It was in 2007. School was out 1-2 weeks ago and my former, younger self was enjoying the summer holiday. Then, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl came out. They really changed that summer for me and I still have amazing memories of it. My friends and I would meet almost every single day, playing Pokemon together. We leveled up our Pokemon to lvl.100, traded and even came up with a lot of ideas about the Sinnoh lore (since the map of the gen 4 games was so amazing when it came to the variation of areas.). We even got into the whole GTS thing going on at the time, trying to complete the Pokedex and succeeding. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are holding very special memories of mine. It was that year, where I was just having fun with the Pokemon games the most and I could spend all that time with my best friends from childhood. Thanks for doing these challenges. They sure act like trips down memory lane in some sort.
I am surprised by how fast you flew through this run! It helps when Ash is competent for once. Though I am curious as to how you'll go about the next gen. The anime seems to jump from black and white to b2/w2 near the middle of the series. Also, here's a tip you didn't ask for: not sure if it counts for gen 5, but as far as I know, leaf storm can be an egg move, so that might help with snivy's moveset since you can't really use a level 43 snivy before the 2nd gym.
@Toori Baba TBF the only thing that could stop Ash was a trainer with a Darkrai and a Latios. I thi k that just goes to show how insanely good his Sinnoh team is.

These matches end up being surprisingly engaging. Blaze actually coming into effect on Chimchar was my favorite part - so appropriate to the DP anime and that also pretty much never happens in the games.
Yk, I always wondered why they made the difference between Gen 4's definitive version (platinum), and D/P with the gym leaders. But then it Dawned on me, why would you go to hearthome and NOT fight the gym leader before having to go to 2 other places. It just made a whole lot more sense
Diamond was my first Pokémon game since blue when I was in high school and I remember being sooooo undermatched when I got to cynthia, this game brings back a lot of good memories, awesome video!
For Unova, you might have to do a little research ahead of time because two of gym leaders Ash faces, Roxie and Cheren (also a rival in Black and White), were featured in the sequel Black 2 and White 2. Not to mention Ash doesn't face Iris or Drayden at all in the final gym battle and the first gym battle was a triple battle instead. Yes the Best Wishes Pokémon anime is the most convoluted of the whole series.
He battled Iris sometime within the anime but since the playthrough was supposed to reflect the events of the Pokémon anime, it's really difficult doing so without having to play the Unova sequel games as well.
@@GamerGrovyle I mean, they're grooming him to face Leon, literally the world's best trainer, he's going to need a team that's a bit more than just competitively viable

SupremeAngel unpopular opinion but I would say his final Alola team is his best. Naganadel, Melmetal, Incinaroar, Dusk Lycanrock and his godly rowlet. By the end of the series, his team had everything and in a head to head fight, I think he could beat his Sinnoh team. Same with his Kalos team although his greninja would be very hard to handle
I'm not sure how you'd even do Unova. Considering Ash didn't challenge the Dragon Gym in Best Wishes and instead fought Roxie the second Gym Leader of Black 2 and White 2 for his eighth badge, but otherwise went through the Black and White route. Also he fought all three Striation City Gym Leaders...
Oshawott actually came from Juniper, as opposed to Snivy and Tepig, who were both released pokemon that Ash caught, so it'll probably be Cilan (Pansage) vs. Ash (Oshawott), which is anime accurate, since it was 1 to 1 when it came down to the last fight against Cilan.

Floatzel got his time to shine at the end. The underdog turns hero with one icy punch.
Why the hell are you EVERYWHERE
Did, jack shit in against the gym leaders, but destroyed Cynthia's Garchomp. That felt straight out of the anime
Buizel*
27th Count of seeing you on Random UA-cam Videos.
The way he narrates the battles is unparalleled. Truly incredible voiceover much love
23:41. Raichu has soulless eyes.
raichu looks like the sun/moon protagonist
I am surprised by how fast you flew through this run! It helps when Ash is competent for once.
Though I am curious as to how you'll go about the next gen. The anime seems to jump from black and white to b2/w2 near the middle of the series. Also, here's a tip you didn't ask for: not sure if it counts for gen 5, but as far as I know, leaf storm can be an egg move, so that might help with snivy's moveset since you can't really use a level 43 snivy before the 2nd gym.
@Otacon464 I wondered about that. Just wasn't sure. Thanks for clarifying! ^^
Try doing more of the random anime episode challenges vs the champions of each game! It's funny to see what you end up with.
I feel like Ash used up all his brain cells in Sinnoh and a few in Hoenn leaving nothing in Black and White
Apparently he grew them back by Kalos.
Easily the best Ash team, man I love this season of the anime
@Toori Baba TBF the only thing that could stop Ash was a trainer with a Darkrai and a Latios. I thi k that just goes to show how insanely good his Sinnoh team is.
Gen 4 is perfect both anime and games, best season and Platinum is pokemon ultimate Game
@@mcparker8408 Although his Turtwig got done VERY dirty as it evolved. Honestly, if his Torterra had at least ONE Ground move under its belt, it probably would've lasted longer against Volkner and Paul's Drapion. I know people are gonna bring up Earthquake's ban in the anime, but wouldn't it be nice if Ash at least taught it Earth Power, and not Rock Climb?
pearl was my very first pokemon game as a kid after being a huge fan of the anime since johto journeys, so seeing you take out cynthia's team made me simultaneously nostalgic and really damn proud! great work once again F.J!
Levitate is Gengar’s only ability in Gen 4
This is such a great video that seriously needs more views. The attention to detail, the choices made, the suspense, and the greatest comeback for Buizel! This is an anipoke fan’s dream come true!!
These matches end up being surprisingly engaging. Blaze actually coming into effect on Chimchar was my favorite part - so appropriate to the DP anime and that also pretty much never happens in the games.
That fantina fight was legit plot armor lmao. The effort you put in these videos is seriously impressive
This guy could cure anyone's depression with his compliments
"The prospect of facing off with one anatomically unhinged pokemon with another"
Thank you, I now have milk up my sinuses.
Pretty sure there's a moment where he battled with Iris in the anime (just not as a gym leader)
He battled Iris sometime within the anime but since the playthrough was supposed to reflect the events of the Pokémon anime, it's really difficult doing so without having to play the Unova sequel games as well.
“This is hands down the best team ash has put together so far”
Kalos team: No
Galar team: not yet
I just checked and damn. His Galar team is looking to actually be Competitively viable (more or less)
@@GamerGrovyle I mean, they're grooming him to face Leon, literally the world's best trainer, he's going to need a team that's a bit more than just competitively viable
Nah fam sinho and alola team are more powerful overall. Galar is gonna be unbeatable tho...
The Annilators Kalos team is decent wdym, he had 2 dragons and 3 flying types, ash’s sinnoh team was the best because his team had more variety then Kalos ash
“As a young boy GROWS and mature...”
But Ash doesn’t age! 🤔
Welcome to the era of 11 year old Ash, it'll be 2 more decades before a region's age restrictions cause him to do it again.
16:50 It's another WTFFF moment! I'm honestly supriced u didn't plan this out. It gives me chills 😂😂
Ash (Oshawott), which is anime accurate, since it was 1 to 1 when it came down to the last fight against Cilan.
just read the caption, thank you so much for your work dude!! have fun with your 30 hour nap, you deserve it for the amazing content 😉
I love that my 2 reasons for having this as one of my fave generations are shown here
(Torterra and THAT PIANO)
Buizel beating Cynthia’s Garchomp is just fantastic. Anime writers couldn’t write a better ending
This is one of my favorite pokemon games
I love your series and I know you most likely used game sharks and cheats to make it happen but it doesn’t matter, the point is to re-inact all the battles of the show in the games. Thank you for making yet another vid and please keep making more.
I'm upset that Cyndaquil didn't evolve.
It would have taken like 10 seconds to fight some random anime mecha and evolve Cyndaquil, but no you didn't.
But for real great video keep up the work.
What a fun playthrough. Glad to see it was challenging yet still very possible.
And to see that buizel take down that Garchomp, warms this fellas heart.
Unova will be weird. It’ll just be krookodile and leavanny carrying everyone else
The Lucian battle had me screaming! Good stuff man!
"Using moves to judge Ash's team doesn't really work"
You imply it ever did. It didn't.
It did in Kanto.
Love your vids man, your commentary during the battles makes everything more hype, and the performances from Torterra, Infernape and Staraptor were incredible
I thought Ash didn't have any trouble with Crasher Wake, taking him down without losing a single pokemon.
I think Turtwig did go down, but it _was_ the only battle in any season of anime where he won with more than one pokemon standing.
Please keep these up with each region, loving it!
Gen 5 Ash is approaching and I’m scared.
Nothing better than a jelly donut
-A Truely wise man
Guys did you know that Ash is actually 11. In one of the special episodes aired with one of the Johto Movies Ash celebrated the day that him and Pikachu meet meaning that he had his birthday. The special episode was when Pikachu meet two Pichu's
9:39
The Diary Entry was a nice touch
7:00 The Pokemon games love equipping its regions 2nd gym leaders with a super powerful Pokemon. Whether it be Misty's Starmie, Bugsy's Scyther, or Gardenia's Roserade
Broly: What the hell
Brawly's ace doesn't fit the theme.
This is one of my favourite pokemon videos I've ever seen I absolutely love this I was on edge the whole time and I legit CHEERED when you beat the psychic elite four member with 11 hp left I STAN
Actually even the double K.O. against Maylene was very faithful to the anime as he wasn't able to win against her there as well ;)
Flint's Lopunny really saw Staraptor and went "forget battling, maybe i can get his number" i respect a gay bunny
Good luck in Unova, you'll need it.
I hope all is well given the current situation. I’ve loved all these videos and can’t wait for the next one! Keep it up!
I booted up ultra sun to check the pokedex entry for cranidos and I can confirm that if it is a typo it's a consistent one as in ultra sun he is also known as the 'Head Butt' Pokemon 😂
These vids just get better and better; love your work ETU!
Paul was Ash's best rival that guy was op I was gassed when Ash beat him
Well the only reason paul was defeated is infernape who always did great in the whole saga even as a chimchar it was boosted
If ash didn't have it on his team it would have been smashed by only using ninjask and drapion
@@laxusstrauss5945 if I had to change Paul's team for the match would have probably take out his froslass and Ninjask and replace them with Torterra and Gliscor
idk i thnik it would have been cool to see Ash's torterra go head to head with Paul's as a sort of apprentice v mentor type of battle, and instead of making Ash's one crap i think it could of been good if they drew as Torterra is a powerhouse but ash's is dissappointing and it would have been nice for him to either win or draw instead of lose eveytime he was sent out
and give ash's Gliscor a rematch against Paul's for revenge
@@tomcooney2842 dude ash's torterra wasn't crap
The reason why it always lost is because it faced powerhouses
Bertha's ace even with the type advantage elite four are boosted in the anime
Drapion was a beast + torterra did more damage to it than staraptor and buizel
As for electivire it was ash's fault he should have switched because of ice punch
It would have been better if infernape wants up against electivire then torterra massacred both jolteon and luxray which both doesn't have any effective move against it
Great video, love how you snuck in some of the Bakugan OST.
I wonder how you would have faired against Cynthia in platinum. Her togekiss is a damn monster.
Gliscor with Stone Edge isn't bad against Togekiss, especially because Gliscor is faster.
Still watching but as soon as you first mentioned how much Ash has grown all I could think about was how Unova Ash was going to put you to tears
6:23 - Ash pops Gardenia's cherry.
I’m glad more youtubers see what masterpieces of music explorers of time and darkness contained, almost everyone uses music from those games
dear diary I caught I gligar today Brock said I smart :). Is my favorite massage
This was an excellent video, I’m enjoying these series, they are so cool, nice job man! Keep doing this! 😊
