Absolutely love your content!!! I have just bought a 2006 A3 Sportback 2.0 TDi (BKD - 140hp) which I am planning to strip down completely and rebuild and modify both mechanically and cosmetically along the way. They are such fantastic vehicles with so many options for modification. Really looking forwards to your future videos on the 2.0 TDi. Keep up the amazing work.
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement and I'm glad you are finding these videos useful. You have good taste in cars. There are so many mods and upgrades for those 2.0 Tdi engines.
My husband bought an a3 s line 2.0tdi 140hp had limp mode issues but now all sorted, it’s now running hybrid turbo stage 2 remap with 3inch exhaust updated injectors and s3 intercooler stage 1 clutch and induction kit so much fun does puff a bit of black smoke on full throttle but no rolling coal Hp is now around 220-230hp and 475 Torq
I have a 2008 8P type quattro 3.2 vr6. Tuned to about 265-270 on 93 octane. As for mods. a dogbone insert, 24mm rear sway, S3 front arm rear mounts, ECS tuning intake tube, an ITG drop in filter, DSG alloy filter housing and Powerflex front sway bar insulators. Running the new Falken Aklimates now but haven't had them long enough for any opinions. Prior to that I've run Sumitomo HTR P02 in front and P03 in the rear. They have worn well and the P03 have worn better than the prior model P02. Both grip well dry or wet, wear nicely and stop better on snow/ice than many all-seasons. I ran Sumitomo Ice Edge full snows without studs on extra wheels for a few years and the last two years since they weren't good enough for a bad winter so I used them for 12k miles all year round and they wore surprisingly well and even. All the wheels are factory 5 spoke alloy 17".
I have a 2006 2.0 l fsi, quattro, 147kw. Not much work, just standard job and service. Change back springs this winter, car feels almost new to drive, fast also!
I recently have bought a 2018 Audi a3 1.6 as hatchback! Purchased a honeycomb grill and Maxton splitter to go on it😁 What would you recommend for performance upgrades and for the sound of the car?
I use ebc yellow stuff for the front and they're more designed for street and track use, a little dusty but they have great stopping power. I use red in the rear which is high preforamance street pads but not quite as aggressive as yellow. Great dust management and still really good stopping power. You should try ebc again on your next set of pads. I love mine and the yellows have been on for about 20k miles and still have atleast 10k more miles left if not more
brilliant video , i have an Audi S3 8P, 2010 in sprint blue, with a K&N washable filter , it breaths harder at high rpm , otherwise its stock 265 bhp, i feel its quick enough without a stage 1 remap, but i will be fitting a turbo delete muffler kit later and may look again at soft poly bushes £300 , the brakes are really good , may replace the the rear calipers , and rear shocks , carry on with the great work and knowledge you share !
I’ve got a a3 2.0bkd I’ve spent months doing research but your videos are really helpful. I want to change the turbo myself but I still don’t know what one to get. There is so much choice but I just want low end torque with minimum modifications
I have a 2015 A3 1.8t FWD, so far I have ecs intake, muffler delete, resonator delete, and need advice on mods. Tires spin a bunch so looking at a dogbone insert.
I would personally go catback for sound, and the Miltek is the one I've got my eye on, it sounds really nice and not too boomy. I discuss resonators and mufflers in this video ua-cam.com/video/bynTIZ_jpFM/v-deo.html
I’m rockin a 11 a3 tdi and am lookin to get new suspension all the way around. What brands would you recommend? It’s a daily and do about 50 miles each way. Any advice much appreciated
A decent set of coilovers would work wonders. Bilstein, BC, KW, Koni etc all work really well, just don't drop it too low. When I try a set on mine I'll report back so we can compare.
In your experience, would there be a point to a stage 1 remap on the Pre-lift 8v 1.4 tfsi 125hp? I've looked around and it seems they do 15-20 hp at most :) I'm not sure whether this will be a noticable difference.
Agree on the stiffness of s-line suspension. I always thought coilovers would make it even worse given that once you go coilover you are then tempted to lower the ride height as well. What coilovers would you recommend to reduce stiffness and improve ride comfort?
Bilstein and KW are the only 2 I've had experience with, both outperformed s-line for handling and give better ride quality in my humble opinion, just don't wind them down for a massive drop, about 20mm over sline or 40mm over stock usually works best.
312mm brakes with ebc brake pads is really what is enough 😉 i will go for bigger turbo on TDI and pass over 200hp and have fun 😅 and you have really cheap pocket rocket (fuel consumption) and massive torque,im currently owning 1,4 tfsi 180hp,but had many 1.9 TDI projects ass well,mk5 1.9 waiting for some boost soon 😉
Please help! I have an audi a3 pd140 with a start up issue. After being left overnight, first start of the day will take around 15 seconds cranking before the engine starts. Idles limpy for a few seconds then smooths out, every start up for the rest of the day is perfect. Any ideas, please and thank you. Also the videos are great and full of good information (hence why im here) people could learn a lot from them. Thanks again.
Could be a number of things. Check for fault codes this will usually give more of an idea of whats going on. If the car doesn't see 250rpm it will not supply fuel, a weak battery, or dodgy starter motor can cause this. After the car has run, oil has circulated, everything is warmer and the battery has typically had a boost, so the car is more likely to achieve the required starting RPMs. Other issues could be the fuel injectors silted up, fuel filter, blocked EGR/ASV assembly. Check for parasitic battery drain, especially if the battery checks out as ok or passable.
Fantastic video, thank you ! I would really appreciate if you could mention some of the decent tunning boxes. I have an A3 35 TFSI (8Y - 2021/2022), and i would be really interested in getting a "proper" tunning box, that would increase the HP and Torque, as well as decrease the fuel consumption.
I used the one from TDi tuning on my 1.4 TFSi and was quite impressed with it. Fuel economy gains are not stunning, but it did help a little although I tend to have it on the performance setting most of the time. There is a review of this on my channel.
What an awesome video! 2.0 diesel owner here, had a snapped spring it was hell. Currently dealing with DPF issues due to a remap, also hell😂 Any advice on what I could do to max the power/reliability?
I know you've found the video link already but for anyone else reading this the 2.0 TDi engine tuning & mods are covered here ua-cam.com/video/4D9bfhngKGc/v-deo.html
I like This video you explain everything nicely I have a audi a3 1.4tfsi 2008 and this video has gave me more knowledge now I understand I don’t need to over power the mods because the car wount be able to handle this need to just make it medium as it’s not a powerful engine I was wondering what exhaust can I buy for a audi a3 tfsi 1.4 2008 am confused my dad said if you buy the wrong one it’s a big problem again Also I was wondering do you think if I put a new exhaust and done a air filter and done stag1 will the insurance be crazy sky high or will be alright ? Thank-you so much .
Thanks for your kind words of encouragment and support. I'll be doing a video on the 1.4 TFSi very soon so watch this space. Catback exhausts will not affect the engine either way IMHO. Downpipes and sports cats will help the turbo spin up more quickly though. Insurance depends on who you are with and I would recommend seeking a specialist for modified cars and you should get a decent rate with all the mods declared. Adrian Flux and Chris Knott are pretty good places to start in the Uk.
Inductions kits do make a difference but it’s all about location of the filter. As you said if you start sucking in more hot or warmer air it take power away. I like to use cone filters and I locate it as low as possible to catch all the fresh it can get and as we know heat rises so why do all tuners instal them so high in the engine bay
Interesting observation. There is a fear that when cited lower there is a risk of sucking water into the engine. IMHO a properly designed cold air feed will not do this, especially if boxed off slightly from the engine bay and wheel well areas.
Are they really enough mods for a Audi A3 1.4 8V? I’ve got a custom tune, downpipe and custom exhaust. Thinking of a cold air intakes but here in SA one has little choice, what brand of intake would you go for?
Intakes have not really made any more power in my experiences, the stock airboxes flow really well. I drop in a K&N Cotton gauze panel filter instead of the full induction kit on most cars I buy. K&N & Pipercross are brands I have used and are very well made.
I have a 2006 audi a3 2.0T, i have a stage 1 tune done, what else could i do, to make a little more power, and still be able to keep the reliability. Also, how much power could i handle on stock internals?
The DSG is usually the limiting factor but these are pretty strong, many of the guys are talking about them handling 400lbft of torque. With a remap and performance cams & fuel upgrades (Autotech High pressure fuel pump) and with the right turbo you should see around 300hp fairly easily and reliably. The remap is quite a cost effective mod, I discovered that pushing beyond this requires quite a bit more cash and outlay. Turbo upgrades are also worth considering, if yours has the KO3s then a KO4 will give you more headroom and these are readily available in the recon and breakers yard markets. Personally I would aim for around 260hp ballpark for cost and reliability purposes.
Yes I am working on one for you, please stay tuned. A lot of things changed in 2012 as far as engine design went. For now the Gen 1 & Gen 2 engine guide should be a useful starting point ua-cam.com/video/BrHYwmngYUc/v-deo.html
There is little point IMO but the undersides and mounting points are pretty much the same across the A3s of similar years, but the rear bumper and diffusers are likely to be different. The diesel exhaust flows really well on these, the headers are different but I guess you are talking about doing a cat back setup. Sound wise I'm not a fan of the 2.0TDi exhaust through a loud resonating exhaust setup, mine sounded like a tractor at the best of times. Are you hoping for power or better sound?
Is it modified in any way? Perhaps a remap will improve the fuel economy. What figures are you getting? It shouldn't be too much lower than the factory figures.
A simple remap on that should give you around 45hp more power and 55lbft of torque for max economy a remap of around 30hp should be in the sweet spot for power vs economy and be better than the stock setup. It has the EDC17C64 ecu on it.
I have a 2007 a3 2.0t. Fwd with duel auto. Looking for a good tune if anyone knows who can remapping the ecu and tcu. Also looking for intercooler upgrade ideas and turbo upgrade ideas. Also down pipe and up pipe ideas.
I’ve got a a3 2006 1.6 fsi petrol with just an exhaust. Any recommendations for performance as well as any recommendations for modifying lights? I want to swap front and back to newer cleaner versions but never know if it’ll fit.
Unfortunately the 1.6s aren’t great for getting more power out of. I’ve got a 1.6 MPI and there’s very little you can do, aside from the usual (sport exhaust, intake manifold etc) without serious money involved. And if that’s the case, you may as well invest in a 8p S3 because you’ll never get the value back on a 1.6. I’m considering saving and upgrading to a 3.2 sport model. N/A VR6, 6 speed manual and Quattro. Only downside is fuel economy, and that’s just something you have to learn to live with sometimes
The manifolds and some plumbing (pipework) are different. As the same block handles each variant of turbo if you get a full turbo complete with manifold and pipes it will just bolt on. Mapping should ideally be adjusted at the same time, but lots of people report the K04 running on the stock k03 map (with a few minor issues).
The EA888 engine blocks are identical between the 1.8 and 2.0, it's the pistons and crank that make the difference in HP. SO the manifolds are the same, the heads are the same (generally speaking but were some variations between VAG brands, with port sizes and pcv system design). There were also transverse and longitudinal engines which have different down pipe angles coming from them. Your best option is to check part numbers match on the parts you want to swap in these are usually listed on sites selling these parts. One part is often identified with a few different codes, but if codes match, then you have a "bolt on replacement".
@@torquecars I’ve still been struggling to find many turbos that are a direct fit for the EA888 that’s longitudinal however I have found many transverse ones. You mentioned about transverse engines having different downpipe angles. How much of a problem do you think it could be?
Just got an 2014 a3 quattro 1.8 tfsi s tronic because i cant aford an s3 or even an sline model of mine haha 😆 but im not all that educated on modern audi motors after the mk 1 audi a3 and tt i lost touch with them so im just putting feelers out to see what brands and makea have decent bolt ons for my type of car nothing cary as its still primarily a family / shopping trolly motor hence the automatic gear box but id like to make it sound good and shift when i want to put foot down from time to time i hope o can get it mapped but just on the sports mode and have it close to stock on the eco and comfort mode
Really I just want to know what difference is between the 1.8 the 2.0 tfsi and the s3 as far as I've heard there all the same running gear and blocks just mainly differences is the main power components such as like you said bigger turbos , injectors , better duel pumps , bigger pistons in the 2.0s better breaks and suspension , bigger free flowing exhausts , if I could just plug ans play most s3 parts on it that would be great haha 😄
I did an article covering this engine, but I would certainly recommend a remap and possibly a turbo/fuel system upgrade if you want to max out your power gains. www.torquecars.com/volkswagen/1-9-tdi-tuning.php
@@torquecars my brother knows a lot more about cars than me and he said the same thing to me. To put in a mk4 turbo and mk4 Downpipe and map it to somewhere around 180bhp , do you think that’s a good idea
These are great solid engines and will still give good economy even after you've hiked up the power. Choose the turbo wisely a lot of rebuilt turbos out there are just cleaned up with no parts replaced. Get a mapper who can custom map for your new turbo and you'll be happy with the end result. Even just doing a remap on the stock engine will give a decent power gain to play with.
Just bought a 2010 Audi A3 Quattro, it is automatic (unfortunately :( ). I was curious, I have about 2 grand to put into the car. I want to do the tune obviously based on your recommendation. I was wondering what might you suggest with the remaining 1500 or so.
A hard pipe kit, sports catalyst and better flowing intercooler (if you drive it hard quite a lot) are my preferred power mods on these blocks, or for better handling and more fun, invest in a decent suspension setup, the stock suspension is quite hard and crashy on these, but it makes it a fun car to take on the track.
@@torquecars sorry i am ignorant....i get the intercooler part, but what do you mean a hard pipe kit....are you talking about replacing underhood piping with metal piping....like the turbo outlet pipe, could you tell me what pipes would be replaced or point me to a place where i can see an example or a kit to buy, also wasnt sure what you mean by he sports catalyst..........also custious for the suspension would you be weary of like a $400 ebay kit of coilovers? They are from Germany and have good reviews i do notice already what you're talking about with the hard and crashy ride. Again really appreciate all the feedback and help
Is it ok/safe to only do the APR ECU tune and not do the TCU tune along with it? Are there any other TCU tunes that are cheaper than the APR one? Thanks, Hernando
It is possible but you really want the transmission and shift points to match up to the cars new torque band, without this it will feel flat in places and in some cases you might get error codes or the transmission reaches its torque limits and things get backed off. I'll try and find alternative suppliers for you, are you UK based?
Stage 1 IE tune for TCU and ECU with a CAI made a hell of a difference, I have the Stage 2 Downpipe from CTS in the garage, waiting til i clean it up so I can install. I was having trouble finding turbo kits for the 8p 2.0 TFSI Quattro. Any suggestions or links?
Improved efficiency, in real terms you hit a power figure at a lower RPM. It doesn't follow on ALL engines but most will gain MPG, and certainly all the VW diesel engines I've had mapped have shown a significant MPG improvement. If you drive it like you stole it then you won't see an improvement, you'll be burning more fuel and hitting much higher power levels. But in everyday driving you'll see both power and economy gains.
Hi, new sub here. I have a 2016 A3 1.8t. Upgraded from a RaceChip tune box to Unitronic Stage 1 ECU and TCU. IE carb legal intake, I'm in California. Turbo inlet and Turbo muffler delete. Also have APR coil packs and charge pipes and hoses. Would love to do an intercooler but it's a bitch to change. Next I removed the muffler and replaced the resonator with a performance resonator and added quad tips. Have Maxton Design splitter, side splitters and defuser, gloss black on monsoon Grey car. Looks great and fun to drive. Probably making around 250hp and 280ft. Do you think the turbo will hold up? It's an IS12.
There are a couple of videos that cover this engine although they are quite rare compared to the other ones available. ua-cam.com/video/F-EWmqH5GTM/v-deo.html Tuning tips ua-cam.com/video/VxrqfglCaag/v-deo.html Common problems to look out for
Which engine does it have the 1.6 1.9 or 2.0 TDi? In most cases a remap is great. I did some engine specific videos which should give you a good starting point.
A simple remap on that should give you around 45hp more power and 55lbft of torque for max economy a remap of around 30hp should be in the sweet spot for power vs economy and be better than the stock setup. It has the EDC17C64 ecu on it. I will be doing a video on this engine in the near future as a few have asked about it.
my is 2014 2.0 TDI 185 hp Quattro.. DSG haldex.. ... i give my mom 2.0 TDI 2006 Quattro... and I miss hand gear changing and Torsen quattro, where I was in most controll in driwing and not "stupid" dsg or haldex.. ok. i understand and plan is to modiffy ( tune) dsg to work propperly, my question is about haldex and some mode on it.. I find fiev options to instal module and contro in app.. pls help someone ??
Definitely consider a remap. You want a little more mid range power for a daily driver. Avoid large peaks and make sure the power doesn't come on at too low a point in the rpm range.
So which model of A3 do you have? Have you done any mods to it? What do you recommend doing? What would you like to see me cover in future videos when it comes to the Audi A3?
I have the 2L TDI, Not done anything to it yet other than a wrap, not sure what to do really. I'm thinking about a remap for fuel efficiency. What do you recommend?
2018 A3 quattro 220bhp. (US sedan). Eibach lowering springs - Eibach 20mm spacers all round. Milltek non resonated exhaust - custom 3" downpipe. K&N intake filter. APR stage 1 ECU & TCU tune - now 320bhp and 460 torque. My car is black and I've had a dechrome - now all black. Standard 18inch wheels painted matt grey with P3 all weather tyres - I live in Ukraine and need all season in the winter.
@BRIGZY09 I had the 2.0 TDi BKD, a remap is an essential, and even the higher power maps will generally provide much better fuel economy. I rate Revo, Awesome GTi, Celtic Tuning, JFA Automotive, Darkside developments and TDi Tuning. Where are you based these are mainly UK providers? Aim for a modest 30hp bump and you should be right in there with maxed out economy, decent power and retaining factory reliability. Is yours the 140 or 170? I will be doing a video soon on the 2.0 TDi as it was one of my favourites and there are quite a few options out there.
@Alan Ahern That sounds like a really good spec, the Quattro really helps get the power down, especially on the wet roads. I noted the A4 LeMans alloys were slightly wider than the 18inch A3 versions, so I didn't need to use the spacers, they fitted the arches nicely. Are you planning any more upgrades?
I'd be curious to know your thoughts on those SAFE power limits, there are so many different opinions out there, I was really conservative on this video about them which I can understand the criticism and I know there will always be someone out there claiming to get 5000hp "without any problems" but I appreciate very much your support and opiions, after all we are all here to learn including myself.
Poly on a fast STREET car are unnecessary. Poly will never last as long as Rubber and cannot take sheer force , CTS Turbo sells new motor mounts that are 60 durometer voidless rubber. Those, with a 034 billet 80 duro rubber dogbone mount, makes for the perfect ride. Mark4 R32
Thanks for the support great tips and encouragement my friend I'm glad you've found us. Poly bushes have advanced much in recent years with many different grades, but you are right, on a street car decent rubber ones are usually the best option. I'll be discussing dog bone mounts in a future video as these can be quite problematic when they start to go.
Thanks for taking the time to comment, it is much appreciated and I will adjust my advice slightly in the next video on the 2.0 Turbo. How interesting, but bear in mind it is hard doing a general video like this to cover all A3 engine types as there are so many exceptions. Looking at that video it is interesting to see a 10hp gain on 2.0TFSi stock engine, not massive but a gain nonetheless. But these kits do come into their own when you have other mods as the stock setup is really becoming a restriction. In my experiences most standard turbo engines will gain around 3-5% more power which isn't much in the grand scheme of things and I personally find it hard to justify the cost of an induction kit as a power mod, compared to say a remap which is 1.5 times more expensive but gives 30-40% more power. NA engines are generally about half this power gain or worse, and they tend to lose some low end torque. The other problem is when the engine bay is closed up you are often sucking in much warmer air than you would with a standard intake, or properly designed intake with a cold air feed. (The video shows it shielded from the engine bay which is a good thing in my book, some kits out there are not shielded or boxed in.)

Good points nicely made.
@@torquecars Thank you, much appreciated ! :)
I like This video you explain everything nicely I have a audi a3 1.4tfsi 2008 and this video has gave me more knowledge now I understand I don’t need to over power the mods because the car wount be able to handle this need to just make it medium as it’s not a powerful engine
I was wondering what exhaust can I buy for a audi a3 tfsi 1.4 2008 am confused my dad said if you buy the wrong one it’s a big problem again
Also I was wondering do you think if I put a new exhaust and done a air filter and done stag1 will the insurance be crazy sky high or will be alright ? Thank-you so much .
Thanks for your kind words of encouragment and support. I'll be doing a video on the 1.4 TFSi very soon so watch this space. Catback exhausts will not affect the engine either way IMHO. Downpipes and sports cats will help the turbo spin up more quickly though. Insurance depends on who you are with and I would recommend seeking a specialist for modified cars and you should get a decent rate with all the mods declared. Adrian Flux and Chris Knott are pretty good places to start in the Uk.
@@torquecars thank-you so much my friend
currently got a 1.6mpi A3 08 power wise what can i do?
Inductions kits do make a difference but it’s all about location of the filter. As you said if you start sucking in more hot or warmer air it take power away.
I like to use cone filters and I locate it as low as possible to catch all the fresh it can get and as we know heat rises so why do all tuners instal them so high in the engine bay
Interesting observation. There is a fear that when cited lower there is a risk of sucking water into the engine. IMHO a properly designed cold air feed will not do this, especially if boxed off slightly from the engine bay and wheel well areas.
great A3 content.😉.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the encouragement my friend.
It has an automatic dual clutch transmission.
2013 Audi A3 1.8tfsi SE please do a video on that
Yes I am working on one for you, please stay tuned. A lot of things changed in 2012 as far as engine design went.
For now the Gen 1 & Gen 2 engine guide should be a useful starting point ua-cam.com/video/BrHYwmngYUc/v-deo.html
can i put rs3 exhaust system into my 2.0 tdi?
There is little point IMO but the undersides and mounting points are pretty much the same across the A3s of similar years, but the rear bumper and diffusers are likely to be different. The diesel exhaust flows really well on these, the headers are different but I guess you are talking about doing a cat back setup. Sound wise I'm not a fan of the 2.0TDi exhaust through a loud resonating exhaust setup, mine sounded like a tractor at the best of times. Are you hoping for power or better sound?

I've got a 2016, 1.6tdi a3 sline nomatter how I drive its awful fuel economy had it fully serviced any suggestions ?
Where are you based and I'll try and recommend a few companies I've heard good things about.
I’ve got a a3 2006 1.6 fsi petrol with just an exhaust. Any recommendations for performance as well as any recommendations for modifying lights? I want to swap front and back to newer cleaner versions but never know if it’ll fit.
Same any luck???
Unfortunately the 1.6s aren’t great for getting more power out of. I’ve got a 1.6 MPI and there’s very little you can do, aside from the usual (sport exhaust, intake manifold etc) without serious money involved. And if that’s the case, you may as well invest in a 8p S3 because you’ll never get the value back on a 1.6.
I’m considering saving and upgrading to a 3.2 sport model. N/A VR6, 6 speed manual and Quattro. Only downside is fuel economy, and that’s just something you have to learn to live with sometimes
Hello,
Do the k04’s bolt straight in place of a k03?
The manifolds and some plumbing (pipework) are different. As the same block handles each variant of turbo if you get a full turbo complete with manifold and pipes it will just bolt on. Mapping should ideally be adjusted at the same time, but lots of people report the K04 running on the stock k03 map (with a few minor issues).
I see, I own a 1.8 ea888 gen.1 with a K03 and I’d like to put a hybrid k04 in but I’m unsure of if the manifold for my 1.8 is the same as the 2.0.
@@torquecars thanks for clearing that up I appreciate your help!
@@torquecars I’ve still been struggling to find many turbos that are a direct fit for the EA888 that’s longitudinal however I have found many transverse ones. You mentioned about transverse engines having different downpipe angles. How much of a problem do you think it could be?
I broke a spring on my 8p s line and just put coilovers on it
Just got an 2014 a3 quattro 1.8 tfsi s tronic because i cant aford an s3 or even an sline model of mine haha 😆 but im not all that educated on modern audi motors after the mk 1 audi a3 and tt i lost touch with them so im just putting feelers out to see what brands and makea have decent bolt ons for my type of car nothing cary as its still primarily a family / shopping trolly motor hence the automatic gear box but id like to make it sound good and shift when i want to put foot down from time to time i hope o can get it mapped but just on the sports mode and have it close to stock on the eco and comfort mode
I have a 1.9 tdi Audi A3 2008 , what customization would you recommend
@@torquecars thanks man appreciate it , will let you know how I get on 👍
Just bought a 2010 Audi A3 Quattro, it is automatic (unfortunately :( ).
Thanks,
Hernando
It is possible but you really want the transmission and shift points to match up to the cars new torque band, without this it will feel flat in places and in some cases you might get error codes or the transmission reaches its torque limits and things get backed off. I'll try and find alternative suppliers for you, are you UK based?
@@torquecars thank man, no i am US based...in NY specifically. Thanks for all the great information
Can someone explain how the diesel engines have their power increased after a remap while simultaneously gaining MPG?
Improved efficiency, in real terms you hit a power figure at a lower RPM. It doesn't follow on ALL engines but most will gain MPG, and certainly all the VW diesel engines I've had mapped have shown a significant MPG improvement.
If you drive it like you stole it then you won't see an improvement, you'll be burning more fuel and hitting much higher power levels. But in everyday driving you'll see both power and economy gains.
@@torquecars awesome, makes sense to me. Thanks man.

I have a 170 audi a3 8p
I have a 2006 Audi A3 2.0t, is it something that could make reliable power while still daily driving it?
@@torquecars I look forward to the video, I have the 140
Was getting informative until you started talking about the power limits of the K03 and K04 turbos. Was a good try though and nice vid
Great vid but I have to disagree with your comment about induction kits, here’s a video testing the theory.
ua-cam.com/video/n7-cIiumgmE/v-deo.html
