      I have an executive physical at the Mayo Clinic and they offer a running evaluation which I signed up for. Will be 2 hours of various activities. Will happen in July so I’ll update after I go through it.

    I have managed through Plantar Fasciatis and strange is I use my old Vibram finger shoes to keep it at bay. When I load it with a minimal shoe my plantar can be symptom free for months and months with 1600 miles in a year including marathons. I don't know why digging into my PF helps but it does.

    I’m so glad you guys touched on the upper quarter. I was training for a half marathon and kept being limited by thoracic pain, no LE problems. I was seeing a PT who ran Iron Man races and I think she was a bit stumped as well. I eventually got up to about 9 miles and started to have other issues, but I think trunk endurance was the most likely culprit. I’m treating a patient right now who has a lot of rigidity in lower joints but having the most pain at the CT junction. It would be interesting to see more research specifics on this.

    Great episode. I have actually the Noosa Tri 13 and really enjoy the ride. I rotate it with the Cumulus 24 as daily trainers. But when I will change the Noosa, the new Glideride looks at me or may be the new Noosa I don't know. Otherwise I never had a full body running evaluation. I see a pysiotherapist twice a year and I know I'm pronator. But I don't support shoe soles in my running shoes. I had knee panes with and ran a marathon or a 55k without and no injures.

    Love this episode! I understand shoes are usually the primary focus but as a new runner I need all the help I can get (and trust) on basics like form and injury prevention.
    I just finished up a round of PT for some minor posterior tibial tendon irritation after “learning” to run on UA-cam. I’m doing a lot better after my PT got me using my hips instead of springing forefoot to forefoot on stiff ankles. He doesn’t specialize in running though and only briefly watched me on a treadmill to see that I was running smoother. Any tips on finding a good PT or form coach specifically for running? I’m assuming I wouldn’t be able to use medical insurance since my current PT “fixed” the issue and I just want to run better, is any route more cost effective than the others?

    Yes, visited a running fysio after always getting into calf/Achilles issues when increasing the miles. Visited him before the issues would come back. Did a full body evaluation (flexibilities, strengths, running techniques on treadmill). Didn't want to visit another shoestore, whose main objective is to sell shoes. I think it's the best investment for running I've done. I really focussed on his points over long time, and have to say that my Achilles and calf issues are non existent now.

    Great episode guys thanks. Lots of valuable insight. Maybe you can’t share this information but can you give an approximate price range for a full body running evaluation?

      It can vary greatly. Around $150-300 is average today!

    Tried glideride few years ago and it caused me knee pain due to its rockered and stiff sole which I could not get used to it and made my every step very awkward/cannot run in my preferred way. Have since done tons of glute medius rehab and switched to traditional running shoe.

    never had one. I ran for many years back in the 2006-2010 years where i didnt even know stuff like that existed and got pretty good at running. before i knew things like running evaluations existed I felt i didnt see a need since i got pretty fast and high milage with little to no injury for many years.

    At minute 15:33 you guys were talking about other shoes as reference to aggressive rocker in glideride. Actually there is, ASICS Metaride where glideride was born from. I prefer Metaride better but it is more expensive n heavier. I can understand most people don't love Metaride because imagine dual density foam + aggressive rocker + trampoline chamber = confuse ride to some people. But some people love it after putting miles on it. Ultra runner prefer this than hoka. So sad it is discontinued but glideride stand strong. I use Metaride as racer and glideride as training companion back in 2019

    The Glideride 2 toe rocker was a disaster for me. I was falling off.. It cause me terrible hip pain for days and I never have hip pain.. I am glad they fixed it. I am a slow (old) runner and I couldn't find my pace with the Glideride 2. It didn't work well at slower speeds. Glideride 2 put a lot of stress on the metatarsal. How is the Glideride 3?

    theses hurt my knees...i had acl surgery 2 years ago. i dont recommend for people with knee surgery. I have already used it so i cant even return it...i might relagate it to a walking shoe. Not sure if its because its too soft or unstable in the forefoot or if there is too much bounce in the forefooot that is jarring my knee.

    Saludos desde Valencia,ESPAÑA.me parece un error que asics utilice en sus suelas use goma que en mojado resbala y provoca latigazos y caidasy te cree inseguridad,que garantía tenemos los corredores mas seriedad y condiciones seguras por lo que valen,no utilicen solo en los topes de gama de competición lo mejor utilicenla con el pelotón.

    I would have htought runners vaguely serious about the sport would have been eveluated FIRST thing. BEFORE nerding out and buying their rotation of shoes and the race shoe. Yet most have not. You see runners all the time "running funny" around us and djoing shoe r eviews on UA-cam.
    SOme complain about soreness in their feet. But clearly from what htey've said they havent been looked at. To try to correct any phsycial mobility issues or just to learn how to run. Most I think just assume you just buy a pair of shoes and start running more and more. ..most have never set foot in a gym or been coached. It is the nature of this sport. It's usually a solitary sport unless running with friends or some club. ...vs "Track & field" where you start off in a team with a coach...usualy first in the high school team...then college....etc.
