True mud pie is Oreo cookie crust, chocolate pudding, coffee ice cream and top with Cool Whip. (I make homemade whipped cream) it goes on freezer. I use a pie pan YUM. Keep in freezer if not all eaten. Once I had a piece left.

When I was given this recipe many years ago, the crust is the same. The layers of pudding are chocolate, vanilla, and butterscotch. If you like butterscotch, it is a very good flavor addition. Also, I never used the instant pudding, I used the boxed ones you cooked. I did not use Kool Whip; instead made my own whipped cream. Just another option. I am sure there are many! His looks delicious too, and it tastes so good! 😊
