- So, it’s time for another Generations Clash episode. This time it’s the Audi RS6 Avant. 20 years in between. The first RS6 Avant, coded C5, was produced in 2002-2004. Pfff the C5 was the beast back then... 💪🔥..when i drove it.in 2009. Friend had it... For me was like driving a spaceship 😀 but the C8 is also a beast 😎

I’m 40 and In my mid twenties I got to drive a C5 in the dark blue colour (best colour for me) and all I remember is it being like a plane when it takes off! The smile on my face as I drove it upto just under 150mph and the brakes! I hit the brakes and it stopped as fast as it went. I want to know will one still give me that plane take off feeling ..the car being so many years older..I hope so 🙏🏻🙂

Mate...i had the c5 2.5 tdi avant quattro for 15 years and i did 500 000kmh!! What a beautiful car it was...great chassis...great quality interiors...extremaly safe on the road...a true companion for many years and many stories in many places!! Now i have the c7 3.0bitdi competition and i`m in love with her!!!
But always dreaming with the rs6!!
The rs6...for me...is the ultimate car for day life!!

The c8 looks a little bit OTT for me , a bit too fussy , not subtle at all compared to previous generations. Owned a c5 missano red which I loved , especially with 3 dogs but I’d love a c7 one day .
The new one is gorgeous but the old one is something else!!

Manual swapped C5 for me please. This is what i would always take over any other RS car. I adore the timeless classic look of it. And this 40 valve V8 sounds soooooooooo muuuuuuuuch better than the new 32 valve one. Awesome video as always,

I finally saw my first RS6 today. It was Daytona Grey with red calipers and one of the darker optic packages.
Beautiful cars, but the engine on C5 is 40v not 32 :)
C5 RS6 doesn't have 32 valves but 40
C8 is nice. Has yet to be seen how it’ll age.
C5 is just right.

I Have a 2003 Audi A6 C5 2.4 V6 Quattro in almost mint conditions 19 years and only 199km on it and still going strong 😍 the RS6 C5 is a dream car no doubt 😍👍

Engine in RS6 C5 will last over 20 years of service in C8 there is no premium quality and longevity of the parts. C5 has no direct injection, no cam adjuters, less complicated timing mechanism. For me C5 is premium quality peace of art, whereas C8 is just shit coated in gold...

C5 has maxton front lip, bumpers and sill kit! ow and the spoiler extention, thank me later 😂 both are awsome, but realistically i would go for the c5 cosworth bcy engine eny day! Plus you can do majority of the work your self, still a big engine! but its pritty easy to dismantle, and parts aint in the thousands enymore, plus if you get a cheap one you can always 6speed swap from the og autobox, but its a super estate car so you have to bring common sense in to the build! Polly bushing remap coilovers ect ect, thats jst before your wife decides to leave you, she will never understand so jst let her be free, jst dont sell the kids for part! on the black market, iv already been warned thats a big no no 🤷🏼

Der erste RS6 ist einfach unerreicht in Stil, Charakter und Präsenz. Der neue sieht aus wie ein übertriebener Spinner im Vergleich.
Auch, dass damals zum Glück viele RS6 mit der hellen Ausstattung gewählt wurden, macht sie attraktiver. Ständig dieses langweilige Schwarz überall in den Innenräumen...

The first RS6 is still unmatched in style, character and presence. The new one in comparison just looks like an exaggerated wacko.
Also, it's fortunate that many RS6 back then were ordered with the brighter interiour making it much more attractive. Always this bland black in every interiour...

The OG has always sounded better - and actually feels like you’re driving. Sadly most high end contemporary vehicles are too loaded with tech, especially when it comes to steering. It just feels disconnected. The RS2 and original RS6 are unquestionably two automotive greats.
Sure, but dont forget the B5 RS4 and B7 RS4, that are even better driving cars. Enjoy the channel
Very true, I drove a 2007. Incredible vehicles. Drivers, cars. To me, the perfect blend of form and function (though for my purposes the boot space of the RS6 was necessary). Not quite as legendary as the RS2 and early RS6, but the B5 is pretty close and the B7 is heading that direction. Soon enough they’ll all be in the pantheon. As an aside, I added an S1 last year, immense fun on winding country roads and still has enough analogue feel, was pleased Audi kept a real handbrake in it.
