I think the role what we remember Leo in 5 years time will be Wolf of Wall Street. There is so much rewatchable stuff in that one. It keeps up. Brad on the other hand is the one id concur. This was his best role in years.

Once Bruce got thrown into the car the only guy on screen runs off and it seemed obvious that everyone scattered like cochroaches so they aren’t implicated once the boss shows up and sees her car destroyed. I didn’t read this as a dilution at all and upon rewatching I don’t see how you can.

Everyone disappeared in the Bruce/Cliff fight right after Cliff throws Bruce into Zoe Bell's car, you can see reflections of them taking off like "Holy shit, that's boss lady's car", so it may not be so much some aspect of Cliff's reimagining as much as self-preserved response of the crew watching
Yes. My take is that for sure it all happened like that and when looking back at it, Cliff realized he messed up and deserved to get fired. Him being able to take on Bruce Lee without any fear shows his character throughout the movie.

Offers a ride to a hitchhiker and turns down her advances. Looks out for an old man being taken advantage of. Takes good care of his dog, kills a bunch of homicidal maniacs. Never loses his cool. Only thing against him is some gossip about his wife.

If you were to have a different combo than Leo/Brad, my money would be on McConaughey/Bale. While I was intrigued by the RDJ/Depp team, Bale would kill the Pitt role, and McConaughey would be a great challenge for Tarantino to see what he can pull out of him. Leo dominated the role, but McCounaughey is a great actor, and would give a very interesting take on the role that I feel would have made a very good movie.

Leonardo DiCaprio is fantastic in this movie, I think he is better than Pitt here. Rick Dalton feels like a real actor you could have seen on the Dick Cavett show. I’d watch his interviews on talks shows like I go back and watch Orson Welles interviews.

We have heard so much of Bill making Sean uncomfortable about sexual situations in movies and finally, at 58:39 we see what it looks like. I am not disappointed.
Interesting interpretation that the Bruce Lee fight was all in Cliff's fantasy / mind. I still subscribe to the idea that it really happened though. I guess I just see it more literally as in the scene prior, Rick tells Cliff that there's not going to be any stunt work because the gaffer on the show is friends with Randy (Kurt Russell). Then when Cliff is on Rick's roof, we flashback to the scene that shows us why Randy is not a fan of Cliff & why he won't give him any work. Still room to interpret the Bruce Lee fight as imaginary but I think it happened (also) as it later sets up that the Manson buffoons clearly don't stand a chance against Cliff (which is pivotal), I mean he stood his own against Bruce Lee.
Yeah i think it definitely went down. What i think is exaggerated in Cliff's mind, that these guys totally missed, is the interpretation of Bruce itself. It's Cliff's memory on him (skewed because of his opinion of Bruce maybe), not full reality.

I don’t think it’s an interpretation, it just didn’t happen. If you go back and watch the scene he’s right, the people around him disappear halfway through the fight. Not sure how else you explain that other than that it’s just imagination and once he’s concentrating his mind on coming up with this Bruce Lee story he stops worrying about the details of it and everyone else goes away

I agree with Sean! It's the perfect what if movie! That's the first time, the three of you split your decision about who won the movie. I agree with Chris! Leo won the movie! I don't think of Leo and Brad's characters as bad guys. But they're definitely not good guys. They're somewhere in between. Margot Robbie's Sharon Tate is/was the goodness of Hollywood.
We have heard so much of Bill making Sean uncomfortable about sexual situations in movies and finally, at 58:39 we see what it looks like. I am not disappointed.

Interesting interpretation that the Bruce Lee fight was all in Cliff's fantasy / mind. I still subscribe to the idea that it really happened though. I guess I just see it more literally as in the scene prior, Rick tells Cliff that there's not going to be any stunt work because the gaffer on the show is friends with Randy (Kurt Russell). Then when Cliff is on Rick's roof, we flashback to the scene that shows us why Randy is not a fan of Cliff & why he won't give him any work. Still room to interpret the Bruce Lee fight as imaginary but I think it happened (also) as it later sets up that the Manson buffoons clearly don't stand a chance against Cliff (which is pivotal), I mean he stood his own against Bruce Lee.
Yeah i think it definitely went down. What i think is exaggerated in Cliff's mind, that these guys totally missed, is the interpretation of Bruce itself. It's Cliff's memory on him (skewed because of his opinion of Bruce maybe), not full reality.
@@MarkAS56 What's interesting about that way of thinking is that Cliff wouldn't really remember the great speech that Bruce Lee is giving about these fighters of colour that he's hyping up and respecting.
I don’t think it’s an interpretation, it just didn’t happen. If you go back and watch the scene he’s right, the people around him disappear halfway through the fight. Not sure how else you explain that other than that it’s just imagination and once he’s concentrating his mind on coming up with this Bruce Lee story he stops worrying about the details of it and everyone else goes away

holycowbatman10 I sincerely doubt it. I don’t think anyone of them would actually care, there were all being entertained by it and wouldn’t actually think about leaving for safety issues. Also, it’s within a matter of 2-3 seconds that EVERY person disappears, which isn’t logically possible, so it has to be an imagination thing.
