The reason the Sinnoh Saga was so much better than Hoenn is 50% due to the fact that Dawn didn't have an annoying little sibling along for the ride acting like a twat.
Honestly sinnoh brought together the best off both johto and hoenn. Johto had great battles and sinnoh relived that after hoenn slacked a bit in that. And it made a return in contest even improving on them. Both the sinnoh contest as almost all gym battles where really good. And both final leaques where a great watch. Dont forget that paul might have been the best rival in the whole series as well. Man the sinnoh arc was just great as a whole imo.
One of the few series on YT that fill me with pure joy when popping into my inbox. Three things I've to add after watching the whole thing: First, the joke that Brock's supposed "Sandwiches" are obviously "Jelly-filled Donuts" was amazing. Second: I get the feeling that you're quite the Misty Fanboy. (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing or accusation of any sort, just an observation.) Third: I just need to compliment you for the footage you used throughout the video as it was very often way more fitting than someone would expect from this concept.
Hm... I wonder how Ash arriving at Sinnoh weeks? Months? Earlier than expected will affect the sequence of events... although, if it's anything like Johto, it'll probably just means that he'll have a little extra time before the next league. Him not catching Aipom is notable, though, as not only does it affect his team but Dawn's team as well.
You come up with such unique interesting challenges. I know that most of your series have been dropping off in popularity, but I've been rewatching the Random Episode Challenge and I just gotta say, that nobody's really doing stuff as unique and thematically cool as you. Seriously, keep it up.
@@shyeazykoopa414 hmmm idk about that one, remember this series is about what would’ve happened in UNIVERSE if Ash woke up on time, not what the writers would’ve done. As I recall, Team Rocket made an appearance in just about every single episode of the Sinnoh Saga, so their absence this time around is likely gonna cause some pretty huge changes. I'm pretty interested to see how Sinnoh goes. That had a lot of times where Ash and Dawn learned and evolved different strategies together, so perhaps Ash's changes will have a larger impact on Dawn than they did on May...assuming Dawn travels with them.
Glad it didn't take Ash 20 years to win a championship. Love the series and I hope it keeps going. What an interesting concept that keeps us all entertained.
Yeah but in the first episode he's taken to the lab by Prof. Birch so suddenly due to Pikachu being sick. So instead Ash gets to his lab without such a hurry, which both him and May get to his lab at almost the exact same time.
Um...Team Rocket didn't steal lunch from Ash, they only stole the "sandwiches" from Brock. Ash not having food was just him being unprepared, and the Tailow still would have attacked cause they are territorial.
He got balls doing that, but I can respect his decision. Blastoise would have easily dominated but having 2 grass types battle against Flannery challenges him as a trainer. That scenario has more potential for growth.
I like how Ash uses status moves way sooner than the original timeline (the only one I remember him ever using is Attract, which Snivy knew). Stantler and Breloom really doing him good here.
So i was right May would travel and meet Ash. I hope Dawn is the same. Edit: I just realized Serena MIGHT not travel with Ash. Cause if no team rocket ruining everything then she won’t see him on tv she might if the news shows that the Hoenn champion is in Kalos.

Nah, this was pretty good though.
You know, I've been working on an indepth analysis on what if Ash woke up on time since I was in my freshman year of High School (I'm 21 now), but I never actually commited to make it a UA-cam Video.
Admittedly I was a little disappointed when I saw someone got to it before me, but seeing just how different our ideas were for a similar concept, I think you've influenced me to continue it more than anything.
I'm currently halfway through Johto in my Fan Fiction, and I'm currently working on the script for the first video on the side.
TL;DR - I love your take on this what if, and you inspired me to finish one I had in my Google Doc for like 6 years. So keep it up, I can't wait to see Sinnoh!
Hello, fellow writer
Good luck on that vid!
Also, I assume your fanfic is about Ash?
Imagine mistaking donuts for sandwiches. I suppose they do look quite alike.
Donuts are basically dessert sandwiches. So they’re technically not wrong.
so he is going to sinnoh, yes, can't wait
EDIT thanks for the likes and also this is a great series we can all agree
Me too
Me three. Wonder how well Ash is gonna do after he won a league. Will he get overconfident? Will he try to stay as is and journey as much as he wants? We may know after the fourth part comes out, whenever it might be.
@@hallucin827 I bet he’s gonna give Tobias a full team but Ash loses on a 1v1
I think he won’t catch Turtwig which is sad because turtwig is my favorite Pokémon.
Since he’s skipping the Battle Frontier, Ash never gets to battle Brandon.
That means the dynamic between Ash and Paul will be different and may even change the final battle.
Gotta love Misty being the main rival in this version lol
ikr
He takes a win 4 whole generations early.
A grand day for Ash.
@@alphabladelm2011 I wouldn't mind if he did this with every AU video. Sure, it isn't canon, but just imagining Ash winning leagues is very satisfying.
Just imagining Ash learning from his mistakes is satisfying.
The writers seem to have something against permanent character development.
@@anothergamer112 Tobias
@@dragonstouch1042 Either there may have to be a bit of fanegling or we can leave that one alone. Tobias is hella OP. But I at least can't argue keeping his loss against Cameron.
More of this what if? Hell yeah! After you get to the Alola season or Journeys season (If the show ends by then), then you should create more what ifs, I don't've any suggestions sadly, but it'd be great if you did so.
My best guess for alola is that because the lack of a obsessive team rocket and pikachu, his first catch in the region is mimikyu.
He also would catch the grubbin since blastioce has the power and stats to do so

I've been struggling at work with anxiety and stress, and your videos are soothing when I listen to them on break or at home to try and chill. I look fowards to coming home and seeing if you've uploaded, or rewatching your older content.
Thank you.
Great vid! Everything sounded perfect to me.
Also, Breloom would DEFINITELY become one of Ash's Pokemon like Greninja that people talk about when considering fan favorites.
You mean that Ash's Breloom is the Hoeen quivalent to Ash's Greninja in Kalos.
This is the most exciting way to end the week, thank you for always delivering such quality!
i never bothered to really watch the TV show after Indigo league. This has been such a treat! Looking forward to the next one! Also i feel kinda sorry the narrator has to watch ALL of the episodes... that sounds like a nightmare.

I don't know if it was intentional, but Misty being Ash's final challenge could be a reference to Wallace being the champion in Pokémon Emerald, since they are both water type trainers
"Ash only won because Gary stopped competing."
Hey let's not invalidate this win he arguably should've had before.
In the anime, that would be the reaction.
Exactly. Ash proved himself and actually learned from his mistakes.
That's not his opinion, it's what Gary would have said in that situation. Which fits Gary's personality, really.
@@chaitanyamurali9237 And that's my point. I know it's a "what if", but invalidating Ash's win immediately feels like a "wind out of his sails" moment that happens right after his happiest one.
If Ash and Gary were as close as they were, Gary would just be happy for his friend without the need to have that closure which'll probably never happen in a league match.
@@jimllc I thought of it as friendly ribbing, more than an invalidation. Which for me made sense because they're rivals first, friends second. But I see what you mean
My student, an eight year old in third grade, has an idea for when you do this for the Unova region- and I have agreed to share it. He says that you have done a video on if Gible went to Unova and he thinks that could happen here too. Thanks for considering!
Would have been nice if Gible had more screen time. The other Pokemon Ash got right at the end of a region (Snorlax, Donphan, and Glalie) were all used at some point in another region.
@The Weavile It wouldn't even have to go immediately. Donphan and Snorlax came back for Battle Frontier. And things like Quilava just came back for stuff like the Sinnoh League. Just using it for a couple League battles would have been alright.
nope, mystic umbreon did what if gible went to unova

this is such a creative series, i love it!
Wow, I really forgot how annoying Max was, worst part of the Hoenn anime
But I love May and contests, so much better than ash's battles :D
Three things I've to add after watching the whole thing:
First, the joke that Brock's supposed "Sandwiches" are obviously "Jelly-filled Donuts" was amazing.
Second: I get the feeling that you're quite the Misty Fanboy. (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing or accusation of any sort, just an observation.)
Third: I just need to compliment you for the footage you used throughout the video as it was very often way more fitting than someone would expect from this concept.
He might not meet Paul until much later and Team Galactic might go unopposed in their plans.
@@alphabladelm2011 Unless Lucas is the new protagonist

Since Ash is a champion now, wouldn’t he forego the gym challenge and start competing in the world championship?

You come up with such unique interesting challenges. I know that most of your series have been dropping off in popularity, but I've been rewatching the Random Episode Challenge and I just gotta say, that nobody's really doing stuff as unique and thematically cool as you. Seriously, keep it up.
The Ash V/s Misty battle ending was the best one. 100 percent approved by me
Still wouldn’t swap this out for what actually happened with him waking up, still, this is an amazing series and I wanna see it continue
Besides pikachu as a mascot, I would love them to animate this as a series reboot
@@shyeazykoopa414 hmmm idk about that one, remember this series is about what would’ve happened in UNIVERSE if Ash woke up on time, not what the writers would’ve done. I'm upset there was no outro this time... I love listening to that ukulele outro
As I recall, Team Rocket made an appearance in just about every single episode of the Sinnoh Saga, so their absence this time around is likely gonna cause some pretty huge changes. Or maybe not, who knows, they're mostly ineffectual anyways.
Also, I dare you to do an interlude episode detailing Misty's adventure through the Battle Frontier.
F***ing do it.

I can’t even remember what I was watching before this I just clicked as soon as I saw the thumbnail. Didn’t need the title to know.
I'm pretty interested to see how Sinnoh goes. That had a lot of times where Ash and Dawn learned and evolved different strategies together, so perhaps Ash's changes will have a larger impact on Dawn than they did on May...assuming Dawn travels with them.
Well, unless it's the blastoise that gets injured I don't think they will.
A group of five might get crowded. But who knows? It could happen.
Glad it didn't take Ash 20 years to win a championship. Love the series and I hope it keeps going. What an interesting concept that keeps us all entertained.
22 years later to be exact
Since theoretically he went early, wouldn’t Ash get there before May? Maybe even before the point he would even meet May?
Yeah but in the first episode he's taken to the lab by Prof. Birch so suddenly due to Pikachu being sick. So instead Ash gets to his lab without such a hurry, which both him and May get to his lab at almost the exact same time.
Makes sense.
I just got finished rewatching the other two. I’m so glad to see this series continue
Um...Team Rocket didn't steal lunch from Ash, they only stole the "sandwiches" from Brock. Ash not having food was just him being unprepared, and the Tailow still would have attacked cause they are territorial.

in true ash fashion, he uses anything other than blastoise to beat flannery
He got balls doing that, but I can respect his decision. Blastoise would have easily dominated but having 2 grass types battle against Flannery challenges him as a trainer. That scenario has more potential for growth.

after my 12th time rewatching this i just love the concept of ash without pikachu but im sort of scared for sinnoh

So i was right May would travel and meet Ash. I hope Dawn is the same.
Edit: I just realized Serena MIGHT not travel with Ash. Cause if no team rocket ruining everything then she won’t see him on tv she might if the news shows that the Hoenn champion is in Kalos.
