Now that i think about it, "feeling awkwardly out of place" seems to be the phenomenon of most of us. Rarely do we find someone in their teens completely thriving. I wonder why that is, maybe becoz of the education system coz it trains us to compare among ourselves, chase good grades preset by some authorities for their benefits, always point out whats "wrong" with us and never what we have achieved good etc

8:50 I would've been so phucked if I grew up in this day and age.... I was a complete tomboy. Knees all scratched, climbing trees, short hair, playing with bugs and random animals outside, in the mud, all messy. Imagine if my parents thought I was a trans boy and brainwashed me into transitioning... Damn. I'm super feminine nowadays. I love being feminine, love being a woman. Thank goodness I didn't grow up in a time where people could've pressured me or my parents into drastically changing my gender just because I didn't behave or presented as a standard little girl. Live your life the way you wish, but do not try to convince me, that biology is a choice. I know what I am and am content with it. I don't appreciate a person projecting their insecurities about themselves onto me. That goes double for my children. They will make their own life choices, once they reach an appropriate age. An adult female human is a perfectly fine definition. It tells you all you need to know. After all female is referring to biology. (The gender vs. sex debate). So a woman is a biological female adult human.
The problem with the debate is that they try to confuse the vocabulary and they rely on people not using logic to counter.
Even gender is referring to the social/cultural differences between the sexes of male and female. Because it is the social, cultural differences, no one person can change those differences by themselves. Those changes can only occur with consensus made by the culture/society. You can only break gender roles, not redefine them for yourself.

What question then? 'What is a woman'? As much as it makes it easier to set everything in black and white, forcing people to fit these black and white roles does nothing but harm (except for the power tripping people who do the forcing). There's biological sex, then there's the gender role one chooses to participate with in society. For most people it's the same, for a small minority it is not. People like Matt Walsh try to make you believe they're some evil onslaught on mankind when in actuality, they're just people trying to find a place in society. If a pronoun and a man dressed as a woman are enough to make you feel so insecure, so worried about the future of humanity, when there's so many important things to worry about, then Matt Walsh has done his job. He's just another alt-right grifter, whether or not he knows he's being used by the ultra-rich, to distract us in culture wars as the world falls apart from global warming, mass extinction, and ocean acidification, among many other terrible things we're doing to this planet. So if the worst thing you can worry about in 10 years time is what we think the definition of a woman is, you should really reconsider your priorities.

Totally agree. It is 100% TOTALLY fine if you are someone who does not fit in common categories, but that doesn't mean that it's wrong to have common categories in the first place. I'm autistic with adhd - I'm not "neurotypical" but I'm not mad that neurotypicals exist.
When it comes to anything with kids - I'm NOT a fan of chemical or medical intervention for non-life-threatening issues before puberty. Let the body and brain get to a basic level of maturity and then take inventory and see what needs changing. I started puberty a year late, and my parents took me to the doctor and the doctor gave me an exam and then said, "let's wait a year before we do anything and see if it works itself out" and sure enough, it did. Likewise I'm on adhd meds now as an adult but I'd not want to have been put on them as a kid - let the brain develop and then tinker with it. If you mess with the brain while it's still growing, it's going to cause side effects.
Peterson's take there about the outliers is also true. When I was a kid, we used the now outdated term, "tom boys" to refer to "girls that liked 'boy things'" - that's an outdated term now, but it points to an underlying idea that it's okay for girls to be more masculine or boys to be more feminine and that doesn't mean anything is wrong. I'm a straight male and I can cross-stitch and crochet and I did musical theatre, that doesn't mean "oh I'm secretly gay and just hiding it", I've been happily married to a woman for over a decade, I just like some activities and that's all that means.
Personally I think we'd be better off trying to normalize kids having non-stereotypical interests rather than trying to normalize medical procedures. If the goal is everyone should be comfortable to accept themselves for who they are and not be judged for it, then let's just do that.
    Cheers.

Ditto to that. The studies were done decades ago that not every boy likes playing in the mud and not every girl likes to sit quietly and read. They’re no less boys or girls because they don’t fall in nice, neat little boxes and those who go outside of that don’t need to be carved up or drugged into boxed behavior. People have personalities and that’s supposed to be okay. The only people frustrated by others not falling into those nice, neat little boxes are hyper-controlling authoritarians who shouldn’t have a modicum of power.

It’s weird too because transgenderim is linked to sexuality and sexual preferences and I don’t think a Kid can really grasp that at all. I was just wondering about this last night. I had an assistant that was gay (he passed away) and he often talked about romance and love and what it meant to him as a gay man. I thought to myself last night that it's all being ruined by an extreme narrative and a desire to change things for the sake of power. If you can make one of the most powerful drives we know (sex), so confusing and controlled only by the people who are making up a new gender daily, and then give them even more power and control by creating legislation that bans certain speech and the constant pressure that attempts to force people to use certain speech or be called racist, homophobic, etc. I mean, who's really being shamed here?!
The way you speak and the language used, influences thought. As a person who speaks a few languages, I can tell you that you think a little different, when you speak other languages, the culture and lifestyle of that language, influences your thoughts. What's beginning to happen is that this forcing of these ideas and narrative is starting to blur lines. It's beginning to be ok to be a pedophile now?! Not in my book. I've seen that narrative increasing. I'm not afraid of someone who is gay. I AM afraid of the idea that hurting children is ok. I'm afraid of these lines that are already becoming very blurred and out of control and let's face it, they're outright absurd at times. A girl that wanted to have her pronouns be a sprite/fairy. I mean, really? I truly wondered what the outlook was for people that are just..... Gay.
This agenda doesn't have to do with being gay or straight, it has to do with power and control.

On the issue of being different, I’m a believer in everyone being what makes them happy. I’m not ok with people pushing it on me. Like most people, no one really wants to be bothered. We just want to be left alone. Be who you are, be happy. I’ll be me, and I’ll be happy. If I see you on the streets, I’ll be respectful, as I believe most people would be. I can't really agree, not because I don't want them to be happy, but because happiness is not found in delusions. "You be you" is itself dishonest. A man is not being himself by pretending to be a woman. If someone had a delusion that he was Abraham Lincoln, would you call him Mr President and make a replica of the White House for him? I hope not, because that's not at all helpful. Delusions are not solved by "affirming" them.

I thought heavily about trans issues as I was deconstructing my identities (male and autistic) in the last couple of years. It helped me a great deal to notice how many of my traits in both categories are not the norm - however, to be comfortable with them, and eventually to realize that if I call myself female, or neurotypical, based on certain behaviors or characteristics more common in those categories, I'm actually stereotyping males and autistics - in very condescending and sexist/ableist ways. I work in behavior analysis where parsimony is an important virtue and I point to Jordan's statement about how variations amongst men and women are about temperament, not divergent gender identity, and how I find that a more parsimonious explanation for what we call gender dysphoria. I'm starting to speak about this more publicly now that my opinions are fully formed, and I can connect it with concepts near and dear to me like authenticity, belonging, and knowing yourself.

Very well put, respect!! We NEED masculine women and feminine men, the full spectrum should be in attendance and everyone has value. I do however absolutely disagree with any kind of cosmetic surgery that is not medically necessary be it boob jobs, face lifts, or gender reassignment surgery. We all need to learn how to love and take care of the bodies God gave us whether you believe in it or not. I also think a big part of this is the absence of the Divine Masculine in our culture. Many years ago we came up with the definition for Toxic Masculinity but never it's counterpart, and it is that strong, protector, leader energy that's absent in today's social climate.
