Completely agree. It is too small for the room, and we hung it very high so we wouldn't knock it with the top of the ladder while working but it does give a help our visitors get a better sense of the potential the house has when finished. When we can get to the point of actually finishing the room hopefully, we can afford something period (and size) appropriate.
Love being able to find a good home for something I've had in storage for a while!! Even better when you have strong, willing help to get the job done!!! ❤
Our volunteers are the best! Having some muscle around was awesome. I've always been strong for my size but age has taken a toll and there is a lot of heavy lifting to do. Take care.🙂
We have a great group of volunteers. We couldn't do it without them. It has been a great year at the house with so much getting done. Next year should be full of projects as well.
You are doing a fantastic thing, Ms. Janie! I've seen people build a rack with a long pole, like a clothing rod, in the middle. The two ends are on wheels, and they store chandeliers this way, bring them down to clean or repair them, and hook them on the rod. It's easy to roll around that way.
Thanks. That would be a great way to work on these at eye level. This ladder with the platform and rail is really great though. I feel much more secure up on it.
What would a house be without its chandeliers. We love having a few pieces of furniture in the house and a little bling up so our guests can envision the potential.
Not working and too small but it does add some nice sparkle to the room so people can envision the potential. Someday we will have something really grand (and functional) up there. But for now, this works.
My dearest Janie, When you pointed out that Kevin is “ Strong and Young”, I started thinking about, when we were young. Then, my brain said, Yeah, it would be interesting to be those again, but…… I wouldn’t give up the time period that you and I grew up in. Never! We saw it all, I won’t list all of “them” ( Music, no internet, The Moon & my Mom and Dad 💔), you know what I’m talking about. I wouldn’t want to grow up in the present times… Chandelier looks very nice! 👍🏻 😘
We have the Santa Ana Winds in Southern California right now. And while it’s more-than-not a pleasant sort of dry, desert heat, the dryness is not nurturing my very Welsh/Irish/German skin. Speaking of skin, the man needs to show me his exercise routine. And how to handle a chainsaw. Because they’re more than intimidating to me. But Kevin looks like he’s been handling them for years. Them guns gotta be 16”. I’ll get there sooner than later. I just graduated to 15lb dumbbells. Yeh hear that, Kevin! One of these days, I’ll….I don’t know…show you? We’ll go with that for now. Eh…. Anyway! It’s great to see elements of the house actually receive appointing. The chandelier is really The Most! And I always love seeing the Lucas Apartments. That - what I associate with - little New Orleans slice of Texas.
It is very dry here now. We are either drowning in the rain of baking in the sun. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground. When Kevin finished at the house he went to the local cross-fit gym to work out. I can't fathom being that strong.
The chandelier is beautiful and can’t wait to see it all finished. It may be a little small for that room but it’s better than nothing. Stay cool 😊

It is so nice to have this up and not packed away in a box - and a very big one at that. We loved Kevin!!!!!
The volunteers are so great!!🥰 Having alittle muscle is so nice. I have trouble with a lid sometimes and go looking for help.😂 Have a great week. ❤️🤍💙

Great job Janie. Special thanks to all the volunteers helping to preserve this beautiful house 🎉

An old Victorian house always needs big crystal chandeliers in the main rooms 😁👌🏻
I love the chandelier you picked.

Great video nice to a fancy light fitting hanging up, not working but up. 2x👍

Awe! He's not just strong, he's cute!
And incredibly nice and hard working. He's a keeper.

I remember thinking about all the changes my grandmother must have seen growing up. Looking back, we have seen a lot too! It was a great childhood.
Beautiful!
Thanks. It's not perfect but it's better than nothing at this point. It really is very pretty but just a little small for the room.

Need to get some local fraternity to do volunteer days for you. Don't they do those? I didn't go to a college with frat houses.
We've heard about the local college doing some volunteers days. We definitely need to get connected to them.
A lot of "Ta-Da's" on this UA-cam video!
It was a productive day!😀
"Young and strong " sip of protein shake. Ha ha!
I'm probably not supposed to comment on that,💟 so I'll just give it a heart emoji.
Glad there wasn't a comedy of errors with the electric.
Only because it's not working. The new electrical hasn't been run yet so it's just hanging there.
Oh, to be young again and have the strength and stamina to work like that.....ho hum.
We can't go back but it sure would be fun to have a bunch of Kevins around to help.
