Flanking is good and a great strategy that is used in real life but, the problem that most people need to realize is that a flank only works effectively if there is already a base of fire that has most of the enemy fire oriented on that position and simultaneously the flanking elements exploiting the enemies gaps.

Exactly, if there is no frontal attack then the flank becomes the main attack, with maybe a bit more surprise at the beginning. Still, it's always better to attack from an unexpected direction.

Kill garnision? Stupid? I cant know where they are!
Flank? No reason to do so. U start running till u die, than respawn and repeat it over and over again till the game is over, thats the game, Idk why it matter where i run to get killed
Flank enemy when u are i defanse??

I watched a enemy team hold the last point for 20 minutes and the closing wasn't far to go. We had to take it to win. I took my squad a long way around to attack from 180 from the main attack. It was a blood bath and meat grinder. We died as soon as we spawned. BUT! The attack took resources from the eastern front of the assault. Die we did! The easy kills they had on us drained the main attack front and our team won! Yeah some whinners cry at how "lousy" a squad leader you are, yet here you are a winner! Perhaps the Commander awards you an accommodation! Think outside the box every now and then. Flanking offers a lot of possibilities. Do it right and s...l...o...w....

03:50 this is so true. My recon leader said that we had to head further east, before going up North and attack the Artillary. It was on the map with the beach. I found a rock, and stuck to it. I'm still fairly new to the game, so when I got 7 kills on the commander, 39 Infantry kills & 15 SL kills, I't was the most fun Iv'e had in a game in ages. No artillery shot was fired that game, and I didn't die once. It's worth it to be patient. Wait until the enemies are isolated, and have your SL distract.

Patience goes a long way in HLL. Flanking and being disciplined enough to not always immediately start firing pays off. Instead of killing one or two and then being killed yourself, you can wipe out garrisons, and kill entire squads sometimes. Much more Impactful and much more fun!

I agree that flanking is extremely important but I don’t believe you should always be flanking. Some people need to stay and establish a frontline so that the enemy focuses there and can be flanked effectively.
Although that usually solves itself as most players are more than happy staying on the frontline at all times. 😂
Thanks for the great tips. 👌

One grid square of flanking movement isn't enough at all. Keep in mind that while most troops are slugging it out, there are opportunists and lone wolfs on the other team that typically soread out up to a grid square or more away from the main fight. On top of that, enemy troops often will try their own flanking attack and run right into you, sparking a new gun fight. I always go 2 or 3 grids out before turning depending on the terrain but 2 is my minimum.
Also, if you hear a recon plane, get inside a building asap. Don't check the map to see if its friendly, you simply don't have the time before you're spotted and the enemy knows where you are.

Flanking in defence is so underrated, my and my squad flanked at just the right time when they were about to smash out lines with a couple tanks, it was about 5 mins till the game ended too so this was do or die, I was support and me and my TD got a canon on a ridge over looking and we had an MG to take out the infantry, it was literally perfect. We were able to completely shut down their push, commander shouted us out and we each got at least 2 commendations each

Also, im good at being sneaky in rl and games, im also good at spotting people and spotting lying people. It is worth noting that since the release of this video the game has had an update to dismantling where doing it together gives you a speed buff. The more people taking a garry/node/airhead/supplies down together at the same time, the faster it goes!
It is now worthwhile to take things out by hand in a group.
This means that since this change has been introduced, it is often much better to take it out together. It is faster and more importantly; quiet.

    • @SoulSniperYT
      @SoulSniperYT  11 місяців тому +1

I usually have no idea where I get killed from unless theyre right in front of me, so it can't be that the dead guys are calling out where they get shot from.
Maybe they can just pinpoint the sound of my shots in the middle of the rest of the cacophony somehow. If so, we'll kudos to them, I could never be that sweaty.

@@randomite88 audio clues definitely play a role here. Experienced players can hear the difference between most of the weapons (mp40 vs Thompson, STG vs BAR, etc.) and footsteps can also heard heard quite clearly, especially with a decent headset. If you've flanked the enemy, you have probably caught them off guard and are likely near their OP or garrison, or inside the strong point. These are areas they want to protect at all costs, so if one goes down, usually they warn their teammates nearby as you mentioned. Also, there is a slight visual indicator that very briefly flashes on the screen when you get hit. photos.app.goo.gl/EiQWxQqPeKNHirzs6
I'm usually able to tell the general direction I'm hit from and can sometimes turn and return fire quick enough to take people out. But yea, honestly you're still fairly green. Give it some time and you'll likely start doing more damage in those scenarios. I'm working on the assault role guide video now which has a lot of combat effectiveness tips since that role is all about killing. Hoping to have it uploaded this week. 👍

    • @Sniper0502

    • @isaiasweber6222
      @isaiasweber6222 Рік тому +2

@@Sniper0502 I do! I'll try to keep them brief and helpful (not in order of importance):
      1. Expect enemy recon to show up and harass you, do what you can to make their job harder
      a. Get a unused truck stationed in front of the arty you are using
      b. Drop an OP to serve as a "radar" against enemies
      c. Spread some mines if you can, yourself or from friendlies (the more the merrier)
      2. Use your preferred arty calculator, have it on your phone or a separate screen (hell let loose artilly calculator -> google)
      3. During reload (when solo on arty), you can press F1 to change to the gunner spot when the loading bar reaches the ammunition bar (more or less, pay attention to it), this will save you precious seconds between shots
      4. Pay attention to the ammunition count (press tab and check upper left screen), don't fire if running low. Learn to pace your shots.
      5. Make full use of icons requesting arty as well as allied flares and recons, fire on those spots as long as allies are not too close to it
      6. Communicate with your team letting them know where you are firing (name of objective or grid location)
      7. Remember that you usually have 20+ seconds between you firing your gun and the shell hitting. Always shoot where you think the enemy will be in 20s
      8. While on reloader, you can hold down "2" to change to smoke, and "1" to change back to explosive shells. Use smoke only when requested or after communicating.
      9. When firing, don't shoot the exact same spot over and over, spread a little. To the sides and the inclination as well, change the angle in small numbers (such as changing 1 between shots). Use your common sense to spread the shots on an area but don't move in large angle numbers too, unless there are more enemies on the new angles you are shooting at
I just thought of these from the top of my head, so they aren't in importance order and I might have forgotten something... but that should most of it :)

    • @SoulSniperYT
      @SoulSniperYT  Рік тому +4

Open a locked squad and designate it as Arty. Then communicate a lot with the other SLs, who are your eyes on the battlefield. Ask them to mark locations on the map for arty. Communicate to them before you start shelling an area so they know to tell their squad to avoid the area. Understand that there's a delay between you firing and the shell landing. So if you are going to cease fire, know that the last shell is still in the air on track for the target. Communication is key to ensuring you don't slaughter your whole team. Just like in real life. And use the arty calculators. Google it. :)

@@SoulSniperYT When flanking goes wrong; if you make the mistake of building a flanking garrison on a public server. It's almost inevitable the *_whole team_* deploys there, so you'll likely also lose your frontline garries to a counter attack.
Suddenly the _"flank"_ is your only front, and eventually you end up having your flanking garrison locked because it's invariably in enemy territory; completely extinguishing your attack. I've seen this happen so often it's *_almost_* guaranteed in public matches.
Lesson; on public servers have only 1-2 units flank using *_outposts_* only. Otherwise you'll need agreement on which units are flanking with the understanding the garrison is only a fallback when *_those_* units lose their outpost(s).
A convincing argument for those in the meat grinder, is that they will also be on a flank when the defence has to rotate because of your flanking maneuver.
      Protect those garrisons everyone!

This is an excellent point. You'll notice I did not promote building a Garrison, just placing an outpost. This is why. People tend to spawn at whatever Garrison is closest to the enemy location. Building one while attempting to flank is an open invitation for the rest of your team to come blow your cover, lock the garrison, and lose your own sector due to lack of defense.

The problem with flanking is that it only works if your team has the best players anyway. Because it takes a very long time to do a proper flank, and during all that time, your team is missing a whole squad in the meat grinder. If all players on both teams are of equal average skill, that means your team will get pushed back while the flank is going on, simply by weight of numbers. If they don't get pushed back, then your team simply better on average at spotting and hitting enemies, and you could have won by simply grinding it out in the centre.
Also, if the other team is competent, then they will send out flanking squads of their own, and then you just have two meat grinders - the one in the centre and the one on the flanks. At the end of the day, this game is won by spotting and shooting enemies and building more garrisons in better positions.

Your point about defense is very true lol. Though I wouldn't call what most people do flanking. It's more like pushing directly into the point straight from the last strongpoint in a straight line!

The tactics are revolving matter Discovery North Carolina ( me too NC ) . Like chess, you counter when you observe the enemy doing something. They are smart also. Usually, I have found, it's the squad leader who commands the field. They may or may not have coordination between other squads. When another squad is in sink with the program it's a sight of beauty and deadly results for the enemy!

you use cover and concealment to move around the sides/flank of the enemy. duh

That's why I sometimes create a locked squad and just play solo SL, since many players don't pay attention to flanking at all, and blaming you for setting up an OP far away from the frontline.

Man i wish so hardly that the devs would make the Mg gunner holding the Mg in the right way and not like it's a automatic Flak gun with the stock in the chest....that looks so stupid and unrealistic.

Go where enemy dont expect u???? He dont will expect me anywhere coz in this game there isnt a single secound u know where enemy is and from where he comes.
Kill garnision? Stupid? I cant know where they are!
Flank? No reason to do so. U start running till u die, than respawn and repeat it over and over again till the game is over, thats the game, Idk why it matter where i run to get killed
Flank enemy when u are i defanse??
Again, u CANT CANT and CANT flank a enemy in a game where u dont know at any secound where the enemy is! U dont know at any secound if hes in front, left, right or behind u in this game! Heeeellloooo??

You are saying my videos are unhelpful, yet your reasoning is because you can't find the enemy or anticipate what's going to happen next in the game or find an enemy, garrison, etc. How long have you even been playing? Sounds to me like You aren't really willing to Stick it out and improve and learn.
