Be medic. Play pistol smoke loadout. Get stuck in artillery fire. Wave pistol around. Know its useless. Scream. Go to revive player. Crawl. He respawns. Throw smoke. Crawl back into trench. Aimlessly fire pistol. Run. Get blown up by friendly grenade. 10/10 class.
Did you watch the video? There are tactics you can use to make the medic role much more useful. I'm not saying it's the most useful in the game - far from it. But it can definitely be impactful in certain scenarios. Recognizing those scenarios and then using the right strategy goes a long way.

Communication is always good. I also wait a few seconds to see if their distance to me is shrinking. If so, I assume their coming and wait for them unless I have a pressing reason to redeploy, like low ammo or if I want to redeploy at a different area or something.
Yea, and in fact suppression effects are reduced when near your SL as well as a certain number of squadmates, though I'm not sure how many. Something I'll probably test more in depth for another video sometime.

I'm aware of the distance of local comms volume varies, so I tell the patient at 20m "stay awake" or "I got the good stuff brother" etc depending on the interaction. I average only 25-32 revives per match, and 90%+ of the time I refuse to equip a weapon for immersion purposes. I give local radio heads up that I'm in the area, have a box of bandages, and do either diversion or concealment smoke where needed to help the assault/defence. Immersion skyrocketed as medic after initially trying rifleman then machine gunner. I do machine gunner as a main in other games not HLL. Best medic game was at the Remagen Bridge. My random squad was "artillery squad" with extremely proficient radio within squad and command. I went frontline at the bridge, and relayed troop movement, revived, bandaged, smoked out, confirmed our "artillery spotter/overwatch" who directed shelling, and I gave local comms to the friendlies on the bridge when artillery was going to either smoke or HE specific areas with a set number of shells. Other squads held the bridge, used the comms I gave of relayed artillery timing etc to coordinate movement, and pushed forward nicely.

hey @soulsniper! thanks for the vid and your insights on the medic class. my sql of choice always asks for a medic in the squad, even though monoespecial thinks very different. i think that the very low ammo in the loadouts for the medic and the missing primary arm in the second loudout are my primary concerns why i dont like the role too much. i have played it a little bit and i can only agree, that the voicechat between patients and medics is gold! further, in order to change the meta of medics in the game, their loadout and the amount of picks by players must change, i think then the role would become much more viable in much more situations. Give them ammo, give them a descent gun and there would be much more medics on the field. oh and i think you said everyone other class has 3 bandages, but they only got 2. 04:30
I'd be concerned that giving medics ammo or a better weapon would result in Rambo medics who aren't reviving people. To be honest, I've yet to run out of ammo as a medic. I'm always so focused on reviving people that I don't get into firefights that often. And by the time I'm low on ammo, I'm usually due to catch a bullet myself.
@@SoulSniperYT well thats a valid point, but then you need something else to make it more interesting or necessary to have a medic in the squad. ticket system?

Love playing as a medic and getting to chat with other people, plus the little roleplaying is always fun to keep things light when it gets stressful. I’ve revived people and said, “That’s gonna be really sore tomorrow, remember to ice it!”
Playing medic is honestly a lot of fun. My most played class for sure. Shame so many people immediately give up as soon as they get downed, even if they're within 10 or 15 (or even less!) meters and easily rescuable. Also, what server is this guy playing to not be immediately lasered by any enemy who spots them? I can peek a corner and get instantly sniped but this guy is running about without cover and rarely gets hit.
I remember this one time on Kursk this one dude made it his personal mission to ensure I got covering fire when reviving people. He said I was one of the best medics he had ever seen and when I asked why he said it was because I was doing my job and willing to take a risk.
Thanks for making the video, there's some quality information in here. Personally, I do get frustrated in some games when I see there are medics that are nearby but aren't prepared to come to your aid and some only want to stick with their own squad. However, I usually try to make sure I thank each medic that does provide a revive or makes the effort to cover the ground even if they get hit themselves, they spare me from a lot of black respawn screens. I find the class can often be more rewarding than others, but I don't play it often, but when I do, unfortunately, I still often find myself being too tempted and drawn into the combat and going down instead of hanging back and supporting the squad as the class is meant to do.
Late to the comments but … I remember my very 1st skirmish and my first kill in that session. There was a call for a medic and he asked for me to cover him. As we got close we came through bushes and I saw there was an enemy investigating the cries of an mortally injured soldier who was waiting for the medic coming behind me. Popped him and went into an over watch position. Medic did his job secure

Yes! It's always fun hearing people crying for a medic and the shit people say when you revive them lol. Il and some of the funniest players are medics
Generally if it comes down to the three roles you mentioned usually I would pick up the machinegunner first and ask them in local or squad to lay down a huge amount of fire, then I pick up SL and any others after that
A certain other HLL youtuber considers the medics completely useless. Though, its quite fun, and even has made pushes possible. Tho, most of the time it's just a distraction. I love thr class and love hearing my name be called to help downed players by players alive. Especially when it goes. "Get a medic for the medic!" "Get the medic for the medic going for the medic!"
@SoulSniper Totally, I've even gotten friends to load up into separate squads so we can try to roll together. Console, or well mainly Xbox can be quite boring. Sucks not having a server browser
Some of the best roleplaying comes when there are several medics on the field, when someone gets shot and everyone start screaming "WE NEED A GD MEDIC" while the downed guy starts saying they see the light or wanna go home
The difficulty of playing as a doctor is the speed of the game OR BETTER, the speed the players play. In-game death should have a bigger impact. Thus, it would become more real and also more strategic
My priorities for bandaging will always be my team. I revived and bandaged like 5-7 people once before i even thought about bandaging myself. Sadly an shot to the dome made sure i couldn’t keep up the good fight lol
I hate it when you’re running to revive a player and as you get there, they force their death and I’ve exposed myself and wasted a smoke grenade. Also when other medics don’t do their jobs
Find a new squad. Sounds like you ran into some assholes. If you're on PC, come play on my server, Soulsniper's Soldiers of Fortune. Also join my discord, we're a very chill and fun group! dsc.gg/soulsniper
So I know no one will probably read this but, even though I play as medic solely, I agree that the medical supply box has little use. Rather than some of the super convoluted solutions I've seen suggested elsewhere (e.g. forcing longer respawn times on everyone unless the medic is dead. Forcing every squad to have one, etc etc), my solution is simple and adds to the realism. 1. Ditch the medical supply box 2. When a player gets hit give them the choice of: 'be revived' - as usual, with the timer on the syrette 'end my suffering' - which actually gives them an instant respawn after they've selected the point on thr map. 'Let go' - they'll always have the existing third option to be respawned, albeit with its wait timer. They select these when the medic is making their way over (commiting to 1 or 2 in advance of the medic's arrival but with an override of 'let go' always being available) That way there's an incentive for the players to engage with the medic as they may actually respawn, away from the danger zone, faster. Especially if they are like most people reluctant to wait. All three options make tactical sense in different scenarios so I think this adds to the gameplay and gives you something to think about when you've just been shot rather than an instant 'let go'. Thoughts?
I read the comments :) Interesting idea with the instant redeploy option. I would be a bit concerned that this would lead to people always using that option though and make waiting for a medic even more rare. It's a quicker version of what people are already doing (redeploying immediately). But maybe I'm misinterpreting your idea? If you want to suggest this idea in my discord a bunch of us would be happy to weigh in and discuss! dsc.gg/soulsniper
@@SoulSniperYT maybe I didn't explain it clearly so that's helpful feedback.... The instant redeploy is ONLY effective when the medic gets to you. So you need to choose whilst he is running over to you. No syrette timer, just an immediate switch to a map and as soon as you select the spawn point you're back in. It's like a magic touch from a medic to speed up your respawn. Obviously its only worthwhile if he's close by, which he should be if he's a good medic. That way it adds to gameplay dynamics.
@@SoulSniperYT I should add that I'm not a fan of a passive buff because I think the biggest thing the medic is missing is a squad that has an incentive to engage with him. This gives the downed player the incentive and the medic more opportunities to attend to the squad members in a more realistic and meaningful way without feeling like it's them doing him a favor by waiting 😀
Go for easy saves and announce to downed blueberries you’re coming. Inform those in a hot zone if you’re going to bandage them, or if they should run as soon as you revive them.
They rly should let players CARRY fallen to safety. Like its so annoying that you risk your life to revive someone and then he glitched jumping into air and enemy instakills him. Or he died instantly just because the spot where he died.
Medics are very important. If you know, Damian is the best damn medic there is. if he’s saved your life, he gave his all and his life for you. MG - Warmachine
I love playing this class but it pisses me off when I'm charging through hell to get to a downed squad member, I get within 2m of them and they redeploy. I could have used that time to get to somebody else so thanks, a**hole.
Tactical Phrases while Reviving/Bandaging: “Hey, make sure you’re good on ammunition while I heal you.” “I threw smoke in the direction of the enemy.” “Guy that I’m 49 Meters from, I’m on the way!….Aww damnit I died” (if I die) *checks map before reviving a Squad Lead* “Hey, Squad Lead I’m reviving? Your outpost is gone, might want to get a new one ASAP” “DO NOT GIVE UP, the spawn nearby is gone!” Voice chat and a microphone is ESSENTIAL to be a good medic.
There needs to be a benefit to a medic revive other than a few seconds saved from redeploy. Something like, 2 secs of sprint burst, +2 Manpower per revive, 20 secs of not showing up via enemr flare or recon plane, etc.
I use medic cause I’ve never been good at really running around and killing other people, however, switching from battlefield to hell up loose. I have one thing in common with both those games and almost all games like that, I am very good at running around reviving my teammates I’m either a medic or a sniper for any game I play

my sql of choice always asks for a medic in the squad, even though monoespecial thinks very different. i think that the very low ammo in the loadouts for the medic and the missing primary arm in the second loudout are my primary concerns why i dont like the role too much. i have played it a little bit and i can only agree, that the voicechat between patients and medics is gold!
further, in order to change the meta of medics in the game, their loadout and the amount of picks by players must change, i think then the role would become much more viable in much more situations.
I was playing in your server yesterday and you TK'ed my accidentally... You make great and informative videos dude, keep'em coming!
Lmao yes I remember. You were but w couple of pixels in the distance and the icon wasn't showing, so I ended you lol. My bad bud! I appreciate the kind words, thank you!

Medic gives me a good reward feeling
Love playing as a medic and getting to chat with other people, plus the little roleplaying is always fun to keep things light when it gets stressful. I’ve revived people and said, “That’s gonna be really sore tomorrow, remember to ice it!”
Some real silly geese out there!
Awesome video actually had no idea about the suppression mechanic
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Feel free to join my discord to hang out, squad up, etc. Discord.gg/soulsniper
6:52 I got the Audie Murphy achievement in that very same spot with that very same gun the other day. They just kept coming! lol
in every game i always play as a medic cuz i love it
medic is always my favorite class in shooters it started with bf3 and ive been maining medic in Post scriptum and hll. Good tips.
They should add the pacific theater or the Italians to the axis so it’s not just the Germans
Hopefully someday!
Respawning eats manpower and increases spawn times
Best hll medic guide hands down
roleplaying as medic is one of the most fun experiences in the game
Love it when medics get super into it. Or when people waiting for medics scream, cry, etc. Lol
I remember this one time on Kursk this one dude made it his personal mission to ensure I got covering fire when reviving people. He said I was one of the best medics he had ever seen and when I asked why he said it was because I was doing my job and willing to take a risk.
Thank you! I’m a new player and my teammate needs a medic so this was really helpful.
I also watch downed enemies, if they linger its a good sign a medic is nearby.
I use the alt load out to force myself to focus on reviving other players
Late to the comments but … I remember my very 1st skirmish and my first kill in that session. There was a call for a medic and he asked for me to cover him. As we got close we came through bushes and I saw there was an enemy investigating the cries of an mortally injured soldier who was waiting for the medic coming behind me. Popped him and went into an over watch position. Medic did his job secure
Being new to the game these clips are great the medic is my favorite role.
Great guide man! most of my content is Medic based and I was starting to think I was alone :)
I'll have to check it out. Medic isn't my main role, but it always kinda surprised me how fun it can be. It's much more chill. You should join my discord and come hang with us. Discord.gg/soulsniper
@@SoulSniperYT oh yeah, I would love for you take a look at my content and give me some feedback. Medic is definitely different but I get a kick out of the revives and the appreciation other plays show me. :)
Yes! It's always fun hearing people crying for a medic and the shit people say when you revive them lol. Il and some of the funniest players are medics
99% of medic players don’t even bother reviving you while you literally under their feet. I don’t see why they even play that role
Played my first game after watching this, and I had 37 revives. Joined half way through, and I think I’ve found my new role.
Pretty solid for your first go as Medic! Well done!
Generally if it comes down to the three roles you mentioned usually I would pick up the machinegunner first and ask them in local or squad to lay down a huge amount of fire, then I pick up SL and any others after that
I really do love machine gunner, especially on defense. Very fun!
Don't forget to kiss your teammates on the forehead after reviving
A certain other HLL youtuber considers the medics completely useless. Though, its quite fun, and even has made pushes possible. Tho, most of the time it's just a distraction. I love thr class and love hearing my name be called to help downed players by players alive. Especially when it goes. "Get a medic for the medic!" "Get the medic for the medic going for the medic!"
If you enjoy playing it, then play it. I find it fun from time to time and a nice change of pace. Totally different vibe!
@SoulSniper Totally, I've even gotten friends to load up into separate squads so we can try to roll together. Console, or well mainly Xbox can be quite boring. Sucks not having a server browser
your videos really are the bomb! (no pun intended)
Do your best to communicate to people so they know you're coming. But yea, doesn't always work and can get frustrating at times.
Iv used the word inchworm more times in this game than I have my entire lifetime. Very helpful words
Lol I hear you man
Today i got a +1 at the end of a match by you in your server !
Heeyyyyyy thanks for playing! What's your name in game? You should join the discord and play with us regularly. discord.gg/soulsniper
@@SoulSniperYT Ojisan, I'm new to the game but I'm watching your guides 😎 keep up the good work
@@christian7601 well welcome man! Glad the guides are helpful!
I've been told that medics are useless and i got yelled/kicked out of a squad for being a medic , i have 10 hours in game what do i do
Find a new squad. Sounds like you ran into some assholes. If you're on PC, come play on my server, Soulsniper's Soldiers of Fortune. Also join my discord, we're a very chill and fun group! dsc.gg/soulsniper
Opening line was fire 🔥
So I know no one will probably read this but, even though I play as medic solely, I agree that the medical supply box has little use. Rather than some of the super convoluted solutions I've seen suggested elsewhere (e.g. forcing longer respawn times on everyone unless the medic is dead. Forcing every squad to have one, etc etc), my solution is simple and adds to the realism.
1. Ditch the medical supply box
2. When a player gets hit give them the choice of:
'be revived' - as usual, with the timer on the syrette
'end my suffering' - which actually gives them an instant respawn after they've selected the point on thr map.
'Let go' - they'll always have the existing third option to be respawned, albeit with its wait timer.
They select these when the medic is making their way over (commiting to 1 or 2 in advance of the medic's arrival but with an override of 'let go' always being available)
That way there's an incentive for the players to engage with the medic as they may actually respawn, away from the danger zone, faster. Especially if they are like most people reluctant to wait. All three options make tactical sense in different scenarios so I think this adds to the gameplay and gives you something to think about when you've just been shot rather than an instant 'let go'.
Thoughts?
I read the comments :)
Interesting idea with the instant redeploy option.
@@UsernameWitheld hmm let me give that some thought and I'll let you know what I think!
Thanks for this tutorial i just played a game and got 67 revives very helpful
That's awesome, great job man!
Thanks
Awesome videos. Thanks for all you do 👍🏼
Go for easy saves and announce to downed blueberries you’re coming. Inform those in a hot zone if you’re going to bandage them, or if they should run as soon as you revive them.
OH LAWD THEY COMIN
Hahha
They rly should let players CARRY fallen to safety. Like its so annoying that you risk your life to revive someone and then he glitched jumping into air and enemy instakills him. Or he died instantly just because the spot where he died.
2:06 all three people start bandaging the revived soldier 😂
I found medics are extremely important when flanking or holding a flank with your squad. Theyre vital to not getting overran.
They have their place in certain situations if played well.
I’m pretty much just extra smokes and moral support. I post near an SL or an MG and become a bandage and morphine machine.
Nothing wrong with that man!
Medics are very important. If you know, Damian is the best damn medic there is. if he’s saved your life, he gave his all and his life for you. MG - Warmachine
Very helpful as a focused medic :D +
I love playing this class but it pisses me off when I'm charging through hell to get to a downed squad member, I get within 2m of them and they redeploy. I could have used that time to get to somebody else so thanks, a**hole.
Tactical Phrases while Reviving/Bandaging: “Hey, make sure you’re good on ammunition while I heal you.”
“I threw smoke in the direction of the enemy.”
“Guy that I’m 49 Meters from, I’m on the way!….Aww damnit I died” (if I die)
*checks map before reviving a Squad Lead* “Hey, Squad Lead I’m reviving? Your outpost is gone, might want to get a new one ASAP”
“DO NOT GIVE UP, the spawn nearby is gone!”
Voice chat and a microphone is ESSENTIAL to be a good medic.
Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Man, do I hate team mates ‘letting go’ just right after I dodged lead running through a field to them. But the ‘thank yous’ are great.
I shall use this guide and my knowledge to be the first person to get the achievement "Beat the Dev (medic)" - "Revive more than 63 players"
Great video
Thanks dude, I appreciate it!
Medic needs more ammo
sometimes i just want a break from killing things so i play medic
A good medic reduces the running simulator out of this game
Indeed!
LEROYYYYY JENKINNNNNNNNS!
great video! whenever i play medic everyone dies as soon as I get to them even as Im yelling for them to stay up lol
Yea a lot of people would rather just redeploy than wait for the medic to maybe - or maybe not - make it to them. For me it's situational.
