Hey Chris, I'm a carpenter by trade, I restore trucks as a hobby, and income. My opinion the building came out excellent! The floor looks great also, you worry too much dude. All your videos vastly informative and entertaining. You just keep on doing what you're doing and I'll keep on watching 👍✌️🇺🇲
I don't get all the negative UA-cam viewers. Derek from VGG is awesome, but so are you. Both channels are FREE content and us demanding a schedule or any specific type of content is just ridiculous. Thank you for posting this video and the new shop looks amazing.
I personally love the randomness of your channel. Just real people living real lives doing real things. Doesn't get any better. The garage is coming along beautifully. See ya in the next one!
Concrete shrinks when it cures so getting it perfectly level is almost impossible, when I built storage facilities we would always turtle back the slab so water ran out
I really missed that cut 😂 should of called me would have been there first thing. Enjoy Thank You For having Harry Scancella General Concrete llc to help with your project.
Great job on the garage Chris.I am very glad that you have built a new garage. Got rid of the old garage from the trash at last. I hope the garage lasts a long time and once rots ..
Don’t apologize, you don’t owe us anything. I appreciate your all your hard work, I’m bringing us along on the journey. I hope to build a pole barn soon, so this is all very informative.
I appreciate you and your channel for not being fake or posting “filler” videos. Run your channel as how you want too man. Even if you need a bit of a break. Burn out is a real thing in this UA-cam game.
9:12 Here in New Zealand we have this thing called tasmex, the ants take it back to the nest and it kills them at the nest, its amazing stuff. see if you can get it.
Been waiting for this one. I know you’ve said this isn’t your normal content but i think it lends to what you do and fits the channel showing your progress and the ability to do more.
You post videos when you choose and we can choose to watch them when we want. In my opinion your channel is one of the best if not the best on youTube. I'm still in awe of your skills and abilities and most of all admire your attitude and patience toward your projects. I'm still trying to figure out where you got all of your training as it's hard to find someone so well versed in the wide range of abilities. From boat motors, autos, jet ski engines, etc. You sir have skills.
I've ran a concrete pump truck and concrete mixer truck for 10 years... your doing the right thing by keeping it wet.. it makes the concrete slow down from curing to fast... Im really surprised your are keeping it wet.. Most people don't know or do it . Awesome job 👏 👊👊👊👊
I haven't watched VGG in a while. But I always watch NNKH. Great video. Love that you are patient with it. We are patient with you. Keep doing what makes you happy. Very sweet of Jen to share in your happiness about it and even getting sheets down. Nice work.
@TiffanySmith-ed2lj he said at the end that people are threatening to unsubscribe to his channel and watch other like VGG that post more often. That's all. No drama.
Chris, level the floor with 2 part apoxy seals the floor and protects it as you know. Use a floor water squeegee. It's really simple. And puts a nice color solid or swirl finish. Looks awesome brother.
@turbolab2376 well, the puddling up bothers him as a masonry 30 day is enough time to protect the floor If he's interested in it the apoxy put in will level it out also.
Only one problem, he has to wait 28 days for it to cure before he can epoxy the floor. I know what it feels like to be so close to being able to use your new shop but can't until the epoxy is done...
Chris, I wanted to let you know that you have become my favorite youtuber. I've been subscribed for about a year and I look forward to your videos on both channels more than Vice Grip Garage, Hoovies Garage, Junkyard Digs, and so many others. You are smart, thoughtful, an excellent teacher and engaging to watch. I love to still learn things. Keep up the great content. And remember, you are the REAL Chris Fix.
Chris Hello Friend I thought this was very interesting, seeing your new workshop being built, and being a Automotive Technician by trade, I also have my hands in construction work and thought this new shop is coming along great ,so keep up the awesome work 😃😃🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪💪👍👍👍👍
Kudos to you for all your hard work and research in getting the garage built to your satisfaction. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it come together. As for the type and frequency of content...no complaints here. Yeah, others like VGG may be more consistent in posting, but I find your channel more down to earth without the hype and ridiculous humor. Don't change a thing.
Hey Rennaisance Man, I would supplement those with some Led Bars on the side walls where you think your lift may be. The overhead LEDS are great but they cast shadows when working under the hood or underneath a vehicle.. Side lighting helps a lot
Your energy level and your know-how are what make your channel legitimate entertainment and interesting. I enjoy AND learn things listening to you. Nice new building, really happy for you!

You know the difference between you and the rest of the world Chris? Most people look for the quickest, easiest way to get a job done, usually settling for an inferior finished product but you do the opposite. Your mind keeps thinking of ways to do a job that will make it perfect no matter how much effort you have to give to the job. You’re a very rare individual and that’s why you have so much knowledge about so many different things. I wish I would’ve had a few like you in my career in management. Turns out I had none.

Good stuff, it's important because so many of us have either done it or will do it, sometime in the future, I used moving blankets for mats to keep the floor wet while it cured for seven days when I did mine . a great video stay the way Chris there will always be haters .
I know about flooding! My two brothers and I took turns at continual flooding for seven days, a whole week of our summer vacation. Thirty years later it was still the best part of the garage. Looked the same as the day it was built.
I’m super happy you brought us along for the new building. Don’t worry about the negative comments. It’s a happy surprise when I see a new NNKH video. I also really appreciate the random bits of knowledge and the pricing.
As I was leaving the Langhorne Lowe’s to make a left onto Route 1 this week, of course I didn’t make the light. So I waited and waited and waited because it has to be the longest timed light in recorded human history. As I was sitting there watching everyone happily driving on Route 1 in front of me, I looked up at the back of the sign on the island and saw your NNKH sticker. It made me smile to know you felt my pain also.
Just so you know, when we take concrete cylinders for testing, we place them in water for a 7 day, 14 day and 28 day test under compression to determine the PSI strength
Good to see you & it’s good to see you getting your shop well underway , it’s very much deserved. I Appreciate your having us Along , I’ll Catch you on the next one . Keep it safe out there

Its amazing to see how big differences there are in building techniques between countries, in everything from making the foundation, raising the building, how you deal with floor drains etc etc.
Hey Chris, Wife and I are totally jelly on your new shop. We sold our family home last year and are currently on the hunt for our forever home up hear on the Pacific NW. One of the non starters is no shop or place to build a shop. We spent 16 years in our last home which was in the heart of a HOA infested high density housing neighborhood. It was a lot of house for our 4 kids. But once they flew the coup, that house had to go. Gina, my wife said at one point, if I die in this house you know something went horribly wrong with my life. Luckily we got out. Can't wait to see what you do with your new space. Maybe drink a few beers with friends and have a rematch to see who can hand saw a 4x4 the fastest (just watched that on NNKH2 last night 😉) . All the best to you, Jen and Gus. Cheers!
The floor looks good. It’s harder to get a perfectly flat floor when you’re working on an interior space because you don’t have the advantage of being able to screed the concrete using the exterior form boards as a guide. They are just floating in the concrete and trying to get as level as they can. So given all of that you look like you got a really nice floor.
I agree it could be flatter, but with GC’s today you’re doing pretty good. Good idea on the wet cure, concrete loves being wet during initial cure (3 days)

Working in the rain! I LOL'd with Jen.
I agree it could be flatter, but with GC’s today you’re doing pretty good. Good idea on the wet cure, concrete loves being wet during initial cure (3 days)
Once again, Chris illustrates why overkill is underrated. The man has conviction.
Congrats on your new shop Chris! It is looking good , I think that the floor will be just fine. Thanks for taking us along!
Jenn is the bomb 💣
So pumped to watch this
Chris i like your way of thinking, i'm pretty much the same. thats going to be a very nice garage. and i WONT unsubscribe
I think it's really cool to see that whole process, excited to see a lift and everything else you'll do in there!
I would like to say, the best videos you post are you, GF, and dog taking road trips. Recording roadside attractions. Great stuff sir!
