      I could be projecting a bit, but he has dedicated his life’s work to helping people to take control of their lives and to become incredible people, but half of the world has painted him as the archetype of every single evil he is trying to fight against. Of course they all feel incorrect and ignorant, but there’s always some degree of doubt that sneaks in, and when someone confirms that you’re the opposite of the slander, that your life’s work is actually helping and changing people, it’s hard to hold back that kind of emotion. It’s overwhelming. You can’t fake the care and love that Jordan emits. By his own words he doesn’t want to see anyone burn in Hell, and seeing his success in reaching out and dragging person after person out of their personal hells, is the very feeling of meaning and joy.

    You have to imagine that with all the hate this man gets when he's trying to help people, It definitely registers on a deep emotional level when someone thanks you.
    Back in the day there was a lot of assaults (kids getting beat up) in my town from older punks outside of town. I got sick of seeing it and tried to inform the police about it but they wrote it off as "boys will be boys" so to speak, so I took it upon myself to try to make it stop. Long story short it resulted in a lot of escalating violence, the police blaming me and labeling me a trouble maker etc, while I didn't enjoy getting the shit kicked out of me, I didn't want this. I succeeded in making the violence stop for others.
    One day I was in line at a small grocery store to buy a soda and bag of chips and I let a lady cut in front of me to be polite and she struck up a conversation. When she learned what my name was she gave me a big hug and thanked me. She explained how her child and his friends were no longer afraid to ride their bikes around town because I was scaring off the "punks".
    I had to put my stuff back and go outside so I could be alone with my tears.

    Not only is Jordan Peterson a brilliant man, he is compassionate, truthful and so very understanding of the human psyche. If everyone was to take the time to listen to him, they would realise how much he cares. I was in a really dark and depressing place for nearly two years recently, and watching JP helped me more then he will know. Thanks Alex to you and other UA-camrs for highlighting that this man is more human than most, is more caring than most and makes more sense than most. • @faded1to3black
      @faded1to3black Рік тому

      @@BananaSandwich3000 he hasn't preached anything hateful. Thats a total straw man representation of his statements. I'm not even a big fan of JP myself, but pretending he is "anti-trans", and "despises plus sized women" is just a gross misrepresentation of his points on those topics.
      The powers that be are trying to make fat people (just women basically) into these paragons of beauty, which *is* absurd. Its absurd as the era in America when smoking was being called healthy, and that bad habit was advertised everywhere, and you could smoke in most places. Fat shouldn't be seen as beautiful. A fat woman can be beautiful, but being fat in and of itself, isn't. Accepting your state as a fat person, and insisting its perfectly healthy, isn't beautiful. Its delusional, and it encourages young girls to think being fat is beautiful and a goal, when it shouldn't be.
      As for "anti-trans", he never was. This has been debunked countless times. He's against compelled speech. He never indicated he hated or was opposed to trans people. Just that he shouldn't need to worry about government forcing him to address trans people the way they demand. And he was right about that too.

      @BananaSandwich3000 Рік тому

      @@faded1to3black What a bunch of right-wing hysteria. Do you guys even hear yourselves? Big women being seen as attractive is an ancient long thing, there are ancient statues depicting it. Acting like it's some authoritarian regime is insane reaction.
      And yes, he's anti-trans. All that bill did was offer trans people the same protections against hate speech that other discriminated against minorities have. You're not allowed to call a black person the n-word without consequences, is that compelled speech? Constantly misgendering a trans person on purpose right to their face should be seen as hateful too. Unless you think an entire group of people don't deserve the same rights as everyone else just because they were born different. That's never a good look.
      Also, Peterson is losing it lately, that's why he always cries every 2 seconds nowadays, he's crumbling.

    • @faded1to3black
      @faded1to3black Рік тому

      @@BananaSandwich3000 I'm not right wing, and it isn't "right wing hysteria", but feel free to use that as the excuse.
      "Big women being seen as attractive is an ancient long thing"
      This is a fundamental misrepresentation of historical statues. Slightly overweight women, not super obese, were depicted because they could afford to have statues of themselves made, and the fact that they were slightly on the thicker side had to do with the fact that they were upper class and had access to a wealth of food the peasantry didn't.
      However, fat has never been considered "healthy". Sure, there have been chubby chasers throughout history, but was it actually considered desirable to be enormous? No. That would be silly. Having a population of fat people would have been awful during most historical eras. A fighting force of fat people wouldn't even be able to make it to a battlefield, let alone fight a war.
      The *current trend* is to throw obese women on magazine covers and pretend that they are beautiful *because* they are fat, and healthy *despite* being noticeably unhealthy, and whoever does trust their lying eyes and says no this is not healthy or attractive, is labeled "fatphobic". That's clearly absurd. An obese society us an unhealthy one, and obesity is a huge probpem. Glorifying it by making fat people look like a desirable goal (which is what the fat acceptance movement is doing) is bad.
      As for the other thing, compelled speech is compelled speech, end of. Canada is backwards with its speech laws, and the fact that they even have protected classes you must legally say or not say around them is pretty egregiously wrong to begin with. Hate speech laws are antithetical to the principle and purpose of free speech in western societies. The government can effectively *claim* anyone saying anything is "hate speech". This is something authoritarian regimes like to do.
      None of what I said has anything to do with "right wing hysteria". It has to do with liberal philosophy, civics, and actual history of dictatorships and ancient civilizations.

      @BananaSandwich3000 Рік тому

      @@faded1to3black Don't want to get into a paragraph war but I'll just say you're going waaaay too far into "end of society" type of rhetoric with the big girl stuff. Just like body positivity isn't going to create a society of %100 fat people.

It does serve to humanize a man that is far to often and quickly demonized by those that have neither the time nor the capacity to comprehend him. I was jobless, on academic probation from my university, and slowly fading away from my prior self. Since beginning to study Jordan Peterson and his lectures, as recommended by my younger brother, I have made drastic changes in my life. I'm sober from alcohol, work out every day, eat right, have a job and a new apartment which I love. Jordan's daughter actually has some interesting stuff on nutrition. She struggled with a shit ton of both physical and psychological issues growing up and discovered that only eating meat and water miraculously cured her of basically all her ailments -- she didn't even need the majority of her medications after developing the diet. Jordan also took up this diet because of his own health issues and also is seemingly cured. She tries her best to not advocate for her diet, as she knows it may seem crazy and could possibly have negative side effects, but she kind of has made her career about figuring out why that diet works and if it actually could be something that a lot of people could benefit from. Because of this her podcast has really cool nutrition people on it. I feel like with the constant battle between vegetarianism and meat a lot of nutritional facts are censored or misrepresented in media so her guests are often really interesting to listen to. She is kind of like a more relatable Dr. Peterson in the fact she just has a wide plethora of guests on her show because she doesn't really care about appealing to any kind of group or politics. She, alongside her guests, has really opened up my eyes to the fact that our food in America is a massive issue across the board for economics, politics, physical health, and mental health. And on a side bar, I work with disabled people, and whenever I get into a conversation with my client's parents about their pregnancies with their disabled children and we talk about how there's just so many more disabilities these days, they all say the same thing: food. Genuinely, outside of genetic predisposition, the second most common theory I hear from parents of disabled children is about nutrition. They feel like our processed foods and lack of physical activity in this country not only manifests more disabilities, but also perseverates and worsens them. Interesting stuff.
    EDIT: With the marvel stuff, Marvel made a Captain America comic (I believe it was Captain America, at least, I didn't bother reading the comic but it was Red Skull so I assumed it was Captain America) where it had the Red Skull on a computer and was showing how Hydra was infiltrating modern media to brainwash the population. In the pictures of examples on the computer screen, they had drawings referencing stuff Peterson has said and referencing his books. Basically implying that Jordan is just a propaganda machine for the alt right and Nazis...lmfao. The fact that shit got through editing is just mind numbingly ignorant.

      You might want to read The Plant Paradox if you are into nutrition. I know all about what you wrote about. I've been studying nutrition down to the cellular level for many years. You are right that processed food, including excessive sugar and salt and preservatives and glyphosate (round up) are major problems. Sadly, making us sick via diet is quite intentional. Why do you think McD*nalds toxic stuff is subsidized, but not their salad or healthy menu options. I knew an owner who really wanted to sell healthy food into his community. He was told NO. It was far more profitable to sell burgers and fries than salads and fruits.
      If you think it's bad now, wait a generation or two. The future offspring of todays metabolically sicke people (now it is up to 88% of all Americans is sick.) Research epigenetics. In short, up to 3 generations can be effected by the health of the parents.
      Read The Flexner Report- 1910. They want and now frankly need to make us sick so they can profit off treating us over our lifetimes. It is not a theory- it's all in there. That well known report was funded by Carnegie and Rockefeller. It was determined that sickness, and treatment (pills) made more money than nutrition (good food) and prevention...so they went with and adopted the former. It is the model that is used today. That is why your doctor will never, ever ask you what you eat. That 4.0 brilliant student will never tell you that you can cure your symptoms with nutrition. Most of the time you can. There are only eight (8) sub cellular pathologies for disease- related to energy metabolism. Exercise can help with 4 of them. RX pills can help with exactly zero of them (symptoms only while creating new problems); nutrition can cure all eight (8). This again is not my opinion but a well known scientific fact. Doctors are smart but they are not trained on nutrition- remember that old Flexner Report? You got it. It funds medical education that usually omits nutrition. It should be criminal.

    Peterson was my Red Pill savior. I will be extremely grateful to him for the rest of my days on this planet, for sure. Just wish I could have a chance to stand in that line and be another person to tell him to his face.

    I love all of your reactions, but I've especially loved seeing you react to Jordan Peterson. As for still needing to read his book, maybe you'll like how I tackled this book. I come from a close, Italian family. My younger sister is a neuropsychologist (PhD) and I bought a copy for me and a copy for her. We both wanted to add some exercise into our lives so I suggested we read a chapter each week, meet up on Saturdays and walk a 5K while we talk. Walking a 5K takes about an hour which gave us plenty of time to talk about the chapter that week. As a surprise, she recently bought tickets for me, her and her husband to see Jordan Peterson last April. It was great to see and listen to him live. But to get back on track (pun intended), maybe you and someone of your choosing could find an hour a week to walk and talk after reading a chapter? Keep up the great work with your channel - it's thoroughly enjoyable!

    JP will probably never know this, but he has saved my life in more than one way. He is a great man, who wants you to do good, to heal, to believe in yourself, and get better so you can pass it on and help others. He is a gift for humanity. I felt so happy for him when i saw he was moved to tears by Africa’s words...because this is what he lives for, and to see that his selfless words are helping others must give him an amazing sense of accomplishment and joy.
    Absolutely love this dude.

    My gran always use to tell me "We never arrive. We are always learning. Right through our existence."
    Essentially stay humble. Don't ever think you've arrived and now you know it all. You'll always learn something new etc. I feel like that can be applied to anything in life. 🖤

    I’ve been wondering about this. From my own personal experience with depression and the mess going on in the world, it’s easier just to listen to people that affirm your own beliefs. The stress of having your ideas challenged when you’re already struggling with anxiety or depression and such (which the pandemic has made worse) just feels like willingly taking on more suffering. Not saying it’s right but I do wonder if, even subconsciously, this is driving a lot of people’s unwillingness to listen and simply cancel ppl.

    Jordan peterson gives me hope as a young white man. Where the media portrays us as the devil constantly, he shows a little love where the rest of the world shows us hate. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and that's mine, like me or hate me, I've learned to not get caught up in what people think of me. I can control the monster inside ✌

      Jordan Peterson is a clinical psychologist/professor who did a thesis on alcoholism, yet claimed that he wasn't aware of the well known dangers of benzodiazepines...
      Jordan Peterson also stated himself that he "adamantly" tried to get a client to take pharmaceuticals. A clinical psychologist who isn't even aware of the well known dangers of benzodiazepines, yet pushes pharmaceuticals onto others, has questionable competency at the very least; can you grasp how dangerous this type of incompetence is within the mental health world?

    Jordan did such a great job of trolling Marvel on Twitter when Red Skull happened, it pains me to see it really hit him hard behind the scenes.
