You don't want to do anything difficult, do you? Tool's a challenge for many drummers and you make it look easy. KC MO? I have family there, will def make an effort to be there. Trying to keep a handle on age - 15 in '19? Turning 19 this year, eh? Tell me you were together in Jazz Band - collectively, you're all well trained.
@@KStebleton we were all 15 as of June ‘22 which was when this vid was filmed. I’ve been in and out of a whole bunch of bands and so have the other 2 guys.
I was thinking the same thing. I don't even play music but anyone can appreciate the complex rhythms of Tool... your drummer is a badass. No offense to the other guys lol... just saying.
@@markdunn756 They deserve loads of credit for even attempting, being into (at their age) and still being able to play this song. But the drummer just, wow. Yeah, he was something else. As per the other musicians, and I don't want to distill a notion of judgment or comparison - just as capable of producing and engineering their own unique style/sound.
As a drummer and Danny carry fan, yes he's nailing it. I bet he watched the UA-cam drum cam video of this song a million times. Idk how else u learn it
Yes, the drummer is very talented. If I was the parents of this kid I would forgo all ambitions of him becoming a lawyer or a doctor and send him to school for percussion. For being 15-17 years old he is KILLING it.
Holy shit. If I were at home on a summer afternoon and suddenly heard this song being played live in my neighborhood, I'd be running down the block like a child chasing an ice cream truck. Nice job!!!
I can't believe I stumbled upon this video. A few 15-year-old kids playing Pnuma from TOOL in 2022. Gives me hope for the future of music. Props for even trying this song and that drummer is phenomenal!
This is how great bands come to be. You each have great talent but I’d wrap that drummer in bubble wrap. Don’t ever let him get hurt. Great job to one of my faves. 👍
Great cover, but a major shout out to the kid behind the kit. Great job improvising on the limited kit through the incredible middle section. Great job all around guys!
That was incredible. As a guitarist and Tool lover, the drums and bass were insane. Especially with tones and timing. Don’t take that as a knock on the guitarist- dude was cool as a cucumber through the entire piece and was the main melody throughout- bravo!
That drummer is the shit!! I'm a Bass player.. Been playing for over 30 years and this Bass player is amazing as well... Same goes for y'all's guitarists!! Great job all the way around you guys!! Don't stop playing.. I see good things coming y'all's way!! 🤘🏼😝
YES! This is how greatness is achieved in music. I miss the days of garage bands and just getting together and making music and sucking so bad until it all finally starts to come together and sounds amazing. Also, dude that drummer is a rarity and you dont ever want to lose him
The fact that they’re so young and have interest in that type of music and play instruments on the top of that shows they’re above average. Rock on kids 👏✌️👍🤘
Nice drumming!!! Pneuma is NOT an easy track to learn. Especially with the polyrhythms section...and on a 5 piece too! I am thoroughly impressed with that young man. The band did ok for trying to cover that track. Again, it is NOT an easy track to play, especially with no vocals to use as reference. Well done lads! Well done.
It’s always fun to watch these kinds of videos. Since this song is instrumentally focused on Danny Carey (the 🐐) this youngster definitely has some talent, he’s on his way for sure. 🤟🏼
Great stuff fellas!!!… I was doing the same thing at your age, but to a much less impressive degree. KC, as others have said… Damn, my man!!! As impressive as I’ve seen at that age. Ignore all the shit comments on here, they just wish they had the dedication to a craft of any kind that would allow them to shine like you just did. To my fellow bassist: good job bud. If you wanna fall in love with Bass, bust your a** and save up enough money to get yourself a growly, woody-toned bass. I’m a Warwick man myself. Feeling that growl when you play will open up your creativity, or at least it did mine anyway. To the guitarist, you have the 2nd hardest part in that song, especially with the alternate meter in the verses. Keep at it man. That PRS is gorgeous. I’ve seen people in the comments talk about your guitar/amp combo, but they’re just haters. There’s a lot to be said for a guitar that is properly setup and plays as easily as a PRS. It’s just a more enjoyable experience to play a quality instrument like that. And lastly, to the entire band. In no time at all, you guys will be writing your own songs, and playing venues. My best advice is to be humble with each other. A band is a hard thing to keep together. Egos are poisonous. Treat each other like brothers, and when it comes to writing, listen to every idea. Actually lay down every idea that each member has for parts. I can’t tell you how many times me or one of my ex-band mates suggested a part, and it was shot down before we ever even heard it, then once it was laid down, and other parts were laid over it, it was absolutely the right choice, but you can’t hear a fully fleshed out part completely when someone just plays their one instrument as an idea. The recording tools are so readily available these days, that you should all get proficient in digitally recording your instruments. I know that was a novel that I just wrote, but those were some of the pitfalls that we encountered over a decade of playing/touring/recording together, and it’s eventually what led us to go do other things, instead of continuing to play together. Again, fantastic job. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Guys!! How old are you all?? This is very impressive. I started playing the drums when I was 13, didn't get this tight until my mid twenties. At 34, I still struggle through a lot of Tool. You're all going to be somebody, keep it up.
All 3 of you absolutely killed it! As a former drummer and huge TOOL fan, I gotta say that young man playing Danny Carey polyrythmics had me playing air drums lol Totally impressive cover guys! 👏 😎 🥁
In highschool I was a drummer... Led Zeppelin.... Danny blew my mind when I watched him years later. This kid is so far ahead of anything I did.... WOW

And just when I had lost all faith in the younger generation I stumble across this and realize there is still hope yet. So good to see some younger folks getting in to Tool.
I have to agree with everyone else that commented. To the drummer, you f'n nailed it my man! Holy shit! Danny Carey writes nontraditional music in hard to duplicate tempos. Not just any drummer can sit behind a kit and rock a Tool cover. Especially with what little you have to work with in comparison. Keep beating those drums! You have a bright future ahead of you!! I'm a guitarist myself and i think the guitarist and bassist did a phenomenal job as well. Keeping tempo and maintaining time playing that song (or most any Tool song) I'm sure isn't easy by any means. You guys kicked the song's ass though! Keep rocking fellas!
In rank of assumptions… the bass player and drummer were childhood friends. The drummer has been playing since a young age, bass player thought it was cool, joined as a tween, found the guitar player.
