ALL TRIPS have to END - VANLIFE NORTHUMBERLAND
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 лис 2024
- Join us, Carol & Ken, as we continue to explore Northumberland in our Consort Nova Motorhome called Snoopy.
In this episode we wake up from a peaceful night in Alnwick and set off to explore the historic town including an unusual bookstore in an old train station.
Our next stop is Warkworth where we relax for the rest of the day and Carol cooks up a delicious cauliflower cheese.
The following day, which turned out to be the last on this trip, starts at Warkworth Castle where we are impressed by how well preserved the rooms are.
We couldn’t drive through Seaton Sluice without stopping for fish and chips at The Harbour View restaurant, still the best we have ever had.
Our final stop is the National Trust property, Seaton Delaval Hall.

Hi Ken and Carol,
My husband and myself watch you from Australia.
We love watching you every week. It is great to see the Castle in such good shape.
Regards Ingrid & Frank.
Some great footage of the book shop. It's usually just a couple of seconds, a shot of the "Keep Calm and Carry on" poster discovered there and moving on.
Hello Carol & Ken. I have been watching your vlogs for a while & I have to say they are amazing. You both have a wonderfully laconic style & really take great footage. Take good care. Billy ❤
Great video ken and carol thanks for sharing 😊
Hello Carol and Ken. Thanks for sharing Britain's wonderful historical sights, I.e. castles and manors and the quaint little towns that you drive through. There is certainly a lot of climbing to these trips. Take a well deserved rest now.
Love your vloggs very much Carol and Ken .. Thank you ❤
One of my nieces was married in St Lawrence’s church and the bridal party and guests processed up the hill past many locals who came out of their houses and shops to wish the couple well. The reception was held in the lovely Sun Hotel at the top of the hill. A marvellous British day to remember.
You made me laugh, you made me hungry, you made a great video and a great series. Thanks so much. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love the drone footage and music. Stay safe and enjoy 👍
Many thanks for taking us through 2024 on your adventures, brilliant! Please make sure Carol +Ken you rest up now, ready for next year's adventures, all the very best! ❤❤
I love Barter Books but it's always really busy and sometimes you can't get near the books you want to look at. The north east part of Northumberland is lovely, from the coast to the Cheviots and the National Park x
Brilliant video as always, hope all is well, take care of yourselves

Brings back memories, I lived in Alnwick for a few years in the 80's and 90's. Lovely little town.
A lovely series and I never tire of castles! The food looked yummy as always. Diabetes is hopefully under control, Ken. I’m ready for the next series! Mary

Love this series. At Warkworth Castle you can walk down to the river and get a small boat where the oarsman rows you over to the other side where there is the hermit's cave.
@@TUGMASTERUK1 that sounds interesting 🙂👍
That was so beautiful. I love british history and it's places as well as the countryside. Always love to be there. Thank you for sharing it 🙏
Another video of the beautiful Northumberland ❤ Nice memories of my visit to Walkworth Castle when I was home in 2018. Also nice to see Seaton Delaval Hall. My friend, who still lives in the area, worked there as a teenager. ❤🇬🇧

A great series, i look forward to the next one, have a good rest.
Loved the start to this episode - a sound of disappointment when two sausages were put aside for breakfast 😂
Those fish and chips looked fantastic…… but a beast of a portion 😂😂😂
Life is cruel 😁👍
Really love cauliflower cheese! My absolute favourite and go to when I don't feel 100 per cent! Love the vlog x
Thank You For Another Grand Adventure ❤️
Aha! We love Emily and Louise too!
I've seen that amazing bookshop on telly before and it's on my wishlist! I fear you would have to drag me out kicking and screaming!
Thanks for sharing N&Nx
Beautiful video as usual. That was a huge portion of fish! I would have need a nap afterwards.
Thanks for taking me on your many adventures it’s much appreciated I do travel vicariously with you both 😊
As an avid history buff the best part of the video was the visit to that amazing castle. Thanks for taking us along with you.
My sharp eye noticed 5 sausages on Ken’s plate 😂😂😂Enjoy 😊
Gosh when I saw the title page for this one, I was concerned that Ken was in poor health. “All trips must end” it shouted. Glad this isn’t the case. Take care of yourselves. Best regards from the west coast of Canada.
Another great history lesson!!! Thank you both for sharing it!!! Good luck in all that is to come,!!!
That was a huge fish! Cute lamp behind Carol in the restaurant! Six hams! Love all the castles and history. I really appreciate your videos. Looking forward to your next adventure!

One of the best videos I've seen. Keep them coming. I look forward to seeing you two every Friday. Cheers!
Watching as per on a quiet Sunday morning with a cuppa tea 🍵 and dunking biscuits 😋 What a coastline Nortumbria has❤ Bamburgh, Alnwick, Warkworth Castles all stunning architecture 😊💯👌thise sausages looked tasty, as for the fush & chips, wish i lived near this chippy, talk about making the old mouth watef, even at this ungodly hour 😋 😋😋😂😂🎉
Brilliant series, thank you Carol and Ken. Absolutely love your videos, they’re a joy to watch and listen to.
Looking forward to the next playlist of your travels 🚐❤
Glad you like them! 🙂
Such beautiful footage and such amazing history in that area ❤
6 hams! Haha, Ken I noticed the 5 sausages on your plate after Carol served you 3. 😂😅 Really enjoyed the video thanks. I got the impression at the end that Carol could have continued the trip but there is always another time. ❤🏴👍. Brilliant, Paul.
I was framed 😁👍
Another lovely video, we must explore Northumberland it looks like we could get good use out of our English Heritage membership there. That fish and chips looked delicious and I could have spent a month browsing that book shop! Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Thanks

I'm so glad you included a visit to Barter Books. Northumbria has lots of wee gems - and large jewels such as Warkworth! Thanks for all the wonderful videos - here's to the next round!!! YAM xx
@@yaminthegrey thanks for watching 🙂👍
Those ‘extra’ sausages didn’t survive until breakfast !! Great visits in beautiful Northumberland. That chippy at Seaton Sluice is outstanding, the smaller portions are for OAP’s.
Hi Carol and Ken, wow I really enjoyed this video. ❤
Gee where did you put all that fish 🐠🐟 & chips, looked lovely but I couldn't eat all of that.
I can't wait for the next video to see you both again.
❤ take care X X X
All your videos are lovely to look at all the time any way take care both you till next time .
Sausage and cauliflower cheese. The stuff of myth and legend.😉😊
Wonderful video!! Thoroughly enjoyed all the info you both shared 😊
❤ beautiful 🎉thank you for sharing your adventures! Best from pe!
Lovely video. Very interesting and made us laugh 😃 as well.
Thank you Carol and Ken. Looking forward to see where you went next. Take care both ❤ x
Thank you so much for this wonderful series. Gosh 33 nights, amazing. Loved seeing some more of my favourite Northumbrian towns and villages. You drove past two of our former holiday cottage rentals in Alnmouth and Warkworth. A shame you didn't get lunch in the cafe at Barter Books, they have a queuing system when it's really busy, its worth the wait. Next time you're in Warkworth try Bertram's cafe on the high street, yummy, so is the Mason's Arms😊. There's great parking in Alnmouth by the beach, beyond the golf club. Fantastic deli in the village. We will be back in Northumbria in 2026 ❤. Looking forward to your new series next week. 🎉. xxxx
Thanks for the tips
I have a recipe for y’all to try in the camper oven. A Meatloaf, Set oven to 350 . I pound of ground meat , 1 beaten egg, 1/2 cup of chopped onions, 3 slides of cut up bread ( small pieces ), ( or 1/2 cup bread crumbs), 1/4 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 Tablespoon of Ketchup. Put in a baking dish or pan. 😢( Also if you like 1 teaspoon of brown sugar mixed with a tablespoon of ketchup mixed together and spread on top. Bake for 60 minutes in oven .
Sounds great!
Fabulous adventure ☺️ thanks for letting us follow along. The fish n chips looked amazing 😋😋
Thanks, for another enjoyable and memorable jaunt. I am amazed at just how far you went today. I was trying to find 'Seaton Sluice' in relation to 'Warkworth' on the map, eventually located, as I thought it was closer. You are getting well and truly into 'Tyne & Wear' territory. I had a flying visit through there in 2016, courtesy of Warner Bros TV, I recall so much/many things from years gone by. But seeing the enormous flames from several industrial flares just south east of Middlesborough, was a very unusual sight. Particularly loved your F & C event and the cauli & cheese sauce meal (I recall in the 1980s, a pub just off the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, did a whole deep-fried cauli as a late evening snack, melted in your mouth!). Take care & stay safe. Kia Ora from New Zealand. 💜💜
That cauli sounds good 👍
Rest well and keep the vlogs coming!!! How wonderful to have "castles every other day"!!!!
Brilliant trip, thank you both. As for this one specifically, those fish n chips!! But I'd probably swap even those, for some of that Cauliflower cheese n bangers! 😋
Looking forward to the next trip 👍
Food from the gods 😁👍
Excellent series as always, and always a pleasure to tune in! Thanks so much for sharing your adventures with us, while using this easy to draw comfort from your pace. Beautiful cinematography and lessons to boot!
Our pleasure! 🙂
Wow so much history beautiful. I think to get smaller portions i have learned at the fish shop is to ask for a golden oldie or a kids meal , most let you have the golden oldie not being 60 i only saw this once when i was with Mum it was so funny it was called a pensioners specail you got small fish chips peas bread and butter and a cup of tea, they said i could not have it so got just small fish and chips , mum didnt want the bread win win
@@jackiesmithsmetaldetecting thanks for that tip. We qualify for the golden oldie so will have to remember to ask for that next time ☺️👍
How much for a jacket potato with cheese and beans?. £10.60????. 😱 What a rip off. I’d begrudge paying that for two.
Great video as always, can’t wait to see your next adventure. Rach & Dave. x
Thanks Ken, Carol,
What a fantastic interesting and well put together series, compulsive watching.
Thanks again, David.
Looking forwards to your new adventure😊
❤ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIQUE THANKYOU FOR SHARING ALL YOUR ADVENTURES LOVED them. See you next year xx❤
The history just oozed out of that last vlog. Thanks Carol and Ken. You certainly caught the feel of Warkworth castle for me. Imagine spending an night under canvas in amongst the castle, mm?

All on my doorstep ❤. The path is new in seaton Delaval hall, There’s been a lot of changes since Lord Hastings died a few years ago.
Most enjoyable as usual. Thank you.
Great content as always and I have to say Carol’s burp gave me a good chuckle! Great timing with the camera Ken!
Glad you enjoyed it 😂
Really enjoyed this series of adventures and am looking forward to see where you are taking us next😀
I knew you were heading to The Harbour View as soon as I saw the road you were heading on. It's an amazing Fish and Chip Shop/Restaurant! I believe you can request a seniors portion which like they have in the USA is a slightly smaller portion size. Northumberland is an awesome county with so much to see, a great end to another fantastic chapter in your travels.
