I know it seems always wonderful to find a secluded car parking place but, a personal warning….such places are a mega for car break-ins. Happened to me twice in New Forest. Was only on a short half hour walk, each time, like yourselves. On both occasions car broken into and valuables taken. Please be careful. Sometimes the security of other van occupancy around, can be a better protection. Loved the video

Suggestion: Modify your hot water feed line to recirculate the cold until the water reaches a heat valve temperature setting to turn off that circulation. I've seen that feature mentioned in other van builds. I bet Consort could introduce that modification for you. That would save your cold water and cooking gas, plus it would free up a hub on your stove for other purposes. Rather like an "Instant Hot" feature. Tah-Dah!
Trangia have been around for a long time. I had one in 1983 when I was hiking the south coast walking trek in Tasmania. Many dinosaurs were walking around back then.
I used to work for CAT UK as a design engineer, in Peterlee, Co Durham where they make the Articulated Dump Trucks. This is the only place they make the AT,s for Caterpillar. The ones you showed are made by Bell, but look identical to the CAT ones. These were originally made in Peterlee by D Brown who then became Artix then taken over by Caterpillar. They are great to drive but are very bouncy
Found your channel a couple of months ago and I absolutely love your videos, the are so cozy, interresting and relaxing. No wonder you have so many subscribers! Greetings from Finland 👍
You might find that the Trangia25 kettle is less irritating than the split handle one too…. It does 2 mugs of tea/coffee quite comfortably and boils quickly on the van’s gas ring.
I loved seeing that final shot of you both relaxing in your rear lounge. That is exactly the reason I thought that layout would be right up your street, along with the other useful touches that Consort has added. I live on the edge of the New Forest and we do get a lot of young people doing their DOE here. You are seeing areas of burnt heathland because the forestry workers carry out controlled burning as part of the management of the land. Thank you for the video 😁
Love the new forest area..the trees are relaxing for the mind I REmber eating scone at a posh bf house once,he said you must break a piece off put jam on then cream…I just threw the lot on lol..thanks carol n Ken for another great video.
Totally agree with the Trangia cook set. We have been using them for years. But also have the gas conversion. Confession time George collector old stoves. He is a stoveacholic. One of them is 100years old. Tip. Tin of stewing stake and tinned potatoes one pot meal. Get rid of potatoes liquid as it's too salty etc. 😂
Your walk about in the New Forrest was certainly quite muddy!!!! the giant trees were ever so interesting!!! the hardware store you went into was great, loved the various sized tea pots!!! I have had an oven thermometer just like the one you've just got for a very long time... what fun it would be to drive one of those huge trucks.....LOL
I think that cooking on the beach was so awesome. Your dinner looked great. I really liked the walk in the woods. Hope that you both have a wonderful evening. Take care.
The gorse is burned in controlled fires to allow the grassy areas to spread and provide food for the grazing animals. Not many animals like to eat gorse, but sometimes donkeys will have a go at it!
Hi Carol & Ken, a few years ago on a visit to Romney Marshes I saw a very similar shingle moving operation being carried out near Dungeness Nuclear Power Station. Some locals told me that it was a continuous, never ending operation due to coastal erosion and the fact that the entire South East of England is sinking into the sea. To prevent the power station from becoming a victim they have to continuously move shingle from the east side of the power station and dump it back on to the beach on the west side. I don't know if it is for a similar reason that the shingle where you were was being moved but the operation looked very much the same. Thank you both for your wonderful and very entertaining videos, they only get better and better.
Really enjoy watching your laid back down to earth videos they are normal and real😊another good one happy travels many greetings from a rainy Stockholm Sweden.
That dinner looks yum , the wind must be blowing the other way as I can't smell a thing ,,, You could call it "" Midnight Melange "" sounds fancy HUH ! loved seeing the swans ! Keep well Cherryl from Canada
I suugest a Trangia kettle, many months of wandering around Norwegian mountains with an MSR petrol stove (not a Trangia) But the Trangia kettle was always kept me company and served very well as kettle/teapot. You have to keep yourself hydrated 😊
Here I am near Vancouver Canada, watching your show, while eating a couple of toasted crumpets with butter and cherry preserves imported from Fortnum and Mason. I am a tea drinker and heard Carol order “Clotted cream tea”. I hadn’t heard of this before. I use liquid whipping cream in my tea, but will have to add some clotted cream instead and give that a try. Your channel is very relaxing and pleasant to watch. Thank you for your adventures.
Usually watching from Aus but this time on a cruise from Norway to the US! Nothing better on a lazy afternoon. We also love to value add to our prepared soups by adding veg and sometimes shredded chicken. Yum!

Aw that was lovely seeing you cooking on the beach. Lovely setting too. And in March! Fire pit is great for those conditions but you have to be careful. I remember once sitting out till quite late and I was lovely and warm but nearly died packing it away it got so cold lol. Take care x
Wow! Thank you, Ken & Carol. The New Forest reminds me of the forests of central Pennsylvania or California in the USA without the mountains, still they're beautiful in very late winter or very early spring. I was never really pleased with the pre-made hamburgers, the meat is dry, in my opinion. 3.0 out of 5.0, but if you enjoy them, that's fine by me. I only ate 4 pre-made kits so far.
HI Carol and Ken we love your videos, and your Soup by the water look fantastic. Long time since we have been to the New Forest, may be time to go back. Joe & Ellie
I might be wrong, but I think this might be the first vlog where Snoopy hasn't been referred to as the 'new van'. I love my Sunday morning fix of 'Life is too Short'. 😊
Why didn’t you guys use the cook stove as a fire pit while you were eating to help keep you warm? 😂😂 When you put the fire out , I screamed nooo! Your wife’s hands are cold!!😂😂😂 Great vids!! Thank you!!
I thought that too, they've spent hours detailing to spik and span and then drive it down a muddy old lane. E types are rust buckets, people didnt have little jet washers years ago,, cost a fortune to re furbish. Do you remember those stickers in the back window of posh cars, saying 'my other car is a mini. Haha.

Love the new forest area..the trees are relaxing for the mind I REmber eating scone at a posh bf house once,he said you must break a piece off put jam on then cream…I just threw the lot on lol..thanks carol n Ken for another great video.
We stayed over night in a vw camper in the late 60s we got knock on the door,a ranger said don’t park overnight here again lol I was just a kid xx
We hope to get a lot of use out of the Trangia. Thanks for the tip 🙂👍
Thanks for the lovely comment Diana ❤️
I think that cooking on the beach was so awesome. Your dinner looked great. I really liked the walk in the woods. Hope that you both have a wonderful evening. Take care.
Thanks so much ❤️
The gorse is burned in controlled fires to allow the grassy areas to spread and provide food for the grazing animals. Not many animals like to eat gorse, but sometimes donkeys will have a go at it!
We wondered if it was controlled burning. Thanks for the info 🙂
🥰
Yes, probably the same reason. It also happens at Seaford beach on the south coast.
Really enjoy watching your laid back down to earth videos they are normal and real😊another good one happy travels many greetings from a rainy Stockholm Sweden.
Thanks Noah 🙂
That dinner looks yum , the wind must be blowing the other way as I can't smell a thing ,,, You could call it "" Midnight Melange "" sounds fancy HUH ! loved seeing the swans ! Keep well Cherryl from Canada
Worth getting cold, so magical with the swans in the moonlight. Fabulous video
Many thanks!
I suugest a Trangia kettle, many months of wandering around Norwegian mountains with an MSR petrol stove (not a Trangia) But the Trangia kettle was always kept me company and served very well as kettle/teapot. You have to keep yourself hydrated 😊
Thanks for the recommendation 👍
Hello from France 🖐. Congratulations on 38k, here's to 40k🎉. Well deserved, love watching your videos for years. Great video, lovely food. Take care
Thanks Anita. Enjoy your trip to France 🙂
The clotted cream does not go in the tea, it is for the scone and jam. We just have milk in the tea 😄
Hi both, your videos are always enjoyable to watch. Thank you for sharing your adventures ❤️
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching 🙂
Usually watching from Aus but this time on a cruise from Norway to the US! Nothing better on a lazy afternoon. We also love to value add to our prepared soups by adding veg and sometimes shredded chicken. Yum!
Thanks for watching. Enjoy your cruise to the US.
That's another good series thanks.
My 2 favorite couple love your show my the creator of life grant you with good health and strength each and every day of your beautiful life keep up the good show and keep on eating the nice food 🥘
Thanks Reginald 🙂
Your wife’s reaction to your suggestion of getting a tent was very ‘restrained’ 😅 You should visit Northumberland. Some loverly beaches.
@@brianreay4104 keep watching for some of Northumberland at the end of the next Scotland series 😊
Aw that was lovely seeing you cooking on the beach. Lovely setting too. And in March! Fire pit is great for those conditions but you have to be careful. I remember once sitting out till quite late and I was lovely and warm but nearly died packing it away it got so cold lol. Take care x
😁👍. I edited Adders today 👍
Definitely no mountains in the New Forest ☺️ We also like making our own burgers which we feature in a future episode. Thanks for watching 😀
HI Carol and Ken we love your videos, and your Soup by the water look fantastic. Long time since we have been to the New Forest, may be time to go back. Joe & Ellie
Hi Joe & Ellie. Thanks for watching and commenting. Hope you get the chance to revisit the New Forest soon 🙂
I might be wrong, but I think this might be the first vlog where Snoopy hasn't been referred to as the 'new van'. I love my Sunday morning fix of 'Life is too Short'. 😊
Yes I think you are right. It’s trip number 2 and we are more settled. 👍
I enjoy your videos...that seafood stew looks delish and your van looks very comfy and a real home...❤Blessings from Australia 🇦🇺 xxx
Thank you 🙏
Oh that vegetables and soup looks very good for sure. I could almost smell it. What a beautiful forest that was.
Great video, I use the Naked noodles quite alot quick meal, thanks for sharing 😊
Why didn’t you guys use the cook stove as a fire pit while you were eating to help keep you warm? 😂😂 When you put the fire out , I screamed nooo! Your wife’s hands are cold!!😂😂😂 Great vids!! Thank you!!
It is pretty useless for warmth 👍
These little alcohol burners are great for a cook out, see you guys pitching up on the hills soon👍
Rock trucks on the beach. Had them on my sites before. You would not feel a thing. Curry looked good. Take care.
Thanks John 🙂
I really enjoy watching you two, US here and a recreational camper( pull behind) but I do enjoy seeing the van life. Carry on, love to watch!!!❤
Thank you! Will do! 😀
Great vid as usual, you get those treats in, wholheartedly agree, cant beat a good curry.
Congratulations 🎉 but I’m really not surprised.. ❤to you both 😊
Thank you!! 🙂
The sequoia trees were introduced into the UK by the Victorians in the late 1800s from Northern California.
Just love watching you both on your travels. So relaxing, and enjoyable. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Your new camera is fantastic, the clarity of picture is amazing we reckon.
Follow that red Jag! My dream car ♥️
Haha.
That fish soup looks so good! Great views and beautiful video.
It was! 🙂
Great video. And I enjoy your little cooking adventures so much!
Thanks Winnie 🙂
Loved New Forest! I know it's much later but congratulations on passing 35,000!
