I only started the carnivore diet in march of this year, after a couple of weeks in, my knees didn't hurt, my lower back and my left hip also stopped hurting me. about 4 weeks in,my hands didn't hurt anymore. My arthritis is gone! I was diagnosed with arthritis years ago! This carnivore lifestyle makes you young from the inside out. Anyone out there suffering from any ailments, please try this lifestyle!

I had a Biochem prof in college in the 90's during my micobio training promote a low or grain free, seed oil free diet. People gasped when he suggested eating more saturated animal fats. I have mostly adhered to it. I do eat some arugula, cruciferous veggies, some berries, occasional squash. macadamia nuts as main nut when I have them. Main focus on meats, try to keep it legit pasture raised, wild caught fish, when possible. Any plants are a minor part of a meal. It's more that I just like them and feel small amounts of certain plants are fine. I cant give up a fresh cauliflower whole cream soup with crumbled bacon in the winter. I do eat sheep, goat and some grass fed, raw cow dairy. I am lean, healthy, and doing great on it. No matter which one of these diets one follows, the fewer carbohydrates - from any source - and toxic "veggie" oils one eats, the better.

I'm pretty much the same, although I do consume olive, coconut, and avocado oil in small amounts (via frying, mostly, or just olive oil on salads occasionally). Like another commenter, small amounts of organ meats (usually raw). I've lost 12-13 kg in the last 4 months, gained strength and stamina, and am finally showing some abs for the first time since my early 20's (I'm 61). So glad I discovered this way of eating.

On a vegan whole food diet I was fit, at the high end of the correct weight for my height and thought I was healthy. But, I had brain fog and memory lapses (I thought I had early onset dementia), high blood pressure, often felt tired, had gas and bloating, spent far too long every day on the toilet and had severe gum disease. 5 months of very low carb/carnivore and my gums have healed, teeth are white, brain is sharp, I'm the leanest I've ever been in my life, poop once a day, zero gas or bloating and my blood pressure is normal. I'm often asked if it's worth living longer if I can't enjoy the 'fun' things in life like alcohol and cake, yet I look at those foods and drinks now with disgust, not desire. My body knows what it needs is loving it. Thank you.

No processed foods! Espec cereals... I created my own predominatley carnivore diet...not trying to lose much. I am from the Atkins/Stillman generation that the high protein, modest fats, minimal carb works for the LONG HAUL of staying on a regime and not feeling DEPRIVED. THAT IS A HUGE THING FOR SOME FOLKS CHANGING THEIR LIFESTYLE. I love fruits but have learned in my older age to really minimize it. Same with green veggies. They are plain, cooked (like Spinach) and just enough to round out my dinner dominated by a generous cut of beef. I don't even eat chicken any longer I am turning 74, former runner/degree in Dance and at the gym every other day. Try 2 T of Oat Bran instead of breads and cereals if you want to keep some grain in your life for bowel purposes, whatever. The POINT IS NOT TO FEEL DEPRIVED.

I will say, while I've only been on a variant (not fully on diet) for the past week. I'm eating at noon, all meat (Chuck roast this week) 1.5-2.0 lbs. Walking 1.5-2.0 miles a day (I'm 61, with medical issues) with walker. I normally ate ramen or rice and soup. Since eating meat, I DON'T EAT AT NIGHT. I'm stunned! I wake up, (having coffee right now, with cream & S&L) but I'm not ravenously hungry!
Can't wait till end of April. I'm betting I'll be down at least 20+lbs if this keeps up

When he talks here about how all nutritional studies are in accurate he is so right. It is almost like there is a conspiracy ... do any research into any study and you can find how flawed it was... so much so, you have to ask, how did it get approved? And when you ask that, you awaken and discover there has been a purposeful lie...

I am a 58 year old woman who while previously strong and vigorous had her weight and bloodsugar issues overtake her and it almost killed me. I went from being able to hike 5-6 miles easy to NOT being able to walk half a block or climb 6 steps without panting and sweating and waiting for the eminent heart attack. I tried lowfat and even veg juicing and nope. I heard about Keto and it seemed too restrictive and complex. I dove in anyway. But I was having constant horrible extreme cravings for sweets and still felt real sick. I had a bad craving deep down for a steak so I celebrated my 2 weeks of Keto by going out and buying a huge piece of Roast! It had a huge slab of fat and altho I felt guilty I said “well it is Keto at least!” I also ate a small serving of broccoli and cheese. I felt So good and had more energy than in two years! The next day while looking up more on Keto ...I discovered Carnivore and epiphany! I realized that meat and meat fat had calmed my brain and even tho it seemed crazy I said-I am going to try this for a day or two while I research this! I found Dr. Berry first then Dr. Baker. They seemed sincere and now they have saved my life! 13 months later I am down 95 lbs! This is the same as I was at 11 months because coronavirus, big government overstepping, fears of job loss, economic collapse, and starvation from meat processing plants shutting had my PTSD screwing up my hormones and metabolism and thyroid! I stayed mostly Keto at least during this time but my comfort sweets were creeping back in! However I said June is gonna be PureJune and July is gonna be PurelyJulyly! This mantra got me back on track and even tho pure for me is still a bit dirty carnivore-My brain has calmed again, and the crazy cravings have disappeared again! It is not as easy to eat better the second time around after some screwups but I have to survive!

It makes sense that the Carnivore Diet is the "minimum viable diet." And that our ancient ancestors were "survival" athletes and meat eaters, especially in northern climates where veggies were only available 1-2 months per year. Maybe people with the genes of ancestors from locations closer to the equator are better design for eating veggies. Gorillas (also omnivores) eat mostly vegetation and weight 400 pounds, but they also eat 40 pounds of food daily to meet their nutritional needs.

Being dehydrated, high levels of oxalates, excessive salt intake, low calcium, IBD, crohns, ulcerative colitis, obesity, too much sugar, antacids, diuretics, hereditary, and of course animal protein can cause kidney stones. About the animal protein is because of the uric acid and due to the increase of calcium in the urine causing low levels of citrate in the body. You can still have meat btw.

If moving to a low/no carb diet improves how people feel and leads to weight loss, inflammation reduction, etc great. But the caveat is that there is a linear relationship between ASCVD and apoB - people on a diet high in saturated fats should be monitoring their apoB (ask ur doc for standard lipid panel including apoB) to make sure they are not building a time-bomb in their vascular system. People promoting a diet with high sat fat intake often fail to mention the importance of apoB monitoring - ASCVD events are often fatal and prolonged high level apoB should not be ignored...

A 35 year old regular Joe who doesn't even play sports or run a lot should not need a double knee replacement. However, it is all too common. Why should arthritic cartilage loss be some rampant? The evidence shows that high glucose and high insulin levels cause high inflammation. Also, plants and certainly grains are behind serious mineral malnourishment and a host of other cascading issues. My joints get seriously sore whenever I eat a big dose of carbs, especially sugar of course. A few days after stopping carbs the pain stops.

So basicaly... the only way for humans to evolve and migrate around the world the way we did, is if our food source was available pretty much everywhere in the world, given that there is no single plant that grow naturaly everywhere and has all the nutrients we need to thrive, plants are discarted. On the other hand, meat is meat no matter where you are, there will be some sort of animal that eats the local plants and does it for you. So it's clear that meat was the most important factor in our expansion to the rest of the world and our body adapted for that during long period of time... But just "recently" we are going againist it, no wonder we are sicker tan ever, despite all the medical advances.

Also, MOST IMPORTANT, WHEN MAKING THE APPOINTMENT SPECIFICALLY SAY THIS IS MY ANNUAL "WELL MAN (or woman)" VISIT. Say it AGAIN while checking in on the day of your appointment. Say it a third time in front of the doctor. Some Dr's purposely try to do something minor outside of what a "well man" visit is just to be able to code it differently and able to charge more. Happened to me. Now I am adamant about saying "annual well man visit" and go as far as to say "Dr, anything beyond my free annual wellman visit I cannot afford at this time so all I want is what will be billed as a normal annual wellman visit". Sucks to have to do this but the dr. offices know the drill and have no qualms about doing what they can to charge more if they can.
On the other hand, if you do have issues/problems, probably best not to "cheap out" and let the Dr. order what's necessary.

Sooo Doc, eating around 700 gr of meat a day with eggs and some buckwheat and some veg (small amount for now, i am a cyclist), i can now hear my heart beating like it was a massive heart, hear pumping through my body, not fast, just a deep ,robust beat. Is it the low glucose or i am turning onto a beast? I crave raw beef in the morning now.

You may have the keto flu; a low carbs diet gets rid of water retention during the first days, and with that some essential minerals like potassium and magnesium. Potassium is important for hearbeat regulation. While sodium makes your arteries and blood vessels constrict, making you heart beats stronger to push the blood around, potassium relaxes these blood vessels. It did help me to reduce my salt consumption and up my potassium intake. If you are afraid of potassium overdose, you don't have to be : you require 4,700 mg of potassium daily. I think half an avocado gives you ~700 mg. Unless you have kidney problems, more potassium in your diet should help a lot with a pounding heart.

@Andy's Tarot Your answer is so helpful! I get the same symptoms and was freaking out because I haven't heard anyone mentioning these symptoms. I need to get more potassium and perhaps less salt then! God bless ❤

The carnivore diet should be used as a tool to shape you. So you can become better of the kinds of meats you eat and where they come from. Nothing beats a well rounded diet. So long as Said diet is well rounded.

There is no "well rounded diet"

    • @richardgeiman538
      @richardgeiman538 3 роки тому +2

@@Xeldril I disagree. Even though it varies from person to person just like body composition age, height, weight, and any thing else that makes us unique human beings. There is such a thing. Its your job as an intelligent being to figure out what your body needs as far as nutrition. It's sad that the media is either selling you that either one diet is the right way, or that there is no such thing. If we were more in tune with our natural selfs There would be no question in the matter. Such is the de evolution of man until nature checks us back in line. We have become to smart to care what a perfect "diet" would be. So now we look to youtube to tell us.
