Hey Brian, great follow up tutorial - cheers. UPDATE: this video, part two of a two-part series, does such a good job of helping bridge the gap between particle functionality in C4D and the kind of things you can do in X-P but don't want to pay for X-P. Also, Brian is incredibly responsive and goes way above and beyond, very cool indeed. I can't smash that like button hard enough without ruining my stylus.
Hey, Thank you for the comment. I'm not too sure why it is not rendering for you. Happy for you to send me over the scene file and I can have a look. Make sure the renderer is set to redshift. It may also be a case of updating your GPU drivers. Some of the older GPU drivers have issues with the newer versions of redshift.
Love it, but I do not see this 3D sculpt site when I search, and I was very interested in how you did the sparkles. They fade off, and everything I've ever tried using particles in C4D just shut off over time-no choice to fade
thanks, its works, but in the final render, the lines doesn´t appears but the dots particles yes, but in the preview appears the lines and the dots, do you know what its happening ?
Fantastic! BUT - the rendering works with the IPR, but it doesn't work when actually rendering with Picture Viewer. I there something I missed, like an option I have to tick somewere?
Could be a few things, it might be worth converting the animation to an alembic or caching the animation and then rendering. Make sure your drivers are up to date also. If that does not work happy to have a look at the scene file for you.
Hey! I love this tutorial and I tried to use it for my own project! I have to emit specific patterns do you think I could do something like this with Xparticles? Its like a big cloth thread!
Hey !! Thank you. The tools in C4D can be used natively with X-particles. You may be able to do it without X-particles depending on how much art direction and complex the set-up is.
Very cool! There's so many great tools in c4d that just needs the right knowledge and combination! I'm trying to get my particles to follow a set spline (a letter in this case) how would I go about that? It doesn't seem like my particles like specific spline shapes?
The force field allows you to to control the movement of particles emitting. You can add a spline in the force field. Instead of using the emitter, you could experiment with aligning an array or clones to a spline. This offers a bit more control. Dynamics can be difficult to control, setting up a simple clone system with key frame animation can have the same results. There are several ways to approach it. It might be worth me doing a video on it.
When I render my animation using this technique it doesn't render the traced particles even though they are in a sweep. They show up when working on it in the ipr but when I render a animation it is just not there. Any idea why?
I've got a question. I've just bout the project file btw. Thanks! So, how can I make the emitter only emit 5 lines in a linear way like a 'music staff'? So tracing 5 clean lines parallel
Hey!! Thanks for commenting. Because you need a high level of control, it could work better if you are using a cloner and mospline instead of an emitter. Clone 5 splines at equal distance apart, use the mospline to control the speed at which the lines animate. Apply the Redshift tag to the Mospline object.
There are several ways to animate. It might be worth doing a future video on it. The most straightforward way is to manually keyframe the colors and set a loop function on the keyframes. I'm sure there are waysit could be animated with drivers, random effectors and some simple Xpresso which I can look into for future videos.
Hi, Thanks a lot for tuturial, i have a question. How can i Emitter make it realy smooth ? Cause changing adaptive in spline not enought smooth can u help pls
Amazing tutorial but I'm having trouble rendering this. Everything looks as it should in the RenderView but when I go to render, I get a black frame. Any thoughts?
Hey, Check the following: Render is set to Redshift. Your GPU drivers are up to date Your software (C4D & RS) is updated You are applying the texture to the tracer object Double check the vertex attribute node is set up correctly Close any other applications that are using GPU resource (After Effects)
Thanks for bringing light to the issue. Let me know if any of my recommendation in my first response works. If the issue persists, I'll make a video on how to resolve after investigating. It would really help if you could send over the scene files. @@colinsass6637
I looked it up and tracer only works when rendering the frames of the animation in order. You have to render it out to see the final result. You can see the final result in IPR but to actually render it, you have to render out all the frames before the one you are looking at to get tracer to work.
What do you think a fair price is ? Where are you based ? The prices will likely come down over time. It is worth mentioning the tutorial to make what is in the project file is free. None of my tutorials will ever be pay walled. I appreciate your feedback, it would be helpful to know what you think is a fair price. This helps as the channel and shop grows.
Thank you man! this is gold keep going RS stuff :p
Thank you. There is plenty of RS content on the roadmap.
Thank you for making lean and mean tutorials!
More to come!
Excellent! This really helped clarify a lot of things in C4D and RS.
Glad it helped!
very helpful tip using vertex attribute for curve id. thanks
It blew my mind when I first discovered it 😀
@@BoldBreak earlier I tried fracturing the tracer and randomizing display color for each curve. i though color user data would read it, but no luck.
@@Androken Greats minds think alike. I'm sure they will put this into a future update or it could be done with the node system in cinema 4D.

The sparkles are done in After Effects. But you could do them in C4D with the emitter using an missive material.

Check if the RS Object tag is applied with the Curves turned on.

Hi, I have the same problem, could you find a solution?
There are separate sliders for emission values for viewport and render. Make them the same value 🎉
Feel free to send me the scene files, Happy to have a look for you.
