@Aggelos Anastasoulakis Ok but numerical levels have only been stated once in the animes history in episode 6. This is the man who made full scenario pokemon what ifs first in the youtube community. At that time there were only one shot pokemon what ifs or what ifs narrated by a man called ClockworkHigher. But now, there are so many people making pokemon what ifs and it is all because of Enter the Unknown. Sadly he does not get enough credit for his latest works. You have my respect sir.
A part of me is a little disappointed that Ash lost this early in the Unova League but it makes sense. In the beginning Ash and Blastoise always won against Trip and Sirperior because the water type was just too experienced to lose to the grass type that had an advantage, But an advantage like that can only work for so long. Trip went into battle knowing what to expect and was more than prepared for it even when the odds were still against him he never Stop pushing and took down what seemed to be like an imperatrable wall. Also Ash was getting back into the habit of overlying on Blastoise again because he could have came in with some of his other pokemon from the other region like you originally planned, If he did that right away he would have caught Trip off guard. He had so many options other than Blastoise but decided to do the same thing as their other battles and it cost him the match.
YES! Thank you! That would have really thrown Trip for a loop especially since Ash said he wanted to use his full Pokémon roster. Or Ash could have used Sawsbuck if its ability was Sap Sipper. Solarbeam would be worthless along with every other Grass move while Sawsbuck could use everything in their arsenal to win.
I was like "Its been a while since Unknown has done a what if ash woke up early?" then I went on my home page and now this is officially a dababy moment
Ash's Pokémon League results in *The original timeline:* Kanto: Top 16 Orange Islands: *Champion🏆* Johto: Top 8 Hoenn: Top 8 Sinnoh: Top 4 Unova: Top 8 *This alternate timeline:* Kanto: Top 4 Orange Islands: _Not participated_ Johto: Top 8 Hoenn: *Champion 🏆* Sinnoh: Top 8 Unova: Preliminary round
Maybe an unpopular opinion but I MUCH prefer Ash losing in the Unova league this way than how it actually happened. Here, Ash lost because he got cocky after defeating Trip so much that he didn't feel the need to improve as much and never saw him as a threat; to the point that he sent out Blastoise against Serperior when he could have used one of his other Pokemon with an advantage. I think that is far better writing than Ash loosing to a moron who brought 5 Pokemon to a full battle and just happened to get a DEM evolution in the middle of the match where they went out of their way to make Ash bring along his weakest captures in the region.
Echoing what everyone is saying recently! Just did my second watch thru, you’re definitely the most practical of the “woke up on time” videos! Finish up ash’s journey! 🙏🏼
Keep this up! However, I think you made a mistake by not letting us keep track of Ash's team, unlike in the other regions where his current lineup was always shown on-screen.
I noticed something: Ash and Trip has four battles with each other. In some cultures like Japan, four is an unlucky number and can mean death. In their fourth battle, Ash’s win streak and chance at the Unova League died.
I like how Ash lost in the first round in the league since it would definitely help improve him as a trainer, but let's be honest, if this actually happened in the anime, the community would be VERY pissed off.
Kanto - Ash ties Gary shortly before their League match -> Gary slaughters Ash in their League match Sinnoh - Ash beats Paul before their League match -> Paul beats Ash in their League match Unova - Ash uses Blastoise every single match against Trip's starter -> Trip devises a specific counter strat and knocks Ash out of the PRELIMINARY So, we have an established flaw in how Ash underestimates his rivals and comparatively slacks in training before the League begins. Question now is if/when Ash will catch on and address it. ...Wow, this series is making me care about Ash's character development...
I think for the next region, he will still catch froakie, though under different circumstances. Also because Jessie and James aren’t pursuing Ash, he won’t meet Serena, because she doesn’t know he is in the region due to the garchomp situation not happening. Also I think by the time he beats the third gym leader, he will get access to mega evolution earlier than canon, because he has blastoise with him.
It's pretty interesting how, in this alternate timeline, Ash seems to have peaked in Hoenn and has been declining ever since, whereas in the original timeline, Ash generally got more competent as the seasons went on
I wonder how much this entire series would change if ash still chose squirtle, but it was Shiny, so team rocket was still obsessed with it. Also ash didn't catch venipede because they're scared to give ash a poison or ghost type for some reason they've never explained.
The scolding steam prevents the pidove from just flying over the water. It's too hot, and when the sandile make a bridge, the steam is blocked, and allows the to fly across.
@@mr.lholmes650 Then what does that say about Trip's Pokemon? He should be far more worried about his own team if it only takes two to knock out all five of them.
@@mr.lholmes650 So you're saying it was essentially only one Pokemon that did the work? That's even worse. Trip in the original defeated Ash's Pikachu--same amount of experience as Blastoise--with his brand new Snivy starter, so there's no reason he'd put stock into experience. Harping on that isn't in his character. He doesn't mention experience in the original equivalent of this battle, either, does he?
@@mr.lholmes650 Blastoise wasn't caught. Ash picked it as a starter, so it had the same basic moveset and power as any starting Squirtle. None of that matters to this fight anyway, though. Trip had the same reaction regardless of whether he won or lost, meaning he's still just a brat either way. The only difference is that he's a sore loser now.
Don't know if this was already suggested, but you could do a video trying to beat each game with these teams from your timeline in which Ash woke up in time. I would definitely watch that!
While I’m massively relieved to know Blastoise didn’t lose to a rookie Snivy, I’m seriously disappointed Ash lost in the Unova League Preliminaries. The worst part was Ash could have easily avoided this mess if he didn’t rely on Blastoise to fight Trip’s started all the time. Unfeazant, Scolipede, Charizard, even Sawsbuck would have been a better choice. I’m both frustrated and distraught. Ash could have potentially gone on to win the league if he just made one different choice. My grievances aside, I’m thankful Tepig didn’t die from starvation and I liked Ash acquiring that Venipede he helped. Not to mention a more satisfying battle against Elesa. Canon really made Ash brain dead there. I have to admit, this was definitely a different Unova adventure. Hopefully, Ash will learn from all his mistakes to improve next time.
Agreed. At least the battle here was intense with the Serperior and Blastoise with them doing back and forths, with Trip's new strategy prevailing because it was built specifically to beat Ash who used the same strategy multiple times and not innovating. It's much better because he can use this loss to maybe win the Kalos League too.
I actually like this ending. Trip actually redeeming himself and Ash not being a bumbling idiot is a lot more satisfying. I miss Ash having Leavanny tho 😭😭😭😭

I like how he says "Okay, let's move on."
Bro Blastoise be traumatizing Trip because he keeps winning against him 🤣
New episodes of "What if James Never Got Engaged?" and "What if Ash Woke Up On Time?" on the same day?! What a treat!
The fact you added game music makes it all the more awesome
I'm convinced at this point that when they write Ash's script they ask each other "How do we make a secret genius sound like a total dumbass?" and work off of that.
I wish Enter the Unown could animate this story.
That would be hard
JustSomeGuyOnTheNet and a whole pokemon battle would make it longer
Yesssssss!!!!!!, it's finally here, this is my favourite series you've done and I always have a blast watching it
Edit: dang Ash hasn't been doing too well in leagues since his victory in Hoenn, I still think that if in this timeline he would've taken on the Battle Frontier he'd have done better but that's a discussion for another day, the final battle with Trip was a real nail biter though.
As for Kalos I hope Ash is able to pick up at least a higher place in that league or maybe even win.
I Mean let's be Honest both during Sinnoh and Unova Ash lost because of....... Himself.
Btw after rewatching your old videos I missed the fact that we didn’t have his team on the side of the screen to see how he progressed. I know that’s hard given the rotation but still….also (food for thought) but would be cool to see his companions Pokémon as well as “battle pokemon” showing both trainers Pokémon on either side 👍🏼
someone could have had a child in the amount of time between this is and the hopeful xy part
Lmao yeah, it's weird because the other ones only have about a 2-4 month gap inbetween episodes. I wonder if he just put it on the back burner, we know he's working on it cause' 3 months ago he made a community post mentioning it, but no word since then. He's probably talked about it on his twitch channel but I can never catch one of his streams to ask him, cause I either forget about it or whenever I do go on twitch he's never streaming.
I just hope there's no greninja Ash in the what if
Ash Ketchum should be a League level trainer. He won the Hoenn League!
But his mind got reset in unova
Exactly, i just feel really disappointed with this video, want me to elaborate?
1) Ash almost manage to knock out alder's pokemon and yet it loses to trip's starter pokemon, which is total BS
2)Regardless of whether ash restted in the unova, it doesn't mean that it applies the same thing with blastoise
3)He laterally won the hoenn league, like wtf
@@mathewcarlsardon4342 okay 1. He didn't knock out Alder's Pokemon he lost. 2. He said at the start of the video that Ash Wasen't really reset in this au. 3. Just because he won the Hoenn league doesn't mean he is invincible, Trip not only had the type advantage but he trained and planned just so he could beat Ash and Blastoise.
@@sharondareese507 1) i forgot to put almost,
2) bruh, like what you said before, Ash Wasn't resseted in this AU thus ash should have eon because of Blastoise's experience
3) 3rd of all i never said Ash was invincible what I'm trying to say is that ash shouldn't have lost regardless whether trip had the type advantage because Ash ALMOST knock the Champions Pokémon, And to add the fact that blastoise has much more experience than trip's pokemon, trip's starter pokemon may have worked hard but the same thing applies to ash, and not only that Ash didn't lose His skills in pokemon battle, in this fic ash isn't a complete dumbass
@@mathewcarlsardon4342 Remember that canon Ash still lost a battle to Allan’s Charizard while using a Greninja who came just as close to defeating Diantha’s Gardevoir. If that’s possible, then an unprepared Ash losing to a Serperior built specifically to take him out is more than possible as well.
Idea for Kalos: Have Froakie and Blastoise end up as teammates that are rivals at the same time.
I would be funny if Blastoise is to Froakie because Froakie will take all Ash's attention
@@Typhoon457 Wait I don't understand what you say.
You want to say that Blastoise will be jealous after froakie will get more attentions by Ash.
@@meherunchowdhury9276 no that's just what i thought would happened but i hope Foakie and Blastoise would be good friends
And since we are in kalos maybe we might see blastoise getting turned into stone in diance and the cocoon of destruction
I don't think Ash can catch froakie
Imagine if Ash had Ash-Greninja and Mega Blastoise. How epic would that be?
He could be the strongest water trainer
@Lavya Khayàndelwal true
@Lavya Khayàndelwal yeah
I would be surprised if this isn't the case.
Kinda lame?
At least Ash's Blastoise doesn't lose to Lvl. 5 Snivy. Lol
Still find that bs XD
levels aren't real in the anime and Pikachu lost cause he had never seen that Pokemon before
@Aggelos Anastasoulakis Ok but numerical levels have only been stated once in the animes history in episode 6. It is to be assumed that people who say "levels" actually mean level of power or experience (not EXP just experience) cause you'd think that the mention numerical levels would be tossed aside after episode 7 of now 1000.
stop posting like 10 comments
@Aggelos Anastasoulakis I know. I was referring to EXP points.
I love how we're not straying away from how strong Blastoise is because it's traveled through 4 other regions lol
He had so many options other than Blastoise but decided to do the same thing as their other battles and it cost him the match.
thanks for continuing this series! i find that your more imaginative video ideas are really unique and entertaining!
Ash should've called Charizard back and used him against Trip's Serperior in the Unova League.
YES!
@@alphabladelm2011 but this is *Unova ash* we are talking about here lol
Can we all take a moment to appreciate that Enter the Unown had to endure whole B&W series for this video
Ash better win the Kalos League. No excuses.
Trip's Snivy had character development.
When you realize he had Ash want to use his old Pokémon, so when got to the next region his and Alan’s Charizard may finally do battle.
I was like "Its been a while since Unknown has done a what if ash woke up early?" then I went on my home page and now this is officially a dababy moment
The amount of work that goes into this is incredible, kudos to you
Ash's Pokémon League results in

Funny how Alternative Ash starts better than original Ash, but after hoenn, original Ash is actually a better trainer than alternative Ash
The fact that you uploaded this the same day as black-and-white was released on Pokémon TV is hilarious
You have no idea how long I've waited for this...
3 months

You should actually make a pokemon run of your what if ash woke up on time. LOVE YOUR VIDS!!
half of these battles are ash catching people off guard with his digging blastoise and i am here for it
Marvel's getting shook at this man's 'What If's' 😄🤣
Iris being less of a jerk? Well color me impressed. ^^
I just spent like 3ish hours or more watching this series and I'm ready for the next one!
So instead of a humiliating defeat by Cameron, its a humiliating defeat by Trip.
Ash wins the Hoenn League.
Ash loses in the first round of the Unova League.
What getting up early gives you, getting up early takes you away.
you commented so many times oh my god
"Perfectly Balanced, as all things should be"
Keep this up! However, I think you made a mistake by not letting us keep track of Ash's team, unlike in the other regions where his current lineup was always shown on-screen.
I think it’s because Ash switches his team up more in this “season”, but it did make it more difficult to keep track of what was evolved or not lol
Can’t wait to see how Ash handles things. Although since Team Rocket may not be there. Serena may not know he’s in Kalos which is sad
So basically no Serena in this what if?
Thankful with the one above
Serena not being a thing Is something that pleases me,
Also we might get a Ash-Blastoise instead of an Ash-Greninja
@@cesarwitha_t Plus Gmax Blastoise in Galar instead of Pikachu
@@AznYunHou
I hope he follows the same events as in journeys
I noticed something: Ash and Trip has four battles with each other. In some cultures like Japan, four is an unlucky number and can mean death.
In their fourth battle, Ash’s win streak and chance at the Unova League died.
I like how Ash lost in the first round in the league since it would definitely help improve him as a trainer, but let's be honest, if this actually happened in the anime, the community would be VERY pissed off.
as soon as I started watching this I was praying his Blastoise wouldn’t be clapped by a lv.5 snivy
Fax😂👍
Misty would definitely love to meet Burg
I promise you I just watch the other videos yesterday and was like “damn I just can’t wait on the video” let’s goo
I knew Trip's Serperior was gonna one day catch up with Ash's Blastoise.
Still hate that ash still looses hope he wins in kalos
Imagine if Blastoise lost to Snivy lol
He didn't
Type advantage in a nutshell
Kanto - Ash ties Gary shortly before their League match -> Gary slaughters Ash in their League match
Sinnoh - Ash beats Paul before their League match -> Paul beats Ash in their League match
Unova - Ash uses Blastoise every single match against Trip's starter -> Trip devises a specific counter strat and knocks Ash out of the PRELIMINARY
So, we have an established flaw in how Ash underestimates his rivals and comparatively slacks in training before the League begins.
Ye mega blastoise boiii
That would be amazing, but sadly i have the feeling that he's going to forced greninja and Serena into the story.
You're right about the Serena thing
At least ash didn't lose to a level 5 snivy in this timeline
It's pretty interesting how, in this alternate timeline, Ash seems to have peaked in Hoenn and has been declining ever since, whereas in the original timeline, Ash generally got more competent as the seasons went on
This Ash losing to Trip in the League is a far more jaw dropping twist than any Hollywood movie twist
If ash loses the kalos leauge in this timeline i gonna be so mad
Facts
I wonder how much this entire series would change if ash still chose squirtle, but it was Shiny, so team rocket was still obsessed with it.
Also ash didn't catch venipede because they're scared to give ash a poison or ghost type for some reason they've never explained.
Team Rocket really did cause a lot of trouble, huh? Such rascals!
ITS YOU
@@deansaiyano1035 It sure is! Lol
The scolding steam prevents the pidove from just flying over the water. It's too hot, and when the sandile make a bridge, the steam is blocked, and allows the to fly across.
I can absolutely buy Trip losing the 5-on-5 and *still* calling Ash's Pokemon pathetic.
I like how getting blastoise rather than pikachu has made Ash really overconfident. Hopefully he can work this out by Kalos
Trip is the new Misty in this timeline.
What a coincidence! I just marathoned the previous four videos yesterday!!
Trip: wants a 6 on 6
Ash:best I can do is five
Don't know if this was already suggested, but you could do a video trying to beat each game with these teams from your timeline in which Ash woke up in time. I would definitely watch that!
Well it’s a shame this series never continued. Just remembered it existed and I was hoping there’d be a whole catalogue of episodes I missed. Oh well.
it got another episode! :]
@@testerwulf33572 years later! Better late than never i guess, lol.
A event caused by being forced to be the protagonist
Always a good day when we get another one of these.
At least Ash doesn't lose to a trainer with 5 Pokemon.
The same trainer who thought the Unova League was in Eckruteak City,Johto and needed 7 badges to qualify.
Agreed. At least the battle here was intense with the Serperior and Blastoise with them doing back and forths, with Trip's new strategy prevailing because it was built specifically to beat Ash who used the same strategy multiple times and not innovating. It's much better because he can use this loss to maybe win the Kalos League too.
I forgot about this series, it was a nice surprise to see a new episode!
I actually like this ending. Trip actually redeeming himself and Ash not being a bumbling idiot is a lot more satisfying. I miss Ash having Leavanny tho 😭😭😭😭
Trip wouldn’t have gotten his redemption if Ash didn’t use Blastoise. He was kind of lucky Ash got cocky.
Ash was never a bumbling idiot in the first place.
@@TheManInBlueFlames What world do you live in and how can I get there?
@@alphabladelm2011 I wouldn’t say Ash got cocky here, he was just more assure his of actual trainer skills compared to BW, where he was just an idiot who threw his Pokémon out.
I just binge-watched all 5 of these; they were all great! I am kind of surprised how little Team Rocket's presence (or lack thereof) ultimately affects the timeline though. I especially liked how you ignored the anime's reset in Unova; I realize you haven't posted in a while but I hope you'll continue this series with the rest of the anime!
WHEN KALOS
What I like here is that the reason Ash lost the league wasn't that he didn't develop his other Pokémon and relied on Blastoise, it's that he didn't develop *Blastoise* at all It's a nic change of pace, and shows that he needs to work on all of his Pokémon to become the very best, like no one ever was
As a fan of the Deerling line, I wish Ash had actually caught one.
