A guitar riff that launched a million new guitar players. The first six albums of Black Sabbath’s catalog are untouchable. All certified classics. They were born in post WW2 Birmingham, a dreary place prior to the war and was not in good shape post war. The siren in the intro was a recording of an Air Raid Siren that was used to alert British citizens of coming German Bombers, so that childhood in the shadow of the war and the Vietnam War influenced Geezer’s lyrics.
You too have quickly become my two favorite reactors on the internet. You're so much fun and honest and sincere. I would raise up in the '70s so I know a lot of music that I'll be dropping your way to listen to. Thanks again Johnny and Ashley.
There are 3 other live versions that are unique enough to watch as well. You should listen to this with good headphones. That's when the Bass really comes out. All 3 instruments are continuously distinguishable.
Bill Ward just bangs the F**K out of those skins! One of my first records as a kid in the early '70s! This song has been relevant the 6 decades I have been alive ✌💖☮
good show . You have so many great songs ahead of you. Deep purples child in time, Grand funk railroad inside looking out, and the Eagles Hotel California are just some of the many great songs waiting for you . Great watching you two discover these great performances
Great reaction to this classic! Well done for using a studio lyric video for your first listen. That's the way to do it. Tony iommi (eye-OWE-me)(lead guitar) wrote the music; Geezer Butler (bass) wrote the lyrics. I strongly suggest you react to a lyric video of Into the Void and Symptom of the Universe.
Great reaction guys, I don't know why people keep requesting all the hits first. Black Sabbath started out great and then got better. You guys should start out at the beginning. Their first album is Black Sabbath with the first song "Black Sabbath", it's great and from there they just kept getting better. Thanks again for the great reaction.
The lyricist of the band is the bassist, Geezer Butler....for sure one οf the most effective bands of all time, with majestic music. Not only the period with Ozzy (1968-79), but also the period with Dio (1980 and then) was epic as well
Glad you listened to this. Ren's band The Big Push do a street performance of this. I think you'd like it. (thumbnail is Ren in a white vest with red suspenders} even if you watch it privately ❤
Bring up the volume a little more. Love the multi layering of the guitar solo in this. Yes , definately do the live Paris 1970 version. Rock and Roll. Y'all are doing great. Love the content.
When you do live version, go for 1970 Paris. It’s high Quality, don’t let the year dissuade you. It was recorded on film. No crappy video tape. It’s on UA-cam.
If you want to hear the greatest rock drummer ever, and the GOAT rock band the he's a part of, you've got to get on the Zeppelin...the Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant - vocals Jimmy Page - guitar (producer) John Paul Jones - bass, keyboards John Bonham - drummer (the drummer almost all rock drummers look to as the best)
How about some Led Zeppelin. Please start with there first album 1969. Always do studio first it what made them famous. I don't think they ever played a song the same twice live. Peace ✌️
Hey guys, new subscriber Love & the channel. I really think going with lyrics videos for the first lesson is always the best bet. Haven't checked out your playlist enough to see if you have, but if not please check out the band tool! Weather forecast will change your life, no joke. Play reaction.
Prefer live version of artidts so you can see artists fashion of time no need to know all the lyrics most people dont but love the songs ,great channel by the way👍
@@davidscroggins7728 Aww thank you David. We love you for being so amazing and supportive! So happy you’re here. Adding it to our list!! -Ashley & Jonny
May I make a suggestion for a reaction, that is a wee bit different from the stuff you are used to reacting to? Two songs by a guy called Akala. 'Carried Away' and 'Find no Enemy'.
This is absolutely my favorite Black Sabbath song, Loved it when it came out and still love it too this day.
Just greatness.
Great war protest song! Still relevant today.

That’s the GREAT Bill Ward on the drums!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 My all time favorite drummer!! 🥁 Great reaction!! Black Sabbath 🤘🤘
Even better, cranked up in headphones or blasting in the car driving down the hiway.
There are 3 other live versions that are unique enough to watch as well. You should listen to this with good headphones. That's when the Bass really comes out. All 3 instruments are continuously distinguishable.
Written by bassist Geezer Butler. You two are the nicest two kids on the internet. And Ashley is just too darn adorable.
Now imagine our bliss in 1970 when this album dropped 😎
Vietnam war was going on.

This song is relatable to all wars throughout history.

Tony Yomi guitar is what you heard even with prosthetic finger tip after an accident in a machine when he was a Young factory worker. Bunch of talent.
Y'all are a delightful couple, and the channel should grow quickly.

Damn saw them Halloween night 1970 I
They play Ozzie solo not Sabbath to pump up the crowd at football games. Mostly “Crazy Train”. Maybe Sabbath’s “Iron Man”?
You should listen to sabaton "Christmas truce". Sabaton is a metal band that sings about true historical events
This was written just 15 years after WW2!
Sabbath
paris 1970 words are a little different, but you will not regret 🤘
Guitarist Tony iommi dmisding two tips of his fingers from a metal shop accident on his left hand and he's a left-handed guitar player
Please check out IN THIS MOMENT ... Big Bad Wolf, Sick Like Me, Whore, Blood
I would not pay attention to the lyrics on the live version as ozzy just ad libs. But still worth checking out for Bill Ward's drumming
More Vietnam War protest songs PLZ!!!
A great sub-genre of Classic Rock. “Ohio” by CSN&Y is great starting point
