Band: TOOL Song: Pneuma Album: Fear Inoculum (2019) Mix & Master by Leo Barba Video by David Arteta Guitar: Andrew De La Rosa Bass: Juan Lopez Drums: Leo Barba Amps: Neural DSP
a friend who's usually sending stupid shit shared this, I thought it was going to be a total disaster, the drums at the beginning sounded strange but not something a beginner could do, the guitar sounded like it could use a bit of intonation, but after that couple of things it turned into an impressive performance...
Silverburst les pauls have went to the moon. My buddy has the exact one that tool uses and lemme tell you. Butter. That shoukd be its name. 15k for one now.
Would love to see how good the drummer could do with the tech like Danny has, cuz he fucking killed it without any of it and it was awesome, great job dude.
Wow.... I've been playing more than 20 years... saying that because I know how much time and effort goes into learning, writing and performing... and I can only image the many long hours it took to learn that song and to get to a point to play it together well. We'll done guys. That's a huge achievement!!!! Wow!
This might be the closest we ever get to a pro shot version of this song live. And I love that the guitarist transposed the synths to guitar at 6:00, sounds fucking sick
I like how I felt like I was in a washing machine. Lol. But fr, I dig how raw everything is, from the camera work, to the playing, to the set up--all of it.
Don't think anyone can do it better than this without all the hi-tech gear Tool uses in their live performance! Huge cheers to y'all for the hard work and hours of practice to do this cover proper justice and then sharing on the You Tubes! Most of all, love to see how much fun y'all are having playing this and not making it look like it was too much work and no play! Well done amigos!
1st .. Absolutely perfect cover in with every instrament. 2nd absolutely perfect tool cover! 3rd props to cinematographer/ camera guy or girl ..i see what your doing ....nice for real . I dont know who you guys are, just ran across the video listening to tool covers but whoever you are and whatever you do u dont stop Just .......dont stop .
As a Tool fan for many many many years I have to say that you guys should be proud ! I was 99% sure that the result wouldnt be good but damn it was. Keep on practicing and spreading the Tool greatness! \w/
The look of concentration on the drummer's face is brilliant. Hats off to him for doing what most drummers do, which is carry the whole performance. But great musicianship all round. Well done, guys.
Props for the a badass tool cover. Best one Ive seen yet. Yall play tight and got it together. Love all the extra creative things you did to get the song right.
I clicked this video sarcastically thinking.. “this oughta be good” 12 minutes later I scrolled down to see I wasn’t the only one that was impressed. Gotta give respect where it’s due. 🤘
Very creative drumming to make up for a lack of high wizard danney carey drum tech. truly impressive
Im just glad hes playing the polyrhythm. Before I could do them it was hard to find videos of other people doing them correctly to learn.
Yeah man, this dude is bringing something to table. 👊 This is legit.
Someone buy this man some new cymbals though
And the cameraman also.😂
Actually he's pretty good. Really impressive. Carey would be proud
Covering Tool is like boxing. You get instant respect for stepping in the ring. Well done.
Drummer shows up wearing a Zappa shirt and ready to jam some Tool. It was all we hoped for.
He delivered.
I expected this to be bad. It was not. Well played.

Me too, very very good
Proof that you don’t necessarily need professional gear sponsored by musicians when you know what you’re doing

It's true, even though those Mesa's sound absolutely PERFECT!!!!
They're playing on professional gear.
Duh, every musician ever knows this lol.

Quality, good tone, good timing, great phrasing, tight mixdown, respect
As a guitar player, I’d be proud of this. The drummer is pretty spectacular. Very impressed.
Not very often do you see a drummer slay this well. Danny would be a very proud man if he saw this. Fantastic job, all three of ya.
This might be the closest we ever get to a pro shot version of this song live. And I love that the guitarist transposed the synths to guitar at 6:00, sounds fucking sick
lol. What?
And then when he pushes that button with his foot to make it sound dirty again.
Amazinguh!!!!!!!

Those first 5 words caused my jaw to drop.
I’ve been playing music since the 1700s and I’ve never seen musicianship like this before. Talk about another level. Real game changer.

That bass tone is so good, as soon as I saw the stingray I thought ‘oh no!’ but that tone was solid and dialled in perfectly. Great job.
