I just got the K621, which is the TKL version of this keyboard. I downgraded from a previous Full sized, just to try out low profile.. It doesnt feel premium, but the keys arent as rattly as many of the big gaming brands. The media keys and macro keys are very weirdly mushy though theres a weird "side to side" pretravel feeling when pressing them. Like they go left and right when you go to push the,. Its hard to explain. The Rgb is OK, but not as good as Razer, Hyperx, or any company that has higher quality bright rgb thats built into the switch.
Its actually quite decent. So easy to move around the house , especially with its wireless capabilities. I also love low profile. I didnt want to get the 250 dollar G915 as my first low profile keyboard just in case I didnt like it.
For the price its great, and its keys are hotswappable. Also seems to have cherry profile keycaps so a low profile replacement set may work. The stock keyscaps are actually not bad. They feel like PBT.

I own this keyboard too and had modded it with things. inb4 k618m k621 and k622 are pretty much same.
first, the switches are proprietary, so it can only be swapped with blue/brown redragon SMD. weirdly red and brown has same weight (different from gateron), and the heaviest is linear black (80g total).
second, despites light and "plastic-y" feel, it's still sturdy and switches are still snappy. probably will worn out in years (but it's easy to replace the switch since it's hotswap)
third, lubing the switches even just a slight drop will make the switch sounds mushy. it feels good on typing but it will sounds like a goddamn membrane lol (and you might lose a bit of tactility friction if lubing the brown/blue one. but go proceed with the red one)

@@lunix3259 returned my logitech g915 and kept the redragon k618 horus. Quality is like 90% similar and doesn't need to be connected to software as you can save custom color mapped keyboard and save it to the device. Doesn't disconnect once idle like others are complaining. It might have been an issue prior but software has been updated and never had any problem using it. For 1/3 of the price compared to logitech, best keyboard purchase ever.

I'm waiting on some tiny silicone balls I ordered to make this thing bottom out even sooner. I've also lubed the switches (does make it quieter and feel a bit nicer), and did the shelf liner to make it feel a bit heftier and sound less hallow. Much better experience than paying $200 for Logitech's low profile, that uses even cheaper feeling non-replacable abs keycaps anyway.

I never understood why people complain about keyboard flex. I'm not leaning on this thing... my hands are gently floating about the keys as I type. What monster is gonna be SMASHING their hands down at such a force that their keyboard FLEXED on them?! (The HORROR 😱🙄)
Got this keyboard and only watched to figure out what the [M] indicator light next to the Scroll Lock indicator was. In my opinion, this is built VERY well. Who cares whether the aluminum faceplate is "brushed" or not? It's metal, that's for sure. Got this thing to be portable with my laptop in a small backpack, so the weight is a perfect mix with build quality (which is great imo)
This dude must like heavy aluminum bricks as keyboards. Yikes.

I'm currently using a Logitech K800 and while I've been pretty satisfied with it it does feel pretty cheap in my opinion. I primarily use my keyboard sitting on my lap and the Logitech keyboard is just really creaky, although you can't beat the battery life of it. i only have to charge it about twice a month. couple years into owning the keyboard here
I do not recommend this keyboard for it has caused me more pain than it is worth, the switches a month into owning the keyboard started chattering (aka registering two inputs per single press) and if my brother didn't know how to fix that issue by OPENING THE SWITCH AND BENDING THE METAL INSIDE that keyboard would have been useless to me and thrown onto a shelf (which is what happened to it since my brother moved away), the media control keys broke half a year of usage and are irreparable, it gets awfully dusty only a week after cleaning, it catches hair and food crumbs very well and just keeps them there unless you remove every keycap and clean it up
my advice is, just don't buy this and consider building your own off ali express, you can build a keyboard wayyy better if you know where to shop for the same price

What's wrong with the keycaps? Is it for being low-profile? There are few companies making low-profile keycaps. Cannot I replace the keycaps with one of these? Or there are other issues as well?

    • @jannokill090
      @jannokill090 Рік тому

I tried changing the keycaps with aregular one. Since the switches are low profile, the regular keycaps have a short space from the board. So it feels as though it doesn't go all the way down. And regular keycaps doesn't secure on the switches properly. Pops off sometimes. So no, keycaps fpr this should be low key/ thin key caps.

Just got this and tried it out. Connection with the usb 2.4 key was a nightmare! Many issues like: it would only register the first key i type, or it would miss keys that i input. I had the usb c cable plugged in to power it since it was brand new, but that shouldn't interfere with the other usb wireless connection? Would the Bluetooth connection be more stable i wonder?
The dropped keys and bad connection persisted whether the usb c was plugged into my laptop or plugged into a different power source. Has anyone else experienced this?
I'm quite disappointed. I tried the logitec g915 before this k618, but the software was compete garbage and wouldn't let me program different profiles as advertised. I hated how expensive the logitec was for it to still be buggy and fail to deliver features. Sadly i think this red dragon keyboard performs much worse.
