Thanks. But u can use also standart material for hairs if u use tag RedShift Object. At least I use it for tracer. I like this idea to use hair position for gradient.
For a basic hair system the tracer is a viable option but for work requires more complexity it is best to use the C4D hair object. Many hair systems requires dynamics and thousands/millions of strands. The hair shader works differently to other shaders. Physical hair has completely different properties to the standard shader such as Melanin.
Try in the Redshift Render View. Update your GPU, make sure you are using the latest version of Redshift. If it is still not working happy to look at your scene files.
Exactly the topic that lots of RSguys are searching now, how the fck we can textured principled hair in vertex map source or putting a patterned texture. And I don't know why but since last updates, we can't use the basic RS Hair anymore.. We actually fight on it in a prod
Hey Happy for you to email over the scene files. I can have a look through and see what might be happening. Are you on the latest version of C4D and Redshift ?
Thanks for replying. What I mean is, using vertex map to mask where there is hair or not, or to make its density based on a gradient. Among other things. I've researched it and it seems that vertex maps work fine for Standard render, but still problematic for Redshift, still unavailable to work on RS-IPR.
Hey @@rodolfo_23 Thanks for outlining what you meant. Yes there is still cross compatibility issue with the hair system in cinema 4D. This will improve over time but its currently a bit of a mess. The series on hair ties to address the confusion around hair. However after feedback from people, another video may be needed to cover a few more bits.
Fab - thanks for sharing!
High praise from the Expresso Guru ;)

Hello,
Even if I have the hair renderer on in the settings, the hair will not appear. Does somebody know why?
Help is appreciated :)

I have a hair collider tag applied to my character but the hair still passes through the model. Any ideas on why this happens? I'm using R23.
What version of Cinema 4D are you using ? there have been issues with Hair which were fixed in the December update.
Thank you for this! Very well instructed, and very well received!
Thanks, you're good, but the magnifier as a cursor is a very bad idea
Thank you for the feedback, it is no longer used in our videos
thank you! rly waiting for you to continue this series

Its a tricky subject to approach. Hopefully I can continue giving the whole system clarity. Thank you for the feedback.
@@BoldBreak Thank you very much for your R&D shares. Best regards

exactly the info I needed in a short amount of time, thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi
If I can ask you to advice about vertex mapping for hair? seems liek simple but doesnt work :(

@@BoldBreak Is this about hair density? Any light on that?
Part 2 & 3 touch on this @@rodolfo_23
