Respray rims, Sills & Bonnet - Final Episode, Ford Transit Connect project
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 лип 2017
- This is the last installment of the Transit Connect Project, lots of time was invested into this van but the results and overall standard of the van made it worth while.
In the finish there was nothing left to do and the van flew through the DOE (Commerical test in Ireland)
It has now got to a new home and I am on to looking for my next one.
I hope you enjoyed these videos and seeing the before and after.
Thanks for watching

well done you a great job.
Thanks David 👍
Tidy job fella
Taking the tyres off the rims gives a great result. Nothing l hate more than overspray on tyres!
Hi, excuse my ignorance but can you restrain the rims without removing tyre? Also not a lot of detail on the process.
That was a big rust hole originally, scary how quick that developed , I have a 07 transit which is just starting to show rust around the cills and arch rims -
It is a common issue but with the right repair, nothing to be concerned about as the rest of the under body on these are solid :)
Are you going to get yours repaired or wait till it gets worse?
Gerard Burke I'll get it done , the underbody has be sprayed in 3m underbody protection as have the wheel well tubs so I'm not worried about that - I need to get the van booked in somewhere to get the cosmetics bits sorted - I've always wondered why Swb transits seem to sandblast the paint With the aerodynamics flicking grit on the rear arches , but the longer versions don't have this problem
& is it in fact the aerodynamics that cause that issue in SWB Transits or is it a sealing issue in the wheel arches? That's very interesting, the connects have a lower part on the 1/4 panel that gets chipped from stones etc.. but that does not rust through like the sills just does the same as a bonnet with stone chips.
How’s it going mate I have a 2004 ford connect tdci t220 lx keeps putting heater plugs on whilst driving then goes into limp mode then cuts out but starts right away again any ideas thanks in advance
I have this problem. took to a garage today. bad news. fuel pump breaking down causes shite to go into the fuel lines, injectors. disrupts engine heater plugs somehow. £1400 job I was told: replace injectors, pump, remove tank, clear fuel lines. maybe I'm being had but that's what I was told.
how do you remove the front plastic arches im wrapping one of these next week and need to strip them off... they look like they just pop off.
Have you removed them since or found your info?
Lovely job can u do my transit connect I will pay it looks amazing
Thank You Chris, I would like to Chris but I live in Australia at the moment :)
