Today on TwoGuyzTech, Rob is going to be talking about the brand new Denon AVR-S760H that was just released a few days ago at Costco - which is quite possibly the best AVR you can buy at Costco right now thanks to its WORKING HDMI 2.1 connectivity which offers futureproof 4K @ 120Hz/8K @ 60Hz video passthrough.

About how much?
We didn't mention the price in the video because it can fluctuate over time, and even different Costco stores might carry them for different prices, but we paid $439.99 for our unit. Thanks for watching! :)
@@TwoGuyzTech Sure, but all you have to do is honestly express what the price you paid at the time of the video production and people will understand that prices fluctuate over time. You shouldn't be so concerned about the validity of your review, as you must know by now in life, people want to know how much the unit costs in real time so they can decide whether or not to invest in newer technology. It's sort of ridiculous that I had to search the web for the price when you guys knew what you paid about a week ago but purposely withheld the information from your viewers.
@@MichaelSmith-xs4wp Yeah, we get it - and we've actually mentioned the price of products in most of our other videos, but one thing that we don't expect you to understand not having a UA-cam channel is how much blowback you'll get when prices do change. We try to provide as much relevant information in our videos as possible, we don't think it's too much to ask to have someone do a little bit of their own research - ESPECIALLY when it comes to the price of an item they're considering buying.
We're not here to hold your hand, buddy.
@@TwoGuyzTech Aah, so your firm is afraid of criticism but not afraid of being sarcastic to others wondering why you don't mention the price of a unit you're reviewing. That makes sense.
Since you used 'budget 4K' as a key descriptor, most people want to know if they can afford the product in their 'budget'. But go ahead and play the condescending asshole role to those curious about the price; which there are many.
@@MichaelSmith-xs4wp ua-cam.com/video/96h-lVyfbHE/v-deo.html If this is your video, you failed to put the price of your product in it... and if it's not your video, did you attack their 'firm' for the same reason? I think not.
Maybe you're in a bit of a haze after smoking a few rounds of California's finest, so we'll try to spell this out as simply as possible;
No, we have no problem at all with constructive critisism. You came at us questioning our honesty and saying we *deliberately* witheld information. So yes, you deserved our negative response to your very shitty comment.
There's no firm or group behind these videos - we make them for free (or usually at our own loss) to help people who are looking to put together their own Home Theater system or anything like that... and you have the audacity to complain that not every single fact about the product was spoon fed to you as if you don't have the mental capacity to research these tiny details yourself?
You spent more time with these shitty comments than it literally could have took you to look up the price - so because you have such a hard time googling things, here's a little tutorial which may help you in the future; letmegooglethat.com/?q=Denon+AVR-S760H+price but I doubt it, as it's obvious you were only looking to troll us.
You know what? You leave a shitty comment, you'll get a shitty response. Go somewhere else with your cancerous attitude and see if you get a better response than what you got from us. We don't want people like you watching our videos.
Any point you attempt to make going forward is moot; we have the power to ban your ass from our comments section. Lmao
It's time for the GUI to not look like Windows 95. Seriously, this receiver can handle 8K video, but cannot display anti-aliased text with their on screen menu system?
The onkyo alternative has a really good looking gui. The TX NR6050 at costco. I was stuck deliberating between these two for a while
@@Time_Traveling_Lesbian which did you go with?

Great job getting this review out so fast! I bet you'll see good numbers on this video since there's so little info available online.
Haha thank you very much! We're just glad to finally be able to recommend a budget HDMI 2.1 AVR that works properly. Very happy with this unit :)
@@TwoGuyzTech Funny response as you say I can find this info "HERE":-) I figured this since I posed "HERE":-) Be careful or you'll get old as me and really spin out:-) Good news is my wife went back today and DID find one of these new units & brought one home. We have till Oct 18 to return it (the old 750 unit) so we just made it! THANK you again since my being subscribed and with the bell checked, found out about this new model IMMEDIATELY so we able to score before the masses of cheapskates like MY old returned ass finds out and clears the shelves....Wife said Costco had TONS of them EVERYWHERE today (Saturday Oct 2). I owe you guys😃 Mike
@@mikecartwrightbeach Haha no problem!! Glad we could help out man :)
Thanks for another great vid. I am considering buying some budget speakers to go with this AV receiver. My #1 priority for the speakers is to reproduce classical music accurately. I appreciate your taste in speakers, particularly your aversion to harsh sound and preference for mellow, relaxing ambiance. I am looking at a 2.1 system with perhaps a subwoofer. What speakers would you recommend for me to consider?
My jbl 530 go on sale throughout the year go down to 60 hz and you could almost get away with no sub for 95% of music. Highly recommend them when on sale. Put em on Monolith speaker stands with velcro tabs and enjoy the music.
I have the SVS Ultra Bookshelf speakers with a center channel and a SVS subwoofer. I have been running these speakers for about 3 years and am more than pleased with them and for sound quality and at this price point I don't believe you can do better. I've read some profession reviews before buying and they were saying they sound better than a lot of the higher price speakers. SVS manufactures their own speakers in the USA. This is all they do and the customer service is top notch. You need to check them out for sure.
@TwoGuyzTech - You have tried and tested both TSR-700 and AVR-S760H. My old receiver is giving some trouble and want one of these two. I need clean/crisp sound. My old receiver was 50w per channel and I barely used half the power. I have 3.1 setup. No surround speakers. Occassionaly I might want to listen to audio only stuff in pure stereo setup from the system. I have Yamaha Tower speakers. Not interested in bells and whistles of modern tech. I have a newer XBox that I use for bluray/4k movies sometimes. A lot of info. Sorry. Which one would work better for me?
Or in a simple question. Excluding tech features, just for clean sound which one you liked better?
Thanks for watching! And no worries. If we want to answer the simple question, we really did like the way that the Denon AVR-S760H sounded over the TSR-700, and it had everything working right out of the gate. We also haven't tested the newer revisions of the TSR-700 so we're weary to give them a recommendation on their HDMI capabilities and other stuff. Hope this helps!
@@TwoGuyzTech - Thanks.
8:40 why do you recommend this for the Costco Klipsh 5.0.2 even when this AVR can do only 75W but those speakers need 100w ?
Can I connect 3 ohm speakers in this AVR
What type of hdmi do you need to go from this receiver to an lg cx tv?
Hello! You need an HDMI 2.1 cable.
Just picked this up for $200 on Facebook marketplace, it's pristine and was bought one year ago. First home theater setup, so hyped
Good score! Isn't it an awesome AVR? I have mine set at 5.1.2. The back speakers being back height.
I just purchased this denon avr at my local costco and for some reason I can't seem to dial in the right sounds for my highs and mids. Can you help me out on where to tune that? Great video btw. Thanks.
Use a mic and REW. Don't need a high end mic to at least get your speakers pointing in the right directions and angled as necessary. Also room correction etc before touching any of the audyssey festures build into the AVR.
Excellent video! I went into Costco--Denver--today and saw a pallet (30+ units) of these on the floor. Got mine for $440! 🥳 Thank you so much!
No problem!! Thanks for watching! :)
I did as well can’t beat that price
Did you pay $440 at Costco? Hmm, in amazon it can be bought for $400 USD!!!
@@orestesdd Yes, I bought it two years ago
I have everything looked up. I have my Directv tv hooked up via HDMI to the Cable/Sat. I have the Roku Ultra hooked up via HDMI to the media player. the Denon is hooked to my tv via HDMI arc. When I turn everything on, it keeps loading Roku first instead of directly to Directv. I’d like to have Directv as the default, but not sure where to do this. Thanks in advance Roger
Is there any video of the best set up for this reciever?
Bought this receiver thanks to your video. 100% worth it due to my smaller viewing area. Plenty of power for my smaller Polk audio 5.1 system.
Great to hear! Thanks for watching, we appreciate the comment! :)
Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that "Cables dont matter" was essentially a mantra for like two decades, and now cables actually matter a lot. Anyone remember the old $125 Monster HDMI cables that no one needed? : )
LOL yep! Times are changing. It'll be exciting to see what new technologies come out... 8K120 gaming for instance... until we have to buy the compatible cables for it 😂
Thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuyzTech Thanks for making them! As someone who adores music and surround sound, but has been sans receiver for a few years, they are an amazing resource, and I really appreciate the amount of work you put in to help people like me parse the sea of options available. I'm still debating my final choice close to a month later, but your videos helped with the frustration from being overwhelmed.
OMG, I had totally forgot about that. Wondered why they asked for so much. Money, money, money.
Was gonna go buy the AVR-S750 model at Costco soon for my home theater set up. Not worried about the $40 difference so is it worth it to wait a little and get this newer version instead? Thx
Yes 100% get the 760
denon 760h vs x1700 ? I don't see the difference
it has all the bells and whistles
Yes it does!! Impressive for the price. Thanks for watching :)
Everytime I switch to the reciever input on my TV it turns on my playstation please help???
I’m planning on buying this receiver soon, also getting 2 Klipsch R-12SW 12”s. Would this be a great fit ?
So I recently purchased this receiver and hooked it up to my projector.. Any idea how I can have the receiver turn on when I turn on my projector? when I had the S-750H It would automatically turn on when I turned on my Epson5050UB.. Anyways the S-760H is by far worth the upgrade for the 4K!
Thanks for watching! There should be some sort of setting in the S760H to enable HDMI CEC features (this is what lets the Denon tell your projector to turn on when you turn on the AVR). We don't remember exactly where it is but the digital manual should mention it. Hope this helps! :)
voouu voouu what a channel wow!!! I am shocked, I was searching for all my life. tech paradise! thanks guys... please find one more million guys like me... we are out there!
Welcome aboard!
Thanks for your review. I have been waiting a year for a receiver that had more than one HDMI 2.1 ports that would support the Xbox Series X and PS5. Due to your review, I was able to find this at a local Costco and picked it up. This one does the trick with all features on.
No problem! Glad we could help! 👍
Hi was wondering if you were going to talk about the new Klipsch Reference Cinema System 5.1.4 with Dolby ATMOS at Costco and what's the best receivers for this system like budget wise and up I like this receiver but I don't know if it's good for the Klipsch Reference Cinema System 5.1.4 with Dolby ATMOS
Hi thanks for watching! We chose not to review/mention that system as it seems to be made with very cheap/inferior materials and is not a good value. Of course, we haven't heard it, but considering the whole system together with the subwoofer only weighs 64 pounds, we'd suggest looking elsewhere. With that said, this receiver would run the 5.1.4 pack you mentioned just fine.
Why haven't they added front channel pre-outs? Would that compete with another entry receiver they have?
Does this have a zone 2. i have ceiling speakers in garage and outside. if not whats the best option to get those hooked up to system. please help
Yes this AVR has a Zone 2 - which you can find in the manual we linked in the description - but using the second zone will disable the upper 2 Atmos channels, so you'll only have 5.1 surround capabilities. Hope this helps!
After shopping around for a full featured entry level AV receiver, I wound up buying a Costco Membership just to buy this, as it appears to be the best deal out there at the moment even with membership added on to the total.
Good to know!! A Costco membership is such a good value that you'll end up saving even more in the end if you shop there regularly. Thanks for watching :)
I have an older Samsung TV UN50HU6950 and PS4. Would it be worth it to upgrade to this? I don't think I would be able to utilize the HDMI 2.1 without upgrading the tv and ps4. My Onkyo is dying so I do need something better.
Thanks for watching! It all depends on your speakers and if you want to be futureproof for next gen TVs and game consoles. I'm not sure how this compares to the power output of your Onkyo but if it's an entry level unit, this would probably be a great replacement. Thanks for watching! :)
Denon had a real older system RMS power was awesome.
Hi, what are your thoughts on sound output if 7 speakers are connected, as it shows that it only produce 75w with 2ch driven, and there is no preout to hook up amplifier. Will it give good output with 5.2.2 setup ?
This absolutely depends on what kind of speakers they are, what size room you want to fill, your desired listening level, etc. This receiver should be fine with most speakers out there as long as they're fairly efficient - the receiver will direct power to whatever channel needs it at any given time so the rated output should be more than enough. But, of course, the only way to know for sure is to try it yourself. Thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuyzTech my setup, Klipsch (RP280F, RP450C, RP-250S, R12SW, SVS Prime Elevation)
Not sure this will help but on both this NEW unit & our now returned 750 predecessor-We used the 7 speakers we have in BOTH of the 7 speaker option layouts. I too expected big problems with it being under powered but it is FINE for us at least. We have 2 Large Tower Klipsch speakers (set to Small in settings speaker-manually) with Klipsch Center-For the Rear (or should I say almost BESIDE us but a bit behind at an angle) we have old BIC Bookshelf units that face out with speakers going out in THREE directions. Now for the 2 speakers in the VERY REAR of the living room area we have old Large Polk Towers. The space is as follows----
The Front Towers are 12 feet in front of us
The Rear Surround odd old Bics are about 3 feet away to our left & right rear
The Large rear most Polk Towers are 8 feet behind us.
Now I use this system ASLL DAY for Gaming & I game 6-12 hours EVERY day as I am 72 yrs young-retired & crippled up old USMC Combat Veteran all shot up to Hell & back so literally use this ALL day to game (distracts me from severe & chronic PAIN!). Then we use it from 6PM till midnight streaming HBO -Disney and other RGE now aging OUTLAW Subwoofer that is the size of a damned coffee table as well:-)
*Now I Game LOUDLY and we watch my movies quite loud as well since I LIKE them loud plus half deaf from fucking War. The USMC was NOT kind to my ass so using low volume is just not gonna cut it. I bought this just to prove to my wife as -POOR health etc) well as myself that it would simply be too much of a wimp for my LAST AVR (again=Poor health etc) But it surprised me. A LOT! I was set to this time spend up to $2500 for a 9.2 with ability to add another Amp or 2 to expand. But turned out this is MORE than fine for us both (sadly...) And in the end I guess when I om experience!!!)factor in just how fast these can and DO fail (especially the HDMI crap issues) and become obsolete etc. ) I just kept thinking about ALL the BEER I could buy (And GAMES!) for my new PS5 and Xbox Series X etc....The space this system operates in is pretty large with sloping Cathedral Ceilings (sadly with Popcorn as well-GRRR!). From the TV to the rear speakers is about28-30 feet long by 40 feet wide (open layout SORTA) . With the large speakers plus the stout Sub this has had NOT ONE SINGLE issue with driving all we run and at a sound level I feel most would be MORE than happy with. The sound is CRISP-CLEAN with just the right amount of punch & detail I need to JUST make it good enough for ME.
Sorry for the long post but hope it helps someone? For the PRICE? NO way I see anything as good or even close. I TRIED the all new Yamaha Costco sold-TWICE! Both units had SO many problems I bailed & returned them both. I am also a lifetime Yamaha lover and fanboy (OK Fan CODGER). I preferred their sound as well as reliability. Only had ONE ever fail me in 20 years and UNLIKE any other Brand, Yamaha gave me NO grief FIXING it! Onkyo (that I was planning to buy at Crutchfield) has NO usable Warranty & NO USABLE Service! Be advised and do an online search on Onkyo Warranty NIGHTMARES before you buy...
****Lastly I am so sorry for Typos or gibberish as I am trying my best to upload & type this from my iPhone at my Surgeons office:-( This friggin thing often types only God knows what but I'm trying to hurry before being called...
@@mikecartwrightbeach Hey Mike, thank you very much for your sacrifice and service for our country - we greatly appreciate it & thank you kindly for the post as well. A lot of great information and we're happy to hear that the Denon is working out for your setup!
P.S. We're gamers too!! Enjoy it! :)
Please can you confirm if these AVR-S760H is enough to efficiently run the Klipsch Reference Dolby Atmos 5.0.2 plus the Klipsch R-12SW subwoofer, meaning in handling the wattage channels of the home theater ??
Yes, as we mentioned in the video
Is 75 watts enough power to rock a 25x35 room? I’m using klipsh floor speakers and definitive sub
Thanks for the review but still not at my Costco in Jacksonville.
I bought this AVR but when I connect my smartphone to Bluetooth, there's a long delay between the sound and video (when I watching videos in UA-cam or Netflix ) is this normal ? Is there a way to fix this ?
Note: lip sync is ON
Yep this sounds about right unfortunately. You're not supposed to stream stuff like Netflix or UA-cam from a mobile device over Bluetooth to an AVR because you won't be able to take advantage of any of the other features of the AVR and you'll get the delay issues as you mentioned. This is fine for music but we recommend a streaming device that connects over HDMI for anything else. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching :)
@twoGuyzTech thank you so much, this is my first AVR so actually I don't know how it works🙈. But now I know that I have a great receiver. Thanks again.
Crap! I just bought the 750H a couple of weeks ago, not sure if it's worth the hassle of returning to Costco and buying the 760H???
I did return and get the 760H, love it
I got this a week ago, hooked up Klipsch cinema reference speakers, calibrated to my liking. Living in hog Heaven watching movies
Was thinking President's Day sales and came across your review, purchased at $399!
Any idea on the port bandwidth? I noticed it hit the full 32gbps on the PS5, so I’m assuming atleast 40gbps.
I'm up grading my system after about 10yr and bought this unit. it does work great overall. but doesn't have a built in sub amp to run my passive sub. so don't waste time and money with the wire to RCA adapter it wont work. the built in speaker setup works great to balancing the room and testing all your speaker.
Thanks for watching! As far as we know in our experience, there aren't any receivers that offer a powered subwoofer out channel - you'll need to get a dedicated amplifier for your subwoofer to drive it 👍
@@TwoGuyzTech yeah I had an RCA receiver that powered my subs before this on that worked good beside the size of speaker it had. But after buying the klipsch reference I had to my a new receiver to get the full new sound. But after trying to use my old subs it didn't work
Finally, one that works, awesome news for lots of folks.
Thanks for watching Nemo! Yeah it's pretty awesome!
I just bought this yesterday and I do have a Sony XH900. Sony just release the official 120Hz VRR firmware and I can confirm that 120Hz (on the PS5) as well as (up to) 120Hz on the RTX 3070 with VRR/GSync works as expected with 2 connections to the AVR (Game and Aux1).
Thanks for confirming that! It's nice to finally have working 120Hz on the X900H :)
Thanks for watching as well :)
Waiting for update for my 75 x90j
So I've got a Samsung Q70A. For months I used PC to TV, TV to old receiver. It did 4K 120hz with no issue. Now that I bought a 4K 120hz receiver I've run the connections all to receiver and put the one HDMI 2.1 connection to the TV. I've enabled 8K enhanced and Denon says my TV doesn't support 4K 120hz or 8K 60hz. PC only gets a 4K 60hz signal now. I'm lost. Game mode is on with the TV, that allows it to do 4k 120, so if there's something I'm missing that you got right or you've got suggestions please let me know. Thanks
@@garretttaylor7896 HDMI inputs might need to be configured to enhanced mode. Denon does typically 3 inputs 8k/4k-120, and the other 3 as 4k/120. I had no issues with mine. 3 do 4k/120Hz/VRR just fine. Are you using freesync or something? Sometimes switching that off and back on might reset the signal. Also make sure the TV is connected to the eARC HDMI port.
Are the HDMI 2.1 ports the full 48Gbps or are they capped lower ??
This AVR is certified to conform to the HDMI 2.1 spec, so the ports should be capable of running at a maximum of 48Gbps (which would match their claim of 8K@60Hz). With that said, until we know more about the chip that Denon is using, some things are left up in the air. For any resolutions/connections higher than what the chipset can handle on its own, the AVR will use Display Stream Compression. Thanks for watching!
Likely capped at 40Gbps, which is fine. There are, literally, no consumer 12 bit displays on the market to take advantage of the full 48 Gbps and there have been no announcements for one. It’s only a possible issue if you’re using professional monitor. It’s why the LG C9’s 48Gbps 2.1 ports and the following CX/C1’s 40Gbps 2.1 ports nerf don’t matter.
I literally just bought the Denon S750H a month ago lol. I got it directly from Denon refurbished for $325. I'm totally happy with it, but when I upgrade my TV, I know I'll want that updated hdmi.
LOL Hey that's still a really good AVR for the price. It's nice to have that future-proof HDMI but if you want to run a next-gen console through your surround sound setup, you could resort to using something like TOSLink between the TV and the AVR while still getting a HDMI 2.1 connection between your TV and your console. Thanks for watching 😀
@@TwoGuyzTech actually I didn't know that. I got it running thru the ARC right now, but I can just use the optical too. So thanks for that info!
Can this receiver be paired with Klipsch R-605FA home theater speakers 100w/400w
This is nice but the Yamaha TSR-700 is probably the better buy for budget receiver. This is a 75 watt per channel receiver while the Yamaha gives you 100 watts. Fir people with tower speakers, those extra 25 watts will be big.
I'd have to agree with you plus they actually have preouts for the fronts everyone trading in there tsr700 I feel are downgrading their sound for hdmi features that hopefully yamaha fixes if they don't I will use earc I know some of you can't so I understand good luck all!
@@DINightslayer I don't know what to think. There are lots of people saying that Yamaha is going to replace the HDMI boards with 28gbps boards. That means the video will be clipped to 4:0:0 chroma I think.
They need to have at least 40gbps bandwidth. And they need to say what they are going to do quick because they are being returned to Costco like crazy.
Also, the TSR-700 has ridiculous lip sync issues to this day on eARC. The delay is super frustrating and needs to be fixed. It wasn't mentioned in this review, but the S760H doesn't have these delay issues.
ya,but will it do 4K/120Hz @ 444 or RGB ?
422 won't cut it
Others have shown the receiver passing through 4K/120Hz @ 4:4:4 without issue from an Xbox Series X. Thanks for watching!
Would you say this is the best 8k av receiver for under $500?
Yes, as of right now we do. Thanks for watching!
How does music quality of this receiver compare to the Yamaha TSR 700?
As we said in the video, please refer to our review of the S750H for a more in-depth look at sound quality; ua-cam.com/video/P-02T9yI-Pk/v-deo.html
How did you get the TV to display resolution/refresh rate? I have the same TV and haven't seen how to do that!
Thanks for watching and sorry for the slow response! On the X900H, hop into the settings menu > enter the Watching TV submenu > External Inputs > Set up External Devices. Then click on the device you want to setup, and click on the most accurate option here (if 4K 120 HFR appears, select that). You'll get a preview of the signal and the TV will show the refresh rate and resolution. Hope this helps!
how does this receiver measure up against the onkyo tx-nr595 that costco offered last year?
As we mentioned in the video, we think this AVR has the best sound out of all of the AVRs that Costco has recently offered - the TX-NR595 included, which we reviewed on our channel
Well now, time to switch. Anyone interested in buying an Onkyo TX-NR595? Used less than a year.
I got this one because of your review and helped me navigate these confusing avr ocean
Good to hear man!! Glad we could help :)
Thank you very much for watching!
I'm new to the game and would this support my set up and if not what do you recommend?..Would it also be smart to get an equilizer?
i kinda like the pioneer elite but if this Dennon will support what I have now then as a beginner I would gladly start my experience here before I move on up.
I live in a studio apartment which is basically just a large bedroom and I primarily watch movies and occasionally play my PS4
KLIPSCH REFERENCE SERIES
(2) 4" Dolby Atmos height channel speakers 100w - passive 2 way
(2) 8" dual Floor towers 600w - passive 2 way
(2) 5¼ Bookshelf speakers 340w - passive 2 way
(1) 3½ quad Center channel 400w - passive 2 way
(1) 12" powered subwoofer 400w
Thanks for watching! All of that equipment should go together well, especially in a space like that. You won't need an equalizer or anything like that, you can use the automatic room correction built into the AVR if you want to match the speakers to your room better.
The S760H would be a great choice for a starter setup like this! Let us know how it goes :)
@@TwoGuyzTech
thank you for answering!!!!! I was just worried the Dennon from Costco wouldn't be enough wattage to power all this stuff.
I was gonna save up for a flagship AVR but cool...I will purchase this then....Thank you!
Hi. Can I setup this receiver 5.1.2? And if a want to use Zone 2, the speakers needs to be Wireless? Thanks
Thanks for watching! This receiver is compatible with a 5.1.2 setup, but if you want to use Zone 2, you need to use regular wired speakers. Using Zone 2 will disable the ATMOS channels unfortunately. Hope this helps!
@@TwoGuyzTech I wonder if this Denon model could replace the Yamaha Rx V6A (it´s not easy to find and is gettin more expensive than last year...) But looks like it hasn´t the same features
I saw this AVR last night at my local Costco. It is $439.99.
Thanks for the overview
No problem!! Thanks for watching :)
Same my brother send me picture but bad thing is doesn’t have pre out :(
@@juliobello4561 I don't think pre out is going to happen at this price. Too bad, I know. You'll need a higher end unit for that
Is it still $440? And how much is Costco membership these days?
Thanks for a great review! Just ordered this directly from Denon since it is sold out most other places. Unrelated question. What Lav mic do you use for these videos? It sounds really great and clean.
Thank you very much! We're using the HOLLYLAND Lark 150 which we reviewed in this video ua-cam.com/video/617eXVbUPjI/v-deo.html
Most of this means absolutely nothing to me, all I care about is sound quality and power!
Problem is no one makes one that can do 7.2.4 for under $1600.
Thanks for watching! Let us know if this might just be the AVR you've been waiting for... 👀
Does this receiver pass the full 40 Gigabytes per second for HDMI 2.1?
I have an old Denon 1910, which has been great so far. Not amazing, but very functional after learning curve. Manual is necessary, if your earlier AVR was not a Denon. Not really different with Audyssey correction or my manual setting. I really like the stereo and direct mode for UA-cam.
I recently bought one. What are good speakers that go with this?
i wouldnt call this a budget receiver or entry level. Other than that nice review.
I just picked one up ay my local store they had 10 in there! I saw where I guy hooked it up with a series X as well.
Does this receiver pass
Through the max 40 GBs for HDMI 2.1.
Its frustrating that alot of these receivers dont have pre outs for front/center..i saw subwoofer
Yep that's pretty typical for receivers at this entry level price point. Thanks for watching!
@@TwoGuyzTech Yamaha seems to be one of the few that consistently have a decent pre out selection
I got the 750 for fathers day,I was happy with it but the 2 rear channels went out after 2 weeks of average use, finally returned it yesterday and picked up the 760,so far so good, sounds great with my older klipsch quintet 3 5.1 system, haven't used the pass through's yet but will probably try some other day,all that said, reciever is a great buy for the price.
The dedicated PHONO IN is atrocious. Would recommend that anybody with a turntable just plug their RCAs into one of the two assignable AUDIO IN ports instead.
Thanks for watching! If the Phono In sounds bad but your turntable sounds fine connected to a regular Audio In, then we suspect that your turntable has a phono-preamp built in. So if this is the case you're basically double-amplifying the signal which would sound very bad. You wouldn't be able to hear anything from your turntable plugged directly into the RCA line-level inputs if your turntable didn't have a phono-preamp built in. Hope this helps!
Hello, can you add a separate amplifier to the unit?
I just helped my friend install and wall mount his new LG CX1 last night and now he wants to upgrade his setup for all 2.1 and started looking for info for a good budget AVR that supports 2.1 today, right on time. Thanks sir!!!
Should be a good choice! Glad we could help. Thanks for watching :)
Why does your friend not go for full 7. Chanel set up? Costco has the Klipsch towers and speakers too.
@@MrOscar5690 he is cheap lol
@@Techsupportguy111 lol they have a 5 Chanel one too.. think $399. Just sharing info tho 🙂
@@MrOscar5690 he is really cheap just saying. He barely got the TV
Has anyone tried it with Xbox Series X
I'm waiting for this info as well..
Thanks for watching! This video shows that it works fine with an Xbox Series X after enabling 8K Enhanced mode; ua-cam.com/video/d6V02UkxKIU/v-deo.html
yes, I am right now. works perfectly so far.
I got the 750h a few weeks ago, exchange it?
In our opinion yes! Thanks for watching :)
I know this video is old already. But will this receiver be good for the klipsch 5.0.2 set from Costco with a the sub ?
Yes this receiver will be a good match for the Klipsch speakers, you could also consider the Onkyo TX- NR6050 Costco sells, both will work just fine. Thanks for watching!
Having a lot of difficulty getting any sound on this, can you help? we had one, then disconnected it, could not get it to work, Menu comes up fine, but no sound, bought a second , same thing NO sound, we've connected it to more than one source to test, PLEASE HELP!!
Thanks for watching! Sorry to hear about the problems you're having, what kind of speakers and source are you using? For surround sound we'd recommend testing with an HDMI source like a Blu-ray player.
With only one hdmi out, does the AVR and tv automaticly switch from ”movie mode” to game mode? I have allways bought recivers with two hdmi out, so i can have different settings for movies and games on the tv. Then i just program my harmony to switch between the two hdmi outputs. In this case i dont have to swap modes on the tv. I would be verry happy if the tv and AVR would do this automatic with one output.
I have an lg C1.Thanks for the awsome review!
Thanks for watching! Yep the receiver should put the TV into game mode automatically thanks to the Auto Low Latency Mode feature built into HDMI 2.1 so you don't have to program that into your remote anymore. Cool stuff!
Hello, if it can handle 120Hz at 4k, can it handle 240Hz at FullHd 1080p ? I would like to connect it to a 240Hz projector. Thnx
Theoretically yes, it should be able to run 1080p@240Hz, but we have no way of testing this unfortunately. Thanks for watching!
I wasn't "that" interested in the content, just mildly curious. I wasn't even going to watch the vid, but for some reason decided to read the comments. After reading the reply to Michael Smith I immediately gave a thumbs up and am about to watch the vid in it's entirety and will forward it to my audio-holic boys to watch. Finally, a man that won't take shit thrown at him. BZ to TGT...
LOL Thank you very much for the comment. We're glad someone respects it & we appreciate your support. 👍
Does this receiver have a trigger on the back to hook up an external amp? Or no?
Thanks for watching! This AVR doesn't have any trigger inputs or outputs nor pre-outs for external amps unfortunately.
@@TwoGuyzTech thank you for the response. Love your channel!
Is a Denon AVR-687 worth keeping with the newer hdmi components or just buy a AVR -S760H?
We would recommend getting the AVR-S760H if you want to take advantage of newer HDMI components, especially game consoles etc. Thanks for watching!
Hey man, how does it sound? I've got some decently big speakers and would be interested in knowing if it has enough power to push em, thanks!
I want to buy Klipsch speakers to pair with this AVR, but not sure which Klipsch speakers to get since there are so many choices. Can you recommend a set to get most out of it?
We love this system ua-cam.com/video/Nk1HpROn-98/v-deo.html thx for watching! :)
I saw this in store yesterday. I am looking fur a unit that I can connect a blu-ray player to and also a roko streaming stick. The old system i had failed, and it had built in streaming apps. This week be connected to a projector. Will this unit work? Or do you know of other units with streaming apps built into it, at around the same price point?
Thank you
Thanks for watching! Sorry to hear that your old system has issues. Yep, this unit would work great if you added on a separate streaming device like a Roku streaming stick or NVidia Shield Android TV box (our personal recommendation for Home Theater!).
Hope this helps! :)
How to connect it with my TV once I purchase it. How to test it.
Great video - what are your thoughts on this versus the Yamaha RX-V6A? How to choose between the two? Same price for me.
Thanks for watching! We would go with this receiver because you get the HDMI 2.1 features & it sounds slightly better in our opinion.
How is a normal person suppose to know all this? What's this thing suppose to do anyway?
It's like learning how to paint or how to bake a fine dessert... you have to start somewhere and it all begins with you
Great and thorough review. Love all the links in the description too. Many thanks.
Glad you like them!
The power output is very weak in my opinion. It can't drive my klipsch speaker set I bought from Costco well.
What do you mean by "can't"? I'm legit just curious what issues you are running into because I have the same setup.
@@LordBrizz I bought the older model(750) from Costco to replace my old Denon receiver(591). After hooking up, I could clearly feel the difference. The new one was not as good as the old. The 591 is 125W per Channel. The 750 is 70W(or 75W) only. I returned it immediately after couple hours testing.
Does this work well with an Audio-Technica- turntable and klispch R-51?
Yep should work perfectly! Thanks for watching!
this avr has 7.2 (two sub) how it provided atmos sound as it doesn't have atmos speaker connection pins. (ex: we can connect Klipsch 5.1.4 (four atmos connection) speakers). please suggest.
If you use this receiver for Atmos you will get 5 bed level speakers with 2 Atmos speakers.
@@TwoGuyzTech should i connect atmos speaker(front or back top L/R) to "Surround Back (L/R)" of denon s760h avr? is it right way to connect?
Really very well presented, mature, and very nice and subtle choice of words 👍. I really enjoy your reviews. I am planning to buy this receiver and I already have klipsch 5.0.2 atmos speakers with one 12w klipsch subwoofer (400w) which you have already reviewed earlier. My query is whether I should buy 2 subwoofers with this receiver or only one should be good. I mainly watch movies or documentaries or series (sometimes). How much better sound difference I should get with 2 subwoofers with this receiver like 10% or 20% or 40%. I know its subjective but please tell your experience. Thanks in advance ☺
I have the same system with the Yamaha tsr 700 and two klipsch subs. The bass reinforcement in all areas of the room is much cleaner and smoother while barely puushing them.
And no more dead spots. And they are on sale right now 169.00.
Two subs always makes a big difference. Thanks for watching!
Thanks a lot@@markhagopian3257. I also noticed it was on sale 👍
@@TwoGuyzTech thanks 😊
I just added a 2nd reference 12 yesterday. Turned both down to 3 on gain and was plenty.. getting late at night. I'll test more today but I'm sure it will be pretty impressive.
I might return my Yamaha TSR-700 and get this Denon receiver if it truly supports 4k 120hz 10bit RGB Full through passthrough.
Thanks for watching! We think both the S760H and the new Onkyo TX-NR6050 (which we're currently in the process of reviewing) would be good picks depending on availability at your Costco warehouse. The Onkyo is a little bit more money (coming in at $99) but it has a higher power rating and more features. We've tested it with our PS5 @ 4K 120Hz HDR10 4:2:2 32 gigabit which is the max that the PS5 can do, but Onkyo says on their website that it can pass through full 40 gigabit signals (for devices like Xbox Series X). We'll give our impressions on it and how we feel it compares to the Denon once our review comes out! Should be sometime this week.
@@TwoGuyzTech I use a PC as well and currently play content at 4k 4:4:4(RGB) 10bit 120hz in HDR. According to what people say, you need 40.1 gbps for that. So I guess I would be right at the limit for that receiver but better than Yamaha's TSR-700 which only supports 24 gbps even with their upgrade board.
Can this drive 4K, 120, hdr, and VRR all at the same time? Thanks.
Yes, absolutely! thanks for watching.
Thanks for the reviews. This just came in to my local Costco for $399.
Glad I could help
Great review! I''m not look for budget receiver but, I find your reviews interesting in that they help the entry level buyers get the best bang for their buck. Thanks.
Thank you very much!😀
Hi. Costco has Klipsch R-625FA 5.0.2. Tower speakers are 100watts RMS. This denon receiver is 75watt per channel. Is it ok to run 100watt speaker on 75watt? Is it underpowered since I read underpowering a speaker causes distortion. Thanks 👍
Thanks for watching! Yep, the Denon should be fine because the 100watt RMS rating of the Klipsch towers is the RMS power handling. You can go lower, and as long as you don't hear distortion and try to crank the amplifier beyond reasonable levels, thereby overdriving it, you'll be fine. We'd also suggest checking out the Onkyo TX-NR6050, we were really impressed with it as well and it has a slightly higher power rating. We reviewed it here on our channel. Hope this helps!
@@TwoGuyzTech Thank you for your advice. Going to see your review on Onkyo TX-NR6050 👍
Hi Thanks for the videos. I noticed in your AVR-S750H review you hooked it up to a floor speaker and it couldn't handle it. Will this work in a 5.1 system with Jamo S 809? It appears Yamaha TSR-700 has a larger watt output, so if this is insufficient, would that be better for using floor speakers?
Planning on getting the Jamo S 809 floorspeakers, Jamo S810 sub, S83 center, s803 Bookshelf (all on sale)
Thanks for the content and your time! Looking forward to getting a new home theater set up!
Thanks for watching! The speakers we tested in that video are EXTREMELY hard to drive for even higher-end receivers, because they're VERY power hungry compared to most speakers. We also tested in a larger room meaning the receiver had to output more power to reach the same volume levels that we're used to. The Jamos on the other hand are all pretty sensitive (between 87dB to 90dB) 8-ohm speakers so you shouldn't have too much of a problem with either the Yamaha TSR-700 or the Denon AVR-S760H. Glad this video was helpful and we hope you enjoy the new theater! :)
Much appreciated thank you!
Does this AVR offers Dolby Atmos sound? Can it be used on a small room size 9' x 9' ? By the way, what is the Costco price for this AVR?
Yes to all of your questions
@@UnitedRedDevil13 Thanks, but what about the price at Costco? I heard $440 + renewing membership, and I guess all in all it will cost $500 + tax, a savings of about $50 if I buy it at Denon website. By the by, any speaker recommendation for the 9' x 9' small room?
