The 'brink of revolution' may well hinge on how we choose to implement AI in our society. If AI is leveraged primarily to benefit an elite minority, as we've seen with many technological advancements, we could be headed for significant social upheaval. I think that will be the final nail in the coffin.

Something is seriously f'ed when a dude with a long, long, long history of making money with the same man who has hand groomed JD Vance's VP selection and funded Trump's campaign election has his lead hedge fund guy come on podcasts to tell us something "strange" is happening out there. Are you kidding me??? Billionaires like Peter Thiel (and his "Paypal Mafia" buddy, Elon Musk) buying up social media entities, going on podcasts with former reality show contestants (Williamson) and hosts (Rogan) while supporting reality show hosts (Trump) for the highest job in the land is what is "strange" out there. Not only is all this strange, it is f'n weird that these dudes think they can pull the wool over our eyes and tell us up is down and black is white. Wake up, people...

@@father3dollarbillPeople are being instructed in the United Kingdom. They are unhappy with the mass illegal migration of foreigners who are roaming around cities in mobs with machetes unchecked by the police whilst those who complain about them on social media get sentenced to prison for multiple months. The latter is instructive in the same way yanking on the choke chain of a puppy makes it into an obedient dog who loses the impulse to think for himself. The former demonstrates an injustice of two-tier policing which is an apparent _de facto_ enforced authoritarianism extending out of a _status quo_ which gave forces more powers under the pandemic lockdowns, and if you question it you are islamophobic and if you complain about exhibitionists cavorting in front of small children then you are transphobic. It is intolerable, but thankfully I got banned from Twitter for questioning who really shot at Trump. So much for free speech, Elon.

As one of the aforementioned hillbillies from Kentucky, I was stunned when Eric started talking about my home and my people and the demoralization and depression we've faced for decades. It's refreshing to hear someone mention us on a platform as big as this. Corporations came in and stripped our resources and then left us for dead. Coal camps, company script were the slavery he was referring to. The government never gave a shit about us. All I can feel is cynical towards America. If there's a politician who does care, they'll be assassinated. The tragedy is waking up on a planet full of wonder and mystery and excitement, and the next moment realizing you have to go do some bullshit you hate all day because the psychopaths managing reality just see you as a piece of meat to rape for their profit.

Thank you so much, Chris, for having these conversations with people who have extraordinary insight into things, and aspects of life, that is rarely being talked about in public space. I genuinely enjoyed listening to you and Eric Weinstein, so thank you for having him. 👍
Thank you, Eric, for doing these conversations. It is soothing for my mind to listen to you because you aren't afraid to go into not-very-often-charted territory.
There was one point that really surprised me in this conversation (I wouldn't call it an interview in the traditional sense, and I mean that as compliment); it was when Eric said that most people go through their whole lives without listening to their inner voice.
I had to stop the video and ask myself if that is true....if that can possibly be true? I've never considered the idea but always took for granted that _of course_ everybody have had to listen to their inner voice at least every now and then, and that it is fear that makes them censure themselves and block it so they can continue to function as obedient members of their respective societies; members who wouldn't dream of making ripples in the agreed fabric of reality. The only individuals among us human being that I thought never listens to their inner voice are the psychopaths; they don't because they don't _have_ an inner voice. But the rest of us?
How would this really be possible?... To go through life without ever having listened to your inner voice?
If this is indeed true - and I will give it sincere consideration because I am so much on the same page as Eric and can tell he is honest about the things he says (I am not talking about the possible implication of the things he doesn't say because Eric too live in the world that most people view as the only reality and he has to be wise about what he says and how he says it) - it will be a factor that changes the way I look at this shared reality of ours.
The more I think about this it becomes clear to me that I too have been heavily influenced by the narrative that my host-society has created and kept an iron grip on since sometime back in the 1980es or mid- to late 1970es. But - enough about me, I was just really surprised. :)

The first 12 minutes of this podcast blew my mind. I had to stop it after an hour to digest what was being said.
This morning I started it again and the first 12 minutes hit harder than the first time I listened to it, so I stopped and listened to the first 12 minutes again.
What I think of it comes down to this quote:
“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”
    Benjamin Franklin
I could write a 1000 word article on this, but Eric Weinstein says it more concisely, eloquently and brilliantly than I ever could.
Suffice to say, the rules based international order structures that were put in place to keep the world from war and keep the markets open (post WW2) have hit a wall. It’s also obvious to all, that trying to push through that wall is causing the status quo to collapse through the implementation of population control tactics. Though they’ve kept them more or less in place through the illusion of democracy, the deep state is fearful that you can’t keep international alliances and agreements stable with someone at the helm (a populist candidate) willing to risk changing the status quo.
The problem of course now is the rot eating at the core of these institutions tasked with keeping the status quo, is only growing and has been for decades.
The warmongering, the money laundering, the criminal activities are so blatant at this point that the American public have become the human shields (and victims) of the deep state.
These international agreements and interests are giving license to these players to feel justified in abominable behaviors, operations, crimes, and thefts, while hiding them behind claims of national security and the democratic process.
Slowly over decades they’ve managed to turn over the safeguards of the constitution to maintain their illusionary visions of keeping the world safe.

I think it's worse than that. They are just looting the system because they know it will collapse soon. All of these machinations are designed to milk the last little bit. Once that is done they will default on the debt and usher in the new totalitarian regime. It will be easy, because everyone will be starving.

Not anymore - for Trumps entire life until 2020 he was a nationalist, that’s what MAGA is about, and “America First” is about.
However, after they kept raiding him, having the FBI bust into his property and fake photos of “classified” documents, have DA’s in NYC target him unconstitutionally and get ridiculous NYC juries to convict him for a misdemeanor accounting issue that was already past the statute of limitations, DA turned it into a felony and he got convicted / fined insane money - a clear weaponization of the judicial system, literal banana republic stuff - and why? Because he wasn’t compromised, he wanted to put AMERICANS first, he questioned the purpose of NATO and why America is primarily funding it while all the European nations rip us off and give their citizens universal healthcare and tons of social benefits because they don’t need to maintain their own defense industry - Trump upset the corrupt global order - globalists, internationalists etc and they’ve attacked him ever since.
This time around he’s become much softer in his approach, he’s staying away from all those hit button issues, and most importantly he’s taking HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS from special interest donors - especially from Israeli interests.
Trump is now MUCH more like a standard Republican, they’ve apparently captured him like they capture everyone - he wants to allow MORE “legal” immigration and H1B visas, costing more Americans their jobs…. He’s not the same Trump anymore at all.

Once public knowledge is held to a standard of honesty that matches our authority, We the People will come back into our power, and the gov't criminals will no longer influence our lives negatively or be able to hide their crimes. Then, and only then will the division between two "factions" of Americans be smoothed by knowledge into unity. It can't be fixed with criminal dirt acting as if THEY are "helping' us. Trump will return suddenly and the criminals will fry. We've KNOWN something was wrong, before the vietnam war cost so much that all that printed money forced Tricky to dissolve gold convertibility and ensure that inflation moved us into poverty. This is the root of the anger from young folks. If they understood that when they work hard and smart, that they will be able to live like Americans of old. Gold backed money is key, and honest gov't are the keys and are coming soon.

We never had signs on lawns, nor signs in townships. One attended town halls to hear ALL the parties speak. ALL, even the fringe parties.
There was literature to hand out en mass.
We never said who we voted for, as that is SECRET for a reason.
However, our lifestyle and actions usually reflected how one might vote.
It worked better in society and for family gatherings.
Now, the attacks to outright estrangement have gone berserk.
      Canadian BTW.
I still keep my vote private. However, I did have to vote different in my 50 years of voting to oust a party. I've always voted according to platforms plus actual performance, history of good performance.
Now, the evil has grown into unrecognizable as even possible.

I know my maternal grandmother was a child at that time and my paternal grandfather, a very young man who worked as police officer for this small town & truly mining community). Maybe it was an inhuman degree of persistence, or patience, or making your own analogies to understand rather than memorizing for a test. The funny thing is there's a lot of examples of this part of intelligence being a distinguishing factor, but as a society we still like to reduce it down to how you do on a test. And determining often at the earliest moment possible if you're a "failure" at this attribute, and let that determine your entire future. I guess you found some version of the "cheat code." Good on you.

As bad as or imperfect things are under Trump for the USA and the world it would be analogous to a cancer cell taking control of the body it won't evolve into a better system. The next day, a few of them kept bringing up derogatory "maga" topics like they were trying to get a response out of me. One of the guys I work with let it out that he was Republican and it shouldn't matter what I believe. They eliminated both our jobs (we are software engineers and we were already understaffed). I spend more time pausing Eric's discourse to look up his ideas, acronyms, tropes and memes than I do on entire podcasts by some people. And Chris' willingness to open himself up to be instructed and corrected is key to what I learn. Chris stands in for us, using his own intelligence and knowledge to grease the wheels. We can never know how authentic Eric is being, but even if he is, at times, playing a role, speaking in allegories (rather than truly laying himself bare) there is no question that his intentions are pure. Too few people realize that American "conservatives" are trying to _conserve_ the best parts of a _liberal_ revolution/experiment. ("Classical Liberals," they're sometimes called.) Meanwhile, the American left, who formerly called themselves "liberals," have given up on anything liberty-oriented. They are now _totalitarian leftists_ (but, in Orwell-speak, that's called "progressives").
This means the American left are no longer liberal. That means that the American right are the only remaining liberals, and they're trying to _conserve_ the part of liberalism (the "classical" part like free speech, right-of-conscience-to-dissent, Federalism, economic autonomy, and firearms rights) which the left-liberals either have abandoned (freedom-of-speech) or never supported (economic autonomy and firearms rights).
That's how it happened that the Democrats became anti-liberal, while the Republicans, who once didn't _seem_ liberal because their _form_ of liberalism was Burkean (pro-traditions, pro-non-governmental-communities), are the _only game in town_ for those who're still liberal.

I occasionally come across Weinstein posts on twitter but he is much far better in this long format. I am so impressed as how he can explain and communicate it all to an average guy like me. I didn’t wake up somewhat until after the great financial crisis but started to really become concerned in during trumps campaign in 2015 and more concerned as I became aware of Elliot wave theory in 2017. I can definitely see the unraveling explained at 41:00 as the dollar index collapses. The pivot is coming in the coming months. Elliot wave theory is excellent in understanding what will happen to assets over time and into the future and this man puts it into words but may not have the timetable that Elliot wave theory provides. Feel free to hate on the comment you took the time to read, I’m just a dummy and wish everyone the best. If you can’t get out, become more self sufficient and stay safe. Chris, Eric's recent episodes have been absolute MONSTERS. Enthralling, riveting. Almost every second or third sentence he's coming out with something that makes me pause the video and sit there thinking for a few minutes.
He's obviously found the door, and it seems like he kicked it open and walked straight through. Once you see it, you can't un-see it. His idea of "pro-life and pro-choice people should get a room"... spot on. This is exactly how I feel too. I don't work in absolutes anymore, I try very carefully not to use words like "always" or "never". There's always a middle ground. A middle way. In fact - speaking of "the middle way", it might be worth getting a Buddhist scholar on the show, to talk a bit about that concept.

I believe the story Eric shares reveals one of the most significant human superpowers that our culture and society has deliberately obfuscated from the day we begin our individual accumulation of 'knowledge.' It's been alluded to in parables and bumper stickers, but Eric cracks the code in his telling. We are so much more than we've been limited to believe, our fear of failure and the consequences of non-comformity have dulled our instincts and shamed our individual reach for everything that lies beyond the 'given'. I hope many others got to 2:22 and not only shed tears of recognition - but resolve to own the lesson. Thank you Chris and Eric, the message I heard - and the love with which it was delivered - means more than words can convey.

After listening to Eric & Chris for 3 hours I am both alternately inspired and tragically, existentially terrified! This has been one of, if not the, most important discussions I've been party to. With all my heartfelt civility, gentlemen, I thank you.

I still have faith in humanity. It will be slow, but I don’t think humans respond well to being dumbed down, and they’ve taken it too far. People are starting to feel it. They don’t know what it is, but something is up.
I wish I had another 60 years to be part of whatever happens!

Chris - I don't know you other than this podcast, and others of yours I've watched. From what I have seen, I would never say that you come across as pandering to your guest. Despite being incredibly sharp minded and precise with your language, you don't ever seem to argue or be rude to people. You are unpretentious, and never imply that you are omniscient with your language. It is refreshing and approachable. I appreciate you, and hope you aren't being too hard on yourself. There is a shortage of good English manners, and we need as much as we can get here in the U.S.
    Thank you

Listened to this after listening to Russell brand. Don’t get me wrong, I like Russell, but I kept having to do a double take on this podcast. So calm, composed, spacious, unpretentious, lacking in ADHD 5-in-1 questions 😂... What a contrast!! ❤ ps . I also have ADHD , so I know what to look for 😉

I like Eric but there are some obv holes in his reasoning. People were willing to take a lark/shot on trump in 16. He's a known quantity as a pol now. And despite what hardcore trumpers say--they are not a majority of the country hell they're not even a majority of republicans more like somewhere around half. Just another faction. If all of the populist/silent majority rhetoric were true he wouldn't have lost last time and wouldn't be in a street fight this time. He'd be sitting pat on an obv landslide. Everything is not a conspiracy. Being on the podcast circuit/trying to stay relevant somehow in a part of it and he has to continually find a way to tell a certain segment something along the lines of what they want to hear. He knows all too well it can be swiped away if he goes too far off-script.

In all three cases, Pol Pot, Stalin, and Mao embraced a version of the belief that societies could be remade by breaking with the past. The quote, “What can be unburdened by what has been,” captures the essence of their efforts to destroy history, culture, and people in the name of creating a new order. Their methods of “unburdening” were extreme, often leading to violence, oppression, and the death of millions, as they sought to erase the past to impose their vision of the future.

So the 2nd democracy that is supposedly in place to hold up the foundations of democracy one is now purposely trying to destroy democracy one. All the American ideals, traditions, sovereignty, and culture are being puposely destroyed. They are done with the allusion of a democracy.
