • Fatigue
    • Weakness
    • Sore arms or legs
    • Bleeding gums
    • Bone pain
    • Bruising
    • Red/purple spots
    • Loose teeth
Great vitamin C foods to consume:
    • Citrus (raw lemon juice)
    • Peppers (red and green peppers)
    • Sauerkraut
    • Greens
    • Parsley
    • Cabbage

And it's the first indicator something is wrong. The next step is finding the rest of the symptoms that narrow it down. I have 99% of the symptoms of adrenal fatigue and vitamin c deficiency. So i'm going to start taking a vitamin c supplement and see if I feel better. I know I need to go to the doctor and get tests done too.

I had a weird growth on my tongue. The growth was present for months. I saw this video and said wth. I don't have much to lose.I even went to the dentist and they told me to monitor the growth. I started taking 2 lipsomal vitamin C capsules and a spoonful of moringa powder every morning. This was last week. The growth not only shrunk.. it's almost gone. Thank you for educating people. Truly a blessing

In case it helps someone out there, there are presently many forms of Vitamin C being sold. Some have significant advantages and disadvantages based on one's condition(s). They are:
    ‌‌‌‌1. Ascorbic Acid
‌‌‌‌2. Ascorbate and Vitamin C Metabolites
    ‌‌‌‌3. Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids
    ‌‌‌‌4. Liposomal Vitamin C
    ‌‌‌‌5. Ascorbyl Palmitate
‌‌‌‌6. Vitamin C with Rose Hips
    7. Sodium Ascorbate
    8. Calcium Ascorbate
    9. Magnesium Ascorbate
If you are getting acid reflux and bowel intolerance with one form, try a form WITHOUT Ascorbic ACID.

For a couple of years I took lipsomal Vitamin C every day and it took me that long to finally figure out that the liposomal vit c gave me bloody noses. Those bloody noses were sometimes very scary as they wouldn't stop right away. Went to the doctor trying to find out why so many bloody noses and they had no clue. I decided to quit all supplements and after a few weeks no more bloody noses. Months ago I had the flu and so I again took liposomal vit c and I was ok for a couple of weeks and then the bloody noses started again.
I am very happily ordering Dr Berg's vitamin C because I know I need it and I trust his products!

"Chemistry of Vitamin C is very similar to Sugar" - That may not be entirely true.
The Glut-1 receptor for vitamin C is the same receptor that allows glucose to enter the cells. Because the cells have a greater affinity for glucose compared to vitamin C, if the blood glucose levels are elevated, the cells will absorb the glucose disallowing room for vitamin C to be taken up.

Had red spots on lower legs, muscle loss, lethargy, bleeding gums, and also a sore tongue. I take acerola cherry and greens powder. Doesn't seem to be having much effect. Just started on the homemade sauerkraut to see if that works better.

This is extremely interesting about type 1 diabetics. Take inbetween meals perhaps? I'm wondering if 3000 mg of sugar-free vitamin C is too much, per day?

Dr Eric Berg, would you please give the mg to all vitamins you want us to take. You will say, take Vit C or take Vit D3 but i need to know how much you want me to take. Example: I bought a bottle of Vit C - bottle stated 500 mg. It was too much for me, i really felt sick. Thanks

    • @tr0wb3d3r5
      @tr0wb3d3r5 4 роки тому

It varies from person to person, I take 1g Vit C, 10k Vit D3 and 120mcg K2 every day and dont have problems with.
Probably best to start low and go titrating up if needed to avoid problems.

Hmm that doesn't sound good, hopefully someone can help you. . .
Maybe also try an organic multivitamins pill that uses real food and not synthetic to cover a all your basis. Make sure you taking your electrolytes, your trace minerals...
You can easily get nutrient deficient on keto if you not eating enough vegetables or overlooking them.
Hopefully someone with experience can help you...

You probably need less fat and protein.... or way more fruits and veggies! Try making smoothies to get all your fruits and veggies!
Fat and protein are hard on your liver.

Are you following Dr Berg's diet? If you follow it closely you should eat 7-10 cups of vegetables per day, so this shouldn't happen. If you're following his diet then replace your fats by only avocados (so around 2 avocados per meal) and see if it resolves the problem. It should resolve the problem, but if it doesn't, then let us know.

But if you cook those vegetables that have vitamin c, you’ve destroyed the antioxidant because it’s heat-sensitive, right? Raw cabbage, is hard to enjoy. The sauerkraut is fine though.

Hi Hasan, over-the-counter (OTC) drugs are medicines sold directly to a consumer without a requirement for a prescription from a healthcare professional, as opposed to prescription drugs.
