  • In this DIM DIY How to video we fabricate engine brackets and motor mounts for under $5 to install a 2001 Dodge Dakota 5.9/408 into a 1980 Scout II. We're replacing the 440 engine that was in it.
We fabricate both top mounts from a $5 rubber mallet. We fabricate the bottom mounts from $4.99 automotive rubber expansion plugs. We made the engine brackets out of 3/8 by 3" steel (whopping $15).
