Okay just the snapping of the locks tells the level of professionalism and workmanship that had gone to build this. I'm saving up.
Thank you! Glad you noticed and appreciated the "snap". 😉
Nice build. I like the contrast of the G10 and the acid wash. Thanks 🎸🔪

I've been watching your work for a long time. You are a wonderful master, inventor and knife jeweler! :):) I respect your work, your way of communicating ! (I think that the G 10 will not withstand prolonged, point, contact loads. Therefore, it is preferable to make intermediate plates from metal)

Ok you just blowed my mind, that’s the best looking one I’ve ever seen and my favorite color is orange 🔥🤯
Awesome! I am glad to hear that!
So YOU are the guy who buys up all the good SAK's when Amazon has them on sale ! LOL
Lovely choice of build music BTW ! Makes this very easy to watch !
The acid etching and wash makes for a really nice modern finish too !
😇 Don't know what you are talking about... 😝🤞🏻
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video.
I curse Victorinox for their lack of riveted on scales with most of their knives, but you somehow managed to put on solid scales on this victorinox and even retain the small tweezers in there. Respect, I really dislike the celidor scales. Nice video.
Yeah, with them mass-producing and trying to keep the prices low, they sacrifice quite a bit of quality.
Thanks for watching!
Great
Thanks!
Well, although technically not a real spyderco blade, because it's their budget company with blades from china, this is still a very impressive mod mate! Love the idea of putting a one hand opening blade on a victorinox and the finish you put on all the tools looks insane with these titanium scales! Awesome job!
Yeah, some of my subscribers said I should call it a Byrdnox instead of Spydernox. 😅
Thanks!
@@FittoSurvive yeah maybe consider this :D either way really awesome builds dude! Had a look at your website and they truly look great! ✌️
@@conabot Thanks. Glad to hear that you checked out my website. 👍🏻👍🏻
Another sick build. I really dig it. Question - have you ever had a build with a dragonfly blade and a tanto blade, instead of pen blade shape on the V'nox blades? The build would be wide enough, as it would be like the cybertool, very similar toolset.
How did you resize the pivot hole in the spyderco blade?
I peened in a brass rod and re-drilled it to the needed size.
Thanks for the demo, where do you get the pins from for re-assembly?
I order them from Amazon. amzn.to/3X4OyU8
amzn.to/3Ymb5gn
Would it be possible to shape a half stop into the Robin blade?
Possibly. But I have never tried that.
Question - how come you leave the spacer for the small blade oem? & don’t make it out of the G10
Good question. Main issue is getting the G10 down to the exact right thickness.
Wow!! Just amazing, how did you get the pivoting hole on the spydico blade to match the victorinox. The victorinox looks smaller?
The Victorinox pivot hole is smaller. I peened in the pivot hole then re-drilled it out to the correct size.
How do you effortlessly press it all into place? 😅 I use fishing line to give me some pull leverage to get the pieces in.
The first layer can be quite a pain to get into place, after that they go easier.
Can you make a custom sak rangergrip?
I haven't made any 111 mm custom SAKs yet. Maybe someday I will.
Bonjour
J'aimerais savoir où trouver les pièces détachées.
Beau travail
Hello! Spare parts can sometimes be found on Ebay (in America). But I scavenge all of the parts that I use from knives that I disassemble.
Okay now that is a good combination of serrated and normal blades.
I have two technical questions.
1. When grinding the knife, won't of ruin the hardening of the blade? ( Some manufacturers Harden only the sharp edge similar to screw drivers or bits. Unless I'm mistaken)
2. Again with the metal hardening, won't the acid etching make them soft or something?
Excellent questions. I keep the blade cool while reprofiling it. I have not had any difficulty with the hardness of the edge after grinding it. I never thought about the possibility of just the edge of the blade being hardened, interesting thought. 👍🏻
The tools are only in the acid for 3 minutes, enough to give it the dark color but not long enough to compromise the metal.
So was there any modification needed to make the spyderco blade work?
Yes, it had to be re-profiled, thinned, and the pivoting hole had to be made smaller.
Did you make the hole in the Byrd smaller? No carving on the backspring for that layer, huh? Just made the Byrd match the profile of SAK blade?
Yes, I peened in the pivot bore of the Byrd blade and redrilled it out to 2.5mm. I didn't have to modify the spring, just the Byrd blade.
Looks mint have you done one without acid etching
Thanks. Yes. I have. Check out my website for more of my work. www.f2scustoms.com
How much are those two cases of parts you have there?
One costs between $67 - $99 depending on where you find it. They are hard to find "in stock".
nice build, modified spyderco blade could have longer edge, or similar arc (like before modification), because now it is look like, that one quarter of full blade do not have usage, but this is personal opinion (or maybe inspiration for next builds :)
The blade has to be shaped like this or it will tap on the spring or pins. But, I too do not like having to reprofile the Spyderco blades, so I found a way to add the Spyderco blades without reprofiling them. Check out some of my other videos to see them.
@@FittoSurvive sure, this would require some reprofiling of blade, without that, it is hard to do it better.
Correct.
Hello, is it possible to do the same, but with a blade from Dragonfly 2?
Hey, yes. It is possible.
Where do you shop for G10?
www.makermaterialsupply.com
Where can I get one of these made for me?
Looks like you found me. 😜
Love the content keep it up. just out of curiosity can the beautiful phillips on the 58mm be used on larger sizes. a 91mm or 111mm with the rambler phillips 🤤
Thank you!
No, the phillips from the 58mm is too small to fit in the 91 and 111mm ranges.
@@FittoSurvive even as a back tool
@@ashsmall8103 That is an interesting idea. I could try that. Might be a bit too thick to fit anywhere though.

😂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Glad to hear that.
@@FittoSurvive Then I saw the price. Gonna be saving up though
@@ddd7864 😂😂😂👍🏻
Do you take commissions for custom victorinox? I have not found the combo Id like. Just stock components. 2 blades can and bottle saw file scissors and Phillips head on the bottom and hook and awl on the bottom if needed. And of course tweezers and tooth pick.
I do accept custom orders, but my waiting list is about 18 weeks at the moment. Check out my website for links on how to contact me. www.f2scustoms.com
Beautiful piece, but when you closed the big blade in the presentation and the cutting edge hit the small blade: ouch
Thank you.
I had to re-watch the video to figure out what you were talking about. 😝
The Spyderco blade doesn't hit the small blade. When the knife closes, it "bounces" against the spring and comes open a bit sometimes.
@@FittoSurvive ah I see. That's good. To me it looks like it snaps against the small blade, which would be a shame if after all that work it had such a flaw...
I like that you checked right away 😁
@@Kleiner_Lutz 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I would say this knife is more practical for left handed people because of main blade positioning (far right). Left handed people can open it by one hand, and right handed people like you use both hands. Am i right :D?
Yes, the Spyderco is on the left side of the knife. It can be opened with one right hand, but you have to use your middle finger to open it.
I’m more than tempted to ask if you’re able to make a g10, titanium, mkm malga6, böker techtool and spyderco s110v ukpk mash up, but I dread to think of the work involved 😂😂😂
Does sound like a lot of knives to modify. 😝
@@FittoSurvive agreed, but he’ll, it seems we both enjoy a challenge. Keep up the interesting work bud👍👍
@@tts3874 I will definitely look into that idea. 😁
Hey Cody... do you polish your G10 liners ? What's involved, maybe you have a video ?
I bought some G10 material, red & black colored, and they obviously need some sort of polishing... I know the edge is the most important part, but the large surface area probably needs it too... yours look really nice !
You do great work... makes me wonder how you got all the extra parts... besides salvaging them from junkers or "great deal" knives !
Hey!
Yes, I polish the sides of the G10 liners after cutting and shaping them. The sides I only polish next to the pivoting points of the tools. Here's a video where I show more of the G10 liner process. ua-cam.com/video/CiqWZaOGgv0/v-deo.html
Yes, my spare parts have come from knives that I have disassembled. Some of the parts are older, others are brand new. 😅
Do you use various grits of sandpaper... up to something like 1000 ? Then wax or a polish like Flitz ?
Obviously, you would have to try and not remove too much material in the process.
Hi do you sell them as wood love to own this one keep up the good work

Hey man, do you ship to Malaysia? This is absolutely gorgeous!
Hey. Yes, i ship worldwide via FedEx.
I saw a comment earlier that you have to re- profiled, thinned and the pivoting hole had to be made smaller. Can you please explain how you are able to reduce the pivot hole size?
I am curious about the strength integrity when blade is being used.
Yes, that is correct. The pivoting hole is made smaller by peening brass into it and then re-drilling it out to the needed size.
Haven't had any trouble with the integrity of the knife after reprofiling it.

This is super awesome! Why do you use G10 for the liners? Is it just the aesthetics or do they actually perform better than the aluminum?
Thank you! I use G10 both for aesthetics and performance. The G10 is as rigid as the original aluminum but it is more resistant to bending and it will not oxidize like the aluminum.

This is very cool, but it’s a pity you did regrind the blade as after reprofiling it is a little thick behind the edge.

Hello! I have all the information on my website: www.f2scustoms.com
But, if you are having difficulty, then here is my email address: f2scustoms@gmail.com
Well, it’s nice looking but the Spyderco blade doesn’t lock now, and the small blade is too short for serrations to be practical. The awl looks like it’d be very uncomfortable to use with the back of the Spyderco blade sticking out into the palm. I understand the desire to combine bits of both but honestly I think it would have been better to keep both knives as they were and carry both.
Yes, you are correct. The Spyderco blade does not lock on the Spydernox. Lots of interesting input, and it all makes sense.
I have a sak tinkerer that I had gotten on father's day with my initials on the larger blade. I was wondering if I could get a Spyderco blade added an leave the rest of the knife the same way that it is now?
