Keep up the great work!
You're not very consistant. You seem to like censorship. Any criticism of Israel is a nono. Any criticism of our actions towards Russia, is also not allowed.
Never mentioned the HR6090 antisemitism awareness act can’t criticise Isreal or you’re labelled a you know what this speech legislation is not problem to you ofc
@@sueyourself5413
Not true. It is that most of the "criticism" is made up and peddled by the jew-haters in vogue.
Don’t forget that what’s happening in Brazil can happen in the US as well.
* has already begun to happen 🫤
Do you think one president in cahoots with one judge can shut down X in the US? Because that's how easy it was in Brazil. Here, the checks and balances are much stronger. It'll take a lot more to make it happen. Besides, the tyrants here know this, and that's why they do it more indirectly or through secret means.
Then don’t vote for Harris. She is a Marxist.
My imagination, or was censorship barely mentioned - despite the title??
(I am relentlessly cen sored here, btw)
Never mentioned the HR6090 antisemitism awareness act can’t criticise Isreal or you’re labelled a you know what this speech legislation is not problem to you ofc
My husband is an example of what Konstantin is saying, he no longer watches mainstream television, because there is no comedy for our generation, so he watches re runs of old programs and they make him laugh, which makes me happy. 😃
I know many ppl like that!
You can’t have comedy without offending someone. Some people can’t handle being offended, and that’s nothing new, but we used to just ignore them, unlike now.
I too watch old films , i bit tired but not so much propoganda ,lecturing ,hectoring ànd and every third person is eith gay les or in a mixe marraige where the man is a complete dickhead
Sensitivity training is the first step toward censorship.
Ends in millions behind barbed wire
I love Konstantin and Francis. Triggernometry is well worth the time.
"...and Francis". Politeness is not dead!
I grew up in a communist country too and my parents did exactly the same thing. They advised us kids to never repeat what was being said in our home including at school because the children of party members would likely inform their parents of any talk happening at school that would be perceived as counterrevolutionary.
Now it is becoming the same here. If kids have patriotic rightwing parents, they are advised to keep quiet about these views in public. And schools here do ostracise rightists. One young UKIP supporter was referred to the police a few years back. I too spent time under communism and it has been a tremendous shock to find myself hating and fearing my own elected government now nearly as much as Czechs hated and feared the Husak government, for similar reasons.
Almost 4000 people have been arrested this year in England for illegal posts on the Internet. If you’re going to be interviewed about a topic, then you should have the figures and statistics. The British people are unable to revolt, because they don’t have firearms. That is the founding fathers exact point about the second amendment.
Konstantin made lots of people aware of these figures/statistics in previous interviews. It was at 3000 under the "Conservative" government as he mentioned in his interview with John Anderson (the fmr. Australian deputy PM), and I'm sure he will point out the rise when we have the first year of Labour government in numbers. The new government only took power a couple of weeks ago, so if he pointed to specific numbers, people would accuse him of blaming the previous' governments actions on the current one.
And if they use firearms what then? Will they not just wind up dead or in prison? I agree people need to fight back but by undermining their institutional power and gaining more ourselves and through decentralization and finding other channels to communicate, trade, educate and work outside the regimes as much as possible. Guerrilla tactics.
Oh my goodness, this is exactly what I say to my child who goes to the local comp: don't repeat these conversations at school, & don't believe all that your teachers tell you.
Absolutely grim 😢
Oh wow. I am in Ukraine, recognise it from Soviet past... Also 'don't stand out' is what used to be said to kids as self protection. Have you become communists?(((
It feels like it 🇬🇧😢
I’d be in prison for life if I was over there.
Ditto. I would go from immigration to an orange jumpsuit quickly.
Same.
Same, I'm one Huge TERF. lol

The best type of diversity is the diversity of opinion. We have two ears. One is on the left and the other is on the right. There is no point in surrounding yourself with every gender, sexual orientation and race under the sun if everyone has the same political affiliations or allegiances. At what stage does a progressive finally draw a line in the sand and start conserving? Where are the boundaries for a progressive? Are there any limits or taboos?
There are no boundaries and there is no arriving because the whole point is continual revolution. If your goal is utopia you never get there.
Sounds like Jordan’s “when does the Left go too far?”
Yes, there are taboos and limits to progressives - if you disagree with them or dare to ask questions that make them have to coherently defend their absurdly contradictory ideology, that is taboo and crossing the limit. Apart from that, the more radical the merrier - insanity by their logic is just taking progress further.
Comedy in UK was the only thing that kept the British sain! In 2020’s there’s no such thing as comedy here 😡😡
The country of Monty Python, Mr. Bean, Keeping Up Appearances, Red Dwarf etc. is no longer a place of laughter.
Oh come on now there's plenty of "comedy". It's just not remotely funny.
@@emultra759 The director of the BBC admitted a few years ago that Monty Python would not get hired by the BBC today because they're not diverse enough.
The public tells you what they want, then the public starts screaming at you what they want, and then you know what comes next!
It starts with censorship and ends up with giant prison camps.
Rather than enacting laws against any speech that might offend someone, maybe we should teach people to not be offended. Words hurt because we allow them to offend us.
Always a good discussion between these two.
Excellent.
No one has ever censored anything for your own good only their own
I hate to say for once Konstantin that you are completely wrong on a fact but I and all the retired age adults in UK that I know haven't just switched to You Tube, etc, they've actually dispensed with having a TV licence. Older know much better than younger people what's gone wrong with the BBC - they HATE the BBC for what they've done, and are quite happy to do away with live terrestrial TV. All the terrestrials have gone woke and Starmer is now demonstrating that he hates pensioners almost as much as he hates the working classes. But you are right about the attempted 'Sovietisation' of our children. People love your life story. It's so interesting to hear a fresh perspective of what Britain's like from people who have come into our country.
I had cancer and the NHS treatment I received was top class.

The NHS is reactive; not proactive.

He might want to look at the court case, Jerry Fallwel vs. Hustler. (Larry Flint)
It's time to outlaw Gavin Newsom and his ilk.
@@George-vf7ssOh no doubt when he’s sued over it (well, the state) it’ll be shot down.
Triggernonetry rocks! Thanks guys.
It would be nice to think that the BBC might watch this and understand. But I doubt it.
If you grew up a decent Baptist kid in the 70’s you got the same chat that Russian parents gave their kids. It’s really important that all parents teach their children not to believe what they hear at school.
Of course, we were free to talk about what we learned at home. Encouraged, though we knew it would upset our teachers.
I had to give my kid the same lecture when she went to school and that's England 2024 ffs
This is at the same time as Australia is doing something similar
ALL countries of the world are going this way.
The biggest problem with the first amendment is that it should have been the second, and the second the first. That which one can defend is what one can keep.
Andrew. All English are fair. English is an ethnic identity. British can be of different skin tones. Saying white English is unnecessary
Humour, mocking satire and ridicule need to go in overdrive.......
Konstantin is one of the most honest and intelligent man’s in our society.
Man, Klavan's take on the NHS was ignorant af. The NHS is the ability for every citizen to have access to free health care and not be bankrupted by it like has been the case for many US citizens. The issue with the NHS isn't the NHS, nor the people who work it, it's the outrageous immigration that the governments have let overrun not just the NHS, but other tax funded services that many lifelong Brits had paid into and have depended on. First time tuning into your show (watching because I'm a Konstantin fan) and that really hit a nerve with me
Absolutely enjoyed watching this episode with my two favorite people ❤
Kk never change who you are and what you believe, just grow and be more of what you are. Effing excellent interview between two top men. Thank you and love you both❤
Diversity is a strength for a corporation, but it is toxic for a nation. Both corporations and nation can be good, and both diversity being good and bad can be true.
Diversity of thought is good for a corporation. All other diversity is irrelevant.
@@hooligan9794 Yes.
@@hooligan9794 that is not true for large corporations who want to do business all over the world. It is good for corporations to be agnostic about religion, borders, language, race, language, religion to varying degrees, but those same attributes that foster business erode the cohesiveness of a nation if unbridled.
Depends how one defines Diversity. Diversity of thought and ideas etc is generally a positive everywhere
regarding andrews point at 19:00 , invasion is technically what immigration becomes when segregation is outlawed. therefore, there has been no immigration since civil rights in the 1960s
America - the least racist country. Almost everyone is in immigrant so in the uk it is very different when it comes to early acceptance of such vast change. not racism, more being uncomfortable about vast change.
Like the censorship of Candace Owens' Christ is King declaration?
Oh knock it off. That was so obnoxious of her. No one censored her either.
Regarding the anecdote about Robin Williams on German TV, I have never seen receipts for that one. When Ed O´Neill tells this, he adds that the flustered Germans immediately cut to commercials. Which is impossible ofc, because German programs at the time weren´t interrupted by commercials. I wonder where it comes from.
Death of comedy!!!! Sad
Thank God there is still some land that hasn't been built on...
The moment Klavan talks about his gay son is the moment I shut off. It's all he talks about. Broken record. Let's see. --Wow, he made it 👍
As usual KK is one of the most sensible, measured and coherent thinkers in this whole culture war thing. If only voices like his were valued and part of the political elite in the UK.
However, unfortunately, instead we have a radically liberal, globalist, metropolitan elite in charge of our national institutions, the civil service, universities, our national broadcasting corporation, the mainstream media and most local governments. These people have a very narrow perspective, they live in metropolitan, politically progressive bubblles and gain virtue from their own luxury beliefs. Because of this they flatly refuse to lsten to, or platform, people like KK who don't share their ideological position or dogmatic persepctive, people who speak as they find and simply talks sense. Instead, we have a nation mostly captured by the woke mind virus and the post modern, neo-Marxist, lunatic fringe.
Let's hope KK doesn't decide to chuck it all in and move to the US, we would be poorer without him.
It's not knowing which post will get you arrested is the big problem. Its arbitrary and it has a full on chilling effect. Which is the intention. Not just Starmer, the previous party set up the legislation. Just as free speech advocates warned it could be misused.
To be an Everyman.
Great conversation, thoughtful considered opinions, thank you for this
Like this classik 70s Intro
"People in the UK think more about people at the bottom of the ladder"
People in the US voluntarily give more and volunteer more to help people at the bottom of the ladder. The UK gives .84% of it's gdp in private charitable giving, ranking seventh in the table coming in at just under half the US figure. Given the hundreds of countries counted, that is impressive. US tops this figure at 1.85%, with Israel a close second at 1.35%. In the US it is overwhelmingly the conservatives who give, as is documented in "Who Really Cares?". Apparently the notion that government should have or does have the primary responsibility for a "charitable" response to poverty inversely correlates to charitable giving.
Exactly. The ppl of the UK might see it as the government’s job to look after the little guy, if I’m not mistaken, in the US, the majority of our budget goes to entitlements. However, I do hear that the majority of her budget goes to the military, and I don’t know who is correct. At any our entitlement proportion is high.
The U.K. gives a lot in overseas aid. The U.S. sits at the top of the tree, in this respect, and Germany marginally higher, but the U.K. often looks abroad to recognise those at the "bottom of the ladder" who they ( the Establishment ) feel actually deserve the resources.
It's a smug, elitist, attitude, fostered by people who've enjoyed an Oxbridge education and basically refuse to see blue-collar, British people, as deserving of assistance.
@@jamesatkinson7691 Agreed. There appears to be something endemic with the British Elites' attitude to the working/lower classes - or who they regard as the lower classes. In recent decades, the working class/lower classes have been particularly 'despised' by both Govts. As a consequence, these classes realise that they no longer have a voice, as they once did with Labour (Left). Labour are now 'just' Left of Centre, with some bizarre Champagne Socialist ideas thrown in for good measure. Essentially a middle class suburban party, that also favours all minority groups except the indigenous working classes. In many respects nothing has changed since the height of the British Empire, from the mid/late 1800s etc, regarding attitudes to lower classes, whereby the levels of poverty in Britain at this height were staggering.
Everyone you know has private health insurance? really? I don't know anyone who has private health insurance. (Other than through an employer.) I've no doubt that Konstantin intends to see out his days in the USA.
Oh dear
Thank you for pronouncing his name correctly 😊
In fact, no. Klavan mispronounces Konstantin's surname as "Kizn" (listen for yourself). It is correctly pronounced the way it is spelled in the Roman alphabet (i.e. Kiss-in). The original Russian spelling of his name is Константин Кисин, and if you can't read Cyrillic just copy and paste it into Google Translate. The final consonant is an "s," not a "z".
did you mean the tories were in from 2010 to 2024 not till 2014; 14 years in? just askin'
Labour held Govt from 1997-2010. We then had a Conservative led Cons-Liberal Democrat coalition for 5 years, Conservatives regained full control from the 2015 General Election and stayed in power until this year.
You forgot Jimmy Dore who has 1.4 million subscribers and still does stand up.
Atheism reinforced liberalism and took out the defences against totalitarianism.
I don't care what anyone says. I have freedom of speech. Always have and always will. It's not given to me by any person or organisation or government and therefore cannot ever be taken away by any government. It is a god given right. So 🖕 and like it because that's what you're getting from me, understood?

As someone from the UK, while I totally respect your opinion and some aspects are absolutely true, the bulk of this is waffle. I would consider myself a conservative voter, however, calling Kier Starmer's centrist Labour Party 'Far-Left' is just laughable
It takes experience and wisdom to read and judge actions before pretty words.
Not as laughable as thinking the entire white, working class are "far right".
"the bulk of this is waffle" and then you go on to cite ONE single example, which is also arguable (just because a government that has only just come into power hasn't enacted much far-left legislation YET does not mean they they are not "far-left" in their intentions). Logical thought is not your strong suit, it would seem.
@@DieFlabbergast First of all, just because we have disagreements doesn’t mean we have to be uncivil.
