    I got the Yamaha RXV6a /TSR-700 from Costco, its pretty solid with HDMI2.1, 8K upscaling and definitely future proof AV receiver at the $400 deal in Costco.. Yamaha's are built for solid quality and reliability, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone...

      @@TwoGuyzTech That's what I ended up doing. We got the Costco Klipsch Atmos package and 2 subwoofers. Ended up running them with the Denon, then the Yamaha (because the Denon had some fluke issues). After listening to both, we returned the Yamaha and bought another Denon. They were both good to me, but the Yamaha seemed a bit harsh in the upper end, and lacked midrange in comparison. Could definitely be my room/listening preferences, but we're happy with the setup now.
      Thanks for the review!

    I picked this up during Christmas 2020, and it's been great! The ease of use and functionality (Spotify, Internet Radio Stations) has been excellent. I have it hooked up with the Klipsch Reference Package (ironically from Costco) with an additional 2 RM41 for my own Dolby Atmos set up. I also have it directly connected to my 65 inch LG CX. Lastly, I have a Playstation 5 but it's directly connected to the TV vs the Denon, only because I wasn't sure about the HDMI 2.1 issue with receivers

      Essentially the 620s are the same specs as the 625s from Klipsch. I was deciding what unit to pair with them in order to make use of the atmos speakers on the 625s. I have a Yamaha RX-V483 that of course won't cut it. The sound is just not there and of course it is not atmos capable. Thanks for confirming that this denon is capable.

    I just bought the AV-S650H, and its pretty decent, especially for the price. Its not audiophile grade by any stretch of the imagination especially when paired with just cheap Polk T50's and 1 Polk subwoofer. I had to spend a couple days tweaking the configuration to get to where I wanted, and the Amazon Music integration is disappointing in that it only has access to PUBLIC playlists and not my custom ones. The only reason I didn't buy the 750 was because I have zero intention of ever going 7.1 in my house. Alexa integration further required me setting up some custom routines as HEOS doesn't seem to pass custom input names to Alexa, so therefore, for example, I have my PC connected to DVD .. and even though the input in named PC in the Denon config, Alexa wont switch to it by name. I had to make a routine that listened for "Alexa, switch to PC" but actually execute "Alexa, switch to DVD"

    Got this receiver at Costco for 350.00. Also bought the klipsch reference 5.1 with wireless subwoofer and the additional 12" klipsch subwoofer all on sale. Works and sounds great inside the house problem I'm having is the zone 2 output. I have to outdoor speakers at the pool sound comes through plenty loud but very tinny and hardly any bass. There is no base and treble adjustments for zone 2 speakers so im kind of stuck with crapy outside sound quality. I like a lot of the
    features and the fact I can control the volume and source with my phone. There are also no output connections for a separate amp . I would have to return it and exchange it for the Yamaha unit that Costco sells to get those features not sure if it's worth the change. I emailed text support and requested a software update with bass and treble controls for zone 2 and people could just do the firmware update would make it a lot nicer.

    Just bought the 2019 750 series after first trying the Yamaha you compare it to Tried Yamaha TWICE but had nothing but failures on so MANY levels I sent both back I never do return things but they were nightmares which is sad as we are lifelong Yamaha buyers. Now I am unable to even find these listed at Costco? I may be past my 90 day return window as well and will check tomorrow. This breaks my heart since I game over 6-9 hours a day EVERY day as I’m retired. Bummer as my new Xbox X and PS5 would love this….

      Thanks for watching and we're sorry to hear about the problems. Costco has a very liberal return policy and even if you're slightly over the 90 days, you should be able to get your money back no problem. With that said, we no longer recommend the AVR-S750H as Denon has just replaced it with the AVR-S760H which is also available at Costco and supports HDMI 2.1 features like 4K 120Hz with VRR and ALLM. 🚨 Question -
    I went with this receiver over the Yamaha of similar price point due to the expectation of warmer/richer sound. Literally placed an order at midnight after watching this very video.
    HOWEVER, I did take a gamble which I'll explain in a sec, and I'm hoping you can confirm whether or not I should be okay.
    I have an XBox Series X connected directly to an LG CX65 which does a beautiful job with 4K@120. TV in turn is transmitting audio to an older Pioneer 5.1 receiver via ARC. Stereo because ARC has it's limits. Now, I have a set of speakers that can do 7.2 and thought I'd go with the Denon even though it does NOT do HDMI 2.1 with the idea of using eARC. So, the SeriesX continues to feed 4K@120 to TV which then relays audio over eARC to this Denon receiver.
    It's my understanding that eARC can do the various 3D sound profiles, when though it's using HDMI 2B.
    Am I right that I'll be able to do full 7.2 surround over eARC? Or am I mistaken?
    I could have made it easy and give with the Yamaha to ensure 4K@120 plus DTS:X and the rest, but I wanted that Denon sound and thought this would work. What are your thoughts? Can I expect my plan to work or will I be disappointed?
    Worse comes to worst, I swap it for the Yamaha.
    Let me know your thoughts man. Thanks. Enjoying your other videos.

    • @TwoGuyzTech
      @TwoGuyzTech  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you very much for the kind words and the support! The way you explained this setup, yes, it should work as intended. eARC is capable of transmitting Dolby ATMOS and DTS:X (essentially all the same formats supported by an HDMI 2.0b 4K 60Hz connection, as if you connected an HDMI cable between your Blu-ray player and your receiver, so any configuration should work) so you'll be good! Let us know how it plays out! Hope this helps :)

    For the money, the features, and the nice, clean sound, HEOS and Alexa...and a decent remote control, this is a great 'receiver'. Your selection of speakers will make it or break it, though. I'd found that using a 15 year old set of Yamaha YMT Home Theater kit speakers (6 ohm), made this amplifier 'sing'! PLENTY of power with two subwoofers (I'm doing 5.2 w/Atmos). Reliability will be a factor. The SONY amp this DENON replaced crapped out after 4 years of little use. Now THAT was a crap receiver (gift).

    I replaced my Denon with the Yamaha TSR-700 from Costco.
    I have to disagree on two points;
    1 - even rated at 75 watts per channel, once all the digital signal processing kicks in, what reaches your speakers is roughly 60 watts - even with efficient speakers, the system struggles;
    2 - Yamaha is rated at 100 watts into 8 ohms, two channels driven at a lower distortion level. That being said, my Canton 5.1 system literally came to life - the clarity is unprecedented in comparison.
    The Onkyo is no longer available - I would have tested that AVR but it appears a restructuring is going on, and Onkyo is in dire financial straights.
    I reccomend the Yamaha - but getting used to the new look is still a struggle, but the performance its amazing.

    • @TwoGuyzTech
      @TwoGuyzTech  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching! We do agree that the Yamaha does have more power than the Denon, but we do feel that the receiver did pretty well with more efficient speakers at reasonable listening levels. We sit about 9 feet away from the front soundstage - it can be difficult for a lower end unit to fill a big room, and it only gets worse as you get further away from the screen. 👍

      Thank you for the kind words and the support! It's really hard to say. These are all great receivers and it mostly depends on the sound that you like over all else. The greater power output of the Yamaha receiver would definitely help in stereo music listening if you don't want to use a subwoofer, but I do prefer the more laid back sound of the Denon. For home theater, they're both equally as great and it mostly comes down to features like HDMI 2.1 on the Yamaha while the Denon is limited to HDMI 2.0b. It has more to do with the efficiency of the speakers, not so much whether it's a tower or a bookshelf. It looks like your speakers have an efficiency of 90dB which is pretty good. the only way to know for sure though is to try the speakers with the receiver, that way you can evaluate the sound also. @TwoGuyzTech  3 роки тому

      Thanks for watching! This is going to depend a lot on the type of sound that you like. As we mentioned, the Yamaha seemed to present more of an airy, detailed sound - while the Denon had more of a laid back and warmer sound. Power is another factor to consider - if you have less efficient speakers that you want to run full range, the Yamaha's higher power output is probably going to be a better choice. You said you’re sensitive to certain speakers and receivers, and that they give you ear fatigue. I just got my first system (pioneer VSX-1300, Polk center speaker, and 4 Aim8Two ceiling speakers). After listening to them for a short time, and at listening volumes, my ears feel full, like I have to pop them and there’s a soreness to them. It has made me want to get a different receiver. What have you done to minimize ear fatigue? Any advice would help.

    • @TwoGuyzTech
      @TwoGuyzTech  3 роки тому

      Unfortunately, it's hard to find the root cause of ear fatigue in a system. I'd say that the type of ear fatigue that I experience is very similar to what you described, I'm very sensitive to overly 'bright' and 'shouty' systems. Sometimes the only way to get around this is with trial and error, so you could try replacing the receiver first and seeing if that helps solve the problem. If your AVR also has built-in EQ, you could try toning down the upper frequencies a few dB. Hope this helps!

      Thanks for watching! It is absolutely safe to connect the HDMI coming out of your HD satellite recorder box to one of the HDMI inputs on your AV receiver. Do NOT connect the coaxial line running from the dish into the coaxial FM jack on the AVR, as this could damage it.

    You don't need a Costco membership to order from them. You just have to pay a small fee.👍🏻

    Yea... Checked four Costcos. None available. Not available online. I get tired of Costco for this very reason. I pay money to shop there, they move everything around, and half of the time don't have anything in stock.

    Great review..I always run room correction..but then tweak it as you suggest. For me the back surrounds are never set loud enough I have to strain to hear them..."are those things on?"

      Thanks for watching! Yep it's very important to tweak your system exactly to your liking. In the end it's all about enjoying the way your system sounds! 😀

    Hi; is it possible to get the Denton in multi voltage?

    • @TwoGuyzTech
      @TwoGuyzTech  3 роки тому

      Thanks for watching! Unfortunately we're not sure if Denon offers a multi-voltage version of this receiver. The S750H as it's sold in the United States is designed to run on 110/120VAC 60Hz, but they might have an equivalent model designed to be used in 220/240VAC countries. We would suggest contacting Denon support to see if they offer a similar model for your region. Hope this helps!!

    how would this receiver compare to my older Yamaha TSR 7810 from Costco?

      We have no experience with the TSR 7810 so there's no way to know for sure unless your able to compare then side by side :)

      Well does this one sync with bose qc35 or equivalent headphones. that was the problem with my Yamaha. I could not watch movies wearing the headphones because the sync was off.
