I cant wait for this, cause the way I now build is literally like building layers of a factory at a time so having them be kinda cookie cutter BP's, it makes it so much easy.
Blueprints were a complete gamechanger in Oxygen Not Included and Dyson Sphere Program, my other favorite factory sims before Satisfactory. I'm excited for blueprints, and I really REALLY hope they introduce automation signals after this
@@DrLootCrate Oh yeah, prepare to lose a week or three if you start playing them. Those 2 plus Satisfactory are easily the Top 3 factory automation sims in existence right now.
One cool way I can think of using this blueprints is to make a 10 foundation circle, and only blueprinting the edges, so you always have a useful circle edge to build off.
I have never actually finished building something circular. It was so fiddly that I lost interest in doing it, so maybe blueprints will finally get me going round?
Great video. Nice concepts and designs in prep for update 7 release on Tuesday. Have you thought about input and output pass throughs both vertically and horizontally at the exterior of blueprints for expandability? -Like Snutt did in the demo. I'm considering having input mergers and output splitters on corners of my blueprints for universal connectivity. Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with 👍
I am digging the idea of the a fully universal modular design. If you have been watching some of my other vids, you know that I like to build vertically from time to time and I am looking forward to making vertically stackable tiles. You will have to sacrifice raw output capacity to be more flexible but that is definitely ok. I am sure that most of my blueprints will be used for convenience or aesthetics anyway.
My only worry is that you won’t be able to modularly overlap previous blueprints, like if I wanted to lay all machines and splitters first and then put all the belting in over the top. I wonder just how cookie cutter these chunks of factory will have to be.
Awesome video and designs! Perhaps a good incentive for future patrons would be to provide your blueprint files for download on patreon. Looking forward to more!
Concerning the Smelter Setup: I did almost the same thing but with 26 Smelters (8 bottom, 8 middle, 10 top) Having only 4 on each side bottom and middle leaves you with enough space to bring down all the ingots to the bottom again. This way I can put 780 ore in and get all 780 ingots out on one output, a perfect MK 5 belt setup
Very nice! I actually did this video before the blueprint machine was out, so I wasn’t totally sure where we would be able to place things on the edge. I couldn’t test it. Your setup sounds awesome. If I make another one, I will do it that way
probably should of put a merger on the output of the manufacturer for expansion reasons, but all in all, blueprints like these will really help me since i have a tendency to not really utilize vertical space in designs.
Yep. Don’t tell anyone, but I actually forgot to do the output of the manufacturers. 🤐 I agree that this will encourage a bit more verticality. I am looking forward to making some more designs with this in mind
It definitely would increase possibilities by a lot, but I don’t mind the current size. I think it is a good balance to make you think a little bit about squeezing it in.
I appriciate you squeezing the layers to get max production however I think even one level with lots of detail would be far better just my thoughts great ideas though
I think I agree with you. Once I am done with work (darn these full time jobs!) I am going to get on experiment with the actual machine. I think individual stackable layers will be a way to go
I'm more interested in blueprints for road designs, complete road section with street lights, rails, markings and railings. or comolex railroad junctions and roundabouts. Or curved road blueprints.
I think you should be able to pull this off for some extent. I think there is enough room for the road stuff at least. The rail stuff will mostly be too big - a 4 way train intersection is 6 by 6 I think and wouldn't fit in the cube.
Thanks Brian! My saves and blueprints are available to my Patreon supporters. Check out the link on my channel page if you are interested. If you aren’t, you just got free step by step instructions!
I had the same feeling. I screwed around for a while and couldn't find a way to do it without clipping. It is a little tougher than it looks with the light sticking way out of the top of the machine if you don't want to clip (which doesn't really matter, but I like to not do it) I haven't tried again since, but I almost guarantee that you could fit more in there somehow
I’m right with you Morten. It is a pretty daunting process. I am planning on a nuclear video, but Coffee Stain was talking about changing a key alternate recipe (removing beacons) so I was holding off until they did it. But it has been a while with no update and I need some power!
Really looking forward to blueprints, but 32x32 is FAR too small. Lets hope a mod will change it to actually be a useful size so it can be used for refineries, coal, oil gens, rectors etc.
You can actually fit 3 refineries in there because it is only 31m tall and 10m wide, but I understand your point. One of the most tedious things to build is a huge fuel plant, and this won’t help at all
Max output in terms of what you can fit in a blueprint…and output per ore isn’t the only measure of efficiency. Using fewer machines and saving setup time is efficient in my book. But if you are trying to max out the map, that is a different story.
When I discovered blueprints existed in factorio it blew my mind. Can't express how excited I am to get them in satisfactory too ❤️
I should probably go back and try factorial at some point…but I still have plenty of satisfactory left in me
I cant wait for this, cause the way I now build is literally like building layers of a factory at a time so having them be kinda cookie cutter BP's, it makes it so much easy.
It will definitely be a big time saver for a lot of us and I am looking forward to it too!
I have always loved your vids 😊good job getting to 1k+ subs!
Thanks Worldie. Cheers! 🍻
DrLootCrate, once again another excellent, informative, and inspiring video. Thank you for the great ideas and designs. Keep it up!
Thanks my friend! Always good to hear that you liked it.
Your vertical smelter and assemblies are fantastic, built both in my world today ❤
Thanks Fuzz. Glad you liked those designs and there is more where that came from on the way!

to be even more efficient, make a blueprint of the first layer and use that blueprint to make more layers in another blueprint!
Dude! I hadn’t thought of that. Infinite stacks! Sounds like I have a good idea for another video
I tried something like this and the game immediately crashed. Twice.
@@martinspukitis5059 in my latest video, I successfully used a blueprint in a blueprint design, but it was only a 4x4 foundation platform

The one thing I wish Coffee Stain would do is make the BP thing 5x5x5 instead of 4x4x4
Would make a lot more possible

Can you put machines head down from the ceiling?
Wouldn’t that be sick Dobes? Sadly you can’t, but there are ceiling mounts for belts as of today
I feel like you could easily fit another 3 assemblers in there if you kinda zig-zag them.

max layer is 3smelter layers whit a total income of 900Iron ingots pm
Yep. Up to 2250 with overclocking if you have a lifetime supply of power shards
Except if you want maximum efficiency, you should be using refineries for pure ingots...

what a pitty, its so inefficient😪. Traffic jam on MK5 Belts. Nevertheless nice work.
