You could get a heart attack on any diet, almost anything could damage your arteries.

I am a believer that different people can or can not eat everything. One needs to keep a diary of foods that give you issues. Then base your diet on quality foods. Mostly true organic or from your own garden. Local ranched meats on grassing less stressed animals. I know this cost more but you don’t need to eat as much to feel the benefits of quality food. Then if you are missing certain minerals or elements in your diet you can take supplements. I also believe in fermented foods. Your gut may need these foods especially if you can not afford or find quality foods. Plus water and limit your sugar intake. We don’t need to eat 3 meals etc a day. Your body will tell you when you are hungry so listen to it don’t get hooked on anyone’s hype.

I started a strict carnivore diet on August 7th 2023 and I lost 71 pounds in just over 128 days, eating one meal a day of beef and butter. I only drank water, nothing else! No caffine, no pop, no coffee, no tea, no energy drinks, no alcohol, nothing! I'm no longer pre-diabetic, no longer have high blood pressure, no longer morbidly obese, no longer have carpal tunnel syndrome, no more sleep apnea, no longer have acid reflux and I feel like I'm in my 20's again! After about 2 weeks, my carb/sugar cravings disappeared! Zero cheating! The most eye opening change was that I actually crave meat and nothing else! Carnivore 4 life baby!❤

Dr. Gundry has lost a lot of weight. He does make some very interesting points. I remember thinking he was nuts when I received a video saying your veggies are killing you! Of course all the ones he was talking about are my favorite. Now I really do wonder if he is correct because I was eating a lot of raw fruits and veggies with tuna, clams, burger and steak and I had kidney issues! Oxalate dumping. I was peeing glass basically!
Now 2 years later I have a ton of diagnosis from thyroid, aortic aneurysm, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, ovarian cyst, auto immune degenerative joint disease, gallbladder and liver issues. I look 10 months pregnant, gained 80 lbs, so weak it is not funny.
I was forced to do carnivore with this gall bladder issue. I am shocking my doctor and I feel good as I can with my liver not functioning 100 %.
I have to many foods I was ok with my whole life, I am not ok with now.
The one thing I always say is why are the plant /starch based doctors so pale, white hair and glasses? Just asking. The carnivore doctors are getting buff, better looking, dark hair and very few with glasses. The teeth! The white teeth I am seeing the carnivore crew have! 😍😍😍

Dr. Gundry rails against the toxicity of plants and other foods (legumes, nightshades), but then recommends eating a mostly plant-based diet, which I always found odd. He does this by largely focusing on one specific plant toxin, lectins, while ignoring the many other toxins in plants. So he'll recommend eating lots of low-lectin plants like spinach, while ignoring that they have other forms of inflammation-causing toxicity (like high oxalate content in the case of spinach).

That's probably due to the high oxalate content in her diet. Gundry recommends daily spinach smoothies, and spinach is one of the highest oxalate-containing foods there is. Oxalates are basically microscopic needles that get embedded in your tissues, causing inflammation and joint pain (kidney stones as well). At least recommend she cut out so much spinach while still following Gundry's recommended low-lectin diet.

I was a HUGE fan of Dr. Gundry, he was the guy that really motivated me to do extensive research on different diets and health research, and I will admit that when I finished his book The Plant Paradox, it was essential and really opened my eyes to what I had been naive about for so long with our typical diet. But over time after my extensive research over a few years, I also realized he was wrong on about 25% of his claims. For example, the red meat linked to cancer has been debunked showing that this was established between ONLY 2 studies done decades ago. One study was based on a QUESTIONAIRE ONLY with people who had cancer, the second study was based on grouping red meat with HIGHLY processed meats and people who had cancer, so the study didn't include a clean red meat diet by itself, it included highly processed meats that are full of chemicals and preservatives! So I find it HIGHLY suspicious that there has NEVER been a study that proves that a clean red meat diet has been associate with anyone with cancer.....I suspect that there has been plenty of time and motivation by the pro plant agenda to prove this but after all of this time does not exist. In addition when I see the medical establishment push the propaganda of meat is bad then I now understand it's probably the opposite and those who are pushing this talking point most likely know this, they need a sick society for maximum profit!
Dr. Gundry also claims that in the blue zones that people in these areas do NOT consume much meat, that is ABSOLUTELY false and the people in these blue zones admit that meat is part of their daily diet, in addition they also get lots of exercise, get lots of sun and have less stress all of this makes for a great formula for longevity but make no mistake, they do eat meat daily along with some home grown vegetables from their personal gardens. Also don't forget that the meat they consume daily are their own animals that they take care of with no hormones, no antibiotics...all natural on an all natural diet so the meat is clean. I really don't know how Gundry missed this VERY important data of the blue zone people but he did so you can't take anyones word on everything, do your own research! I feel that in the next 10-20 years, we are going to find out that a proper and clean carnivore diet meaning grass fed only red meat, pasture raised eggs, wild caught fish and pasture raised poultry will prove that it is the optimum diet and we really don't need vegetables to reach optimal health, do them if you want, but it will prove they are not necessary for longevity but only time will tell since much of this is kind of new but the blood tests alone with people on a carnivore diet support healthy levels while people on vegan diets ultimately suffer healthwise tells me that vegetables don't support optimal health, animal products do!

My best guess is to up that ratio by a good bit and eat a variety of organs from pastured animals.
Due to the iron overload agenda, I minimize muscle meats. Not because I think they are bad, but 80 years of rusty iron filing ingestion loaded into my epigenetics have consequences that could reasonably mean quality iron ingestion might reasonably limit my body’s ability to detox the toxic iron.
As an aside, my height increased almost 3/4” in my 50’s after I started eating organ meats. I didn’t believe the first measurement - so much so I didn’t even bother verifying it until I mentioned it to a friend and he had me remeasure.
I also see glimpses of flipping from a 30+ year catabolic state to an anabolic state as well. That would be big as well.
I’m currently low-calorie keto in order to detox and recycle toxic cells, so I’m not strength training much now.
      Am I doing this perfectly?

Gundry blows all kind of details totally out of proportion. Besides that, the Blue Zone populations eat a lot of meat. Pork, fish, goat, sheep, chicken and beef. This is very often conveniently ignored or left out of the discussion by our plant based friends. Also, not eating the whole egg will greatly reduce its nutritional value.

Most of the nutrition in eggs is in the yolk. The fat in egg whites actually inhibits the absorption of vitamin B7, so if you're someone who eats eggs frequently, I'd advice only using the egg yolk if possible. Hair loss is one indication that you may have become deficient in B7, so instead of taking my word for it, that's something you may want to pay attention to if you started shedding more hair than normal after deciding to eat whole eggs more often.

@@Inquisetor90 There are several blue zones in the world, both in the west and in Asia. I've heard conflicting things regarding their diets, but off the top of my head, there's a blue zone in Europe where people eat a ton of mostly processed meats. I think in the country of Andorra, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the right country.
Okinawans in Japan have historically eaten a lot of meat, but their diets have changed drastically in recent decades, and it's that latter part that the mainstream media seem to focus on when they report on the health and lifespans of Japanese people. I don't have a conclusive answer to your question, but it seems to me that at least some of the people who write about the diets of these areas simply shift the evidence to align with their own biases.

Well, eating a variety of foods in moderation might help. I have had quite a few clients who lived well into their late 90's and well over 100 but they weren't on any specific diets, but ate a variety of foods in moderation. Even in the health facilities where I worked.. My clients ranged in age from 113, 112, 110, 107, 105, 102, 103, late 90's and 80's. They did have better building blocks I like to call it because they were growing up during a time when it was probably less herbicides, pesticides and fungicides, over time I'm thinking was increasing and Processed and less nutritious. I lived on a farm for a short time when I was a teenager. We had apple trees and a few cows and chickens. We ate fresh produce, fresh eggs, butter, milk and meat. That was in 1970/1971. Well I was very healthy but when I left my heath wasn't as good as it was during my stay there. So now I eat a variety of foods in moderation and avoid fast food and very processed food. My client who lived to 112 did have his own garden. My uncle is 93 and has his own garden and still drives. He eats a variety of foods in moderation. He used to go fishing, but not any more. He's taking care of his son, my cousin, as a caregiver who had brain tumor surgery. Thanks for the common sense video. An educated consumer is the best customer.

Yesterday I cut out bread and most carbs.
Had sardines in oil for lunch with cucumber and radish and for dinner had sausages cooked with onions, cabbage, and a little sweet potato. Snacks were two lamb chops, fat on, and a slice of bacon in the evening after dinner.

Dr. Gundry (and I’m a customer of some of his products) is associated with Loma Linda University-a7th Day Adventist-founded organization-and they have been advocating vegetarianism for 100 years, on the basis that animal meats make you too sexy! Since at 73, this sounds like a great recommendation, I’m happy to try this way of eating! Sorry, Dr. Gundry, I’m so thankful for your revelation of the harmful lectins and oxalates, but I am not persuaded by you to reduce meat in my diet. I now know that It has given me-in 3 weeks-such a feeling of well-being that there’s no turning back. Plus only carnivore restrains me from my love for sweet baked goods!
BTW, I wouldn’t eat a lot of chicken regularly, because 25+ years ago, the magazine The New Yorker wrote one of their LENGTHY articles called “The Dirty Chicken” or “Dirty Chickens”. It revealed the unhygienic processes of washing and processing chickens. Beef was mentioned as a much cleaner, less germ-laden product by comparison. Now we have one Cornish hen, boiled, shared between my husband and myself (we’re little people-that’s ample for us), perhaps every 2 or 3 weeks.
2 eggs per day being enough protein for one person per day? Ridiculous! What about the amino acids we need? I’m reeling! Maybe a sedentary old lady could make do with that, but I doubt it.
He’s right about eating wild-caught fish. Very hard to find in restaurants.
He’s wrong about the blue zone people not eating much meat. In at least two places, including Sardinia, they DO eat a lot of meat and dairy. I learned this from one of the other carnivore drs, who had been there.
Sorry, Dr. Gundry-you’ve lost a lot of your credibility with me, when it comes to meat!

I was definitely on the Plant Paradox diet and was losing weight. His bias is most definitely from the fact that he worked at Loma Linda Hospital. Which is a hospital that was started by the Seventh Day Adventist Church in California. It's not known if he is Seventh Day Adventist though, but part of their beliefs is eating a vegetarian diet. So, to me if he worked at a hospital that supported a plant based lifestyle, then he's going to have that bias. Raw Kale is bad for me too. I get a terrible stomach ache from it. I've stopped eating it too. I do think he has some good ideas, and advice ,and I glean from many in the keto world. I have a hard time eating a lot of veggies ( I can only do cauliflower, broccoli, carrot and cabbage and that's it). I swayed more towards the regular keto because I missed eating meat. I also own my own chickens and am not buying into if you feed them a lectin diet they will be better , chances are those chickens aren't producing a lot of meat and are most likely VERY expensive chickens to buy. I'd like to see the proof of how much of that is actually in the meat of the animal Also when on it , you do feel like you're not sure what you're really supposed to eat. Plants are trying to kill you but eat these ones that are trying to kill you less. Meat will give you cancer, but if you must, eat grass fed , grass finished only (forget if you live in an area where that doesn't exist) Chicken is bad unless you get it from someone who feeds them a lectin free diet ( which would be bad for the chicken because that's not a healthy diet for them) . I also felt that the Plant Paradox lifestyle is a very expensive one and it caters to those that have the money to do it, and constantly relied on making ALL of your food because stores don't carry most of what you are supposed to eat. I mean, it's not all bad, It's helped me keep away from foods that do not agree with me, and made me look for cleaner ingredients in my food that I buy.

I've been on a low-lectin diet for most of the past year because I screwed my stomach up taking too much ibprofen instead of taking care of my spinal issues, so Dr. Gundry's information actually did help me. I tried quite a few diets trying to figure out what to eat vs not eat.
I've been doing yoga 4-5 days a week now for 10 months or so now and that's solved most of my pain/spinal issues, along with losing 80 lbs by doing low carb/high fat/bulletproof fasting(Like intermittent fasting, but you have coffee w/ butter and MCT oil for breakfast.) The basic human diet was carnivore, not omnivore. Meat is how we thrived. To reintroduce vegetables is going backwards. Try introducing more protein from beef (the opposite of what Gundry says) so that you’re eating at least 100 grams a day. Easy to do if you’re buying the Wagyu ground beef from Costco & if you’re bored with burgers try the ribeye at Costco, it’s fantastic! It’s 42 grams (3 tablespoons) of butter, in decafe, to help you get all the fat in and it is better than MCT oil, which is plant based and from coconut oil. And having at least 2 meals a day is essential to be able to eat all the protein you need. And caffeine is a stimulant, so if you’re still drinking it, how do you know what your true energy level is? Also weight training is much more easily done when you’re getting 100 grams of protein or more daily, contrary to Gundry’s guidelines. Gundry has said that he takes between 50 and 100 supplements daily.
Probably to make up for the lack of red meat protein and to try and undo all the damage from the vegetables that he promotes.

I was diagnosed with migraines nearly 45 years ago. The physician never asked about my diet but didn't hesitate to prescribe Demerol. This medication did nothing to cure those migraines, it just put me to sleep. Didn't get any relief until I started practicing the low carb woe about 8 years ago.

Maybe your migraines were from listening to Gundry...

Increase your sodium (via sea salt) intake. This balances a potassium leakage (genetic?) defect in your brain cells that triggers the migraines. See Dr. Eric Berg's YT video on Migraines for more INFO about this. And oh, increase the salt intake daily BEFORE the occurrence of migraines. Do NOT wait for a migraine to begin. Me and my three children no longer suffer frequent migraines anymore. My children's migraines were VERY intense and lasted for several days. You will have to figure out how much more salt you need daily by trial and error, unfortunately. My understanding is that this simple remedy does work for most people.

If plants wrecked a gut and caused autoimmunity with lechtins, then heal with carnivore and then go back to the stuff that wrecked it long term. WTF?

I am a 79-year-old male; when I was 54, I cured my ulcerative colitis by going on an Atkins carnivorish diet. It doesn't happen instantly, but give it 90 to 180 days, and it will be gone or significantly improved. My case was so severe that it took about 6 to 8 months before it was gone. My doctor was angry with me and dropped me as a patient because I refused to take his medication 22 years ago, and I have not had a problem. The only thing I have changed is increased good, healthy fats and Protein. About 70% fat and 30% protein. Also, my gout, which I have suffered from since I was in my mid-30s, is not better; it's gone. That didn't happen until I changed the ratio of fat to Protein. Much of what I thought was gout was plantar fasciitis, and once the veteran's hospital got me the proper inserts for my shoes, 90% of what I thought was gout disappeared; the other 10%, I believe, was caused by things like high fructose corn syrup. It doesn't take much! Dr. Berry, one of your best talks, explains what I have done wrong over the years. I have noticed that some of the best advice comes from doctors who are not tied to institutions or clinics and must follow a standard of care regimen. Once they're out on their own and feel much more free about what they say, the smart ones like Dr. Berry give the best advice. The proof in the pudding is if what they say works, especially over time. That's about as good of proof as you can ever get!

ONE THING i have against Carnivore. I’ve been Carnivore only a month after doing Keto a lot longer. The knock I have with Carny, is the LIMITED food group choices. Keto is a BUFFET of variety by comparison. Now the human tongue has over 10,000 taste buds (a cat has 500, a dog has 1200). Humans by DESIGN were seemingly meant to experience and enjoy a variety of tastes along a smorgasbord of different NATURAL foods. Carnivore goes against this… which IS a real issue for many who simply go back to Keto because they receive the same benefits by doin a high fat/high protein/ very low carb diet BUT…. Keto dieters get a much broader spectrum of foods choices. Going to stick with Carnivore for a while to see where it leads because I want to make up my own mind in respect to my own body and how it handles it as I am not a big fan of anecdotal evidence of other dieters.
