The 'brink of revolution' may well hinge on how we choose to implement AI in our society. If AI is leveraged primarily to benefit an elite minority, as we've seen with many technological advancements, we could be headed for significant social upheaval. I think that will be the final nail in the coffin.
Something is seriously f'ed when a dude with a long, long, long history of making money with the same man who has hand groomed JD Vance's VP selection and funded Trump's campaign election has his lead hedge fund guy come on podcasts to tell us something "strange" is happening out there. Are you kidding me??? Billionaires like Peter Thiel (and his "Paypal Mafia" buddy, Elon Musk) buying up social media entities, going on podcasts with former reality show contestants (Williamson) and hosts (Rogan) while supporting reality show hosts (Trump) for the highest job in the land is what is "strange" out there. Not only is all this strange, it is f'n weird that these dudes think they can pull the wool over our eyes and tell us up is down and black is white. Wake up, people...
I don't know if I understood that, fully. So, it's not to show you a fake reality and make you think it's real, which I think "fooling" is. But instead, instructing. As in, what, gaslighting? I don't fully comprehend. Got any ideas for me?
Yup its called KARMIC REPTRABUTION. The Sheep will VOLUNTEER to be DESCIEVED WITH OUT EVER KNOWING THE TRUE INTENTION. So its like EVIL people will be evil with out ever being noticed hahaha and lol they wont go to hell hahahah
@@father3dollarbillPeople are being instructed in the United Kingdom. They are unhappy with the mass illegal migration of foreigners who are roaming around cities in mobs with machetes unchecked by the police whilst those who complain about them on social media get sentenced to prison for multiple months. The latter is instructive in the same way yanking on the choke chain of a puppy makes it into an obedient dog who loses the impulse to think for himself. The former demonstrates an injustice of two-tier policing which is an apparent _de facto_ enforced authoritarianism extending out of a _status quo_ which gave forces more powers under the pandemic lockdowns, and if you question it you are islamophobic and if you complain about exhibitionists cavorting in front of small children then you are transphobic. It is intolerable, but thankfully I got banned from Twitter for questioning who really shot at Trump. So much for free speech, Elon.
As one of the aforementioned hillbillies from Kentucky, I was stunned when Eric started talking about my home and my people and the demoralization and depression we've faced for decades. It's refreshing to hear someone mention us on a platform as big as this. Corporations came in and stripped our resources and then left us for dead. Coal camps, company script were the slavery he was referring to. The government never gave a shit about us. All I can feel is cynical towards America. If there's a politician who does care, they'll be assassinated. The tragedy is waking up on a planet full of wonder and mystery and excitement, and the next moment realizing you have to go do some bullshit you hate all day because the psychopaths managing reality just see you as a piece of meat to rape for their profit.

It’s a bit of theater in America. They tell you to be terrified of the unknown and support wars everywhere. But the greatest country in the world can’t even take care of its own citizens yet we can supply the world with weapons to bring us closer to WW111.
Hi there Mr Hillbilly - don't be sad/cynical. When I saw Harris on the horizon I promised myself (and others) I'll never be cynical again and stop me if I am. Watched a fair bit when it came out and again now . Eric likes to play the maestro/pied piper alright, but what he saying are immutable truths ...or immutable truisms . Either way he has a fair idea of how the political and social landscape lays in the US
Every day, I say "today is the day I will not think of these things - I'll give it a rest". But, then I can't seem to turn away. I am so torn between just controlling what I can control and thinking that if I don't pay attention then I will be part of the problem.
I know people like that, and I'm the same. Some people can do that with no problem. others, like myself (in the past), can't seem to decide which path/way to follow. To pay attention, otherwise we think we're part of the problem. Or don't and only focus on what we can do. There is a way to do both and not suffer. It's a mindset. I won't bore people with a long post, though.
I’m so fcking tired of it all. Lied to, poisoned, corruption - all of it in front of your face and no one can do anything about it? I want to get away from it all, I have no social media, and I still can’t.

As someone with at least one foot remaining in academia as a physicist, Eric's comments about how ideologically captured that field is is spot on. One of the things that surprises me is how fast people go from thinking critically and in detail about their own field/research, and then as soon as a subject with political connotations comes up the brain turns off and the orthodoxy emerges.
@a.cameron207 Hi Cameron, I agree completely, and I've never heard anyone voice those thoughts. I've been thinking the exact same thing for a long time. It's very refreshing to hear someone say that. Highly intelligent, productive people, using their brains all day long, the moment politics enters the equation, none of that intellect or common sense seems to bleed over. It's always confounded me.

That is the Fear of that " World Order " , and that they will do ANYTHING to prevent Trump from being certified as President again, if he is duly elected by the Electoral College. It is also fortunate that our Founding Fathers were aware of those that would come along like Weinstein in his Ivory tower, and to beware of them. It gives me such hope, to continue to offer myself, as myself, to a culture that wakes up to demoralize and destroy the beauty of simplicity. Thank you for your offering, of each conversation!
I am about 50 minutes and it's obvious Eric is trying to sound smart without making any point at all. Apparently he thinks the government knows enough about physics to trick the smartest physicists in the world to work on string theory for 5 decades?
The good or bad thing about hearing Eric Weinstein speak is that you can’t listen to him on autopilot. Paying attention through the entire conversation is a must...

These talks with Eric are some of the most important talks we're having about our society. I wish more people would have these conversations in this manner.
I don't believe in some careful balance. I believe there are people making self centered decisions and they are exploiting each other. The Democrats publish talking points for the team and they all have to repeat those points if they want to be part of the party.
I'm here to leave a positive comment. I struggled at times with the conversation intellectually, I understand my own limitations. Listening to this conversation pushes me. That's positive. Well done. I know I'm not the only one who felt this way.
You're not alone! Yes, you will be challenged, we all are when these two are engaged. Society needs examples of proper discourse with tough topics that question narrative that defies logic or reason. UA-cam is great for the ability to stop, reference check, contemplate, digest and continue. This podcast introduced some high level concepts and went further than expected into the complexity of the systems at play. I personally believe this podcast is a must watch, in it's entirety regardless of how long it takes.

Thank you so much, Chris, for having these conversations with people who have extraordinary insight into things, and aspects of life, that is rarely being talked about in public space. I genuinely enjoyed listening to you and Eric Weinstein, so thank you for having him. 👍 Thank you, Eric, for doing these conversations. It is soothing for my mind to listen to you because you aren't afraid to go into not-very-often-charted territory. There was one point that really surprised me in this conversation (I wouldn't call it an interview in the traditional sense, and I mean that as compliment); it was when Eric said that most people go through their whole lives without listening to their inner voice. I had to stop the video and ask myself if that is true....if that can possibly be true? I've never considered the idea but always took for granted that _of course_ everybody have had to listen to their inner voice at least every now and then, and that it is fear that makes them censure themselves and block it so they can continue to function as obedient members of their respective societies; members who wouldn't dream of making ripples in the agreed fabric of reality. The only individuals among us human being that I thought never listens to their inner voice are the psychopaths; they don't because they don't _have_ an inner voice. But the rest of us? How would this really be possible?... To go through life without ever having listened to your inner voice? If this is indeed true - and I will give it sincere consideration because I am so much on the same page as Eric and can tell he is honest about the things he says (I am not talking about the possible implication of the things he doesn't say because Eric too live in the world that most people view as the only reality and he has to be wise about what he says and how he says it) - it will be a factor that changes the way I look at this shared reality of ours. The more I think about this it becomes clear to me that I too have been heavily influenced by the narrative that my host-society has created and kept an iron grip on since sometime back in the 1980es or mid- to late 1970es. But - enough about me, I was just really surprised. :)
The first 12 minutes of this podcast blew my mind. I had to stop it after an hour to digest what was being said. This morning I started it again and the first 12 minutes hit harder than the first time I listened to it, so I stopped and listened to the first 12 minutes again. What I think of it comes down to this quote: “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety” Benjamin Franklin I could write a 1000 word article on this, but Eric Weinstein says it more concisely, eloquently and brilliantly than I ever could. Suffice to say, the rules based international order structures that were put in place to keep the world from war and keep the markets open (post WW2) have hit a wall. It’s also obvious to all, that trying to push through that wall is causing the status quo to collapse through the implementation of population control tactics. Though they’ve kept them more or less in place through the illusion of democracy, the deep state is fearful that you can’t keep international alliances and agreements stable with someone at the helm (a populist candidate) willing to risk changing the status quo. The problem of course now is the rot eating at the core of these institutions tasked with keeping the status quo, is only growing and has been for decades. The warmongering, the money laundering, the criminal activities are so blatant at this point that the American public have become the human shields (and victims) of the deep state. These international agreements and interests are giving license to these players to feel justified in abominable behaviors, operations, crimes, and thefts, while hiding them behind claims of national security and the democratic process. Slowly over decades they’ve managed to turn over the safeguards of the constitution to maintain their illusionary visions of keeping the world safe.
I think it's worse than that. They are just looting the system because they know it will collapse soon. All of these machinations are designed to milk the last little bit. Once that is done they will default on the debt and usher in the new totalitarian regime. It will be easy, because everyone will be starving.
That’s what I was pondering too. Are they trying to maintain the status quo because that’s the only thing propping our system up? Or are they doing it to keep themselves in power? Some of both maybe? I’m going to listen to the beginning again myself.

Eric is touching on a key point here, that Trump is a Nationalist, not a Republican or Democrat, and is against the agenda of the Military Industrial Complex
Not anymore - for Trumps entire life until 2020 he was a nationalist, that’s what MAGA is about, and “America First” is about. However, after they kept raiding him, having the FBI bust into his property and fake photos of “classified” documents, have DA’s in NYC target him unconstitutionally and get ridiculous NYC juries to convict him for a misdemeanor accounting issue that was already past the statute of limitations, DA turned it into a felony and he got convicted / fined insane money - a clear weaponization of the judicial system, literal banana republic stuff - and why? Because he wasn’t compromised, he wanted to put AMERICANS first, he questioned the purpose of NATO and why America is primarily funding it while all the European nations rip us off and give their citizens universal healthcare and tons of social benefits because they don’t need to maintain their own defense industry - Trump upset the corrupt global order - globalists, internationalists etc and they’ve attacked him ever since. This time around he’s become much softer in his approach, he’s staying away from all those hit button issues, and most importantly he’s taking HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS from special interest donors - especially from Israeli interests. Trump is now MUCH more like a standard Republican, they’ve apparently captured him like they capture everyone - he wants to allow MORE “legal” immigration and H1B visas, costing more Americans their jobs…. He’s not the same Trump anymore at all.
Trump made a back room deal for a second term. He supports Israel and stops the Ukraine conflict while also resupplying nato with more European money involved. He also agreed to step up the domestic surveillance and do nothing regarding section 230 and free speech. He may talk about free speech but he will make no move outside of talk to protect it.

He is the one person who has the largest budget with me. He’s earned it and then some. You allow him to be free and to be himself, Chris. I really appreciate that. He often ends up bogged down by the person he is in conversation with instead of being given the space to bring his vast knowledge and unique experience of the world to bare in trying to make sense of the strangeness we are all living in.
I agree to a degree. I don’t appreciate Chris interrupting him like a kid trying to regurgitate or toss in other points, to appear as smart or smarter. Chris can be a tiresome host. He stops the thought flow and changes directions way too often. I wish he’s host the conversation with a less invasive approach.
Once public knowledge is held to a standard of honesty that matches our authority, We the People will come back into our power, and the gov't criminals will no longer influence our lives negatively or be able to hide their crimes. Then, and only then will the division between two "factions" of Americans be smoothed by knowledge into unity. It can't be fixed with criminal dirt acting as if THEY are "helping' us. Trump will return suddenly and the criminals will fry. We've KNOWN something was wrong, before the vietnam war cost so much that all that printed money forced Tricky to dissolve gold convertibility and ensure that inflation moved us into poverty. There was literature to hand out en mass. We never said who we voted for, as that is SECRET for a reason. However, our lifestyle and actions usually reflected how one might vote. It worked better in society and for family gatherings. Now, the attacks to outright estrangement have gone berserk. Canadian BTW. I still keep my vote private. However, I did have to vote different in my 50 years of voting to oust a party. I've always voted according to platforms plus actual performance, history of good performance. Now, the evil has grown into unrecognizable as even possible.

I have to comment again: Eric says he was a B- student. My expensive school told that I was "ineducatable". Yet I graduated from Oxford in the subject I found most difficult - economics, despite being hopeless at math (I still have no idea how I passed math). And I've had a 40'year career as a quantitative analyst/economist. So I find Eric's story heartwarming and relatable. Great interview. Thanks.
It's like he said you leverage the thing you are good at. Maybe it was an inhuman degree of persistence, or patience, or making your own analogies to understand rather than memorizing for a test. The funny thing is there's a lot of examples of this part of intelligence being a distinguishing factor, but as a society we still like to reduce it down to how you do on a test. And determining often at the earliest moment possible if you're a "failure" at this attribute, and let that determine your entire future. I guess you found some version of the "cheat code." Good on you.
The same thing was said about Thomas Edison when he was kicked out of school. Me thinks he was too smart for the public school system and intimidated teacher by default.

Grades are not indicative of intelligence. Grades are indicative of how well you regurgitate what any teacher/professor wants you to regurgitate on things that are given a grade. No adult with a high IQ has difficulty understanding this, as long as that adult has about 3-3.5 decades of experience under their belt and their eyes open.
Mr. Weinstein. I am not an American. I am an Dutch guy who for the last 40 years studied everything what i could about what was happening behind the screens. Like the coup in Iran to get rid of the Shah. And everything around that. And so so much more. I want to speak out that i have an incredible amount of respect for you. Not once have i heard something put it all so together as you. It even shocks me how right you are. Those behind the screens wants to still keep the veil closer. Even if that means the death of millions and millions of innovent lifes lost. We are at the brink of some sad times. With terrible suffering for many.
I disagree with the "Trump is really intelligent" he's instinctive not a thinker. He will say and believe 2+2=22 if he thinks it will get the right reaction. The people who worked with him in the past administration all say the same thing he's dangerous to reinstate as POTUS because this time around he knows to surround himself with people who won't or cannot oppose him not to mention his mental decline as described by high profile psychologists. As bad as or imperfect things are under Trump for the USA and the world it would be analogous to a cancer cell taking control of the body it won't evolve into a better system. Wars can bring catastrophic and uncontrollable change but Trump can be avoided. Plus is having a fraudster and convicted rapist as your leader how you want to be represented on the world stage. Trump may not be a lizard person but he's very close 🦎

How can a human being be so! Fascinating, funny, sharp and eloquent. I set on the edge of my seat , literally, for almost the entire episode. That was one of the best, most unique, complex conversations I've seen in a long time! Thank you.
This was 3 and a half hours of pure wisdom and insights into the very confusing world we live in now. Eric and his brother Bret are two men I have the upmost respect for. This may have been the most overall interesting podcast I've ever watched/listened too.
@@trevorryan2591 I generally need 1.25... but for some reason, I'm having to pause to listen and then process everything he's saying. I almost wonder if I'm being hypnotized by this subject matter. Does he want to confirm everything we believe to be true, but then tell us we need to just accept and live within the reality that's been created for us?
I agree, but for the wrong reason. Eric is like audible porn --- sounds really nice at first glance but completely empty of meaning, and then you feel kinda dirty afterwards.
Got into a discussion with a liberal along the lines of bias in the work place. I asked, "Go into work tomorrow wearing a MAGA hat and see what happens." He responded with "Shit, I would be fired before I got to my desk." he trailed off at the end realizing what he had just said. It was a Red Pill moment.
I've already lived that reality. I worked for a healthcare company for 10 years. I knew most of the team were Democrats. I managed to make them believe that I didn't follow politics at all until we were doing a Zoom call and when I went to share my screen, I goofed and had a browser window open that had a pro-Trump page up and a bunch of the people on the call got all weird and quiet. The next day, a few of them kept bringing up derogatory "maga" topics like they were trying to get a response out of me. One of the guys I work with let it out that he was Republican and it shouldn't matter what I believe. They eliminated both our jobs (we are software engineers and we were already understaffed). Luckily we got a severance and I had enough saved that I haven't had to go back to work yet.
@@StrangersIteDomumthat's not cognitive dissonance. Liberalism is not inherently meritocratic. Meritocracy ideals are liberal by category, but that doesn't make them one in the same. Liberals believe in 'personal freedoms' and "equity" above all else, not pragmatism. Otherwise they would be the 'pragmatic' party rather than the "liberal" party.

My god there is still emotionally intelligent /high IQ people having a civil conversation on the internet how refreshing. This is what I expect from our politicians this is what Americans deserve.
Not really, just need politicians who actually care and work for the people, accountability and getting rid of the corruption. A majority of the problems are the intell agencies and federal reserve which have allowed the USA to destroy half of the world
Why would any of you expect a politician to be concerned with anyone but themselves? I am not being cynical; it’s just the nature of the beast. Politicians are not leaders; they are there to consolidate and continue power and influence for their own and benefactors interests. Not ours.
The dems are rarely held accountable. Such egregious circumstances need to be righteously dealt with but I suspect Roman's 1 is in play. We have wisdom to know and let God deal. It's almost over. Seek, and you will find. Jesus is Lord. Knock, and he will open the door.
Genuinely and thoroughly enjoyed this.. thank you I do have to say as a three time breast cancer survivor... I had no insurance and so was denied by many entities for getting reconstruction. So..these surgeries spoken of in your conversation.. However..it has helped me become stronger in many ways..
I mowed the lawn, cleaned the kitchen, and did laundry. thank you guys for helping me do all that. Now if I could just get 3 more hrs I could clean my room too.
At the beginning, Weinstein talked about 2 kinds of conflicting democracy, popular and institutional. Our founding fathers addressed this. They said democracy means majority rule, which always ends in tyranny. This was a known fact back when people were truly educated. So they gave us a constitutional republic instead, which gave us choice but more of a cushion against tyranny. Even so, the people must occasionally fight and correct a system that becomes corrupted over time. We are overdue now.
Man oh man. The last 30 or so minutes was just jaw dropping. This man’s brain is on a level that mankind will one day wish it never lost. Thank you Eric and Chris.
I hadn't heard of either Chris or Eric before but I'm ending up watching the entire, very long interview. It's truly refreshing to hear two good, highly intelligent men have a calm, reasoned discussion on many interesting topics. A genuine thank-you to both.
You have a lot of catching up to do then! Brett Weinstein, Jordan Peterson, Douglas Murray… You could start with the beginning of Dave Rubin’s show and just binge the first 5 years.
I'm 29 minutes in and this is everything I've been waiting for and more so far. Thank you Eric And Chris for this. Everyone in America need to watch this. This needs to be shown in every high school
As a highly intelligent ,yet mostly self educated individual I knew string theory HAD TO BE HORSESHIT . Because I have tried for years to understand it and could not grasp any concept of it . Thsnk you Eric for finally informing us high IQ but not highly educated people . At 67 years old I try to learn EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE !
Agreed. While it’s clear he’s a very smart guy, it’s more important that he’s genuinely inquisitive and is asking questions to consider the answer, not to signal his own belief. Similar to Rogan, and likely why they’re both popular.
I like him as a person but he's not a good fit for interviewing this guy. He just isn't, he needs to stop pretending he knows what Weinstein is talking about half the time and just ask questions. I can tell when Weinstein is losing him, and Chris is too insecure to say "what does that mean?", anywhere near to the extent necessary for him to truly follow along.
Eric's description of competing democracy definitions (5:45 to 7:15) is a thing of beauty - he perfectly puts into words what a lot of us have known to be true for a long time.
This was very thought provoking, I'm glad it showed up on my feed. Sometimes 3 1/2 minutes is too long to watch someone talk, but in this case, 3 1/2 hours wasn't long enough.
I am wide awake after finding this conversation on here, Thank you, Eric, for giving me a different perspective . Thank you, Chris, for conducting this talk, well worth my time.
I spend more time pausing Eric's discourse to look up his ideas, acronyms, tropes and memes than I do on entire podcasts by some people. And Chris' willingness to open himself up to be instructed and corrected is key to what I learn. Chris stands in for us, using his own intelligence and knowledge to grease the wheels. We can never know how authentic Eric is being, but even if he is, at times, playing a role, speaking in allegories (rather than truly laying himself bare) there is no question that his intentions are pure. Thank you, both of you.
I have a really bad habit of starting Eric Weinstein podcast episodes 15 minutes before the bed time I was planning for and then getting 3 hours less sleep than I was hoping for
Chris I'm only about 15 minutes in and I want to recognize you for how much you've developed as an interviewer, particularly for a guy like Eric. So far, you've really let him speak, you've prodded for specificity. World-class and well done
Thank you very much for this UA-cam. This is the second viewing of this work in its entirety. I made it out of 1965 high school by the skin of my tooth. But following your work validates to me that I am not nearly as stupid as my high school teachers constantly told me I was. Eric, you are a breath of fresh air in that I believe you feel you are talking to adults and not children. I will say you have changed what life this 78 year old has left. The highest compliment I can give a person with my limited knowledge is that I would love to float around with you in a small boat fishing for Bass or Crappie. God Bless you and I pray the Force continues to shine on you and yours.
Wow I truly relate to your comment as well. Just found this, maybe the powers that be thought I would ignore this. Nope I love a challenge, like you both do.
I have to say, you literally came up with the best idea ever- to sit in a boat with Eric, undistracted, just to listen to him think, and have time to ask him my own questions. I guess we should buy his book. Lol
i love Eric- as a Right leaning Republican, his intelligence and composure is the quality opponent we deserve. I wish the left was more like him, we are all Americans first and we should at least fundamentally agree that we strive to be better no matter what side your on.
@@glamoagency5642he’s by all former standards left leaning. As I could say for myself and many others, however, now we are no longer considered left. We aren’t the ones who have moved. The goalposts have.
@@Avas_2cool4u: That's right. Too few people realize that American "conservatives" are trying to _conserve_ the best parts of a _liberal_ revolution/experiment. ("Classical Liberals," they're sometimes called.) Meanwhile, the American left, who formerly called themselves "liberals," have given up on anything liberty-oriented. They are now _totalitarian leftists_ (but, in Orwell-speak, that's called "progressives"). This means the American left are no longer liberal. That means that the American right are the only remaining liberals, and they're trying to _conserve_ the part of liberalism (the "classical" part like free speech, right-of-conscience-to-dissent, Federalism, economic autonomy, and firearms rights) which the left-liberals either have abandoned (freedom-of-speech) or never supported (economic autonomy and firearms rights). That's how it happened that the Democrats became anti-liberal, while the Republicans, who once didn't _seem_ liberal because their _form_ of liberalism was Burkean (pro-traditions, pro-non-governmental-communities), are the _only game in town_ for those who're still liberal.
It's conversations like this that simultaneously soothe my soul and terrify it at the same time but ultimately remind me that I'm not alone noticing the insanity.
What bothers me, my gf, desires to live in blissful ignorance to all of it. And blames corporate greed for what most all Americans are facing. I can’t change her mind, I can only keep being me. But can’t help but think, that there are a lot of people out there just like her. That choose to ignore what may be on the horizon.
No alone for sure. My wife keeps complaining about me, my highlighting(?) all the "issues", i.e. too many to name here, the condition of America and the world, but I still try to explain, educate yet, it is times that try men's souls. Sometimes it's like watching the waste in the toilet go round and round, as the water rushes over it and the final sound as it goes bye bye in the dark hole in the bottom of the abyss(toilet). God helps us all.
15 years ago: "Its just a small number of people. And theyre not bothering you!" Today: "That small number became teachers/politicians/judges. And now theyre forcing this decadence onto your kids." Ron DeSantis said it best; if you have a small problem, solve it before it becomes a big problem!"
I've heard a lot of people speak who sound more educated than intelligent. This man is not one of them. I love how he recalls songs that are relevant to the conversation. There are so many complex thoughts that are distilled well in good music. It's astounding that so few people do this.
@Rockall__ Read it in a leadership book. Smart people don't know how to make people follow them because they cannot articulate what theyre thinking to influence people to follow them. In other words, they struggle to get other people to see their vision and describe their vision.
I occasionally come across Weinstein posts on twitter but he is much far better in this long format. I am so impressed as how he can explain and communicate it all to an average guy like me. I didn’t wake up somewhat until after the great financial crisis but started to really become concerned in during trumps campaign in 2015 and more concerned as I became aware of Elliot wave theory in 2017. I can definitely see the unraveling explained at 41:00 as the dollar index collapses. The pivot is coming in the coming months. Elliot wave theory is excellent in understanding what will happen to assets over time and into the future and this man puts it into words but may not have the timetable that Elliot wave theory provides. Feel free to hate on the comment you took the time to read, I’m just a dummy and wish everyone the best. If you can’t get out, become more self sufficient and stay safe. Getting real close to the monetary reset now (12-15 months I hope) Good luck.
This was the best 3 and a half hours I've spent in a long time. Thank you to Chris and Eric for having this conversation on this platform. The way these two would just build on each other's idea instead of the usual jockeying for position was so refreshing and informing. I really can't say enough good things about this. Well done to both of you.

Chris, Eric's recent episodes have been absolute MONSTERS. Enthralling, riveting. Almost every second or third sentence he's coming out with something that makes me pause the video and sit there thinking for a few minutes. He's obviously found the door, and it seems like he kicked it open and walked straight through. Once you see it, you can't un-see it. His idea of "pro-life and pro-choice people should get a room"... spot on. This is exactly how I feel too. I don't work in absolutes anymore, I try very carefully not to use words like "always" or "never". There's always a middle ground. A middle way. In fact - speaking of "the middle way", it might be worth getting a Buddhist scholar on the show, to talk a bit about that concept. Love your work as always, I'll see you in Australia in November!
2:22:30 I started crying and paused the video to thank you and Eric. I believe the story Eric shares reveals one of the most significant human superpowers that our culture and society has deliberately obfuscated from the day we begin our individual accumulation of 'knowledge.' It's been alluded to in parables and bumper stickers, but Eric cracks the code in his telling. We are so much more than we've been limited to believe, our fear of failure and the consequences of non-comformity have dulled our instincts and shamed our individual reach for everything that lies beyond the 'given'. I hope many others got to 2:22 and not only shed tears of recognition - but resolve to own the lesson. Thank you Chris and Eric, the message I heard - and the love with which it was delivered - means more than words can convey.
Life is an illusion of choice, but that's too deep for most people to really consider. Eric, like just about everyone else on every side of every issue, continues to find a way to profit off his own narrative.
And who would ever have thought it, but Alex Jones said it 35 years ago... brilliance can quickly become an understatement when it comes to these incredible minds. May God protect the brave who are both outspoken AND 'out there', where millions can hear it, in the face of a demonic monolithic global entity.
Love Chris and Eric so much. One of the few places to find decent, civil people talking politics, for example, without spewing hate and attacking others. Talking about tough questions and individual issues is important - rather than just following one party line or the other.
We've had the democratic portion of our gov't stolen by lackey's of the luciferian global elite, stolen from us by people who are projecting that loss of democratic influence on Gov't policies onto We the People who need to have that influence to continue FORCING those gov't criminals to do what WE need. Worrying about hate for the destruction of our lives is starting at the wrong end. Things are being fixed by our beloved military leaders (the only ones able to bring honesty back to gov't). We will soon be required to stay inside and let the needed changes be made to our information sources by our patriotic military men. It's happening now, and by 2025, we WILL have our the democratic part of the republic back. Thinking that we can go on forever without productivity to support the butt-sitter's "free lifestyle" is foolishness that has been activated in the early 1980's and our expenses covered by "borrowing" fiat money from bankers who just counterfeited it from thin air until a complete collapse is inevitable and now upon us. It will get ugly and the matrix curtain will come down in less than a month. Get ready and don't be too surprised about the inability of curtain between We the People and truth to be maintained.
thats why it is an age old story from the first of our democracies, he is just recalling the wisdom that existed previous to our new age where everything is a meme, and forgotten quickly, replaced by the new meme, and if not there is a tight knit group who will go back and remove the meme, and all traces of it, so nobody learns anything from it!
After listening to Eric & Chris for 3 hours I am both alternately inspired and tragically, existentially terrified! This has been one of, if not the, most important discussions I've been party to. With all my heartfelt civility, gentlemen, I thank you.
Thank you, but also... now what? We just accept it and stop trying to tell the others? Ignorance really is bliss... but we didn't come here at this time in the history of our souls just to mind our own business.
I still have faith in humanity. It will be slow, but I don’t think humans respond well to being dumbed down, and they’ve taken it too far. People are starting to feel it. They don’t know what it is, but something is up. I wish I had another 60 years to be part of whatever happens!
Chris - I don't know you other than this podcast, and others of yours I've watched. From what I have seen, I would never say that you come across as pandering to your guest. Despite being incredibly sharp minded and precise with your language, you don't ever seem to argue or be rude to people. You are unpretentious, and never imply that you are omniscient with your language. It is refreshing and approachable. I appreciate you, and hope you aren't being too hard on yourself. There is a shortage of good English manners, and we need as much as we can get here in the U.S. Thank you
Listened to this after listening to Russell brand. Don’t get me wrong, I like Russell, but I kept having to do a double take on this podcast. So calm, composed, spacious, unpretentious, lacking in ADHD 5-in-1 questions 😂... What a contrast!! ❤ ps . I also have ADHD , so I know what to look for 😉
I like Eric but there are some obv holes in his reasoning. People were willing to take a lark/shot on trump in 16. He's a known quantity as a pol now. And despite what hardcore trumpers say--they are not a majority of the country hell they're not even a majority of republicans more like somewhere around half. Just another faction. If all of the populist/silent majority rhetoric were true he wouldn't have lost last time and wouldn't be in a street fight this time. He'd be sitting pat on an obv landslide. Everything is not a conspiracy. Being on the podcast circuit/trying to stay relevant somehow in a part of it and he has to continually find a way to tell a certain segment something along the lines of what they want to hear. He knows all too well it can be swiped away if he goes too far off-script.
Alexander valdimer kowaliuk here, it's incredibly important the both of you spoke about all the election issues and unspoken truths. I pray healing for both sides , and yes the devil is all to re😢al he spent time on wall street back in the coke days he also is a beach goer with the most handsome body you not imagine in your wildest dreams.
I don’t know why, but I find this guest to be one of the most fascinating, interesting and entertaining people to listen to. He has a way of speaking the keeps you on the edge of your seat and begging for more.
In all three cases, Pol Pot, Stalin, and Mao embraced a version of the belief that societies could be remade by breaking with the past. The quote, “What can be unburdened by what has been,” captures the essence of their efforts to destroy history, culture, and people in the name of creating a new order. Their methods of “unburdening” were extreme, often leading to violence, oppression, and the death of millions, as they sought to erase the past to impose their vision of the future.
3 great role models! Let's go for a fourth! I prefer the version of illusion without an overt attempt to "relocate" (read: dislocate) 10mm + human beings. Just sayin' ...
So the 2nd democracy that is supposedly in place to hold up the foundations of democracy one is now purposely trying to destroy democracy one. All the American ideals, traditions, sovereignty, and culture are being puposely destroyed. They are done with the allusion of a democracy. "We fight not against men but against principalities and dominions of darkness"-God Evil has come out of the darkness, it isn't going to hide or pretend anymore. God help us.

The 'brink of revolution' may well hinge on how we choose to implement AI in our society. If AI is leveraged primarily to benefit an elite minority, as we've seen with many technological advancements, we could be headed for significant social upheaval. I think that will be the final nail in the coffin.
Looking forward to this
Something is seriously f'ed when a dude with a long, long, long history of making money with the same man who has hand groomed JD Vance's VP selection and funded Trump's campaign election has his lead hedge fund guy come on podcasts to tell us something "strange" is happening out there.
14 minutes in and Weinstein said the smartest thing I've ever heard him say. "They aren't trying to fool you, they are instructing you".
I don't know if I understood that, fully.
So, it's not to show you a fake reality and make you think it's real, which I think "fooling" is.
But instead, instructing. As in, what, gaslighting? I don't fully comprehend.
Got any ideas for me?

As someone with at least one foot remaining in academia as a physicist, Eric's comments about how ideologically captured that field is is spot on. Thank you so much, Chris, for having these conversations with people who have extraordinary insight into things, and aspects of life, that is rarely being talked about in public space. I genuinely enjoyed listening to you and Eric Weinstein, so thank you for having him. 👍
Thank you, Eric, for doing these conversations.
@@JackDavidsen I was thinking the same thing! I can’t believe that it’s true, but I believe it is!
The first 12 minutes of this podcast blew my mind. I had to stop it after an hour to digest what was being said.
This morning I started it again and the first 12 minutes hit harder than the first time I listened to it, so I stopped and listened to the first 12 minutes again.
What I think of it comes down to this quote:
“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”
Benjamin Franklin
I could write a 1000 word article on this, but Eric Weinstein says it more concisely, eloquently and brilliantly than I ever could.

Trump has been talking about that (key point) for 40 years.

However, our lifestyle and actions usually reflected how one might vote.

FAKE NEWS MEDIA PLATFORMS ARE ALMOST ALL LYING. DESTROYING USA 🇺🇸 😢
This is the first full interview on this channel I’ve watched and boy am I glad I did. Another interview I didn’t know I needed.
You know what I love? the comments. This has for the most part started a dialogue that I haven’t seen in a long time. (Barring the nasty folks that just have to put people down for some reason.) This reminds me of discussions we’d have in college. Like a think tank of views. I hadn’t realized how much I’ve missed this type of info sharing. Really good points of view that get you thinking in perhaps a little different direction. Thank you 🌼
I come to UA-cam just as much for the comments, as I do the conversations or interviews
Me too 😃
Your point can’t be overstated. What a wonderful observation 👍🏻
I wish I had these kinda conversations, just started a sociology class and chapter 1 from the textbook, bashing Trump and Republicans, and praising the dem party. 🤬
Yeah I miss long nights doing what I call "philosophy-ing" (pronounced fil-o-so-fy-ing) back in my college days. Always a ton of fun and refreshing.
Intelligence and degrees have an inverse relationship.
The same thing was said about Thomas Edison when he was kicked out of school.

The cognitive dissonance is real

Yes, but that would require critical thinking, something many people lack.
Yes!
Thank you, Chris, I appreciate Bret's contributions to your conversations! Keep him coming!
You write very well! Maybe you should write a book!
@@megantoth6721 thank you for your kind words, I really needed to hear this podcast today
I was thinking the same thing. Your comment was written so well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
That was beautiful. I agree. We are incredibly powerful. We just believe we are human. Have a amazing day friend.
I sure wish Eric was my father.
He nailed it, it's an illusion of choice. Remember, if voting worked, they wouldn't let us do it.
That one always makes me laugh. Although probably true, I'd still like to have and exercise at least some level of real choice at the ballot box.
However, if voting wasn't important, why is there so much money spent on trying to get your vote?
when he said that; Ouch! cope harder? But Ouch all the same. And now I think I may be able to see D4,5,6, maybe? Cheers
Love Chris and Eric so much. One of the few places to find decent, civil people talking politics, for example, without spewing hate and attacking others. Talking about tough questions and individual issues is important - rather than just following one party line or the other.
Except 1 is totally brainwashed by his Marxist-Dems party... smh
If voting matters, they would let us vote.
Unholy is what is going on in the Republican Party.
This was nothing but propaganda. Trump had a failed coup he couldn't unite the Republicans.
Fascinating conversation !
15:40 "The choice is, do you wish to say something?"
This is the simplest explanation of tyranny I've ever heard.
Bone chilling
thats why it is an age old story from the first of our democracies, he is just recalling the wisdom that existed previous to our new age where everything is a meme, and forgotten quickly, replaced by the new meme, and if not there is a tight knit group who will go back and remove the meme, and all traces of it, so nobody learns anything from it!
Socrates was told by a friend 2500 years ago; justice will always be the self interests of those in power.
It’s all in the name; “just-us”
Th constitution was written for land gentry and wealthy slave owners who didn’t really have the common man in mind when writing the document.
This is the first time I've heard Eric Weinstein. Wow . . . very intelligent, informed man!
Oh boy. Wait til you find out he has a brother that was shafted out of a novel prize. This family is something
He's brilliant and great at teaching
@@jamesbarthelemy5926Brett is my fav!
check out his two other interviews with Chris Williamson, too.
Yeah, he and his brother are actual geniuses.
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this podcast! I loved sitting in on this conversation!
❤ ps . I also have ADHD , so I know what to look for 😉
I have been listening to Eric for years. He talks to people, never talks down to them and provides provocative content.
@Malenti he's the always THE smartest guy in the room. Can't listen anymore.
I'll never forget how cruel he was to his brother when Brett was on Eric's podcast.
I love Eric lot's of people don't enjoy how he speaks.
@JM-vh7oc what was that podcast? I completely missed that
@@JM-vh7ocwhat?! I missed that. Which was it? I’d be very disappointed because I like them both so much.
Eric is one of my favorite modern day thinkers. May he live long and prosper
he's very unique. we say everyone is, but some are less and some are more. I believe that a 100%.
@@father3dollarbill He should be awarded with the 'Nobel Uniqueness Prize'. Only one can ever be given, otherwise it loses all its value.
Cheers. I'm joigning to you. My best to them both.
hahaha this is deranged lunacy. but he's one of my favorite clowns, after bret/heather
Because it is actually ideas and words, as opposed to Constant Lying and Deception from our media
Same here. Love to hear Eric and Bret speak. Eric a little bit more, even.
Ask a simple yes or no question and he'll give you a 3-hour, possibly related anecdote.
@@TheDionysianFields The answer to every Yes/No question is "It Depends"
His brother Brett is equally brilliant and eloquent.
It took just 3 hours. I am comfortable with Eric Weinstein. Fabulous thoughts, yet almost certainly real and correct. Give me more. Thanks!
Terrifying
3 great role models! Let's go for a fourth! I prefer the version of illusion without an overt attempt to "relocate" (read: dislocate) 10mm + human beings. Just sayin' ...
So the 2nd democracy that is supposedly in place to hold up the foundations of democracy one is now purposely trying to destroy democracy one. All the American ideals, traditions, sovereignty, and culture are being puposely destroyed. They are done with the allusion of a democracy. "We fight not against men but against principalities and dominions of darkness"-God
Evil has come out of the darkness, it isn't going to hide or pretend anymore. God help us.
They were dictators and that's what trump will become. "Dictator on day 1"-drumpf
