Hi Carol and Ken, Am really enjoying your Scotland trip. You always bring all of us somewhere really interesting and todays Video was particularly enjoyable with the tours of Rosslyn Chapel and Sir Walter Scotts beautiful house and gardens. Looking forward to the rest of this series and your future travels.
What fun, you have detoured away to the East, what a surprise. You are near to where I had a cottage just outside of Duns for a year or so in 1979. Had a kilt tailor-made in Kelso. Relatives have a very large farm on the hills above Peebles, too. Maybe you are heading to Floors Castle (I believe it is pronounced 'fleurs', fr), but there are literally dozens of historic buildings, abbeys and country houses all through the borders. When I worked at Lindisfarne Castle (Restored by: Edward Lutyens & Gertrude Jekyll c1906), I used to give a friend a lift from Coldstream enroute, there and back. There is an amazing gem to see the handpainted panels in the Lady Waterford Hall, of Ford Castle near Etal. Great driving Carol! Take care & stay safe. Kia Ora from New Zealand. 💜💜
Lovely video. Thanks especially for the chapel visit and “Come Thou Fount.” I need that today in a time of great anxiety here in the U.S. Your videos are so informative and fun. Peace to you and health.

If you want to do thermal cooking, you don't need to buy a special "pot ". Just use your normal pot, maje sure it is full (no big air pocket on top) and wrap it in 1-2 blankets. You can use a towel as first layer as well. Any dish with loads of water will work well. Great for tough meats, stews, beans ....I do that every day for my rice or potatoes. Works well over night as well. Ok for fireless cooking or wonder bag etc on YT. There is a free download The tireless Cookbook from 1913 or 17.
Hi guys , just found your channel and i am really enjoying it ! How long have you been married? Hope you don't mind me asking. Thank you. 💕🕊💕
Wow ! I would never have guessed. The kindness and respect you show each other is incredible considering you have been together so long. Very good looking couple as well 💕
I remember a fantastic meal in Peebles ( perhaps 15 yrs ago) at "The Courthouse", now sadly closed. It was a Sunday evening and when we left we were greeted by a scene of devastation, drunk people everywhere, slumped over benches, completely mashed! I don't know if that's a normal Sunday occurence in Peebles but we found it bizarre. It wasn't late so very strange. Regarding the Fiat bling display, we now use google maps on it via Android Auto ( CarPlay for Apple fans) for the navigation. We found the Fiat nav to be terrible at route choices.
Great vlog! I do enjoy a good Walled Garden and an Orangery! You'e right about some stately homes being starved of light. The light really bought out that Chinese wallpaper, which was likely silk. Abbotsford is now on my list 🙂
Lovely to come along with you two and I’m glad Ken is doing well. Very close to the high school where our daughter is a CDT teacher! (Craft, design and technology). I used to be in Peebles quite frequently as it has a lovely narrow shoe shop specialist. Carol. I think we could be sisters although I already have two. You enjoy geo-caching, my favourite pastime, you photo and log your park ups, I do, and you chose my favourite sandwich filler, smoked salmon and cheese. I also enjoy retail therapy in the charity shops where I generally pick up a new book for £1. I would be your older sister at 70 😂
Hi both, you were seeing Chapel Roslyn at it's best pretty much as it not that long since they stripped the protective layer of the stonework and removed all the external scaffolding. I know you can't film inside there but did you see the two Pillars and hear the story that goes with them. I'm referring to the Master's and the Apprentice's Pillars up near the pulpit. I've been there several times over the years and you always find something you missed before so it's a fascinating place and apart from everyday tourists it attracts Freemasons from around the globe as the St Claire family are closely associated with 'The Craft ' in Scotland and with the Knights Templar. There are stone carvings of plants that were supposedly not known here in Great Britain until after the building was completed, like the Tobacco plant and Corn cobs. Both of which came to Europe only after Columbus, Magellan and Cabot but the Templars whom the St Claire family had sheltered after Philip of France discredited them and endeavoured to destroy had actually been there some fifty years prior had a hand in the building of the place and St Claire was amongst their number. The Americans in particular make it almost a pilgrimage as American Freemasonry is closely allied to the Scottish rite and not the English although both were set up rather same time period. If you're ever around that way again and fancy Fish and Chips, go back to Peebles. According to my Scots friends the Fish restaurant there is the best in the whole Lothian area. I must admit, when I was taken there it was exceptionally good and the serve bowls of Beetroot on the tables as well. It's a very common accompaniment to a lot of meals apparently, I suppose in the same way that down south we'll put pickled Onions or Gherkins out as part of 'a good spread'. Ken should add those to his mealtimes as they help regulate the Blood Glucose levels, probably because of the Vinegar having a similar belaying effect as precooked the Starchy foods. I hope your still enjoying your new Van anyway. I did notice you had a little waver trying not to say 'little Red Camper ' in the introduction. 🤔🙂
Great video like usual note on the driver/truck did he park his rear doors close too you thats what they do to try stop people getting in to rob then he was the other side taking care of his load...... could of noticed your outside cctv 😂😂😂😂

I would be your older sister at 70 😂
@@Jaxnbrian that sounds about right. I even have two sisters too 😊👍

Great Vvlog guys, looking good.....
We sat and listened to a talk inside Rosslyn Chapel that explained about the carvings and the two pillars. It was very interesting 🙂👍
Thanks goodness you put in “I am signalling right” 😳😳 I held my breath 🤦♀️
