Great job on the video Rory. Amazing work. The car has since been upgraded to 1000hp. We are going to make a series of 10 cars. Million bucks each for those who want one
A mil for a sedan is a strong ask especially when you consider, in the land of vintage and collectible cars, few ever bring big money. Very few of the worlds most sought after cars are 4-door sedans and that is especially true of vintage hot rods and resto mods. This would not be a car for the fiscally smart buyer. But as a HUGE fan of the Red Sow, I love it and would love to add this to my herd.
@@mdr-lw2bn I'm willing to bet that there are an unimaginable amount of man hours required to build one of these. Wouldn't surprise me if that's where a lot of the price lies.

You are propably not aware of this, but there is 1 of 1 original 300 SEL 6.3 "Waxenberger" street car here in Finland. A local media mogul ordered it new for his "weekend racer" daily driver back in the day. A very special car indeed. Have seen it several times in the museum since I was a little boy and it was always the highlight of the visit.
Hey Rory, this red pig is a brilliant testament not only to AMG but to the golden age of internal combustion. I love it. I can't help thinking it needs a fridge though. Just to elevate the machine to antarctic levels of cool. Thanks so much for this 🙂
Love the engine with enormous maintenance costs.Just FYI. the older Merc engines are more reliable. I can understand the advertisement for the new engines. But very few are good long term engines. Now they are being made to be obsolescent every few years.
The fact that they changed the chassis kills it for me. Sure the body is really nice but the charm of driving a classic car is the vintage and far from perfect handling with limits that are much lower than today's cars. That is why my tiny car collection includes a couple of modern cars but also vintage cars of which the highest performing is my 328 GTS which doesn't even come close to an MX-5 in terms of performance and it isn't even considered one of the best Ferraris.... yet I adore driving it, so much fun, a very connected experience but it has much much lower limits than modern cars.
Yeah, not for me. Adding splitters, carbon fibre, de-chromed etc kills the exterior and the interior is just horrible. All in all, it a terrible homage to the original. I think the real name of the car was Red Sow, not Red Pig. This looks like an S Club 7 version.
im with you on the carbon and chrome thing, btw it was called sau. sau is a other term in german for the word pig. sau is a more local term, the more common one is schwein.
I'm going to say the old engine is going to be more reliable :) Maybe some tinkering will be needed now and then. But its never going to give you any castrophic failures or suddenly leave you stranded.
Thank you for this video. This car is nice thank you.!! The owner of S-KLUB that guy is a automotive scientist. The only thing I'd like as an option on this thing is a modified car horn. I'd want the "Pig Horn". Every time I hit it I want it to sound like a mad, squealing angry pig!
I think its actually a smart decision and incredible achievement that they were able to use a c63 and remount the old body on it, the new c63 car/chassis/gearbox is from a far superior and reliable modern car. If only you could do that easily with all classics

Love it. I would just have to have insisted on the original M100 V8. Even if the turbo’d it or went all out with it… Would have to have the OG AMG V8. It was an incredible engine that was so far ahead of its time it’s insane.
They got the front of the merc all wrong. The splitter looks stupid, the headlights are totally crap and the blacked out grill just looks stupid. And as for the spotlight covers they just look idiotically childish. What on earth is that hideous steering wheel, totally 🤢🤮. The interior is a huge mess. The people who made this concoction have zero clue as to the heritage of the red pig. In short it’s a big fail in my view.
Simply one of the greatest resto-mods ever made. It's right up there with the Big Red Camaro and the the Vicious Mustang and because the original Red Pig started out as it's own version of a resto-mod, this car is totally in keeping with the original ethos. If this car ever comes up for sale... hmmm....
I have to disagree on blacking things out.. the original's chrome was way cooler in the context of the whole package. In the future, I suspect we're going to look back at blacked out trim and think "that looks soooo 2015-2025"
It's not hard to fathom that the interior and electronics stays modern and works. It's a very expensive body swap. I'm guessing the C63 was chosen for it's similar wheelbase
