Nice video, been wondering about getting the aluminium trim in black too. Subbed, always nice to see someone else doing mods to a lovely S3 :) For the inside rings they also sale some already red, pretty cheap too.
When i was removing the air vent the spring flew out of it… can i put it back in? The click sound that it mades doesnt work also now… can it be fixed if i put the spring back in?
I just used the red plastidip with some plastidip glossifier after. Pretty happy with turn out. You just need to go heavy with the red in the later coats.
@ChampagneS3 really? Do you not have to touch them to adjust flow rate like on my TT? If you do, do you adjust the flow very often? I can't get that stuff stay more than a few months with my wife always touching them.
@@johnmichaels4330 I'll be honest. I don't touch them very often, so that may contribute to it lasting a along as it did lol. But I do like how plsstidip is "reversible" if I change my mind about the color choice later.
@ChampagneS3 yeah, that is a huge plus. That's why I use it on the emblems and such. Makes sense to use inside if you don't have to touch it a lot. I see how that works.
Genius!! I know what I’m doing at the weekend. Always disliked the silver surround. Thanks for the vid!
Happy to help!

Thanks! Appreciate the support! The rings I've seen for sale unfortunately seem to work only on certain vent styles especially for the PFL.
@@ChampagneS3 Yep, ordered some and they did not fit lol :D
I have an A3 sportback 2006 but the ring won’t come off is that possible or do i have to try harder?
Nice job

Yes it can. The same thing happened to me and it's very easy to adjust it to get that click. I believe I showed it in the video
@@ChampagneS3 sorry with al that stress and excitement i didnt watch the full video thanks you are a legend
@@LetsgoSino 😂😂 no problems at all. I'm glad the video helped you out 👍
Does middle ring come off as well?
Yes you can take it off as well with a very thin flat head screwdriver 👍
Is there a way to get the paint completely of ?
You could probably use a paint thinner to strip the paint off
Aceton and cotton buds
Nice video man!
Dime los del.año.2012 Audi A3 8p no se puede desmontar
Is it possible to remove the black ring without pulling the whole vent out ?
You definitely can if you prefer to only paint that part
@@ChampagneS3 ok perfect. because on my A3 the outer ring is already black ^^
@@J_A_N_N_I_K_ nice you're already set!
What colour did you use? any idea what the OEM RED is?

Thank good video
I did it and only hear one click when it’s open what is wrong?
Try to remove and resecure it. Maybe it's not aligned properly
Plastidip doesnt last long if its being touched and cleaned. Just paint the damn things
It's lasted me till this video so not too bad. You can paint it however you like, vinyl wrap it even.

@ChampagneS3 like your videos btw. Keep it up.
