    8 oz. boneless beef short ribs
    ** marinade for meat **
    1 Tbs. soy sauce
    1 Tbs. rice wine
    1 Tbs. cooking oil
    ½ tsp. sugar
    ½ tsp. white pepper
    1 tsp. corn starch
    3 Tbs. cooking oil for searing meat
    5 cups beef broth
    8 oz. fresh noodles (not parboiled or dried)
    ** toppings to cooked noodle **
    10 pcs. dried red chili pepper
    1 Tbs. red chili pepper
    1 Tbs. ginger, minced
    1 Tbs. garlic, minced
    ¾ cup cilantro leaves
    1 tsp. sesame seed
    ** making very hot spicy oil **
    ¾ cup peanut oil (has high smoke point)
    3 bay leaves
    3 star anise
    1 Tbs. Sichuan peppercorn

    Beautiful soup Chef. Kinda like the Chinese version of Campbell's chunky soup. Love the beef in it. I continue to make Chinese foods for the family. Recently bought discounted baby bok choy, mushrooms and celery so I've been taking advantage of it. With my mother in law health challenges, eating plenty of vegetables helps and slows the process. She loves it when it's stir fried and loves the smell when I add Chinese cooking wine to many of my dishes. See you next time Chef.

      You are smart to save money by buying ingredients when the price drops. ( they says one dollar save = one dollar earn ) I am glad your mother in law, loves your stir fry veggie.     I like the way you cook. Very tasty, simple, and fast. Just wonder about the soupe. It's getting cold while you prepare the spicy oil. Isn't it? I am also afraid for your mouth, 'cause of the big quantity of chili 😂😂. For my French taste, 5 times less is enough. Thank you, be happy my friend! 💜

      Yes, correct. We needed warm/hot and spicy soup for cold weather. You can reduce or eliminate those spicy ingredients if dislike . Thanks for appreciating my cooking and thanks for watching.

    is eating that much oil safe? could u use Oliver oil? i'd get diarrhea if i ingest that much oil in one sitting. what kind of noodle is that? is it low mein?

      Sichuanese don’t drink the spicy oil. They just lift the noodles for seconds and let the oil drip down before consuming. Noodles is not lo mein. Lo mein are parboiled . This is fresh from cutting machine. Thanks for asking.
