  • DIM DIY How To video on what you need to do to balance Dodge 5.9 to 408 stroker kit including the Install of a Special Damper and- flexplate.
    The SCAT Magnum 408 stroker is internally balanced. The Dodge 5.9 crankshaft is not. We go over using the Dodge 5.2 damper and flexplate. It is possible to modify the 5.9 flexplate but not the damper.
    Using a 4.7/5.2 Damper - The smaller Dodge Magnum small blocks are internally balanced so their damper has no external weights on them. It is a 2 piece design. A separate serpentine pulley bolts on to it. The 5.9 is 1 piece, It can not be used on an internally balanced crankshaft,
