  • The Glideride has been a shoe that I've always been meaning to try but yet never got around to. This year, the changes made it a shoe that I made sure I didn't miss out on.

disclosures: ASICS sent me these shoes to reviews, so I did not have to pay for them. But I have done a lot of projects with ASICS in the past and will continue to work on projects with them in the future. There is certainly opportunity for bias in this relationship, and you are welcome to take this into consideration when deciding how much weight to give to my opinions. However, no one is paying me to make this video or to use this shoe, and no one will have a chance to preview any of my footage or my thoughts before this video goes up on UA-cam.

Good review Asics has so many models I never tried before and this is one of them.I do like the new Asics 24,The Magic Speed and some older throw back Asics Tarthers. But Some of your other Asics you reviewed has me wanting to try out the Asics Meta Speed Sky for a fall Half or full Marathon..As a daily trainer to rotate the Cumulus 24 is a nice shoe .I wonder what ever happened to their 33 series they had about 6 or 7 years ago I think it was? Picked up a pair at my local Asics store this week. Not sure if they were supposed to be selling them yet, but I'm really liking it so far. They feel significantly lighter than the Glideride 2 and softer than the original Gliderides (though maybe I'm forgetting what those were like when new - they're fairly stiff now after 500 miles in them).

I had the Novablast 1 and the 2 has a lot less room vertically in the toebox that makes them uncomfortable to me. Plenty of cushion and bounce. Nb2 in some ways has a more bouncy fun feel but in tight corners I'd be afraid of rolling my ankle. It's a different sensation.. nb2 is more versatile.. can use it as a walking shoe if you wanted, so cushiony. G3 is good for long distance cruise control.. def more step in comfort/hugging ur feet for the G3. I wore size 8.5 G3, size 8 on nb2 since it runs a little long.. basically for long runs or even short runs I'm going for G3 personally. But I can't wait to try nb3, sounds like even more bounce.

i had knee surgery two years ago and bought these to start running again...my knee doesnt like it. This is not the shoe if you have knee issues....you have been warned. I am not sure what it is, its either its too cushony in the forefoor or the bounce back is too muc...but my knee was pretty sore after using it. Relegated it to a walking shoe.

can you tell me what shoe did work for you? wondering if it is the shoe and/or due to some other collection of variables that may be at play.

@@kofuzi I am still looking for the right shoe. I am thinking of trying a zero drop shoe. So far I have tried the following Pegasus 37 (too high drop), Brooks Ghost 14 (too high drop), Vomero 11 (forefoot pain in balls of feet) and Glideride 3 (it seems to affect my gate and the forefoot has a bit too much cushion). My knee is very sensitive since acl surgery so i am very sensitive to differences between running shoes.

These are Georgetowm themed. I believe Patrick Ewing was a Hoya. Curious how they would be for a running shoe. It will help grow the channel.

@@kofuzi Without comparative context, it feels like a generic review that's tough to infer meaningful info. As an example, Seth James Demoor does an excellent job doing this with all his shoe reviews. Simply providing constructive feedback to get you more subscribers/clicks.

Thanks. Looking forward to these after running in the GlideRide 2. One thing different is the toebox bends much more in this iteration. Also, if you are going to have some sort of relationship with Asics, please start to get much better at the reviews. You are lacking here. Comparisons from past models are important. If you think Nike shoe users can be tough, Asics's users will be far worse. This is a good newby Asics review without many details.

I will have to disagree. I have run in a lot of Asics shoes, and thus by far is the worst of all of them. It is heavy, clunky, completely rigid and inflexible, with an unnatural rocker that forces me to run in an awkward manner against my natural form. Being so heavy you are never able to pick any speed, at best I was able to move at a steady pace, that too with some effort. It is not a shoe that I will pick up for any sort of running , and worst it can’t be even salvaged as a walking shoe with that monster rocker :( On the contrary, Asics Evoride is a total gem of a shoe, and I have used it consistently over the last many years, have run half marathons in it, and I believe one can do a full marathon in it as well. There is a reason Glideride flies below the radar, as it is a bad shoe.
