  • This DIM DIY How To video covers primary installation of 2001 Dakota 46re transmission mated to a Dana 300 into our 1980 Scout II. We say primary as we may move the cross member, mounts, or it as needed later. The engine, headers, accessories will determine final location.
We can't use the original 2wd extension mounts as they are different than ones needed for our 4x4 conversion. We want to keep the existing driveshafts if we can. The needed angles and heights will also factor in.
We also go over making sure the convertor is fully installed using Dodge specs. Please leave questions or suggestions in comments. Give us a thumbs up or subscribe to get a heads up on our other DIM DIY How To's. Thanks.
