Part 3 of this DIM DIY How To series. Installing spiral locks is only easy if you know the technique . This video covers installing the rings on the pistons and attaching the rods to the pistons including the technique for installing spiral locks.
We also take balancing to the next level for the backyard tree mechanics using a spreadsheet to match up rods and pistons combinations for balancing and so that the rod journals and piston tops are oriented correctly to each other. We cover positioning each assembling with regard to their final crankshaft journal positions as they will be installed on in the engine.
