      One of my favourite comments in a decade of running the channel 😂 but regarding the purple you can see it more in my CHERNOBYL Gaz 66 video, it's a full paint vid so you'll need to search (or watch the lot it's up to you) but while I was painting it I just felt it needed something to enrich the colour and I tried it and just like that it became a go to for boosting the colour

      So often I see newer modellers go for a one-pass attempt at rust, layers are definitely the key

    Jon, I have said this before, and I will say it again, you have the best "learning" videos anywhere. Your delivery is clear, concise and informative. It is a pleasure watching and listening to your videos. I have watched other UA-cam "how to" videos on modelling and they are almost painful to sit through.

      Well I won't comment on the other stuff out there but what a great compliment, thank you very much. It takes a lot of effort to produce videos and it's kind of nerve jangling putting myself out there so reading stuff like that is a huge boost and I really appreciate it

      If I can do it anyone can! Get the camera out. If you're hoping it will pay the bills though mate I've got some bad news lol. I'm putting these things out for about 0.05p per hour, but the kick from comments and interaction, knowing you're putting back into the hobby, it's a real buzz.

    Great video! Going through a lot of 3d-printed terrain. Going to try and boil down some of your steps to essentials to get a large volume of terrain done. Any suggestions on what steps to focus on for speed/volume of models painted? Thanks!

    Can you elaborate more on the wet blending technique?

    • @ScaleModelMedic
      @ScaleModelMedic  3 роки тому +2

      I can sure, basically apply a colour of paint in a thin layer and while it's still wet take a different colour and paint on top. The paints will blend on the actual model, it's a technique used for smooth blends on miniatures. I use it however to transition smoothly between shades of rust, and I use all sorts of brush motions and even sponges, plus the addition of further water to endure it blends smoothly. I recently did this extensively on the bucket of my Hitachi excavator which is on my channel, check out part 1 towards the end and you'll see what I mean. Maybe I could do another short video on it.

    I'm a bloke with more scrapyard primed round bases for orks than you can shake a stick at. They're not painted rusty yet buy my basic plan was gw leadbelcher for the metal and then apply the rust, I bought all kinds of rust paints MiG etc and just dunno where to start... I hope this video gives me some ideas.

      It's all about building it up in layers, as is with most weathering, look at real world photographs and just take your time until you reach the result you want...

      Hi Chris the airbrush this time round was a Badger patriot 105 with a 0.5mm needle and nozzle. This is a hosepipe of an airbrush, I typically use it for large area coverage but it lays down nice and smooth paint

    Good afternoon mukka ! Are you OK? Family ? Kids getting excited for Christmas? That makes my Christmas for me seing the excitement and happiness in their eyes. Can I just say Jon, I'm sorry in advance... I Ramble . Im a Vet 2x Iraq 1x Terry Taliban. I was brought up with Star Wars , Star Wars figures made it for me. God is it , very old Toy Shop called " Jolly Green Giant " , whatever anyway and I used to run off from my Dad mainly as mum did one as soon as the opportunity presented itself !! , never think Woman are daft !!! I was so excited and I'd quite often be sick in the car on the way . You didn't really need to or wanted to know that.
    So I'd get in door as at that time I wasn't very big and the doors had those sensitive things that opens the door automatically, so I then had to wait for my Ode man to turn up and finnish that yearly , really well a couple of minutes but ifs like " Twisting up " when your fighting with someone and you've pressed your personal alarm and comms set alarm off and then send the First Response to your destination. It feels like hours and days to hear the sirens and sound of key chains and the click of the Response Officers Assps ( Batons ) .the adrenalin you feel from knowing your really struggling here on my own and " attempts to bending him up were nearly 0 to none witn him/her/" Y.Os etc being 6ft by 6ft wide.( Holiday camps here so gym 3- times a day, eating noodles and tins of Tuna all day ,and if they were gang members or the " Daddy" of the Wing he'd have boys everywhere in the Knick and in the Kitchens you would be getting, chicken, Porridge fish etc smuggled back to the Wing and House block these dipsticks were housed. So your going struggle even if you were double his size etc. Anyway back to the actual comment i started in 1914 !!!! Ha 🥱🥱🥱😫😫😫💤💤💤💤😱😱☠☠☠💀💀💀💩💩💩💩💩 sorry. When I started back into our favourite Hobby , you were the first voice and on Humbrol to. There's plenty of folks out there but I always looked at channel first , was gutted when you took a break. Great to see you back and your videos with your techniques are so good. Very clear so keep em coming mukka . Stay safe Jon and family and have a brill Christmas. Regards Steve.
