Ditto with everyone else on the window frames. Looks. Brand. New. And can’t get over the finished cement-laden basement. It’s made a world of difference. It’s great to get a glimpse of how beautiful the entire basement will look with windows and flooding light when comparing it to the servants quarters. Ending is NOT better than mending, and you’re a prime example of that.
The new window frame are such amazing craftsmanship. I can't wait to have this area finished. The basement windows may be the next big project. It will be nice to have natural light in there all the time.
All the little things getting done are as fun to watch as the big ones. When you first went into the house it was dark. Now, there is so much light, chatter, and life. I'm just in awe every video. I'm definitely adding this house to our bucket list trip, when my husband retires. 🤣 Have a great week!❤️🤍💙
Sometimes I think 90% of what we talk about when working can't be shown. I always laugh when I stick the phone on the tripod for hours and forget about it.
There's stuff down here...WOW what an understatement 🤣 Its great to see the window frames coming home, I cant wait to see them fitted and finished. great video 2x.👍
Sadly, there's a lot less stuff than there used to be and it's still a mess. Once the beadboard starts going up it should clear out fast. I can't wait to get to work on the basement windows again and get some natural light in there.
We use the clear Kilz primer sealer to coat our old plaster walls after removing the wallapaper. It made the next repair step possible without having to remove every trace of glue first.
It's always fun to see your progress, but what we're really excited about is the Steampunk Festival. Wish we could be there, but know that we're there in spirit!
I wish you guys could be here, too. It was fun last year and there's even more going on this year. The house is almost ready. One more semi big project to go then we may need a break.
Hi Janie! I saw Ricardo and crew working at another place on UA-cam. When we were living in Houston, we used to eat at the best Italian restaurant around, It was in League City. It’s closed now, maybe you remember it. The owner was from Italy and he built 2 castles. One used to be the post office, the other, I didn’t know about until some Brit bought it and is restoring it. It’s a crazy project, but fun to see. Love watching the LK home. Jamie, 😘
Yes, we recommended Ricardo and his crew for that job. We were thrilled that he's found a new client that loves him as much as we do. That Santa Fe Castle is going to be fabulous when it's finished.
I had been wondering about that front eyebrow vent, because in the previous videos of that portion of the inside attic I didn't see any form of vent/register/opening. So it was basically decorative. But just as important !
The basement is just a messy construction zone right now but it's starting to come together as walls are going up. Hopefully it will be better organized soon.
I'm a little sad that I'm done scraping the tiles in the sunroom. The grout won't be nearly as much fun.
Never fear, there's something you can scrape in the kitchen.

I love that you are working on permanent fixtures that are going to make such a difference when they are installed.
It's nice to finally be at this stage. I think the apartment is going to be really cute when it's finished. It won't be long now!

You should see the light now that one of the parlor windows is in! The parlor just glows.
@leaguekempnerhouse Sounds wonderful. Thank you for the update.🤗
I’m dying about filming Heather’s backside & you looking smaller in person! 😂😂

It was nice seeing the stainless steel sink and cabinet up against that wall. Progress is exciting.
It is going to make the perfect kitchen in the chauffer's quarters. We are so happy to be able to put it to good use.
It's all coming together~ Keep on going!
We are really turning a corner. There is still so much to do but we are starting to work on things that will be visable.
There's stuff down here...WOW what an understatement 🤣

You are likely sanding shellac off the back of this plywood. It’s one of my favorite things to sand/scrape shellac!
It was so brittle, it fell right off.
Always love to watch the progress!
Thanks, it's good to be working on something besides the structural stuff.
Huge brick porch is beautiful!
It is, we love sitting out there to eat lunch and watch the world go by.

I bet that did work great. There's nothing worse than trying to get off wallpaper from a wall that wasn't properly prepped. Prep is everything.

Hello Janie!
Howdy!!!
Thanks.
Your welcome, as always. Things are starting to move along.
I had been wondering about that front eyebrow vent, because in the previous videos of that portion of the inside attic I didn't see any form of vent/register/opening. So it was basically decorative. But just as important !
That one is decorative but the others are all functional vents. It will be good to get it back up.
Step by step
So much of the work is tedious but it has to be done.
Do you have the basement set up like a library. Where things are labeled by room?
The basement is just a messy construction zone right now but it's starting to come together as walls are going up. Hopefully it will be better organized soon.
JANIE you look nice in those jeans.....:)
Oh thank you!
