Check this out, RS6 fans - we’ve brought in every generation of the RS6 and they're going head-to-head in an almighty drag race! From the 450hp C5 through to the current 600hp C8, we’re here to find out just how these four generations of RS6 perform over the quarter-mile.
As you’d expect, Mat’s in his long term RS6, the C8. With a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet, it can produce 600hp & 800Nm of torque. Alongside him, we’ve got Yianni in the C7. It may be powered by the same size engine as the C8, however, it can produce slightly more power (605hp), although it’s also slightly down on torque (750Nm).
The C6 may be several years older, but when you consider it’s powered by a 5-litre twin-turbo V10, it’s surely got to be in with a shout, right? Or perhaps the C5, with its 4.2-litre twin-turbo V8, could spring a surprise?
All we know is, there’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

The C7 will always be my favourite version of the RS 6. I mean 605 HP from that 4.0L V8 is nuts, and for being 7 years old now, this thing is very impressive in performance.
and 2017 and up c7's are so nice if you buy the mtm for example I mean 720hp or so is massive

@@kuroseiki6930 The C7 was just the perfect RS 6 I think. The engine, the looks, the brutality, everything. Still looks fresh today. I think it's more brutal in performance compared to the C8, even with the non-performance. Although the C6 with its looks and that amazing 5.0L Lamborghini derived V10 is still really nice to me as well.

@@aviana009 this is true but let's be real here. A very small percentage of the population is able to afford a 50k plus plus. That's not being poor thats being average. New cars are too many gadgets now days anyway so for me personally I wouldn't buy a brand new car if I could afford the monthlies.

Also it's AFAIK limited to 250 km/h. It COULD go faster. I had a C5 Allroad 4,2 Liter (8 cyl, but no turbo) with 300 HP back in the day and that was already going 250km/h with no problem.

You need to put some custom exhaust if you want your vw or audi sound nice.

Gotta love the C6. The sheer lunacy of putting a Lambo V10 engine in an Audi A6 and then slapping two turbos on it. I also like the look ... less busy than the current model.
C6 and C7 RS 6 models for me look the best ~ and yes the time where German manufacturers just put crazy engines in their performance cars 👏👏

Also it was really pulling in the rolling race. I mean its over 10 years old but in the real world you wont really notice that much of a difference compared to the C8. Insane.
Yep and with a simple Stage 1 tune (700hp) it will obliterate both the C7 and C8 in a rolling race - especially @ top end managing to hit 200++ mph. Launching it from 0 I'm hiting like 3.6 sec to 60 with the tune, so it could keep up nicely if launched properly as well; eventhough I'd expect the newer C8 to win that one.
This engine has nothing to do with lamborghini v10

My C5 was mapped at 525 and 830nm and did 190+.
From 50 it hit 130mph in a matter of seconds and kept going. An absolute animal.
They should compare mapped C5s, mapped C6s, to the silly money C7,8.

The rs6 c7 is really a masterclass and one of the best car of all time, the C8 is to aggressiv for a car that can be a familly car, it is to much like "Hey do you see me I have a 180k audi rs6, watch me kiddo"
For me in North America, it's either C5 sedan or C8 Avant, unless I import. But I understand why people love the C7.5 so much.

Own a RS6 C6. If the C7 would be the regular non-performance 560hp version; the C6 would have beaten it in the rolling race. Unfair comparison if you ask me. Give the C6 a simple Stage 1 tune and it would have slaughtered it.

About not having launch control, thought they all had?
My 2013 C7 has launch control.
No setting/menu option, but traction off, sportmode, straight wheel, and brake fully engaged while holding full throttle.
Release brake.
I didnt think mine had it for years, until I saw a comment about it while googling.

Very sharp eyes. The C7 here is missing the right wheels and the carbon fibre interior. I daily drive a C7 RS6 Performance, so can confirm.

Something is wrong with the C6 because the DRIVER says does not rev more then 4.000 rpm .... the C6 can Rev UP to Limiter while standing has no soft limiter.
It has a bad rep for the understeer it has tho as you can also see in the video with the donuts

Best thing is, simple software map opens it right up to absolutely smash the others. They all need lots of work to get to that level. On a c6, secondary cat delete and map gets 740hp and 1100nm torque. V10 TT for the win

living in the city I love soft limiters. All the bmw's driving up and down the city the whole day reving in the residential areas brought me to that. If you wanna hear it, go on the speedway, drive a tunnel and lower your windows. There, everybodys happy!

Yea the c6 actually looks like the epitome of the RS6 avant , the 7,8 perform like the RS6 should but they look like damn hot wheels toys and the C5 is simple with nice lines ,shape ,sporty ,Audi style ..

My mate had one (C6) at 750 and 1100 nm. Same car as yours. He had the map de - tuned (NM) a little. Also MRC.
The scottish dude has one at 1070bhp.
@@stuartpringle913 Nice, they are such ridiculous machines. I love them. If I ever have to drop the engine for "the" oil leak, I would consider new turbos but at that point you start running into bottlenecks. Apparently the box is good for around 1,250nm before you start to break internals but if you can keep the torque higher in the range, that's a lot more HP.
@@cammmy yes the 50p seal 😱🙈... also arch lines perish. The gearboxes are strong in the C6 but about 6k rebuild if they do break.

Bring a multi tuner and tinker with the C5.
I have an A6 S-Line C5 2.7t.
All torn down for timing belt and complete oil gaskets and coolant hoses etc.
Stopping all leaks, deleting secondary water pump. Fixing noisy air pump hoses. Giving it some love.
Already have an adjustable boost controller. Looking at replacing the KO4s soon wanting hybrids.
Suggestions very welcome!
The V10 kept up decently in the roll races though
I saw a tuned V10... that is a monster... over 1000HP and endless amount of torque
C6 ftw. Cant beat a V10. Also the most tuneable out the box. Still looks great.
As an Audi fan, mainly of the older cars (*whispers* with far more character), this is what I subscribe for!

Seeing them so close together shows that they really havent done much over the years.
When I drove one, the 600 HP felt more like 450 HP, because of the extremely heavy drivetrain (a problem with all German cars).
Still one of the prettier generic daily driver cars, though.

I love the c7. It looks so bullish and brutal. The grip is insane. And how it takes off. You know it's an RS6 c7 when the front is higher than a G Class at takeoff.
I might not have a RS6 C6 but I do have a 2006 A6 avant that feels amazing to drive I absolutely love it

I would have the C7 over the C8 all day. Love the looks and tech of the C8, but I think the C7 also looks fantastic and it’s way cheaper. AND, it sounds better!

That Lamborghini Gallardo 5.0L twin-turbo V10 is such a gem, where it was where the VW group were just doing crazy things with engines and putting them in cars that weren't necessary. I mean the Q7 with the 6.0L V12 diesel, the Touareg with the 5.0L V10 diesel, this with the 5.0L V10, I mean just crazy.

It can't be chipped, it has no turbo, so you won't get more than 15-20 horsepower max.
@@brainsoff_9210 you kidding. C6 has tein turbo v10. The s6 is am n/a. Rs6 can be chipped to 800hp easy and with a little work over 1000hp
@@ThatAudiGuy 800 with a chip is a bit far fetched.. 690-700 is possible with a remap. Catless or high flow system would add another 40-60hp.. For 800 you'd have to go meth injection or hybrid turbos. TTE has a kit.. For only 3 grand you can push over 800hp

Is that an RS6 Performance though? It has the non performance wheels and the aluminium window trims that not many Performance cars had (people generally went for the exclusive titanium trim option instead). Tapping the number plate into the internet doesn't mention it being a Performance model either.
