Thank you Dr. Berry for everything you do! My income is SS and $23 in food stamps. I live in southern AZ and here we have a Food City which is considered a Mexican grocery store. They have the 73% ground beef which come in these 7-8 lb pkgs for $2.99 lb all the time. They always have chicken thighs and legs for around $1.29 lb. My local Safeway had london broil for $1.97 lb. I bought 20 lbs and pressure cook it and it is just so delicious & tender. I buy the cheap white eggs from Walmart. 75% of my meals are ground beef and eggs. Once a week I eat liver. I also eat sardines, canned salmon, and chicken. I buy bacon when on sale and save that precious bacon grease to cook my eggs in. I buy what's on sale and everything taste so good and I am never hungry. God bless you and your family.

There is progress happening. My diabetic husband was in the hospital for 5 days and requested a carnivore menu. The dietician happily accommodated and let him order eggs and bacon or as many hamburger patties as he wanted. They called up before each meal and asked what he would like.

Yes, far from what I've seen. My Husband too was hospitalized for knee surgery and is Diabetic. The menu restrictions were too limiting if he is only given foods approved for his condition. With questionable and unrecognizable meats! I was appalled. He us not on Carnivore yet, but I wish for us to try to help his increasing weight, cravings for sweets or alcohol... 😢

      You call that progress?
In England doctors want patients to get better and heal faster to shorten the hospital stay. They offer meat and dairy free menus. NOW THAT IS PROGRESS!
Here in Canada they push meat and dairy. If you are not sick when you go into the hospital, you definitely will be when you come out. If it's an injury you don't heal.
And that's what keeps the drug pusher industry going here.

This is what I eat as a female single senior citizen living below the poverty line in subsidized housing in Toronto Ontario Canada: Brunch: eggs and an avocado; Dinner: lettuce and seafood. I drink tap water. I buy: sardines, canned tuna, oysters and mussels at Dollarama. I buy the most expensive and best quality eggs available at the health food store, Carrot Common. I buy bags of avocados and lettuce in Chinatown. I'm almost 75 years old. I walk everywhere. I carry my own shopping in my own shopping bag. I don't pull any shopping buggy behind myself. All they sent besides the tea was carbs carbs and carbs. So I did a water fast for the 3 days I was there. The care was wonderful as they brought the LPNs back, which relieved the RNs to do all the orders and paperwork and deal with the complicated cases. I reclaimed my health after fighting, pancreatic cancer, stomach cancer, and I did survive. I realize that the food that I had been eating as a young woman was literally slowly killing me. So I began with a local nutritionist and they came and helped me have small grow beds where I grew my own berries and my own vegetables and herbs, too. Coupling all those healthy food groups with really good healthy, lean carnivore meat that was locally grown along with locally hatched eggs. I am now alive and cancer free going on 14 years. I attribute all that to my diet. I am now firm, believer and live by this mantra. “ if you cannot pronounce what you are eating why are you eating it”
I am now on the process of writing a book how I survive these cancers, and one day I would like to share it with you as well thank both of you doctors that I finally discovered you while I’m healing from a broken foot and I’ve been eating nothing but carnivore with some vegetables and I’m hoping I can lose some weight because I’m non-active so I’m working on my cookbook. Thanks guys for all your help.

From the Arctic. Canned salmon is mostly pink salmon. It is not pretty or fancy enough for fillets so it’s not farmed and less sought after by fish mongers but it is the staple salmon the people in the region live off of. We call it dog salmon because it’s so plentiful we feed it to our sled teams as well. Great stuff. We love to smoke it.

Canned mackerel is also a good choice, especially if you eat the bones in it. I am on disability, which is not much, but I buy ground chuck, ground pork, eggs, some natural cheese, bulgarian yogurt (only milk and bacteria), pork butt, pork chops or loin (if on sale), chuck or shoulder roast, butter, ghee (lasts forever), and a can of tallow (also lasts forever). You can make your own clarified butter/ghee with a pound of butter by just melting/boiling it gently until the butter solids fall to the bottom and strain it. I think Chef Jean Pierre has a video on how to make it. Then I put it in a jar in the fridge, but it will last a long time on the counter too. It’s the milk solids that will eventually go rancid, so removing them is why it lasts so long.

I just spent 10 days in a behavioral health hospital. I have type T2d controlled by diet A1 C 5.4. I would get 60 to 80 grams of carbs per meal in addition to up 6 packets of cookies
, chips, cereal bars, ice cream, pudding or crackers ; and 32 ounces of juice.
I refused most meals. I asked for bacon and eggs would receive rice crispies, almond milk, toast, apple and applesauce. At dinner would ask for a double portion of meat and would receive pasta, roll, fake butter, light salad dressing and a salad. Or I would order 2 cheeseburger patties with onions, pickles and tomatoes just to receive the diabetic meal of nonfat milk, mashed potatoes, corn with meatloaf .
I kept ordering ketogenic meals and they consistently provided me with high carb meals.
Nurses would comment on how good my blood sugar was and their blood sugar level was much higher.
The hospitalist doctor wanted to discharge me early because of my diet. They sent a dietitian to educate me about what I should be eating so could inject me with insulin.

My MD told me to keep my carbs under 50g a day. I now consider myself ketovore, leaning towards carnivore. I use a few low carb vegetables but am focused on beef. No snacking, eat in the 8 hr window, fast 16 hrs. Down 12 lbs in 31 days. The biggest change in this way of eating for ME is that cooking was a relaxing creative outlet for me, now it is purely functional. I still cook a bit for my husband but very basic and nothing fancy. He is ok with that. He is not overweight. He supports my effort. I need to lose 20 more pounds. But now I want to just do this for life. My fatty liver dx is my motivation. My age is 73 and have a few good years left. I appreciate your videos so much.

I too was in a terrible narcissistic relationship for over 20 years and am still trying to clear the fog. I’ve mistreated my health badly and am now 51, homeless and underemployed. My hubby, T2D, recentiy spent over 5 weeks in the hospital that was supposed to be 5 days. He had never been on insulin but they had him on it for the full time. Extention of stay started with excessive opioids shutting down his bowels. They put him on IV nutrition. For the 5 days of IV nutrition, where they had total control, his glucose was bouncing between 200 & 300, never below 200. At my husband's expense I got my eyes opened at how unhealthy hospitals are.

I'm a 50 year old woman who's in remission from chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was on a weekly biologic injectible medication "Enbrel," with other prescriptions like Celebrex, Methotrexate, Tramadol & Prednisone at times that made my immune system sick and my body obese & weak starting at the age of 27. I started eating a ketogenic lifestyle in September 2019, and now I'm mainly carnivore "Ketovore." This way of eating is the only thing that has helped my weight loss of 60lbs, severe pain, inflammation & metobolic health. Also, I started implementing lifting heavy weights, strength training & balance exercises 4 times a week last April. It has been a new life for me! My entire team were physically fit warriors before we deployed. Most of us gained weight and felt worse coming home. I think 2 reasons for it. #1 lots of high stress followed by medium stress and repeat. #2 food. We got 1-2 small servings of protein each meal and unlimited carbs. Hungry? Have some more carbs. In 2005 I felt young and healthy. In 2007 I felt like and tired old man. Diet matters

I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 34 weeks - I was on a clean Carnivore diet before I got pregnant and had lost lots of weight (which I am sure helped me get pregnant in the first place). Early in my pregnancy I just couldn't eat or smell any meat or eggs. I was so disgusted and completely fell off the wagon for a while. Eventually I started eating meat and eggs again but also ate bread and other processed foods, gave in to sugar cravings, had unhealthy snacks and literally just ate anything my brain wanted 😐
In a meeting they had me attempt, where they talked about how to eat with gestational diabetes, they said to NOT cut carbs and have some with every meal. I did that on day 1 and spiked my blood sugar through the roof with just 2 tiny potatoes (they recommend 200-300g cooked potatoes for a meal here in the UK).
Being diagnosed with gestational diabetes reminded me that this is not what I should be doing - for me and for my baby - and immediately went back to Keto/Very low Carb and my blood sugar levels have been fine since. Will definitely continue after birth and am happy to be back on track!
Going to head over to Neisha's channel as well for some insight on breastfeeding! 😊

Today is my day 1 on Carnivore (2/4). I’m 62, 203 lbs, and I suffered a compression fracture at L1 in December of 22. I had bariatric surgery in 2001 and had a great 15 years until my surgical tool was overcome by poor dietary choices. I’m not whining, I’m holding myself accountable. At this point, I’m starting over because after the back injury, I was unable to do many of the things I was able to do before and the weight began to get out of control. I didn’t feel safe to garden last spring because I was still recuperating. Now, I feel the need to get busy before I go any further downhill. My success plan includes bingeing every carnivore technique I can get my hands on. Wish me luck!

I live in the great plains farming country (Nebraska) not far from a 100,000 population city. A butcher shop there is grinding imported Mexican beef and I buy 85% burger for $2.49 every day of the week. they also have pork shoulder (butts) for $1.59, and either beef chuck rolls or clods for $5 per lb. Those 3 things plus eggs, butter and spices make up just about 100% of what I eat, and $5 max per day is easy

Those prices are amazing. Enjoy. Shopping today at Frescho ( maybe a lower priced Safeway). An elderly senior was chatting to me (a younger showing me showing me senior) saying he never thought he would be buying baloney as he showed me two big packages of baloney in his shopping cart, along with a big carton of chicken legs, tiny bit of fruit. He says he does not buy junk foods any more. He also spoke about the price of chicken, to be going up quite a bit soon. this is up in southern Canada close to the US border.
I felt for him. I am one that doesn’t watch the news so I really don’t know about the prices except for what I see in the store. seniors & regular people are going to the store to look for the markdowns; 30% off the meat and picking that up if they can. Tonight, I made had pork sausages, mixed with spaghetti squash, onions, garlic, with chopped up cabbage, guess we are on a keto diet. My breakfast today;just eggs and bacon for breakfast with coffee earlier.

Nice on the ground beef! I can't find that for under $4 a pound any more. Pork is pretty decent though. I got pork butt for $1.69lb, pork belly for $3.49lb, so cheaper than bacon, bone on skin on chicken thighs for $1.29lb and pork loin for $1.89lb. This tend to be our staples. Along with ground beef.

Dr C. Is my doctor thank God. I’m on team Dr. C. I’m a type 1 that became double diabetes. What a ride this has been. 2x in less than 1 year I’ve jumped on and off low carb. I lost 30lbs the first time (fell off the wagon because I was weak mentally), gained back 20lbs, and am now down 20lbs again after 1 month of low carb sitting at approx 270lbs. I’m the exact use case for all of this and just had an appointment with Dr. C. today. I’m an AF vet as well and have been unemployed for about 5 years now suffering from the roller coaster my health has been. I want to be a success for myself, Dr. C., and anyone else that faces this reality and needs to make this change. Thank you for the support of this great doctor and you’ve gotten a new follower too. We love our chooks and they provide fresh eggs for us. We love beef mince made beef patties and sometimes we add cheese on top. Thinnly sloce pork belly is my preferred bacon as its not preserved and crispes up nicely and goes well with eggs. Beef rib eye is the best tender cut and pricey if buying everything else but on its own its great. But here in Australia we love our lamb especially lamb chops and slow cooked lamb roast. Wild caaught salmon is a lovely fatty fish for Friday's have 2 pieces and no need to have anything else. You save money by not having to buy desserrt, veggies, fruit nor any processed packet stuff.

Here's my contribution that's easy and good to have on stand by (and I will try your fritatta. Love it!)
Egg/Chili Puff: (eat for dinner as chili relleno, or breakfast as fritatta-style).
    10 eggs
    1/2 tsp. Salt
    1/2 cup butter, softened
¼ cup almond flour (skip this if you're extra carb sensitive. It will still turn out.)
1 pint (two cups) full fat cottage cheese
    1 lb. Jack Cheese, grated
1 7oz can diced Ortega green chilis
Beat eggs until light and fluffy. Add rest of the ingredients, stirring in chilis last. Pour into well-buttered 9x12 baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes

By Dec last year I found myself a carnivore.

I started 8 months ago and was very metabolically unwell. 154kg-340lb (53 yo 6ft male).
I committed to make no change within 3 months “as a trial” and did STRICT Lion diet, which is just meat only carnivore (mainly ruminate meats).
      HbA1c went from 8.7 to 5.4
The first 3 weeks I had constant diarrhoea. It was bloody hard, but I was determined not to let it beat me…also, the other alternative/option of continuing the way I was just not an option.
      After 6 weeks, no meds!
No severe depression with suicidal thoughts, no type 2 diabetes, no severe sleep apnea, no hypertension, etc etc.
Now I’m happy, slimmer and weigh 101kg (223lb).
I’m beginning to exercise again (in fact swam 10 laps for the first time this morning in about 30 years).
It’s so empowering to not be “lead by the nose”, addicted by carbs and sugar etc and HAVE to eat 3-4 times a day.
I typically eat 1-2 times a day but mid sized meals, still only water. Never hungry. It truely is a different life.
If you have too much diarrhoea, just ease up on the fat content, but keep water and sugar free electrolytes up (LMNT make a version of this).
Hope it all works out for him.❤

Last month I was able to buy 19 T-bone steaks, 8 ribeyes, a huge pack of pork chops, along with a couple packs of chicken wings for $173! My wife and I had passed on buying t-bones at Walmart because they were like $36 for a two pack. I bought the same two packs ( with bigger steaks) for $11 a piece at the sale. It's a matter of wrong priorities... I have been carnivore for two years and I'm spending in groceries 75% of I used to spend before when prices were around 60% less than now. Here in Poland, we dont have grass/grain fes on the labeling, but most of our cows are fed hay and grass with addition of grains. Considering, that its way more expansive than pork and poultry, I dont eat it that much. I eat more duks, pork, chiken, fish (sardins, makrel and trout) and organ meat - liver once a week, hearts, stomach and so on.

If you have access to a food saver vacuum sealer you can save 30% buying in bulk on sale, portion pack and freeze. Thank you. When I started low carb I was buying the cheapest of everything because I had to throw out/give away a lot of my foods; I had stocked up because of the C. I got rid of the high carb things and used up the not so bad things but then replaced them with better options. Now that I've been low carb for over 2 years I'm finding that I'm buying better quality foods. The rubbish I used to eat wasn't satiating and also made me want more so I think in the scheme of things it wasn't cheap.

That is exactly what I am going through right now. I could cry when I see how much money I spent as a poor person to stock up on grains and flour for C. I just found out I have a gluten intolerance. I feed the grains to the birds. They are happy about it.

@@wollfaden1979 It's good that you worked out that it is gluten even though it's not good that you have that intolerance. It's a real nuisance having a reaction to something and not knowing what it is. Been there, done that with an MSG intolerance (several episodes of anaphylaxis) and having to do an elimination diet and weekly food challenges. I had considered adding up how much everything that I got rid of totalled but decided not to; it wasn't going to change anything. I changed to low carb for my health (diagnosed with diabetes Oct 2021) so I just thought of it as an investment in my health. Some of the stuff I threw out but about 2/3 of it I took to work and put it on the table for people to take. I work in a not for profit and the people are on low incomes so I thought of it as making a donation.

That’s useful information. For others facing this dilemma, you can trade with neighbors or even give away that food instead of throwing it away. I gave my food away. It actually was a bit difficult to give away unopened high-carb food to friends after I thought it wasn’t good to eat, but I rationalized my actions by telling myself they would just buy that same food themselves.

I don’t know. I hate to waste food when people are hungry but donating the trash food you won’t eat yourself seems off to me. Isn’t that digging them a bigger hole? I don’t know.

As a veteran, this man earned my trust in very little time. Military nutrition is really bad but cost effective while appealing to a vast majority of dietary habits. It's not complete junk food but it's still not super healthy with a lot of bad decisions next to each other. I knew multiple people that went into the military as healthy adults, and after a few years proceeds to be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

Sardines with a sauce of sourcream mixed with a raw egg yolk and a side of butter are heavenly. Even if you don't like sardines or fish, you'll love them this way.

Walmart has the cheapest food I've seen. Turkey burger, whole roasting chickens and turkeys, eggs and cheese, heavy cream, frozen shrimp, butter, chicken, hamburger, all beef hot dogs, etc. BE Careful cuz lots of preprocessed meats have added sugar. Buy your own ground pork and make sausage patties with your added spices...really good!

EGGS: I used to buy the cage eggs and now they are phasing them out and bringing in barn laid; obviously still not the best, but I noticed a difference. The shells are stronger and the yolks more yellow. I've recently started going to the local egg farm and they are even better than the store bought barn laid ones. I often have to crack the egg in a couple of places to pierce the membrane and I had a yolk the other day that was almost orange.

@@romeliaarmstrong6143 I don’t think yolk color matters. As you stated it can be altered. In keto they prefer non corn and grain fed chicken eggs. Supposedly Pasture raised is the way to go - eating grass and bugs. But how do we truly know.

I am not on Keto since I am a type 1 diabetic, but I do eat low carb and have my entire life. One money saver is to buy a large roast, cook it, cut into single serve portions and freeze. Roast is cheap per pound and you can get a ton of meals out of it.

Hi Dr Berry, i live in the UK and have recently come across your videos, I really like watching them because you're straight to the point without any bull you tell it as it is. Im just starting on keto to get rid of all the nasty carbs. Your carnivore diet is very interesting too.
Now i can see why the Evil Bill Gates wants everyone to stop eating meat!
Im going to keep watching your videos as im learning so much.
    Thanks Mim

Thank you for this interview, as cost is a concern for my family. Out of all the keto doctors I follow, you have been one of the few that takes this into account..
Would love to see another Dr. B & Dr. C team-up!
