Who actually reads MSM critics? They’re on the payroll already
I'm sure Jeremy gained as many subscribers as he lost for his review. Any honest critic gets my sub.
Imagine living in a world where you can't even listen to a different take. How fragile is the foundation of your values if you could be corrupted so easily
It's the behavior of someone who knows, deep down, that their worldview is false.
Corporate Media Outlets broke the feedback loop; They turned off dislikes, curated the critics, and vetted the shills; “our product is receiving favorable reviews” became a masturbatory statement. So people went elsewhere to find sincerity.
I follow Jeremy Jahns because we align on our review opinions. Him reviewing this cemented my love and respect for his channel.

Me? I tend to read a plethora of interviews of people I’d agree with don’t agree with. Sometimes seeing art through another person’s lens makes you appreciate it from a different perspective.

They need to be referred to as "film promoters" not "film critics"
Critics are scared to be cancelled by the audience and banned from the studios.

I don' trust "official critics". When they give positive ratings to a movie, I normally don' go. When they give negative ratings, I pay more attention and eventually go see the movie.

True, but they were also very aligned with left-wing worldview. Still, far better than anything we have today; which is either shills afraid of sponsorship, or "toxic fans" afraid of fandoms and pulling punches on patronizing fan-service crap.

I thoroughly enjoy having discussions with people about movies that I disagree with if I know they’re being honest, if it’s a movie I love and they hate it, I am dying to know what didn’t work for them about it, or vice versa. I have no interest in hearing a review from someone who is disingenuous, positive or negative.
So right about Chris Stuckman. Its like he forgot the primary purpose of a critic is to save people's time and frustration from sinking 2+ hours into a bad movie, and spreading the word about good movies. Yes it sucks for those involved when you put real effort in and it fails, but that's life, and lets be real those people still got paid salary for their work! Nothing but ego lost if it fails for them. The only ones impacted are the big guys at the top who invested! You are doing people a dis-service as your "fans" by not letting people know a movie isn't good. Who is the priority Chris S, the fans or your good graces with Hollywood so you can "maybe be a director one day" (LOL get real).
Its why I LOVE when I find an honest critic that also syncs up with my preferences. That's really the goal. Jeremy (and as of this year Film Threat as I found him late), are both critiques who's tastes line up with mine, try to be honest, and try to give many movies a fair shake.
People crave, respect, and want honest genuine people from ANYWHERE, not just film critics. Work, news, UA-camrs, friends, family - Everyone has masks on, acts, never honest or direct. I know I'm tired of it. I seek out genuine people to bring into my life. I can't do the fake small talk mask crap. I want that in the people in my life, and who I put my trust in online. I really appreciate you guys telling it like it is. We need more of that in this world all over. Problems can't be fixed if they cannot even be identified properly first!
I agree with Chris that all critics have biases, and that's good. I've always gravitated towards critics that have their own voice. I've like Chris since the magazine days because reading his reviews, I felt like I knew him. Do my tastes line up with Chris exactly? No, but we have a lot of overlap, and even when we disagree, I enjoy his thoughts. The same goes for Alan now, as well.
The problem with modern, mainstream critics isn't their personal biases. It is the opposite problem. They aren't telling you what they think. They are telling you what they think they are supposed to say both to please the studios and to appease their audience. The state of movie criticism would be far better with more personal biases in reviews.

I don't trust the audience fresh/rotten ratings anymore. The most recent remake of "Shaft" has a 94% fresh rating from 5,000+ verified reviewers. But I still wanna see "Am I Racist?"
I’ll admit it, I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Will I though? Yes. Because that’s what my viewers like to see, my shenanigans and reviews. Jermey Jahns is a prime example of sticking to his opinions and not caring about “politics”.

Matt Walsh went off on Twitter about people not reviewing the movie. He should have mentioned Film Threat. Mentioning the ones that are good reviewers will be good for both brands

I do enjoy Keri Smith's deprogrammed channel panel show on Christian movies. I wasnt going to see Sound of hope/possum trot texas but her panel pushed me to it
One of my favorite critics is Jeff Sneider. He’s someone who’s gotten somewhat of a bad boy reputation in film criticism. He’s very opinionated, and most of those opinions don’t jibe with most modern audiences. And he rails about how modern critics are basically GIANT PUSSES who have no backbone!!! I don’t always agree with Sneid, but I respect his opinion because he’s honest. He doesn’t kowtow to group thing like most people do nowadays. It’s really sad that people can’t express their opinions anymore.

Matt Walsh included your review in this latest video, quoting you and Jeremy Jahns as the only prominent critics who have reviewed his movie.
The best known film critic in the UK was a fellow called Barry Norman. He told a story that as young man he got a job working in South Africa. While there he became quite friendly with a young black man. One of his workmates saw him and told him not to go talking to Kiffars like that. Norman remarks that if he were a braver man he should have said something. He wasnt, he didn’t and instead he became the BBC's film correspondent for decades.
The slur is "Kaffers", but point taken. (a cursory search mentions working for newspapers in South Afica and Zimbabwe)
That's like a doctor that only visits healthy people because giving sick people bad news is a bummer
They are cowards because they sold their credibility. If they were ever to try to buy it back, it would cost them access.
I remember Chris on FNT claiming he's super chill and how it takes a lot to get him worked up, though I would say this video says otherwise. I understand he's kinda doing a bit and having a half serious temper tantrum, but he's 100% upset and letting his emotions get ahead of him. I really like Chris Gore but he has to relax. Anyway, love the show and shout out to Allen for stoically handling Gores fits.
Could you imagine if professionals in other fields took the stance that mainstream movie critics took? Suppose a surgeon didn't do a life saving operation on someone because they disagreed with the patient's politics? What if an engineer refused to do his due diligence in ensuring that a bridge was structurally sound, because the bridge was in part of the country that held opposing political views to his? In both cases, not only would allowing such personal biases to get in the way of doing ones job be considered unprofessional, it would be criminal. Granted, while the stakes in movie criticism are not life and death, for a critic to refuse to view a film because of their political leanings is EQUALLY unprofessional.

They’re not cowards. They don’t want to give the movie any recognition. They are fighting a cultural war.
Because politics has seeped into entertainment. Thanks to other members of Hollywood. They will face backlash for reviewing it. It’s incredibly chickenshit and a real pity that we are at this point.

When your own worldview is something you embrace because you want to be part of an exclusive club, and the willingness to look at alternative views guarantees your ouster from that club, you refuse to look at contrary points of view. That, in a nutshell, describes most mainstream critics.

I REALLY love the tone of this series. Seems to be a lot less of "Star Wars sucks" (played out) and more of a broader culture take.

They will not review it, because it will break the arthouse & big moviemaker leftish newspaper, magazine, newsnetwork and tv-media kabal. So they use we do not review it by not saying anything tactic.
The thing is now a days anyone and everyone is a critic b/c of social media to the point were it means way less then it use to, if anything at all. So the better question is, how can you trust movie + media reviews? 🤔

Its just another layer to the genius of this film. Not reviewing it discredits you as a critic, and everyone can see you not reviewing it. Its time for film critics to decide if they are activists or film critics.

Perhaps some dont want to see or review a movie that they suspect may have an agenda to it and that goes both ways. Or some may be burnt out by all this culture war bickering that the film title is an immediate turnoff. Im personally not interested in seeing it, but either watch/review it or don't. People who review it shouldnt be shamed and neither should those who choose not to.
The reason left wing critics aren't reviewing it is because they remember what happened with Sound of Freedom. They gave it a ton of attention and negative press, and it only ended up fueling the movie massively at the box office.

Blame the economy, we have people doing onlyfans to put food on the table. Might I add that most reviews are AI generated now and just rewritten by the few that actually do know how to edit articles they submitted to the mass to consume. Audible, MSM news and few others Do this all the time. Go see the movie or wait for streaming that’s what I’m going to do cause millennials parents bring their kids to anything these day.

People need to get past the notion there is such a thing anymore as a "film critic". Closest thing to one is Film Threat or RLM, and even you guys are bias. Other than that, the people that review for the MSM are just writing what the studios tell them to and critics on You Tube don't know what they're talking about, might as get a review from anyone off the street.
